Came here with a large group while I was in town. I could tell it was going to be middle of the road when the chips and salsa came out. There were a few different salsas, but none of them were very good. The spicy one tasted overwhelmingly of cumin and the tomatillo and tomato salsas were not spicy and a bit boring. My mom and I shared a molcajete, which was probably one of the better option on the menu. It is definitely enough food to share between two people, making the price point worth it. The shrimp and steak that came in it were good but the chicken was dry and bland. I didn't love the sauce at the bottom of the bowl or the pickled onions - they had a bit of a bitter flavor. The charro beans were SO good - they were cooked with pork so they had a lot of flavor. They made the dry and boring rice edible. Overall a very middle of the road experience. My wife and I went to Aunt Chilada's last night. We sat on the patio, beautiful night, it's a hidden hidden gem. I ordered the fajitas and my wife had the tres enchiladas. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. They were fantastic. They have some great specialty margaritas. I enjoyed the mango ghost margarita. Overall a friendly experience from start to finish. I don't understand the negative reviews - no place is perfect but our experience was so pleasant. Great service (shout out to Josh), very kind and "on top of it." Drinks and food was ordered & served quickly. The food was nothing to complain about, classic Mexican American food made well. Wasn't the biggest fan of my crispy chicken taco (the chicken was a bit too dry for me), but the cheese enchiladas, the fajidas my husband ordered, rice, beans, drinks and chips were great! The layout of the restaurant is, interesting, but no complaints as it didn't negatively affect our experience - just different from anything we have experienced prior. I had dinner here last night and it was great. I started with a ghost mango margarita which was PHENOMENAL. Tons of flavor and just enough of a kick to make it spicy and unique. I usually take pics but I was so excited to try it I forgot! Our server was awesome and very attentive throughout the meal and gave great advice on what to eat! Sugar that has been wet not sure how long. It has mold and just nasty. Our food has not arrived but our waiter Carlos took about 15 min to come to even ask for our drinks. Seemingly prefab chicken squares, no shredded beef, etc., really? The menu they gave us was literally a 1 page, 8 x 11 or so, stripped-down version of what's displayed online. The Margaritas were very weak and watered down. We'll wait a couple of months and try again. I went there to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was a last minute selection, which didn't work to our benefit because we had to wait an hour to get a table. Next time, I recommend calling in advance to reserve a table. Once we were seated, we were uncomfortable by how cold our area was. A friend of mine brought me to Aunt Chilada's for the first time and it was good. They're mild salsa and chips are probably one of the best I've ever had and they just keep bringing out to you.
