I have been coming here monthly for over a year to purchase food for catering for our company. We purchase 100+ lbs of meat with rice and beans. The food is always given to us on time and everyone in our company thinks it is delicious. The owner of the location has taken the time to greet his clientele while they are in line. I really wanted to have a great experience here but because of my preferences I didn't love it. The service was SUPER nice tho. Lots of meat in the burrito if you like that but no cheese. After a full day of moving we decided to grab some dinner. We decided on Carniceria Los Amigos when a friend highly recommended it. I did place an order ahead of time so I could easily run in and pick up my order. When I arrived to pick up it took me nearly 20 min to receive my food. Due to a language barrier and then being very busy I kept getting told my food was at the other counter and I was bounced back and forth until they found my order. It too a little longer than expected and out of convenience it may have taken me roughly the same amount of time to just order in person. They have a large fridge of guacamoles, salsas, hot sauces and other delicious made to go items along side a huge variety of meats, sides and a dessert counter. Everything looked and smelled delicious. We ordered the carne Asada meal that comes with 3 lbs of Carne Asada along with rice and beans and an order of chicken. After feeding multiple people helping us love we still had leftovers for days! The pricing is very reasonable and this is the best carne Asada I have had! It's melt in your mouth, salivating good! The chicken on the other hand was a bit of a let down... it was as dry as the desert I'm sad I didn't get a chance to get pictures to show the enormous amount of food but I got side tracked with the chaos of moving. OK, I had the breakfast burrito in Mesa at their new location. I got the ham breakfast burrito and it had beans, rice, cheese, potatoes, and ham granted it was good but I don't think it was $13. Good that definitely needs to be reevaluated when I can go down to Gordo's right down the street and get it for 6.99 and the only difference is rice and beans. I'm asking questions and he is responding in Spanish. another customer translated, the employee understood my English but refused to speak English. I've never been to such racist business! I visited the Mesa location on Main Street this past Thursday just after 2pm for my lunch break. I ordered the costillas (ribs) en salsa verde and it came with rice and beans. I was disappointed on the portion size that I received. It literally looked like a happy meal (kid size ) portion size. I paid around $15 for this meal and it was not worth it. They always say holes in the walls are the best and this carnicería stands true to that! They have great authentic Mexican and Central American products. They have cooked food and it's all sooo good! They do sell carne asada by the pound. They sell their cooked chicken which is good. They now have pupusas which are delicious. Not very authentic but still delicious. Customer service is good they try to get you in and out the door fast. It can get a bit crowded it's a small space and people do like to come here to eat. read more

Finally was able to give this spot a try! I drive pass it daily and it smells so good when you pass by and see them cooking the food. Man oh man was I impressed! First off, the hours on here and on their website are wrong. They are open on Saturdays and I believe Sundays as well. I went around 630pm on Saturday it and was slightly busy with people in and out. I ordered the carne asada burrito. It only took about 3 minutes for them to get the meat that was already cooked and make the burrito. It was STUFFED. I could not finish it all. I literally have half of a burrito left to eat. The flavors were AMAZING!! The burrito only has meat, beans, and rice but that's all it needs. They have homemade sauce at the cash register that blended so well with the burrito. You can get red or green.. or both! Please don't hesitate to give this place a try. Thank you yelpers for recommending this place! My local, uppity taco spot had a crazy price of $20 for 1lb meat, while Los Amigos had 3 lbs for less than $20 so this was a serious, NO BRAINER. We picked up 3 lbs of carne asada and 3 lbs of pork for a taco party at our house last night and everyone raved all night long about how GGGGOOOODDDD the steak was. I kept snacking on it all night even after my tacos were long past gone. It was seasoned to perfection. The green and red salsas were delicious as well and also got lots of compliments. I didn't get to try the pork yet because we forgot to put it out, but we'll be making family meals with that for the next few days. Overall I really enjoyed these tacos. Went in on Memorial Day and they were pretty busy, assuming because other places in the area were closed. I got the pollo, asada and steak tacos, which had a generous amount of filling. I tried two of their salsas as well which I enjoyed. As this is a grocery store, you do have to get your food to go. This place isn't life changing. Meat is excellent but in a burrito with rice and beans alone, it doesn't hit a high note. Prices are fair. Green salsa is pretty basic. I honestly wish they would put more in the burrito like sour cream, pico, red salsa or a guacamole salsa. Would I come back? Probably only for the meat but definitely not for the burrito. Service was great by the guys behind the meat counter. Cashier was a bit rushed and in a hurry since she was mopping the floor. Very good specials on cane asada 3lb for $17 usually I like to go here when I buy food for my staff at work because they give you a lot.
