Enjoyed a tasty iced chai, raspberry oatmeal bar, and of course, pink sugar cookie! I love that the pink frosted sugar cookie has that slightly cherry-almond flavor to the icing and the sugar cookie was sweet, but slightly salty and buttery. I felt health(ier) eating the raspberry oatmeal bar as it was very thick with oats, my fav. A little bit of cinnamon too. The iced chai was a solid base hit. Plenty of sitting room inside though a little hot during the summer. Outside seating but not much shade. A few parking spots in their little lot so mainly street parking, which was plentiful. read more

I have to say...I used to love The Rocket Bakery. I've enjoyed going to their 14th Ave location on the lower South Hill for over 11 years. When I worked from home-years ago , my wife and I joked that their coffee house was our unofficial, "commissary!" The sense of community, good coffee and great pastries made it a pretty special neighborhood gathering place. However, over the last few years it has gone downhill substantially. They did a bizarre remodel that made the space much bigger, however, didn't bother to add any descent furniture to accommodate its new space. It's a huge space that is dark and cold with industrial chairs and tables that looked like they cane from a public school Speaking of cold...I've asked their staff and office twice to take a look at their main entrance. I have MS and I use a motorized power chair. The doorway lip is a real challenge for my wheelchair to clear. I've asked them nicely, twice to take a look at it and see if they can correct it. This morning I asked a staffer if they had plans to correct it and she in a very snotty and abrupt tone said emphatically - NO! I informed her that my next call would be to city hall. She then replied, "Well you should call them!" She informed me that other people in wheelchairs, didn't have a problem clearing the entry way. I then took my chair and tried to clear it and I surprisingly got into the space. However, it was a pretty loud jolting and jarring entrance. I felt silly not trying to ram my way into the Rocket Bakery in the first place. She was right, if you built up enough speed and somebody holds the door open, you can enter their space. However, I have no interest in entering that place ever again. The heart and soul of that place died years ago when they lost both Christine & Victoria. They were the regular morning managers and they were great! Friendly, fast, and compassionate. This new space is not warm, not inviting, and not part a business I want ANY part of. I'm sure they will do fine whether my family and friends go their or not. However, I feel like the management and staff of the rocket bakery could care less about me and my mobility challenges. Sad to see a neighborhood institution lose its way, it's heart and it's soul. And yes - I will be calling city hall. read more

I feel mislead by this being called a bakery. It's a coffee shop with two small cases of cold, individually wrapped baked goods. I wouldn't have thought a scone needed to be heated but the one I ordered was very cold--it had been refrigerated, if not frozen. If this were "Rocket Coffee Shop" it would be a solid 4 stars. Rocket Bakery has several stores located in Spokane. On Sunday morning, the coffee shop was not open in downtown Spokane. We had to go to this location.It is located in a quiet residential area, about 16-20 mins away from downtown Spokane *depending on how fast you drive*. The coffee shop has seatings available with friendly baristas and delicious pastries. However, we did not sit inside the shop as every single seat was taken. I settled with a cup of tea (as always when I go to coffee shops), and my boyfriend bought a cup of coffee with how many shots he ordered plus some desserts. Everything was tasty. We will consider to come back! read more

June 12 2022 - Reading labels at Huckleberry's on your cookies and treats. How cheap do you have to be to use MARGARINE over butter in your baked goods? Couldn't be more than two tablespoons in one of you FOUR DOLLAR cookies. Margarine contains trans fat, which raises LDL (bad cholesterol), lowers HDL (good) cholesterol and makes blood platelets stickier, increasing heart disease risk. Not to mention increasing visceral fat (abdominal). Butter contains saturated fats but has been proven to be much better for you in moderation. I do not touch margarine so as long as you're proving that you only use the cheapest of ingredients, I won't be spending money at RB. read more

I like Rocket as a neighborhood go-to. Last time I went my quiche wasn't all the way warm and I wasn't impressed with the recipe. My americano was so-so. Does the trick but there are other spots I like more for these two items. Go for the Nanaimo bars - they are a freaking delight to the tastebuds. read more

I looooveee the baked good here at Rocket Bakery. I use to work up on the one on South Hill and I miss the pastries so much. Luckily, I live within walking distance from the one on 1st so I visit it often for a few parties or breakfast burrito. I highly recommend the triple berry scone, or banana bread! The chorizo sweet potato burrito is a must try too! I don't even eat sweet potato but it incorporates together so well with the chorizo. 10/10! read more

Walked over here with my daughter only to be met with a super rude barista who said no, they have no food, other than pastries. She took 15 minutes for one customer right before us and was a complete disaster, dumped stuff everywhere. Wow I'm not very happy. I paid an arm and a leg for a burrito and a quad shot caramel americano just to get watered down yucky tasting coffee and the man working there wasn't listening nor was the new girl that just got hired. I threw my coffee out and will not be coming back. Lack of customer service and lack of quality in both the coffee and food. The burrito dropped on the floor and the guy working didn't think twice to grab me a fresh one. ALSO whoever was supposed to open the other day and had customers waiting needs to be fired. I had been looking forward to trying out this bakery as we are new in the area. My mom had an almond croissant which she enjoyed. Unfortunately the Turkey Pesto sandwich I chose was not very good. I specifically asked if there was any mayonnaise on the sandwich and they assured me that there was not. It was already made and wrapped in a wrapper. Because it was in a glass display case I could not read the label myself. Upon getting the sandwich there was mayonnaise mixed in with a small amount of pesto so the mayonnaise was predominant. I brought it up to the counter to expanding that there was mayonnaise and the worker just shrugged and did not do anything to remedy the situation with a different food item. So disappointing. Maybe I will go back to try more of a bakery item, but not sure as I have not had a positive experience so far. read more

The new bigger layout is AWESOME. Love all the space and how beautifully done it looks. This cafe has really turned into a beautiful place. That being said, THERES NO WIFI. this totally bummed me out because I'm a student always looking for places to study (my entire classes are online, including my textbook). This would've been the perfect place for me to settle in and enjoy a beautiful fall or summer (or any season!) day studying, but to my extreme disappointment, I can't ! The gal was super nice about it, and I love rocket bakeries. But this totally made coming up to the south hill a waste today. Maybe had there not been WiFi before (which there was) when it was small that would've made more sense compared to now, it being so much bigger. Super bummed. Good tea and coffee, though. read more

I live close to this Rocket, and head over there for my coffee a few times a week. I've never had a bad experience with the drinks (and I work in coffee and tend to be picky), and the girls are always friendly to me. However, be warned, this location is very small, so if you're planning on meeting a friend here I'd recommend walking over to Cannon Hill Park after you grab your drinks. Also, grab a Rocket card (pretty much a reloadable gift card) and get 10% off of all your coffee drinks when you use it. Yay! read more

Like this place, but needs more to love it. Classic storefront feel is charming, metal outdoor seating is classic and feels great. Same with inside furniture. My friend took me here for brunch and I really enjoyed it! The decor feels cozy and inviting. I had a cinnamon roll which was flavorful and pretty big for a reasonable price. The staff were friendly as well. Good place to go for breakfast, brunch, or just to work/study. read more

Closest Rocket to my new place and I love it! Very friendly staff and of course excellent drinks and treats. I had the mixed berry scone yesterday and it was heavenly. I think it has to be the smallest Rocket in town, but that's okay, just helps with that cozy feel. Too bad Spokane is cold 8 months of the year, the outdoor seating is great for people watching. The reloadable Rocket cards are great too, you get 10% off every order...I'd like to see Starbucks do that. read more

I totally support local coffee places. This was great for a after dinner treat. They do have a ingredients list for the bakery items which was nice to know. Coffee was good and very hot. Timed perfectly! Came in late but an extra batista would of been nice , because our friends were waiting on us. They do make their own peanut butter cookies . That are GF so that was nice bonus. Love the Rocket chain in Spokane, but had a recent experience at the 14th Ave location that left a bad taste in my mouth. Took the 2 baristas about 7 minutes to even greet me (there were only 2 other customers in the shop). I literally stood there at the counter trying to make eye contact with the main gal working, but nothing. Then when she finally did acknowledge my presence there was no warmth- no feeling that she actually wanted to be helping me at all. I felt like I was a major annoyance. Nevertheless, I was nice and patient (even thought I was very irritated on the inside because I work customer service and understand the importance of good service). I ordered an iced latte and an iced Americano DECAF for my friend who suffers from anxiety attacks (therefore, can't consume caffeine). They made them both caffeinated. Sub par service and wrong order. Probably won't ever go back. read more
