I love Baba. Seriously go there just about every weekend. Never had a bad dish or service. Super relaxed atmosphere. I dream about their labneh toast. read more

Happy hour food was excellent. The only issue is they were severely understaffed, which is a common theme in the industry these days. Eat the deviled eggs. The sauce that came with pita (schug) was to die for. I need more schug in my life.... The kabobs were ok but dry. Donut dessert thing was awesome and I'm not even a dessert fan! Would go again. read more

Stopped by with a group of friends for appetizers and drinks. We were promptly seated. We liked sharing the small plates. Food was tasty and we appreciated that there were vegan options. Plenty of drink selections. The restaurant was not full, but our server made very few appearances. We would have ordered more food and drinks, if we had been checked on more often. I do understand that staffing is a problem in the current environment, but I am not sure if they would have been able to handle a full house. read more

Lamb hash and Benedict were excellent for brunch . Would definitely recommend! I went here quite awhile ago and wasn't that impressed; I'm coming back for more now. read more

The food was incredible and so was the staff. Wished we lived closer to experience this more!

Fantastic new addition in Kendall Yards! Visited a few weeks ago with some friends and got to sit outside on the patio under the string lights - made for such a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. We tried multiple items on the menu and ate "family style" and I could not recommend this enough. With the variety of different food options offered, all of which sounded delicious, ordering multiple dishes gave everyone the chance to try new dishes! Loved the falafel and meatballs - tons of flavor and the paired tzatziki sauce was creamy and had a plethora of herbs. The drinks were fabulous - beautifully presented, tasted fresh, and were fairly priced. Will be back soon! read more

Baba restaurant - Mediterranean Near Me - Spokane, Washington

If Baba Ganoush came out of a jar, I think this is what it would taste like. This is the saltiest restaurant I've eaten so far in Spokane with large specks of salt on top of everything. I understand that this is first and foremost a bar so salt makes the beer go down better, but I think serving a salt level to the patrons would've been nice (no salt? dash salt? regular chunky salt?). Fried chicken did not entail much fried chicken but actually chicken skin. ----yes, just chicken skin. I was searching for my chicken meat all night and it could not be found. Now one star for the lamb skewer which was actually decent, tender and adequately seasoned. Another star for our wonderful waitress. read more

This place was a revelation! Every small dish was thoughtfully and creatively made. The warm olives plate with garlic, almond, and lemon was decadently rich, especially on that house-made warm pita bread. I really enjoyed the fluffy honey whipped feta plate, also spreadable on pita. Their grilled salmon kebab was so tender and beautifully cooked. The African peanut soup was just the right combination of sweet and salty, though less soupy and more paste-like. Overall, the food was just spectacular! The space was upgraded and clean and the Mediterranean themed wall murals were very pretty. It's convenient that it's so close to nearby bars and ice cream! read more

Absolutely amazing service and incredible food. This is my new favorite restaurant in Spokane. The flavors and presentation of the food were stunning. Favorites for this trip were hummus and garlic and chicken skewers with potatoes. I completely cleaned my plate. Can't wait to go back and try the mezze plate and other entrees. Really enjoyed the roasted chicken platter too! read more

Came here for appetizers/drinks after visiting a nearby winery. I'd love to come back for a full meal, I am very intrigued by their menu. I ordered the cucumber-elderflower gimlet. It was great and fresh! For the appetizer, I ordered the crispy falafel with the cucumber salad. It was tasty! Very garlicy so bring a breath mint. It felt like plenty of food for the price. Something to note for vegans/dairy free people: there is a lot of things on there menu that are marked vegan but...I'm pretty sure aren't. My falafel dish had tzatziki sauce for example and I don't think it was dairy free yogurt. Several of the menu items were marked vegan but say they have labneh on it which I looked it up and that's a strained yogurt. I didn't ask--my bad--but I did notice it. read more

Covid time review: I had been lukewarm on the predecessor to Baba by the same owner at the same location, Wandering Table, but had been intrigued by the Mediterranean-inspired-appearing menu when walking by it in the busy and popular Kendall Yards area. One beautiful sunny day, I got an outdoor table with a girlfriend for happy hour (3-5pm). Baba is on the north side of Summit Pkwy, so while you do not get a coveted view of the Spokane River from your table, there is still very good people (and puppy) watching while you dine or drink. We had no wait on a weekday afternoon. The Baba staff are friendly, all wear masks, and hand sanitizer is provided. There are a few 2- and 4-tops for outdoor seating, out on the sidewalk alongside the outdoor dining for the diner next door. The happy hour menu is fantastic and between the two of us much of it was sampled. It is small plate comfort food for sharing. I took photos of the first plate that came out and then subsequent items were gobbled up immediately. :) We shared the Deviled Eggs ($3 for 2 halves), Honey-Labneh Cheese Dip ($4), Eggplant Fries ($5), Pan-Seared Falafel ($6), and Dungeness Crab-Potato Latke ($7), which left us both very satisfied and full. For drinks, I had a skinny mule and my friend a glass of white wine. The food was SO tasty. Of everything we got, I would return again and again for all of it but the falafel, which was indeed the requisite crispiness on the outside but did crumble apart when cut into and was a little too wet on the inside albeit with really fresh flavors--maybe I didn't prefer it because it tasted *healthier* than the falafel I tend to crave. The deviled eggs were supremely creamy with their lovely tahini flavor, the honey labneh cheese dip perfectly balanced between rich creaminess and honey sweetness with warmed soft pita, the dungeness crab latke flavorful and with excellent sear. I have to say their house labneh is pretty special. We both love eggplant so the eggplant fries were delightful to us--they were cut thick, so nicely seasoned with the tiniest bit of heat, and with a crunchy batter. Yum. Having had such a nice happy hour experience, I brought hubby back to Baba for dinner on a later night. While very similar menu items were available in larger servings for expectedly higher prices, the same foods didn't quite taste the same, and I don't have an explanation for that. The flavors were blander and maybe the higher cheque at the end of the evening dampened the overall effect. We notably shared the Coriander Grilled Tuna Skewers ($16), which had generous pieces of albacore that were nicely marinated but turned out on the dry side. The dinner menu does however have dessert items that are not available at happy hour, several of which look very worthy of returning for. So my review is 5 stars for happy hour and 4 stars for dinner. read more

Baba restaurant - Amazing vibes - Mediterranean Near Me - Spokane, Washington

My wife and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and were quickly seated by a very friendly hostess. While there were some open tables, there was quite a good crowd for a Sunday around 1 PM. The restaurant was clean, and the decor and color scheme was very light and unique. We enjoyed three items on the menu: -Fried feta -sweet-and-sour fried cauliflower -rosewater raspberry ice cream All three items were absolutely amazing. As a Middle Easterner, I often long for desserts, especially ice cream, with rosewater, and this did not disappoint. We've had fried feta at the White House Grill before, but this blew their version out of the water. Baba's fried feta was much creamier, had an excellent batter, and paired very well with the fruit mixture that was served with it. The sweet-and-sour fried cauliflower was excellent. Each bite was different, but in a really good way. Such unique flavors that was hard to pinpoint but absolutely delicious. We were very impressed with our first visit here, and it is definitely a restaurant we will come back to again. We are excited to try the other dishes on the menu, but we will definitely be ordering the fried feta again. Bravo! read more

This spot has the best happy hour! Pretty much everything is $4-5 and their food is interesting and flavorful! Their pita bread is to die for, I could eat it just by itself, but their hummus is AMAZING! Also, their baklava and cinnamon ice cream is a delicious way to finish off the evening read more

Went to Baba with some friends and really enjoyed our experience there. The location in Kendal Yards is great and the restaurant is easy to get too. Inside there is a mix of high top and standard height tables for you to choose. The food is pure Mediterranean and very good. I had Hummus with Tahini for an appetizer and Clams with Lamb as a main dish. They also have a nice wine by the bottle list, but limited on the by the glass options. Wait staff was on point even though it was very busy. Will definitely dine here again! read more

Baba restaurant - Clams and Lamb. - Mediterranean Near Me - Spokane, Washington

My wife and I stopped in here today for the first time. This is a new restaurant; things are new and updated. We were greeted by friendly staff, Covid-19 protocols were in place. Mary had a soft drink and I order one of their specialty beverages a Za'atar, bourbon, orange liqueur, spice, bitters, and burled orange, very tasty. We started with Fried olives, breaded and fried olives with chermoula sauce and yogurt, these were very tasty; this is a substantial number of olives, enough for multiple folks. We also tried the Eggplant Fries, my wife order these; I have never liked eggplant, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good these were. We shared the Turkish Mac n' Cheese, shell pasta, pistachio, labneh cheese sauce, breadcrumbs with brown butter and dukkah, with fermented chilies; this was a tasty dish, but the cheese sauce was a little bland for my taste. We finished our meal with the Honey-Walnut Baklava, served with cinnamon ice cream, delicious. You should get in here and give this place a try. read more

This place was very amazing. The food was top notch and so was the service. I can't recommend this place enough

Happy hour is five stars!! I wasn't able to try any drinks because I'm pregnant (although they do have some mocktails on the menu), but the food was SO DELICIOUS. There are tons of small plates on the happy hour menu that can be shared and range from $4-$12ish. The hummus with tahini was some of my favorite hummus I've had and our whole group agreed that the honey-labenah cheese dip was the star of the whole meal. I didn't love the French garlic dip as much as the other two. Served with fresh perfectly baked pita bread with olive oil. Another dish we tried was the sweet and sour cauliflower. I loved the texture of this dish, but felt mediocre about the sauce. Still worth trying though! Fried olives were another favorite of the meal, and the feta garlic bread was yummy as well. The more expensive items on the happy hour menu that we tried were the meatballs and the clam and lamb (still only $8-$12). I really liked the tzaziki sauce that came with the meatballs. And the clam/lamb was definitely worth getting as well. We finished off with the baklava with cinnamon ice cream which was the perfect way to end the meal! Overall, this place has a great atmosphere, excellent service, smells delicious when you walk in, and has a really inexpensive and delicious happy hour. Make sure to try the honey-labneh cheese dip :) read more

Unique ,perfectly executed Mediterranean-influenced fare, with a carefully tended cocktail bar. Wild mushroom topped, savory hummus plate served with warm, puffy house-made pita is an example of one of their great starters. We ordered a dozen small plates for our party of five to share, and every one of them was excellent. Cool modern space and ambience that gets lively on busy nights. read more

Great food...if you have time to wait. And wait. And wait. Help needed. Bar and wait staff need backup. They were busy also seating customers & working the wait list, Bussing tables and washing dishes. Which left our food waiting in the window. Left our drinks empty. Two hour brunch that should have been one. Very inefficient. But delicious. So there's that. read more

I've been back multiple times since my first review. It is my new favorite restaurant! It is still a little bold for the small kids (although they LOVE the brown sugar ice cream), but as someone who loves interesting, well-rounded flavors and textures- this place is perfect. Spokane's BEST pita bread. Delicious and unusual cocktails, fantastic happy hour prices and small plates so you can try a lot, and still don't need a nap afterwards. The gentleman server with arm tattoos (didn't catch his name) has been spot-on with timing and accommodating our requests. Great for vegetarians especially! read more

Holy moly. Each plate is a fucking masterpiece. Ate there last night and can't stop crying that it's over. SO. YUM.

Best mediterranean food in Eastern WA/N Idaho, hands down.

I had the pita and hummus as an appetizer and the pomegranate salmon as my main dish. I am trying to recall if I have ever had a better meal than this. Absolutely an AMAZING restaurant. From my first bite of the pita and hummus, to my first bite of the rice, the flavors were absolutely dynamite. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. I am yet again astounded with the food in Spokane. I grew up in a small town with many businesses owned by Mediterranean families, and was spoiled with authentic food- so my bar is high. Baba not only impressed me with the earthy and cool atmosphere, with the service from our server (Korey?) but the food was truly to die for. Forgot to snap a pic of the whipped honey feta appetizer but don't skip it! It was gone before I thought to take out my phone. Excited to come back for date night. read more

Our praises are mostly for our waitress, Kess. She was so knowledgeable of the menu and type of food. For someone who hadn't had Mediterranean food, I asked a lot of questions and she delivered. The food itself was delicious!! I completely recommend the feta and honey dip! Good atmosphere inside. Thank you Baba for a good time. read more

I don't know how this restaurant gets so many great reviews. I ordered online, picked it up. That part was great. But the food was.....extremely salty and my hubby who actually like saltier side of food couldn't eat it. Sorry, but we're not coming back. read more
