I've been looking for Mediterranean food since I moved here and this is extremely close to what I'm used to! The skewers were delicious!

Overpriced and underwhelming. Our bill came to $127 before the tip was added. We ordered the grilled chicken, Kafka kabob and grilled salmon. Every dish was overcooked even after asking for the salmon the be undercooked (medium). Normally overcooked rice gets mushy however they left it cooking so long that it became hard again! The mezza plate at $29 is a joke!! It was terrible, the flavors were off and did not compliment each other. The pita it came with was very very thick and sour. It's like the dough was old and became sour. This may be on purpose but I have never had sour dough pita bread. The baklava was $12 and not worth it. Do yourself a favor and you tube any dish you think you may want to try here and cook it yourself!! The ingredients would cost a lot less, the food will be so much better and it can be a cooking experience you share with a loved one! I hope Costco stops selling this brands gift cards. We bought $300 in gift cards, have been to 3 of the locations and the food has been lacking at every location (honey, republic tap house and baba). I'm happy to say we are out of gift cards! read more

Great food! We loved the hummus and mushrooms the best. The baklava was also amazing! The tuna fell a bit flat so I wouldn't order that one again. Our server was very nice and I like the more casual vibe. I took one star off because there was someone in the kitchen without a mask on. But other than that our experience was great, we'll definitely be back to try more dishes. read more

We were in Spokane celebrating New Years Eve and placed a reservation at Baba for New Years Day brunch. A very good choice! The menu is varied with delicious Mediterranean dishes in generous portions, so be ready to take some home with you as well and the service was as stellar as the food. The food was impeccable, the decorations/wall murals were amazing and it was a very comfortable experience overall. I ordered the lamb & clams (so good), Momma ordered the kofta kebabs (delicious) and our son ordered the pita pizza (also great). One of the best middle eastern I have eaten so far in the US. As a group of 2 , I and my husband ordered : deviled eggs, pearl mushroom souvlaki, crispy falafel and the sweet and sour cauliflower. I also ordered sides of shoug sauce, garlic toum and pita bread. Every dish was on point in terms of flavor, portion size and freshness. Really tough to decide a favorite. The flavor combinations worked really well and the modern touch to the classical Mediterranean food was implemented very well - welcoming and didn't make the dish too alien! Truly a gem , we would definitely be coming back to try rest of the vegetarian things on the menu (please note all vegetarians!) read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Spokane. Very good service, rarely a wait and amazing food. It is frequently a struggle to pick what we want to eat when we go there. It's breakfast is also excellent, my wife and I even had our bridal party meet there the morning of our wedding to have a big breakfast for our big day. read more

Ordered the cauliflower dish through Grubhub. It was $17 on the menu and $30 to get to my door. Literally 5pieces of cauliflower!!! For $17 I guess I expected a good sized portion. I don't know if they are trying to be some upscale fancy restaurant where you spend $100 on a meal or what and if they are why bother with Grubhub? I will definitely never be ordering from or eating here again. read more

Baba has my favorite brunch item in town on their menu: the Wild Mushroom Omelet with herbs, chevre and chermoula. Every time that I've had it, it's been wonderful except for the last time that we were there. I'm not sure what happened, but the mushrooms were rubbery - they chewed like bubble gum and after enough chewing, I had only the option to swallow them whole. What I suspect is that the mushrooms that were in that omelet were dehydrated and rehydrated for use in the omelet. This is a shame. read more

I went for a lunch meeting excited to try a spin on middle eastern cuisine. I'm from the Middle East so I know those flavors pretty well. The chick pea fries had good spice flavors like cumin, and the acid from the Chermoula complimented the nutty flavor from the chick peas, but the negative was the fries needed to be a little crispier. Also got falafels which has authentic flavor and nice color on the outside to it, but unfortunately a bit raw in the center. I got the sweet and sour cauliflower, it was a bit undercooked and I tasted only what seems like balsamic vinegar over them and didn't taste anything else! So overall concept was good but lacked execution! I asked the server about the owner and the concept of the restaurant, and what is the inspiration but the server didn't seem to have any clue what the restaurant was about! Brunch was amazing! First time trying and was definitely worth it! Tatziki was fresh and light. The crab rolls were very tasty. Fries with cheese and egg- comfort brunch and was too much food for us 2 people! All in all, worth the $$. read more

Popped in for a quick bite. Had a soup and the crispy cauliflower. Both were tasty. Creative menu. This is greek/Mediterranean and middle eastern flavors. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options outside of "salads". Service was more European than standard US rushed meals. I will return and add this to my recommended list. read more

Service great, atmosphere great. Now brace yourself this is rough..... Food was horrible. This to me was mostly atmosphere and fancy words with decent sauces. I did for the record order super basic shakshuka but the eggs were literally raw, shakshuka has runny eggs but the whites were literally liquid. I added lamb sausage but it was so over cooked it was like beef jerky and tasted HORRIBLE, the waitress was nice to remove it as it cost extra to add. Dessert was meh. A cardamom cake that tasted like an ok carrot cake. Not a hint of cardamom to me. Babaganoush was ok, very bland. My husband ordered smoked grilled chicken skewers and it was literally just tough smoked chicken with sauce that was good. Potatoes with zhoug, meaning they should have been spicy and flavorful. Potato's were undercooked and zhoug was not even a tad spicy, just slightly green. Super pissed we spent $85 on meh food. I think a Trader Joe's frozen middle eastern food would have tasted better. My two cents..you're paying for "local food", atmosphere and fancy wording. Save your money. read more

Love coming here to get dinner for date nights. Ambiance is great, the menu is delicious. I haven't ordered the same thing twice. The bar area has excellent spirits on tap and the Turkish coffee for after dinner conversation is delish. Highly recommend coming here anytime. read more

The Shakshuka had tons of salt. Enough for 10 feasts. Also egg shells in the shakshuka. The food leaked out of the container and came without utensils. The amount of rice\coscus was about one table spoonful. Not proportional to the price paid. read more

Yum! We ordered the Mezza plate, the chicken skewer, the lamb shoulder skewer, Turkish coffee and the baklava with brown sugar ice cream. This was a wonderful mix of food. The pita has to be homemade. The choices in the mezza plate were a perfect mix of sweet, savory, hummus and pickled veggies. This was our first time here and we loved it. Chicken skewer had a pleasant sweetness, the lamb was tender and savory. The coffee was perfect with the baklava. The brown sugar ice cream was so good. The evening couldn't have been better. The wait times were great, service was attentive but not overly in our way. We could talk but didn't feel like everyone could hear us nor did we feel our conversations were overheard. Best place for brunch on the weekend. Turkish eggs and omelets are out of this world. Be sure to get your Turkish coffee as well!

I love seeing a favorite spot reopen with amazing food. I went for lunch which ended up being brunch. I would have liked more salad options but was very happy with the steak and eggs I got. It's not your normal steak and eggs but had some great flair with roasted cauliflower and amazing potatoes. Definitely looking forward to trying dinner out sometime. read more

This place is amazing! I ordered the burnt eggplant dip and the fritters. The fritters were extremely hot and delicious! Very similar to Italian Zeppole, but tangier and a bit more flavorful. Part 1: the wait time Past 2: the food! Part 1: First let me say- ignore the other posts about the wait time. This restaurant is amazing and has outstanding food. Of course there will be a wait for a table! We went across the street and had a glass of wine while we waited for our table and they called us when they were ready. Very convenient! There are several places you can grab a drink at in Kendal Yards, not to mention it's a great place to walk around. So yes, there will be a wait. But it's a good location to wait around at. Part 2: this is one of the best meals I've had in Spokane. Our group of 4 ordered 8 dishes and we couldn't decide which one was the best! The hummus was so delicious and flavorful. The honey fried chicken was addicting. A few of us got cocktails and they were tasty and inventive! The blackberry parfait is not to be missed. Last thing I'll say is that our bar table was pretty tiny but our waitress was top notch and she staged our order so that we didn't have 8 plates at the table at once. Outstanding service. We been here a couple times now and have enjoyed every time. Our favorite is by far Happy Hour which with their tapas style, allows us to try many things. Their deviled eggs are amazing. They also have a good selection of vegetarian options, which makes my wife very happy to have more then just one or two options on the menu. read more

Went for brunch and was very pleased to see Shakshuka on a brunch menu in Spokane! The food tasted fresh and healthy. Already planning to go back for the dinner menu and plan on dining here regularly. Quite possibly my new favorite restaurant in town! I really wanted to like this place and have heard nothing but great things from others. Maybe we had a fluke night. Service was VERY slow. In a group of 5, none of us liked our cocktails. We ordered a few dishes amongst us. The fried chicken was more fried batter than chicken, the burger came out with a very burnt bun (noticed by the waiter and sent back, not sure how the chef didn't notice), the baklava was delicious, and the olive oil ice cream was lacking. My friend jokingly wondered if they were churning the butter for the ice cream themselves because it took quite a while for it to come out. When it did come, the ice cream was tasteless and the orange pieces in it were incredibly bitter. Poor service, none of the dishes or drinks were anything to write home about, and slightly higher prices led to all of us concluding that we will not be repeat customers. read more
