I absolutely love Mexican food and stumbled across this place just the other day. Jamie was our server and was absolutely phenomenal! Literally the best service I've received at a restaurant in a long time. Chips, Guacamole and salsa were delicious- highly recommend. Our entrees however we're just OK. The most disappointing part was the tortillas weren't even homemade they tasted store bought just like Mission tortillas from Walmart. For dessert we got the fried ice cream and it was wonderful. Overall I give it 4 stars great service, decent food but not out of this world. If you go ask to be in Jamie's section you won't be disappointed he is AMAZING! read more

We are staying at the resort and decided to give Aunt Chilada's a try despite the bad reviews. It was so good and everyone was so friendly including our server, Viviana that we decided to come back a second night. The place is walking distance from the resort and it's pretty big with indoor and outdoor seating. It's important to keep in mind that it gets busy and it's big so your server has a lot of walking to do. We got the carnitas street tacos, chicken fajitas and kids bean and cheese burrito. The rice is fried and some people think that it makes the rice hard but it's just the way it's cooked. The beans are so good. They bring out chips and salsa right away too. We had Damen as a server the second night and was so friendly too. I really can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised I was. If you are staying at the resort, make a reservation at least one day prior. read more

Good food. The mild salsa is CHUNKY heaven. The chips are nothing special...just a crispy delivery system for great mild salsa! My Husband usually orders Huevos Rancheros but they don't serve egg dishes here, so he ordered the Sonoran House Salad ($10). It looks like a large enough salad to fill me up but he says he's still hungry! He did NOT add chicken to it. Perhaps with added protein it would be more filling. It comes with a sweet/tart dressing that is EXCELLENT. I ordered a Chile Rellano a la carte ($5) with extra shredded lettuce. This was a delicious Rellano. Traditionally roasted pepper stuffed with cheese, dipped in a light batter and fried. It is served with a delicious green sauce. I noticed all the neighboring tables were full of combination plates that all looked delicious. All the food here looks good. The combo plates are ranging around $14. So this is not a budget restaurant but it's reasonably priced. We couldn't resist the fried ice cream ($8) so that bumped our very reasonably priced lunch up a bit! However it's a very large scoop of ice cream. And after it's rolled in corn flakes she swears it's really dipped in the fryer! It looked it...but not long! It is smothered in whipped cream topped with both chocolate and caramel sauces. It EASILY FEEDS 2 DESSERT LOVERS. She said 4 can share. I suppose so. It's very satisfying with the thin crunchY shell it is served on! It's much larger than the picture ONLINE. Im officially stuffed and my husband is now FULL! The atmosphere is lovely. The prices actually seem VERY reasonable for this level of charming ambiance! It's January and people are enjoying the outdoor dining patio! The service wasn't overly attentive however we didn't need anything special and we weren't in any hurry, so it was fine. We did arrive at prime lunchtime. My husband and I love this place. They have great food, friendly and attentive servers, and the atmosphere on the patio can't be beat! Last night we went for dinner and when the bill came, neither of us had our wallets. What? How is this even possible? Long story. Our server, Dalton, was as kind as she could be. She kept saying not to worry about it and that she'd take care of it. I had some cash in the car (not actually enough for decent tip) so I gave that to her, and left my business card, promising to come back this evening and settle up. She actually remembered my husband from a previous visit when he took his brother and sister-in-law there. This could have been super awkward, but Dalton was SO gracious and kind. We were about to move and I wanted to give Chilada's a try before leaving the area. Let's start with the service... we came early to catch a show. Seated right away with water, chips, and menus. Then a 15 minute wait. This was not our servers fault. I went to the front to tell them we were ready to order (2 tables behind us had already ordered). They had apparently not told Maria she had a table. For the trouble we did 10% off which was very much appreciated. The food was a solid 4/5. My partner had chicken and I had the carnitas platter. I found the rice and beans too salty for my taste but everything was good. Very good salsa with the chips. The drinks are definitely a highlight. My partner ended up with two orders of very good anjejo tequila and I went with a very tasty tequila Manhattan. Outside seating was lovely making the ambiance nice, although I would have preferred something other than country music. read more

It wasn't busy but somehow it took 24 minutes for some service to take place to take place. The chips we're steal and the salsa was really salty. I ordered tres enchiladas de harina with beef, chicken and pork. I received them with corn tortillas instead but decided to not complain to avoid a scene. While I was eating I started to find small pieces of red,blue and yellow plastic on my food! My business partner noticed my discomfort and I showed their what I have found in my food. This restaurant is a longtime favorite of mine. When they closed during Covid, I was heartbroken, and sure they would never reopen. But then they did and I have been back several times. Initially, they opened with a limited menu, but it has since expanded. The food is amazing as are the drinks. I highly recommend any of their margaritas. Every time we go, we get the nicest wait staff and they are always so friendly and willing to joke around with us. The best part about this restaurant is that whether you are eating indoors or outdoors the ambience is amazing. You get an amazing meal in an amazing place. What more could you ask for? read more

Stayed at the resort and had dinner down at Aunt Childas on our second night! Grabbed a ghost margarita at the bar before dinner on a recommendation from the bartender. She was spot on as it was delicious and a perfect start. My wife wanted something new and tried the beer-Rita which turned out to be great. Great service, amazing food and drinks! The Pollo Fundido was the best I've ever had the chicken was grilled tender and flavorful. Got a skinny margarita with a touch of passion fruit and it was so clean and refreshing. We also shared the elote and guacamole both of which were so huge we couldn't finish them and came home with tons of leftovers. Love that they still have complimentary chips and salsa too, so many restaurants have stopped that kind of service. I was so impressed with the bartender Jamie. He greeted my immediately and told me he would be with me momentarily. As a former restaurant manager I do appreciate service staff who acknowledge you and just simply let you know they are aware of your presence. It goes a long way. He was congenial and friendly and funny without being unprofessional or overbearing. The veggie tacos were delicious and the manager even delivered a complimentary Mexican street corn. Minor feedback for the kitchen definitely use much less Mayo and much more acid and heat and salt! But everything was delicious including the casa Migos reposado served with a grapefruit slice and cinnamon sugar! The salsa is hearty and the chips too! Highly recommend. I was looking for suggestions for Christmas tamales on Facebook. Aunt Chilada's was suggested. I went to their website. It was easy to place an order. I received a confirmation email Tamara followed up making sure I got exactly what I needed. I went to pick them up a couple of days later, Brandon greeted me at the front and handed me my order. Rolled in on a quiet Sunday as a 450 person conference was going on at the resort. 20 folks. Willing to sit anywhere. It clearly threw the team for a loop. But, to their credit, they rallied. A six top, an eight top, and 7 of us at the bar. Two primary observations: 1) I'm glad I was in a fraternity in college, because the bar smelled like the party floor of our house on warm Wednesday when the pledges hadn't cleaned it up. Staff was cheerful and attentive, but the smell was a lot. 2) if the Napoleonic-era Royal Navy had provided its sailors burritos instead of salt tack beef, this is the burrito they would have designed. Calling it salty is like calling World War II a disagreement. It was inedible. And I had to ask for extra green chile sauce - that was probably a mistake. It was more brining solution than chile sauce. Yes, you can walk there from the Arizona Grand. But there is no rational reason to do that. read more

He is literally heartbroken, like, I really wonder if I was to ask for a divorce if that would even phase him as much as this experience did. *humor* He was hoping to have his much beloved chimilingas, which they took off the menu. Then he wanted some Pollo fondido, which, is removed from the menu. Husband ordered enchiladas with Christmas sauce (mix between red and green sauce) which he said the best part of it was the rice. Son got the chicken burrito. He hated it. The sauce was way too sour. He agreed with dad, best thing was the rice. I had the chicken fajitas and boy oh boy were they burnt. It was awful. Attempted to get over the burnt taste but just couldn't. Our waiter was nice enough to replace it, but then they batch didn't have a taste. It was more or less a bell pepper and onion fajita. Our drinks were okay but definitely not worth the price. $13 each. Husband is still profusely apologizing for picking this place. This is a must-go. We're staying at the Arizona Grand which is beyond overpriced, however this little spot is technically part of the property, and they DELIVERED. The GM greeted us at the door with a smile and a pep in his step. Im a high volume bartender so I know a hustler when I see one. He walked like he had places to go, and I love that. He saw we took a liking to his tequila display and proceeded to bring us over a list of 200 tequilas that weren't even on a printed menu yet, he had to go print it out from his office. He touched our table several times checking in, and valued my opinion on the drinks, being a bartender and all. Macie was our server and she was super sweet. We seemed to always have what we needed. It was a nice, refreshing step away from the overrated resort I spent so much money on. Honestly the service & quality of the food and drinks blew me away. I am so incredibly happy someone recommended this place to us. Also, if you're staying at Arizona Grand, a bellboy will drop you off & pick you up from the restaurant! I would not recommend the red sauce, they said the green sauce was spicy but was not and had good flavor. There salsa appears to be homemade and was very good. I worked in restaurants for years so I get that you can get a lot of walk ins at once and rushes. At this moment we have been waiting for 1.5 hours for a table. They told us 45 minutes , then 55 , then 1 hour 15 and we still have not been sat. There are empty tables everywhere - they're probably short staffed. It's unfortunate. At least be honest with wait time. We will choose elsewhere . Update - we were sat after 1 hour 32 minutes. Once sat the server was very polite and quick and brought us drinks and appetizers very quickly. Food was decent. We liked it . My only complaint is the wait time and their inability to communicate the changing or prolonged wait time appropriately. It seems like they need to add a lot more wait staff at night. read more

I'm a bit confused with the seating and wait time here. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings available but the wait time is still 45 minutes. By the time we were seated, there was only 4-5 tables occupied outdoors. The outdoors was only 50% occupied. Perhaps they only allow a certain amount of tables per server and they were understaffed that day? I have no idea. Luckily they serve complimentary chips and salsa so you'll have something to munch on during the wait. Aunt Chilada's in my opinion is the best option at the Arizona Grand Resort. There's a wide variety of selection on the menu. The complimentary chips and salsa are excellent especially the red hot one. We came here on two separate occasions and both times we got the same waitress. She was very friendly and prompt with the service. It's also nice that the plates arrive at the table HOT and fresh. Believe me, they're generous with the portions. I walked out super stuffed both times. I wish they have a more authentic meat selection but at the same time they are in a resort. The Aunt Chilada's Special and the Fish Tacos were delicious. Most entrees are served with rice and beans. The only thing I didn't really like was the margaritas. The margaritas were a bit too sweet for my taste. I want to give Aunt Chilada's a 3.5 star rating. During the lunch hours when they're not busy the seating arrangements are quick. Once dinner comes around it seems like they get cluttered and the service slows down tremendously. They need to do a better job getting everyone seated and served promptly. My first night there they started turning people away 30 minutes before closing. Time to start hiring more staff for the dinner time! read more
