Found this place on Yelp and it was on my way to visit companies so off I went....small place nice layout nice guy in the front a one man show there.... He had a Columbian and a "Fresh Off The Press" (he said Guatemalan and Ethiopian)....either way I felt like the Fresh Off The Press was really good he gave me a taste of it and yeah if I were to drink it black today that would've been it.....I had a Almond Milk Latte using those beans and it was great overall. I definitely would come here again.....just don't get out to Spokane often.... FYI, They roast their own beans and make their own pastries offsite....

One of my all-time favorite coffee shops. Not only is the coffee absolutely the highest quality, but the syrups and pastries are from scratch! The staff is mare so friendly and personable. Please check this place out! You can thank me later.

Perfect cup of coffee, first time where I've been able to order coffee just the way it is and not make any modifications.

This place is great!!! Care and detail go into everything they make and serve. From the custom Kabocha(Black pumpkin) spiced latte to the insanely tasty Granny Smith and Cinnamon Galette(mini pie) with hand picked apples from a local farm, the offerings are top notch. The server is wonderful with a caring and warm cheeky banter while expertly explaining the offerings and deftly producing everything perfectly. It's a joy just dropping in to this place! They are open every day btw. Apple Maps is wrong.

Experience/Service: the place is cute cute cute! The service was top-notch, friendly, and genuine. Food: wow! A bakery this truly is. I had the opportunity to try several types of scones and some sort of almond roll and it was all delicious. I especially loved the lemon-blueberry scone and I normally don't even like lemon. If I had been in town more than 2 days I would have gone more. Price: normally I don't mention this because prices are in the eye of the beholder. But compared to my native SoCal the prices here were $1-2 less per drink. A latte and a huge home-baked scone for $10? Wouldn't happen elsewhere. So bravo for keeping prices reasonable. Loved visiting Spokane and this was a key part of my experience in the South Hill.

Oh my gosh, it was soooo good! We tried a few different items. We had the lemon blueberry scone, a butter croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a cinnamon roll. Each one was delicious! We also had a couple of their fun coffee drinks and they were also amazing. One additional thing that I think sets this bakery apart from the others is how spacious it is. I feel like most bakeries are a bit cramped with their counter and the seating, but Rockwood Bakery feels very spacious for your coffee dates or a meet up with friends. The service was super friendly and helpful too! I highly recommend going here!

There is a small space to sit that is primarily within the business, but plenty of room in the shared space if you are looking for a place to extend your visit. I asked the barista some questions and noticed that he was meticulously measuring coffee grounds by weight and tamping with precision. He was very helpful and willing to discuss the possibilities to help me land on my drink of choice. He proceeded to make me the best "dirty chai" I have maybe ever had. The chai is sourced from a small business in Bend. It was a perfectly spiced blend. The espresso was smooth and flavorful. It was so delicious I went back for another the next day. This establishment serves only beverages (as far as I could tell) but they are made with care and skill. Highly recommend.

#1 coffee in Spokane FOR SURE. I mean that so seriously. In…read morethe past two years I have tried several well recommended spokane cafes that were all great, tasty, and slightly more expensive than I would like. Hatch beaker + burr transcends all of these. I never expected that I would find one of the best lattes I've ever tasted in Spokane of all places after being a Portland/Seattle coffee elitist. The seasonal dulce de leche iced latte was so strong in the best way and brought me back to life with how flavorful it was. Seven dollars even and worth every penny. You can see in the attached photos that I really tried to get every drop of the drink. It was so good that I got another latte to go (cardamom), also so so good. Everything else: cute space with lots of plants and two tables (but other seating available in the commons), barista who is clearly very knowledgeable about every part of the coffee and actually likes making the drinks. Really nice service and you get updated on your drink even when it's busy which is nice, I've never had that in other cafes. I really can't reiterate how amazing this coffee was. Must try if you have not, and if you have you definitely already know.

AMBIANCE Parking: Downtown parking is downtown parking thus requiring some patience. There is some street parking and garage parking nearby. Seating: Inside seating, plenty of cozy nooks and tables, with room for about 40-50 people. Vibes: You gotta love Spokane. A growing town but a small town feel. The spot itself feels like a love letter to books and community with that old soul essence. You walk in and your senses are welcomed from the aroma of coffee and the hustle and bustle of employees and customers moving around. One side you'll see the cafe but a good portion is a lot of shelves with books and gifts. A very stimulating space, great place to study or get work done. CAFES & RETAILS Cold Brew - Hazelnut (Recommend) They have these house brews with selective flavors. I got a staple hazelnut that provided a nice nutty earthy feel. The coffee was strong as it kept me up for a busy day. Retails (Recommend) I didn't get anything but if my luggage had room I probably totally would have. Great range of books and creative thoughtful gifts (bookmarks, candles, and trinkets). CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. The staff contributes to the warm atmosphere and makes the space feel approachable. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good coffee, cozy vibes, and a sense of community that makes you want to stay awhile. Atticus isn't just a coffee shop but a neighborly space that brings the locals and visitors together. If you're in Spokane and need a place to relax, come through! TIPS: * Take your time and browse the books and gifts, and enjoy the specials!

I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu before giving that fifth star.
