Tacos

popped in after a walk around tempe town lake - they have a great taco tuesday deal $12 for 4 tacos + a drink but i didn't take advantage. they have a little toppings bar as well to dress up the tacos. nice patio & bar area. tacos were pretty good! my friend got the quesadilla that looked AMAZING

We've been there at least three times and we love it! There are multiple protein choices and I love the barbacoa and pastor, the char of meat is perfect. We can also choose corn or flour tortilla, I like both but especially flour one. We also added fajita and it was also great. The salsa station was clean and various of options. The service was also good.

Loved this place! We went earlish on a weekday which was nice because it wasnt too busy. They have a small parking lot with which we got lucky with. It was really easy to order, we just walked up and they called me with my order a few minutes later. I loaded my carne asada with flour tortilla tacos up at the salsa bar and they were truly 10/10. The red salsa had good spice and their green salsa had a nice tang. Flour tortillas were soft, carne asada was perfectly cooked. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Big fan of this place! I was walking around Tempe, looking for a quick bite and happened upon this spot. They do counter service, so it's pretty relaxed. The tacos themselves are bare bones, but the toppings bar is where it's at! Considering it's a chill and inexpensive restaurant, the quality (meat and tortillas) was above expectations. I'd happily grab tacos from here again!

A great taco place to try in downtown Tempe! The interior has a counter to order from, lots of stools and tables, and multiple TVs. They also have a salsa and topping bar. There's almost as much outside seating as there is inside, with great views of the street. I ordered an Al pastor burrito with beans and cheese which was $11. It came out super fast! The tortilla was great, the meat was neon red but so good, and the beans were so rich. An excellent easy meal!

Coming from Hawaii and the lack of quality tacos...this was heaven. We couldnt decide what to order so they gave us a little sample of each meat to try. When we brought the food back to our hotel, the others were on the patio drinking and couldnt stop salivating. Will be back next time when we are in Phoenix.

Pastor and Asada tacos + fajita style + salsa

With a name like Taco Boys it's obvious what to order! On a short trip to Zona with my son we found this place on Yelp on the way to the airport and it satisfied the craving! I had two al pastor and one carne asada - all fajita style. The bell peppers and onions added to the flavor profile and were visually appealing with nice charred edges. I should mention this place offers six different choices of meat so there is something for everyone. The service was no nonsense but welcoming and the order arrived lightning fast. The pastor could have used a little salt but the asada was spot on. My son had the asada quesadilla and went back for an additional order. I liked piling on the variety of fresh salsas for more punch. A local sitting next to us confirmed the asada is the thing here. I co-sign that reco and also suggest the agua de Jamaica con piña.

10/10! This will be one of the reasons I return to Pheonix alone. I made the mistake of order just two tacos at first because it was my first time. Not pictured here are the two I ordered to go. The service is quick and the team was kind. It's one of those spots that invites you to stay a while. There's music playing, a game on, indoor and outdoor seating. Safe to say I'll be back!

pastor, pollo, barbacoa tacos fajita style

excellent, authentic, and affordable place near ASU. there's a self-serve toppings bar and everything is fresh. the meat were all tender and seasoned well. I got the pastor, pollo, barbacoa tacos ($3.79 each) fajita style -- highly recommend fajita style (+$0.49 each) as the bell peppers and onions elevated the tacos!

This is the best spot for a delicious and affordable taco Tuesday! The insides are not ideal to accommodate rushes, especially if you're there during peak lunch hours. We came at noon on a Tuesday and it was SO busy. Hardly anywhere to stand & look at the menu, nowhere to stand and wait for your food. Things are far less hectic once lunch dies down. I ordered the 4/$11 taco Tuesday special. 4 tacos (any meats and any tortillas) + 1 medium drink for $11! I was so surprised by the amount of meat they put on each taco. They were loaded! I also paid about $4 for the container of chips, and grabbed salsa at their complimentary salsa bar. They had cabbage, cilantro + onion mix, pico de gallo, cucumbers, pickled onion, green salsa and spicy red salsa, guacamole sauce, limes, and probably more that I'm forgetting! It was stocked to the brim with enough plastic containers to go around. My only complaint is that they lost my ticket. My friends got their food (I ordered literally at the exact same time as them, BEFORE one of them actually) and we all got the 4/11. I waited about ~10 minutes longer than they did because we discovered they lost my ticket & order somehow. They slap the tickets up in a conveyer line, but I did see some on the ground. Not sure how to prevent that from happening again. The workers were super kind and friendly, and quick on their feet! I 100% would come back here for another taco Tuesday deal, just maybe around 2pm this time to avoid the rush!

First time at this location. It's small and parking can be tough. We purchased the special and it's enough food for one. As usual Taco Boys do a wonderful job on their flavoring. The staff are moving. When they call your name, they're ready for you. It's somewhat noisy and busy. But the food is great.

Pollo taco

My fiance has been raving about Taco Boys since he stumbled across it during a work trip last year. So when we were in town for his birthday we decided to have lunch so I could try it out. It's located amongst other businesses in the Tempe core, unfortunately parking is all paid but there are a lot of lots and street parking to choose from. They offer indoor and patio seating, including seating at the bar outside, which is what we opted for as it was a nice day. You order inside and the food is up within a minute. My big problem with Taco Boys is they don't offer any seafood or vegetarian options, everything is meat based. I'm pescatarian but I decided to try the pollo as my fiance was raving about it and there were no other options. He ordered two pollo and two al pastor. The tacos come out with just the meat on either flour or corn tortillas. However, they have a bar with salsas, pico, onions, limes, lettuce and other toppings you can add to your taco, which I really appreciated. I loaded my taco up with lots of the salsa and fresh ingredients from the bar, so honestly one taco filled me up. The chicken had a good, grilled flavor and the tortillas appeared to be homemade (not sure). I can definitely see why this is a popular spot for carnivores, but I think they are isolating a big population of potential customers by only offering meat options.

Birria Tacos

Went with a group of friends and tried the birria tacos. They came out hot, generously stuffed, and full of flavor. Even on a Friday evening, the wait was surprisingly short, about 2-3 minutes. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot. I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu.

Are there Taco Tuesday deals?

Do they have gluten free options?

Yes, have tacos with corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas. You can also have a plate without tortillas.

The service was good, but not great, and the food was good, but not worth the money. We tried the Green Chili cornbread, and it was much sweeter than I expected, but it was good. The tacos were small 3" street tacos for $3 to $4. That's basically $1 per bite. I tried the chicken, beef, and carna asada. The chicken and beef had very good flavor with a hint of smoke, but the carna asada was dry and tasteless. I saw the food on the tablets next to us, and most of it looked like fairly small servings, except for a burrito one person had. It was huge, and looked good. The house Margaritas were served in a small rocks glass, and I didn't taste any triple sec, or much tequila either. The lime had a nasty taste to like they were old. For a $7 margarita it sucked, and they called that a special. If money is not a concern then maybe you'll like this place, but I wouldn't call it a good value at all. The flavors were good, but not at the price. They don't even give you free chips and salsa, and I saw the guacamole order next to us and it was a tiny serving for $11.

This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. We also use to love the sushi side. During Covid, we tried the sushi for the first time. We were hesitant as it's a Mexican joint, right? Not a Japanese specialty shop. So to my surprise, I couldn't believe the sushi especially the Las Vegas roll and their Nigiri cuts were pretty dang good. My disappointment seems to be this last year with the sushi just hasn't been the best or fresh tasting. The Las Vegas roll was always nice and warm but with an awesome cold center and fried to perfection and the sauce just right. Lately it's been the opposite. Super over fried were all you can taste is old burnt oil and it dried out and the sauce just bland and not helping at all. The other thing that bothers us is the lack of wasabi they give! If you're not going to give us full flavor, at least give more wasabi to help mask. I will say they give you plenty of soy sauce packets (just barely any wasabi).
