    Crab cakes.
    Johny M.

I can tell you that's I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant for the price. We're staying at the Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront. The restaurant Avilés is inside. Bread and butter was good. I thought the crab cakes were delicious. Del Monaco steak was cold. It wasn't even lukewarm. The potatoes looked old. My wife knows how to tell. The scallops were delicious but the cauliflower was cold. I'm not sure it that's the way it's supposed to be. The lobster bisque was lukewarm not hot. I think it would've been better. Service was super slow. It took a while to get our table ready even though the waitress was told twice that we were ready. Waters were delivered after asking for them again. Waitress blames the young lady. So my advise is eat somewhere else. Our first table was in the lobby area. Listen to people taking, and checking in. Ask for the back tables if you eat here.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to have breakfast here. Our server was very friendly. My husband and I ordered coffee and I love when they leave a pot so I can continue drinking when I want and not track down the server. The menu is nice and I settled on the breakfast sandwich. I asked for a croissant with an egg cooked well, Swiss cheese and bacon. Food arrived quickly and looked very nice. My sandwich looked nice, but had no bacon. I didn't say anything because we were with friends and I didn't want to make a fuss. The sandwich was OK, nothing special. The side of fruit was nice. Our server gave each of us a bottle of water and "to go" cups in case we wanted to take coffee. That was a nice touch.

    The mussels

Ok so these mussels were absolutely amazing! I could have easily taken a straw to the rest of this plate once they were all finished. Ha! My husband and I sat at the bar for an appetizer and a couple drinks and our bartender was very busy and friendly. He had a great attitude and kept the whole experience very positive! We actually stayed here at the Hilton and have no complaints about anything!

Hidden Gem Alert! If you're waiting an hour for Harry's, next door, why??? The food at Aviles is far better. In the Hilton, it may not look like much, but the chef knocks out a wide variety of seafood, steaks and more at concert level. Amazing black grouper, the fresh catch of the day, in five different preparations. Pick one of your choosing. Valet parking makes getting here by car easier. Service was exceptional. Only thing that they need is a hostess, at the front. Otherwise a total home run.

Been to St Augustine many times but have never noticed this quaint restaurant in the Hilton on the main drag. I had a coupon from Local Flavors so I trekked down one Saturday evening to St Aug. This was in late February before the restaurants were on lockdown. It's a small area in the hotel lobby. Good thing I had reservations. It was a cold night and their large fireplace in the lobby can surely warm you up. We ordered the Braised Beef Parpadelle, Seafood Cioppino, Lobster Mac & Cheese. For dessert we had the Tiramisu, yummy. All our dishes were super delicious. Check out the photos. Nice ambience & cozy. Service was excellent too. I arrived after the Happy Hour. I could have saved some $$$ on drinks. Once this lockdown is over I will surely return.

    Bone in pork chop

We decided to stroll around town in search of a great dinner spot in walking distance from our hotel. We came across the Hilton and the dinner menu looked delicious so we decided to give it a go. I was expecting a nice lobby, but when we arrived the interior of the restaurant was not very appealing plus the lighting was too bright. We ordered the Wine and mussels as our app. The mussels were pretty yummy with a nice zesty flavor. For the main entry I ordered the whole snapper and my bf chose the bone in pork chop. First of all, the main course took over 30 min to get to our table. I had asked for the sauce on the side with my snapper since I like crispy skin and of course it came to the table soggy with tons of sauce covering it. The flavor was nothing special either and it was overly salty. I ate it because there was no way I was going to wait another 30 min for something else. My bf's pork chop looked good from afar, but when he cut into it it was extremely overcooked and tough. He did say the flavor was decent though. The one thing I will say is that our sever was very friendly. I would not recommend having dinner here unless you stick to something simple like apps and salad.

40oz Prime Tomahawk Chop, digging in!
    Raul G.

After having a few lets downs in St Augustine concerning food and service, Aviles Restaurant here in the Hilton Historic Bayfront made everything miles better. The food was absolutely delicious and unique. To start off, My partner ordered a "Blue Energy" Cocktail which consisted of Vodka, Crushed Blueberries and Housemade Lemonade. And let me just say that after tasting this cocktail, the homemade lemonade makes miles of a difference. We were also served bread and butter, but this isnt just ANY bread and butter, the butter is housemade and garnished with pink peppercorn for a unique taste and experience. I was awe struck with the simple yet delicious taste of the butter! For appetizers, we had the Knife & Fork Latin Bruschetta, which consisted of Grilled Arepa, Mojo Beef Rips, Grilled Tostone, Chimichurri, Avocado and Cotilja Cheese. The Beef Tips were extremely tender and juicy, they were obviously professionally made. The avocado was fresh and ripe and by the time we finished, we wished we could order more. Moving onward to the entrées, I decided to be boujee for the night and ordered the 40oz Prime Tomahawk Chop for $128. While the price may be a little steep, if you're able to order this dish, I would highly recommend it. The pictures attached speak for themselves, the tomahawk was cooked to perfection with my preference of medium-rare. Its was so incredibly tender and juicy that I could see the juices flow out when I cut it. The tomahawk featured a honey-chiptole glaze that complimented the meat further. On the sides, I ordered potato fingers and asparagus which both were also cooked perfectly. The potatos were very warm and tender, and seasoned excellently. My partner ordered the 16oz Prime NY Strip Steak which she described as being one of the best she has had. This means alot coming from her because she doesnt typically order steaks or meats from restaurants. From what I could tell, the meat was cooked to her preference and the sides were seasoned well to compliment each other. Now were are up to deserts. I ordered a Creme Brûlée and my partner ordered a Key Lime Pie with White Chocolate. Both were extremely delicious and complimented what we ate very well. Now onto the best part of this experience: The service. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such a high level of decency and respect. The host seated us at a high top table and our server, I have the pleasure to say, was one of the best I have ever had. Sheraz came here all the way from France and her skills and attention to detail are unparalleled. She waited on us and made sure we had everything we could ever need. We talked about ourselves, and all of our ambitions and dreams. It was a very refreshing experience to have a server we could talk to and feel so connected with. Thank you Sheraz for making not only our visit to Aviles memorable, but our visit to St. Augustine excellent. We hope to return again soon!

this restaurant is in the Hilton historic District Saint Augustine. It is a bit pricey but the food is incredible. We had the prime rib and the baked chicken. Both were cooked to perfection! We would definitely recommend eating here. We do need to make a reservation so make sure you call ahead. Our server was Kim and she was excellent.

    Biscuits and gravy with potatoes
    Rose K.

Visited Aviles for breakfast the morning after a wedding at The Treasury. Shared biscuits and gravy and pancakes with my daughter. It was very good. The only negative was the bacon was a little over crisped. The biscuits were very light and flakey. Fresh squeezed orange juice at $ 6.00 was a bit pricey for the size of the glass. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful.

    Duck confitt appetizer
    Jamie S.

My boyfriend and I went to Aviles last night for a late anniversary dinner. It was a slow night and we were promptly seated by Juliana. She was very sweet and attentive. We ordered our meals and they were very delicious! I ordered the scallop appetizer and duck confit app as he ordered the filet. The scallops were very good and the sauces were tasty and complemented the dish well. Very good friend green tomatoes underneath. Good value for that appetizer. The duck was also yummy and rich and was cooked perfectly. My boyfriends filet was cooked nicely and the mashed potato's were THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!! AS the manager and us had conversation he agreed as well. He was very nice and had good conversation. We took advantage of a local flavor and the menu is pricey so for our budgets we would utilize another local flavor again when coming back.

Grouper with hopin John risotto and crispy okra

This was an amazing meal. Fish was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant

I really liked Aviles for many reasons! The location is fantastic. It is located right where the action is without the hassle. Situated on the main street facing the water, it seems less busy. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hostess showed us the menu and made suggestions. We decided to dine and our server was a sweet young girl who was all smiles. The cuisine was incredible. We loved everything we tried. The food was cooked to perfection and delivered in a timely manner. So fresh & tasty! The decor was beautiful. Think old world Moroccan. It made for a very relaxing atmosphere that was a big part of positive experience.

    Buffet set up
    Julie W.

We had reservations for Thanksgiving and were disappointed. We were the first seating and they were not ready to seat people so everyone was standing around. I knew the restaurant was in a hotel but I didn't realize the buffet would take place in the lobby where people were walking around. The tables were close together so you had to take turns going between them and random hotel guests were also walking though. It did not feel very hygienic to me. It was just not a comfortable or classy setup. The food was basic. Nothing special except the crab legs which they ran out of several times during the 2 hour service. Desserts were mostly pie shells that seemed to be pre-baked and then various fillings were added. Our bill came to $452 for 4 people, with the predetermined gratuity already added. It was definitely not worth that. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and were clearly doing the best they could. We received service with a smile even though things seemed a little hectic. It may be a nice place to go for dinner, but definitely not on a holiday.

I had maybe the most bibimbap of my life here, and that includes contenders from a number of restaurants in the Atlanta area. It was truly perfect. $8 for adding tofu (maybe 1/4 block lmao) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen financially, but hey it's a tourist area and it was absolutely made with skill & care, so I wasn't even mad. Seriously, I wanted to hug whoever cooked it. It is so worth it. Everyone else at my table was thrilled with what they got - burrata sandwiches and a fish sandwich. Not a good beer selection, it's very cocktail focused. Not my thing but yeah I will absolutely be back anytime I am in this wonderful city. This is not one to skip

First, the seating. The tables are unusually tall, making us feel like little kids trying to sit at the adults' table. It wasn't comfortable for anyone in our group. Then there were the lights. They continuously blinked above our table, and it was so distracting that we asked to move. Unfortunately, the second table had the same issue. I know St. Augustine is famous for its ghosts, but I wasn't expecting them to be playing with the lights at 7:00 p.m. while the sun was still shining! The biggest frustration was ordering. We were told menu items could be modified, but after placing our order the server kept returning one item at a time to tell us they actually couldn't make the requested changes. It would have been much better to know that before ordering. The pickle appetizer was another disappointment. Based on the description, I expected a pickle-forward appetizer. Instead, it was mostly kimchi, pickled onions, and other pickled vegetables with only five slices of actual pickles. I honestly don't have the words to describe how disappointing that dish was. I was also excited to try the tzatziki green beans, but the crisp pickled green beans tasted more like fermented green sticks than an enjoyable side dish. The baked Brie arrived with what I initially thought was melted cheese inside the croissant, but it turned out to be undercooked raw dough. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had just taken a bite of raw dough. I actually started feeling sick before we even left the restaurant. My younger son ordered the house root beer, which tasted extremely watered down. He also had the pasta with added grilled chicken, but the chicken was dark meat, overly shiny, and completely unappetizing to him. I ordered the non-alcoholic Velvet Slippers mocktail. One sip was enough--I honestly can't find the words to describe how unpleasant it tasted. My friend ordered the steak sandwich and requested the peppers be left off. After ordering, she was told they couldn't accommodate that request, so she had to pick the peppers off herself and still didn't enjoy the sandwich. My older son ordered the lamb sirloin. Even though lamb is often served medium-rare, this was so rare it looked like it was still bleating. We paid our bill before dessert because my stomach was already upset. I ended up making one last stop in the restroom before catching up with my family, who were already halfway down the street, ready to forget Forgotten Tonic. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. Between the uncomfortable seating, blinking lights, inability to accommodate simple modifications, disappointing food, and getting sick before leaving the restaurant, we won't be returning.

Panos, the manager, also stopped by our table and was so friendly and welcoming; everyone genuinely cared about creating a great experience. Every dish was outstanding. The escargot was perfectly cooked (not rubbery at all) with the ideal balance of garlic butter, paired with an incredible fresh-baked baguette. The foie gras was excellent, the steak au poivre was cooked beautifully, and the duck confit was probably the best I've ever had. The red wine-marinated grapes were such a delightful, unexpected touch. For dessert, the lavender crème brûlée was such a unique and incredible flavor profile, very light and delicate, beautifully executed, and the chocolate mousse was just as good. After I left, I checked a few photos out online and only wish I had a chance to try the burger and the peach dessert thing.
