Another amazing visit to Baba. I was in town with some coworkers for a work dinner. Our server was so helpful and made some great recommendations. We got the short ribs and dip platter. Portions were huge and easily fed all 3 of us. I loved being able to try all the dips and pickles. Got the coconut sorbet for dessert and it was the perfect end to a meal. Light and refreshing.

The food here is amazing and so fresh! Don't miss the pita bread with dips. Hubby and I split three dishes and went home with plenty of leftovers.

Visiting Spokane & was recommended by Gonzaga parents to try Baba esp their happy hour. My daughter & I went on a Thursday at about 4:40pm. It took a few minutes for someone to greet us & the gentleman that finally did was a bit awkward & little to no energy. It just kind of felt like he was bothered to be there & had no urgency about anything. He took us to our seats & did give us information about the happy hour and asked if we had been in before. We sat there for quite a while and while we did a handful of other groups came in and waited again for a while to be greeted. It appeared to only be the gentleman & a girl working & there were several tables. After a while the gentleman came back & said he would be our server. He had been seating people & Bartending & I guess now was going to also be a server. We placed our order & a bit later our dips came out but then quite awhile after our skewer came out. The dips were delicious & a great price with the happy hour. The chicken was ok just not what we expected & prob wouldn't order again but it wasn't bad. The happy hour deal we heard about was awesome & the food was good however the weird service situation really put a damper on our experience. I am not sure if they were short staffed or what but it was just very weird & clearly they weren't staffed appropriately. The 2 workers were each doing several jobs but it just didn't seem like anyone had a clear job to do so seemed like a lot of things were getting missed or just not being done well if that makes sense.

4.5 Stars A cozy spot with high quality, unique, Middle Eastern fusion fare. It is on the pricey side for sure but I think the food warrantees it. Think, small shareable plates from $15-30 range. We came as a group of 6 and ordered waaay too much food. The drinks were great. I enjoyed the Velvet Smoke ($16) - the cinnamon, blood orange, and smoky mezcal meld so beautifully. Appetizers: * Deviled Eggs ($14) - GET THESE, they are your classic creamy rich deviled eggs with warm spices added * Kawarma ($20) - Hummus with Lamb - awesome * Whipped Feta with Honey ($18) - also awesome * Latkes ($15) - crispy and addcictive Entrees: * Shakshuka ($25) - as good as shakshuka gets * Turkish Mac & Cheese ($22) - good and creamy with pistachios on top - interesting but would not recommend * I didn't try it but everyone was raving about the chicken kabob ($25) Desserts: * Turkish Pot de Creme ($12) - I LOVE cardamon in desserts Pot omg, that whipped cream with cardamon I could eat everyday * Baba's Baklava ($14) - excellent * Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Kataifi ($14) - the only thing our table did not like. It was salty and we couldn't find the chocolate. So strange. They explained it was new on the menu and needed some tweaking, and kindly comped it. Staff are super nice :) The PITA is to die for - it's fresh, warm, and fluffy.

Coconut sorbet and Turkish pot de creme

All the courses from this restaurant are exploding with flavors from the 1st course being the African peanut stew and deviled eggs, the 2nd course being the baharat chicken and the kofta kebabs and 3rd course being the coconut sorbet and Turkish pot de creme. All 3 courses are extremely good. They are slightly spicy but not too spicy that you can't eat and taste the rest of the flavors. The Turkish pot de creme and coconut sorbet are a hit and you won't go wrong choosing either one but the sorbet was my favorite. It's very creamy and delicious but like I said you can't go wrong if choosing the Turkish pot de creme. Baba is a must try if looking for some place to eat during restaurant week. The ambiance is very chill and relaxing with low light setting and the service is chill with no rush or pressure.

My second time here. I came a year ago with my husband for my birthday and unfortunately while the food was great, the server was so miserable. I'm back in town for a work trip and despite the last visit being somewhat soured by the server's bad mood, I really enjoyed the food and came back again. I'm glad to say that the service is better than last time. Not super friendly still, but at least my server checks in and doesn't act like serving isn't their job. Most importantly, the food is just as good. Since this trip is just me, I opted for a smaller meal. Their meals are meant to be shared and are quite large, so I got myself the Mac and cheese with braised lamb and the whipped feta. They also have a Dubai dessert I'd love to try, but that's just way too much food for me alone. I might try to come back another day during my trip just to try the dessert! Until then, the whipped feta appetizer I got is honestly almost dessert like itself with the honey and lemon giving it a tart freshness!

I can't. Not anymore. I can no longer go to a Mediterranean restaurant and be satisfied unless it's Baba. This has changed me. Gorgeous little place, could have used some candles on the tables, but clean, and fitting decor. Service was relaxed and on it as far as never letting you be without what you need. The food... layers of flavors that you'd not expect- even in a place like this. I've been to so many but nothing has left me staring at my mom across the table wondering if I should stomp my feet or walk to the back and thank the chef. Hit up during happy hour, the deviled eggs are amazing. Had to request without chili oil for my mom. The falafel/ wow. The WHIPPED FETA and pita. Come ON!- there are flavors that shouldn't be allowed and I'm so glad they are. Never had a soft pillowy fresh one before. The chicken kabob..the caramel.. the chili flakes.. I could drink that. Used the rest of my pita to sop it up. Beef lamb kabob was stunning- almost at the top of my personal heat limit. Had the chocolate pistachio torte.. so good. I will have to come back next time I'm in town. PLEASE GO HERE.

The spot: this is a really cool spot! Inside is open, the chairs are comfy, the decor was inviting and felt very fitting for the cuisine. Service: service was slow. We waited quite a bit to order our food and then for our drinks, and it just kind of continued with the rest of the meal. I am going to allow grace, because it was restaurant week and they were very busy! Our server ended up giving us the wrong dessert (it was still yummy), but he comped a drink for me. He was very apologetic, and it all worked out. The food: we loved it! The food had so much flavor and was so yummy! My husband started with the deviled eggs and I started with the potato latkes. Both were delicious! The eggs were totally unique and so good! The potatoes were perfectly crispy and the spicy tzatziki they are served with was perfect on them! For our entrees I got the Kofta Kabab and my husband got the Turkish Mac and Cheese. Again, both so good! The kabob was cooked perfectly, the flavor of the keeled rice they are served with was amazing. It was sweet, but also savory at the same time. My husband really enjoyed his mac and cheese as well. It was also unique and the cheese was so good. Lastly the dessert, while it wasn't what we ordered, it was still great. It had a wonderful flavor and texture. It was a great experience! We will definitely visit again!

Menu on the outdoor patio - June 2025

Came here recently on a weekday with some coworkers who were in town and we sat outside on the patio. We ordered a variety of small plates and bites from the menu to share family style and I can't say there was one dish we didn't enjoy. Definitely get extra pita - you'll use it! Only less than positive comment was that we didn't love the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc we ordered - it was very sweet. I'd love to see Baba offer more Maryhill or other local KY/Spokane wines on the menu in the future.

This is a great Mediterranean Restaurant, located in a scenic area of Spokane Washington. I visited during happy hour and ordered several items from the happy hour menu and one for them from the regular menu; everything that I order was outstanding. The dishes had a very complex and bold flavors, and the service was outstanding. The happy hour menu was very affordable. This is a great place of you are vegetarian, there are many meatless options, as well as numerous meat options on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

However, Luna does offer a lot of things for this price. You have a pleasant neighborhood restaurant vibe, with friendly attentive service and excellent, healthy food sourced from good places. As with anything in Spokane, you will see folks in very casual attire, but this is also a place where you can dress up. When we went, there were several tables of women friends (all ages), many family groups (without young kids or with well-behaved kids), and older couples. I was in the mood for salmon and they did a great version. It should be though for just under $50. It was served with black rice (good) and roasted carrots (good) and a carrot puree (really good but not enough on the plate). My dining companion got the scallops, and they were even more expensive than the salmon. $48 for TWO scallops. Ok, they are large, and well-cooked, and came with a lovely vegetable mix and couscous, but that's a lot of $ for Spokane. We are from CA and that's even a shocker for us. Dessert: they had recently added a banana pudding, which was good. It replaced a chocolate dessert--and that was a bad move because there is no intense chocolate on the menu. We also tried the coconut cake with lemon curd. There was not enough curd; it was barely a tang. The cake itself was a little dry. It is served with house-made ice cream, which balances the dryness but the cake should be good on its own. Apparently, this is their most popular dessert. I am a chocolate-first person. I like coconut. I like good vanilla. I really like lemon curd and a sweet-sour pairing. For me, this item felll short.

That's probably the highlight of the whole experience. I started with the Cheshire Cat mocktail, which was a bit oversweet for me. For main course, I had sea bass for $48 (pan-seared fish served with onion-potato gnocchi, charred asparagus, mushrooms, and asparagus coulis). It was decent, but the portion felt small for the price. Salmon rillette ended up being the best dish! It was rich, savoury, and delicious when paired with pickled onions (the bread was slightly burnt - I hated it). Ended the meal with a vanilla gelato dessert - just okay, not too wow. The restaurant was so packed and seemed understaffed, so service took forever. I left feeling a bit disappointed, especially after looking forward to it so much

I ordered the tamale waffle. The beef was great, eggs were a bit overcooked but no biggie, the waffle was really hard and dry. It needs some sort of crema sauce or something. It wasn't horrible by any stretch but it wasn't great either. My mom got the veggie breakfast burrito and she liked the veggies though it was bland, felt like it could have had more sour cream & cheese. It was massive and came with a side. The added 16% service fee is some real BS. It says on the receipt that it's split between the server & the kitchen staff. Call me old fashioned but I thought it was on the restaurant to pay their staff a living wage. At $18 a breakfast plate & $4 for drip coffee you should be able to pay your staff. And then we're supposed to tip on top of that? Nope.
