The best food with such great flavor. We arrived on a Tuesday night and it wasn't very busy. We shopped through the small marketplace and found some really awesome, unique treasures. The inside is rather plainly decorated however, they have a few seating places to take off shoes and eat amongst friends. Very welcoming and authentic feeling. The food was great and very flavorful. We ordered the naan as a side and that was slightly disappointing. It was rubbery, like it had been microwaved, which was not what I was expecting. Overall great service and delicious food. The menu is small and specialized. We will be back!

I wanted to try this place for a long time. Ordered the koobideh kahbab with rice and a side of naan. As requested, the beef/lamb was perfectly spiced with the rice and naan were an excellent complement. The restaurant also has a small market containing an assortment of middle eastern items . There are also sections where you can sit on rugs and pillows while eating with family or friends. A great place to enjoy not your average food!

10/10 will always recommend. If you haven't been to Emran, you're missing out on the best Afghan food in the PNW. I spent time in Afghanistan, and this is the closest I've had to the real thing--maybe even better. It's more than just a meal for me; it's a reminder of flavors and experiences I thought I'd never find again. The Manto (beef) is packed with flavor, perfectly tender, and just the right amount of spice. The Kabuli Pulau is rich, fragrant, and the meat practically melts in your mouth. And the Koobideh Kebab? Juicy, seasoned just right, and cooked to perfection. The food alone is worth the visit, but the owner makes it even better. Every time I come in, we have a great conversation, and it's clear they put their heart into every dish. If you're craving real Afghan food or just want something incredible to eat, Emran is the spot.

My sister and I wanted to try something different and we are so glad we decided to go with this restaurant. My sister had the eggplant curry and I had the kabuli Pulao. The Pulau was perfectly seasons. I'm not too big on raisins, but it was just the right amount to enjoy my dish. The Manto was added because it looked appealing and boy we were so glad we did! Let me tell you.. it was so good I had to drop my silverware and use my hands. The creamy sauce they gave us on the side was perfect with everything we ordered. They have like a little shop on the other side of the restaurant, sad we didn't check it out because I had to head straight to work. The staffs that day are amazing and nice. My sister and I will definitely be ordering again.

That's a completely empty plate, yes. Because, the eggplant and the okra were both truly amazing!!!

Amazing food and the owner truly cares about the food and their customers!!! It may look closed, but venture in a try exceptional Afghani food experience! Great vegetarian options and meat eaters too!!!

Koobideh Kabab and Uzbeki Pulao.

Food is delicious, friendly service and fun atmosphere. The two plates of food was abundant (great leftovers for later).

Bolani. Savory pancake with a filling. Dipped in a spicy yogurt sauce.

The food was stunning! So good and fresh and flavorful! The explosion of flavors from every dish was delightful and delicious. I love koobideh so much, I wish I could eat it every day, with the shirazi salad. The perfect combination. Definitely recommend for the food. The service wasn't amazing but not bad. Friendly enough but nothing special. Ambiance is to be desired but who cares when the food is that amazing!

Favs were 1) Manto, 2) Uzbeki Pulao with chicken and rice, 3) Meatballs 4) Koobideh Kabab spice 1/10, at a booth, and staff was great!

This food was FIRE! Absolutely a must try! Favs were 1) Manto, 2) Uzbeki Pulao with chicken and rice, 3) Meatballs 4) Koobideh Kabab. Just tell them how spicy you want 1-10. You can sit in a traditional booth (so fun!) or at a table. The hot, black tea with rose water was excellent. Staff was great!

Had a great meal. The Mantou dumplings were flavorful and plentiful. The Bolani stuffed bread was tasty. With custom spice levels all palates can be satisfied. The chicken kebabs were moist and well seasoned. After eating enjoy the attached store and buy some spices and candies. We got the nougats and cardamom for home. Well worth the visit. Cooking is all customized so wait time is a little but well worth it!

Chicken kabob with bread.

The food was very good. The service was a little strange. Just one man in the front who was our server, cashier, etc. we heard women but never saw them. Advice to business: a sampler plate or more combo options would be appreciated. We had never tried Afgani food and really needed a guide. We muddled through though. Over all, definitely worth a try. I wished I had done a little more research first.

If you're expecting traditional Persian or Mediterranean food you'll be disappointed…read more Saturday night with a group of 10, we were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant. Our host was the chef and also the server He actually did a good job. Beside not really talking to us, he wasn't too delayed with the service The food was "Eh" The pita was more of a thin bread... kinda had a chemically taste to them The basmati rice was almost flavorless beside that chemical taste again. Large portions ... but large portions of "eh" food didn't seem like a plus at the end of the day Eggplant curry was ok... Chicken kabob was better than ok.. chicken was a little dry Friends at the table ordered the qorma-sabzi... this was actually the highlight of the meal. Was super flavorful .. was glad the portion was on the larger side We sat in the private booth, where you sit with your legs under the table to give you the middle eastern vibe like your sitting on the floor That was actually pretty cool. Private room in the corner. Our group of 10 had a great time together, because everyone was pretty cool... unfortunately the food was not The vibe was cool, was impressed with the 1 guy running the restaurant, but the food was not up to par. Ive read every single review until now and the majority of the are stellar. I will chalk them up to having a simple pallet that is easily satisfied. Unfortunately I've had the opportunity to travel and have authentic ethnic foods so my standards are very high this ranks at the bottom of all the Mediterranean I've ever eaten. Ambiance and atmosphere was 5 stars Service was 3.7 Food was ... well just say we fed all the left overs to the chickens a couple days later as reality sunk in and we realized we wouldn't be warming up that food again ..

This place was located conveniently down the street from our hotel and near the heart of downtown…read moreCoeur D'Alene. I hardly run into Afghan restaurants, so I was really excited to try this place. We came here for lunch. It wasn't very busy. I saw a few families come in, so this place is great for big groups. I ordered the Manto and my husband ordered the eggplant curry. I've had afghan manto before as an appetizer, but never as an entree. The portions were huge, and each dish were large enough for two people to share. I don't know what kind of sauces are included with these dishes, but they're so delicious. I also like the yogurt sauce that it came with. The dishes were already good by itself, but the yogurt sauce made it a lot better. I'd like to try other things next time, but you can't go wrong with the manto and eggplant curry!
