This is a true hole-in-the-wall place. There is nothing fancy, although they've made an effort with paint colors and some art, and a little faux roof overhang. The menu is small--chicken and carne asada, served with while pinto beans, tortillas, and salsa. We both ordered a combo plate--1/4 chicken and carne asada--for $11.99. that is a smoking deal! Our food was really good, and quite a lot of it. I imagine because of it's location and low prices that a lot of their customers are ASU students. That said a couple of groups came in to order while we were there, and none of them looked like students. The parking lot is small and very crowded. You may have to park on the street. And be aware that they only accept cash!

1/4 combo and 1/4 chicken I already tore up!

The food is so delicious everytime I come and eat here! It never disappoints! Cash only! Best chicken, beans, salsa, pickled onions and hot tortillas! Always friendly and great service too

Weekday dinner, a couple of people dining in but not too busy. A little dark inside. Ordered the combo plate of chicken and steak, comes with a salsa, beans and tortillas. Chicken was a little dry but flavorful, steak was tender, beans were cooked perfectly, tortillas were flour and pairs nicely with all of the meats. The salsa was a blended and goes well with everything else. Overall a nice local place in Tempe.

One of my favorite lunch spots in Tempe! The chicken and beef combo plate is always juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. You get hearty portions with tortillas, beans, salsa, and marinated onions, so delicious every time. Note: it's cash only

Small hole in the wall with about 6 booths and 2 2-person tables. Cash only. Quick service. Food was outstanding. I had a chicken and steak combo and it was flavorful. Corn tortillas were hot. Everything is plastic disposable.

El Pollo Supremo Tempe,AZ Ohhhh my goodness. Hitting my favorite place for authentic mesquite chicken to go. I will drive for miles for this place. A whole chicken and huge portion of carne asada beef. Mmmm mmmmm good. Comes with salsa, beans, flour tortillas and red onions. Of course I had to use my Scotch Bonnet Jamaican hot sauce

Love this place so so so much!! Definitely a 5 star Mexican bbq plate place with the really fresh and good food, and affordable prices. I've always wanted to try here, and I'm so glad I did. When I checked their food pics, I didn't expect it to be large in portion, I got a beef plate- was around 12? and didn't expect to have a lot of meat, but I was wrong. They gave so much meat, fresh salsa, beans, and tortillas. It was soooo yum! You'll need to pay with cash, but to be honest, I think it made sense at this place as I feel like that's how they keep their portion and price good!

I ordered for takeout during lunchtime. Food was alright. But the price is great in this economy. Service was fast.

The tri-tip was fantastic. The chicken was good. Cash-only, right down the street from ASU. We thought it was good food for a good price.

This place is cash only which is a hassle. The food was decent, but for Arizona, there's much better Mexican food out there.

The bartenders are wonderful and super helpful with recommendations, which we always appreciate. Our go-to drink is the Pretty Frosé and it's a must! Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's one of our favorite spots we keep coming back to.

The service was good, but not great, and the food was good, but not worth the money. We tried the Green Chili cornbread, and it was much sweeter than I expected, but it was good. The tacos were small 3" street tacos for $3 to $4. That's basically $1 per bite. I tried the chicken, beef, and carna asada. The chicken and beef had very good flavor with a hint of smoke, but the carna asada was dry and tasteless. I saw the food on the tablets next to us, and most of it looked like fairly small servings, except for a burrito one person had. It was huge, and looked good. The house Margaritas were served in a small rocks glass, and I didn't taste any triple sec, or much tequila either. The lime had a nasty taste to like they were old. For a $7 margarita it sucked, and they called that a special. If money is not a concern then maybe you'll like this place, but I wouldn't call it a good value at all. The flavors were good, but not at the price. They don't even give you free chips and salsa, and I saw the guacamole order next to us and it was a tiny serving for $11.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. I ordered the smoked chicken enchilada as I saw it was a Yelp favorite and it was delicious. I ended up taking half of it home since we all filled up on chips and salsa before our meal. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. Even with other people yapping around us, the noise level was perfect to enjoy company. 10/10 would recommend.

We went to here as they were one of the late night spots still open. *This along with a hibiscus drink (large) and a cola! We also use to love the sushi side. During Covid, we tried the sushi for the first time. We were hesitant as it's a Mexican joint, right? Not a Japanese specialty shop. So to my surprise, I couldn't believe the sushi especially the Las Vegas roll and their Nigiri cuts were pretty dang good. My disappointment seems to be this last year with the sushi just hasn't been the best or fresh tasting. The Las Vegas roll was always nice and warm but with an awesome cold center and fried to perfection and the sauce just right. Lately it's been the opposite. Super over fried were all you can taste is old burnt oil and it dried out and the sauce just bland and not helping at all. The other thing that bothers us is the lack of wasabi they give! If you're not going to give us full flavor, at least give more wasabi to help mask. I will say they give you plenty of soy sauce packets (just barely any wasabi).
