    Michealada

Oh my goodness, this place is SO GOOD!! I had the shrimp ceviche, fish tacos and a michealada with dos XX. Everything was served fresh and fast. The staff is responsive and friendly. Great location close to the ASU campus and the freeway. But let me get back to this food! The ceviche was so fresh and the shrimp tender. You can tell right away when the ceviche is premade in the morning and sat there until lunch rush. This stuff tasted like they just made it like right now for me! The fish tacos were so hot and tasty. I even got a bite of shrimp taco when it came out by accident. I regret sending it back. Maria was my server, she was so sweet and attentive. Everyone in this place is doing a great job and the cooks and the food are operating on another level! Do yourself a favor and try this place. 10/10 would definitely recommend! I will be back again and again!

We just landed and were on our way to our hotel but wanted to get a bite to eat first. We decided on mariscos and stopped in here. It's a casual place where you order up front and then sit down while they prepare your order and they bring it by. Honestly? Honestly? We didn't have enough stomach to try what we really wanted to try so we stuck to a shrimp/octopus cocktail, aguachile verde and a fish taco. Hubby had the cocktail and said it was pretty good. I thought the aguachile and the fish taco were also very delicious. The guy who helped us was very helpful and friendly. Nothing to complain about. 10/10 would come here again. Check it out!

Very friendly courteous service. Love the seafood ceviche tower! Octopus was soft and tender like Los Cabos makes it. Do have the mango margarita with tamarind chilli brimmed, ask light ice so you'll get more margarita Yes will definitely come back again!!

Mariscos el Wicho in Tempe is hands down the BEST mariscos spot in Arizona! Service was a 10/10, food 10/10, atmosphere 10/10, and the value for the quality is unbeatable. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delivered with care. I had the Mango Ceviche--perfectly prepared shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy mango sauce, topped with strawberries and oranges for a refreshing, mouthwatering balance. Absolutely unforgettable! He ordered the Botana Especial, featuring butterfly shrimp marinated in both red and green marisco sauces, separated by their signature ceviche in the middle. The flavors blended together beautifully--savory, tangy, and bold. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I can confidently say they have the best ceviche in Arizona. If you love authentic mariscos, this is a must-visit!

Fresh, Flavorful, and Worth Every Bite! I'm always hesitant to eat seafood in Arizona, but Mariscos El Wicho has completely changed the game for me! This place is everything I look for: super fresh, flavorful, and clean (my #1 priority). I ordered the ceviche de camarón, and it was perfection. One thing I loved is that they didn't mix ketchup into it--instead, they provided packets on the side, letting me enjoy the ceviche just how I like it: savory, tangy, and packed with lime. The vegetables were diced perfectly--no overwhelming chunks--and the balance of shrimp to veggies was spot on. We also tried the aguas frescas, and they were out of this world! I had the watermelon, and my coworker had the pineapple--both were absolutely phenomenal. They were flavor-packed without being overly sweet, hitting all the perfect notes. The portions are generous, the value is great, and the service is excellent. This is hands down some of the best seafood I've had in Arizona. I almost don't want to share how amazing this place is so it doesn't get too busy... just kidding (kind of). Support this spot--they deserve all the love!

So I came here the other night for the first time. I got the Tuesday taco special ( forgot to take a picture) and it was really good! The guy serving was really nice but could smile vs. just looking so serious. The place looked nice but the music was a little loud for me. I ordered tostadas for my mom. I did like the way that served, kinda make your own. I just wish they would close so early.

    Botana Especial

This place has the best mariscos in Arizona!!! I always get the Botana Especial (red and green aguachiles with shrimp ceviche) and their cheese quesadillas! SO GOOD and always fresh - my go to spot!

Hey everyone, back with another feastora for you. Been on the list for a minute, and for great reason and super glad it was. Definitely one of the better Mariscos places I've been to lately. Check it out. Limoñada Mineral - Super refreshing, super smackalicious, this one's perfect for me cause I'm always mixing juices and sparkling water. Amazing! For real. Try it! Guacamole, Salsa & Chips. Love the Chips, homemade, Guacamole was delicious, Salsa was on point, no complaints at all. Yum! Botana Mixta - Shrimp, Pulpo & Callo soaked in lime juice and house cocido, served with fresh Tomatoes and Cucumbers, Tostadas on the side, yooooo. Must order for me. Tosti-Ceviche - First time for me but absolutely loved it. Super good Ceviche de Camarón on too of a bed of Salsa Verde Tostitos and fresh Avocado on top. Yummmmm Check em out for sure, super clean spot, the staff was super attentive, the food was amazing, the music was on point, all of it. Will be back for sure, it made my list for sure.

    Large cóctel de camarón

Look, it's simple right? Mexican Shrimp cocktail... then why has been it been challenging to find one that satisfies my palate? Well, until now. I've been craving a cóctel de camarón and I've done as I always do, scroll and search because I'm not going to make it myself because I always make 2lbs worth and then eat it all in like a day and well, that never feels good after the fact. I get excited about a spot and then become uncertain upon reading reviews, or disappointed after getting one from a spot. Today, I scrolled and scrolled and found Mariscos el Wicho, the reviews, though few seemed promising. Now, I was almost confused by the spot located in suite 10.... Marisocos is suite 1 at the end of the plaza. Strolled on in. I admit I may go a bit heavy on Valentina and ketchup when I make mine at home... maybe. So, I did add a squirt of ketchup into mine after first taste and a mix of the plethora of hot sauce options on the table. Look, I don't know why it was so frigging good to me? Maybe because I'd been craving it? I could literally taste everything, cucumber, avocado, cilantro and the jalapeno and it just tasted so good, refreshing. The shrimp was fresh. It all tasted so fresh. Like so fresh AND I received better service at the table than I have in a restaurant in a long time. Like for real, and it was friendly not this awkward weird "leave me alone, already" type of thing. No, the dude was great, the cocktail was exactly what I wanted and needed and I am likely to head in again but next time I'll go for a regular and not a large. So glad I skipped the drink. Not a visible public restroom but I did hear him offer upon inquiry. I'm satisfied. A little pricey I suppose, with a heavier tip $25 but I got the large, it came with the perfect number of totasta shells for the portion and a few packs of saltine crackers. I wouldn't have made my own for any less and these days, it isn't really all that pricey. Not to mention, the taste was worth every penny.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.

We are fans of the local competitor and wanted to see how this one compared. TLDR: the other one is better! We each ordered the Famous Low Country Boil - mine with lemon pepper sauce and my daughter with the 88 Special, a combo of all the sauces. She went with no spice and I went with mild. We also ordered a bowl of rice. We did enjoy what we had but it seemed heavier than what we are used to. We were not big fans of the sausage mixed in and our service was fine, but not amazing. We were also disappointed that there were not scissors offered to help get the meat out of the crab / lobster - we really had to work for it! On a positive note, we did make good use of the wet wipes that were given to us as well as our bibs and gloves. It is quite a messy meal and note that I learned the hard way: don't wear white if you're planning on ordering any kind of seafood boil! Pricing is similar to the competitor. Ambiance is chill but not as fun. I would not rush back, but I also would return with reasonable expectations.
