My rating is for the food. A Friend and I had dinner there last night and we were both blown away by every dish served. Creative cooking at its best, along with excellent presentation. To me, this is the only 5 star restaurant in Wayne. The atmosphere is not the best because it is very tiny and people are on top of each other. I am a foodie so I can overlook the atmosphere if the food and the service is top notch. The food is fantastic. I have ordered a la carte and the chefs tasting. I have to eat gluten free, and Alex (the terrific owner) accommodated my request and made my meals gluten free. At The Table has been in Wayne for a good 2 years. Saved this place for a special occasion and it definitely helped finish off a great anniversary with my husband! Very small place so reservations is a must! I am not sure if they even do walk in dinner service for the size of the room available. As it says in the name this is a BYOB place which can be rare in the Wayne area. Very pricey but worth every penny. We were torn between sharing a few items from the al a crate menu or going for the chefs tasting menu. Ultimately we wanted to try everything on the chef's menu so we splurged. Every dish was delicious and I would highly recommend. The food options that I can remember on our menu were: -wild mushroom toast -beef carpaccio -butternut squash and apple soup -duck confit salad -short ribs entree with truffle polenta -duck confit gnocchi entree -nutella cheesecake I know I'm missing 1 or two items bc we basically ordered all the options and shared. The portion size is smaller per dish when you do the tasting menu but it is a five course meal so it is plenty overall. I would recommend trying any of those dishes. They were all delicious and well balanced. And to top it off the service was exceptional from both the servers and chef staff. read more

On a Wednesday night when this place wasn't packed my friend and I had exceptional service from the waitstaff and the chef himself! We aren't picky eaters so we gave them the freedom to choose our options in the tasting menu, and they did a great job. Each plate was an experience with some fun combinations and some rare finds. A beautiful, quaint and romantic place along with first class offerings, preparation, presentation and taste, this little corner 26 seat gem is found in the heart of the stuck-up, conceited, condescending main line. The good thing for me is I am only 25 minutes from here, but the bad thing for Alex and Tara is they have to put up with main line trash on a daily basis. Good luck with that, and if you need a warmer, more appreciative customer base, just feel free to set up in MY neighborhood. We need you! ;-) The servers, Isaac and Danielle were wonderful, accommodating and pleasant. The limited but well rounded menu was explained by Issac, our BYOB wine was opened and we were off to a real treat for the evening. WIth our first sip of wine we split the wild mushroom and gruyere toasts. These three sour dough toasts hosted the most delicious mushrooms and cheese, decadent but not too heavy. Apps up next, I started with the potato leek and crab soup. Way better than any I've had in recent memory. The depth of flavors made each spoonful a joy. My sometimes funny, most of the time laugh-er at MY jokes side-kick had the heirloom tomato salad with a soft, creamy burrata, some watermelon just sweetened up the dish to perfection. The halibut (with spicy roasted red pepper sauce and chorizo) was really really tender and moist. An interesting mix of flavors, ones I enjoyed immensely. The fettucine carbonara was my favorite, with a lovely creamy buttery based sauce, some shrimp, bacon and a jidori egg on top. Of course dessert was a necessity. Stellar, just stellar. I said to my boyfriend that this was one of my all-time favorite dinners we've had, to date. It was just, all around, so enjoyable. Ok, where to start. I made a reservation on Open Table and I LOVED the option to pick indoor or outdoor seating. It was going to be a nice night so I picked outdoors, of course. They have, however, since switched to Reserve and I'm not sure if Reserve has this option. We were seated immediately at a table out front of the restaurant which was nice and private. Their patio looks super cute but I was not upset about being seated alone. We decided against the tasting menu because their menu is very reasonably priced, in my opinion, and we could order just about everything we wanted while still being under the price of two tasting menus. So, we got... 1. mushroom toast: to die for and WAY better than Autograph's where Chef Alex was previously. 2. foie gras: this was not my favorite foie gras dish ever but it was still delicious and a rather unique combination of flavors with blackberry puree and mustard seeds. This was probably our least favorite dish of the night. 3. tomato & burrata: this was... incredible. The tomatoes were fresh, the burrata was soft and flavorful. My boyfriend doesn't like raw tomatoes and this was his second favorite dish of the night so that's saying something! 4. my boyfriend got the fettuccine carbonara which was both our favorite of the night- the combination of the bacon and the chili butter & the egg was just spectacular. 5. I ordered the short rib which was cooked to perfection- the onions and the mushrooms were delicious. I am usually not a fan of polenta but with the truffle, it was delicious. I ate my leftovers for breakfast the next day! 6. We got the key lime & blueberry dessert- again, just stellar. so stellar we ordered one to go to give to my dad who loves key lime. Now, on top of the food being amazing, the service is also great. We were even treated to a complimentary glass of prosecco after we finished off our own bottle of champagne. They treated us so so kindly. EVERYONE we encountered was friendly, passionate about food, and laid back! I hate going into a place and it feels stuffy because no one can relax. Last night I was not sure what I wanted to eat so I went on Yelp to look for some alternatives. I came across At The Table. I did not mind that it was a BYOB because I really did not feel like drinking (alcohol). At The Table has a limited menu and all the seating is outside due to Covid. I had a good Arnold Palmer to drink (it came in a very small glass which was annoying). They do not offer Bread (I would normally ding a place two stars for that- make sure to have it next time). I ordered Flank Steak (cooked medium). It was accompanied by roasted fingerling potatoes and haricot vert and topped with Chimichuri sauce . When my order arrived the presentation was exquisite. The only problem was it was rare and needed to go back. When it came back the presentation was not so exquisite LOL. I really hope they did not plate a whole new meal due to new regulations. The Chef and probably the owner was very nice and came out a few times to see how everything was. For dessert I had Espresso Profiteroles that were very good. I know restaurants are struggling these days and I prefer to patronize the locally owned places because they need our help the most. Felt obligated to leave a review after a disappointing experience on Mother's Day. My family was very excited to be together for the first time in a while, and we're not a tough crowd to please. The menu looked wonderful, albeit very expensive at $85 per person for the 4 course tasting menu. My first course was the oysters, which were three tiny pearl oysters with an overbearing raspberry paste that masked a not-so-fresh taste. For my third course, the mahi mahi was very bland, my sister's pasta was cold, and my brother's beef came 20 minutes later. An under-dressed, cigarette-smelling man without a mask, who I later learned is the head chef, delivered the beef with a large sigh stating, "I hate when things get messed up and I have to do this." No explanation or apology. Food aside, we had to get the staff's attention every time we wanted our plates cleared or water refilled. As for desert, my chocolate pots de creme came with an industrial sized spoon which really confirmed my suspicion: the team was really trying to be something that they aren't. For the $85 "fine dining" experience, they are greatly under-delivering. My mother's crab croquets were overly fried and lathered in mustard to the point where it tasted like dive bar food. What a wonderful gem on the main line! Chef Alex continues to deliver modernist/farm to table style dishes with precision and perfect seasoning! Beautiful to see, eat, smell and savor! I've eaten here five times, and it's been amazing each time. His cuisine reminds me of a blend of Chef Nick Elmi of Laurel, Chef Chris Kearse of Will, and Chef Chip Roman's cuisine of Blackfish. With his partner in life, Chef Tara at his side, the two make and amazing pair! We did the 6 course chefs tasting on Sunday; a steal for $65 we started with an amuse bouche of tuna tartar, followed by wild mushroom toasts and smoked salmon toasts; then an asparagus salad with 63 degree Jidori egg, then jail island salmon with tomato and olive salsa, followed by braised beef short rib with truffled polenta, a palate cleansing mango sorbet and for dessert, blueberry pie. Also to note was the Hudson valley seared foie gras for an additional $10; definitely worth it as I've paid more for less Foie! Service by Ben was on point! Stemware is great. Great little hidden gem in Wayne. If you love a creative chef with fantastic combinations you need to give ATT a try. I am not positive why they have $$$$. The price was extremely reasonable and I would rate them at $$$ or even a high $$. Must try the Asparagus salad and the burrata salad is amongst the best I have ever had. The preparation and plating of the food was visually appealing and prepared you for the flavorful explosion of taste. The service is always 5 stars and the chef does his best to stop by the tables and talk about the special dishes he created that night. The quality of food and flavors rivals any tasting menu in Philly. One nice part about this place is you can order a la cart or the tasting menu. Either way you will have a great experience. Given all the rave reviews, we decided to try this place. Huge mistake! There were 7 of us and we went with the Chef's 6 course tasting menu. First course was scallops, and it definitely was not fresh as we could smell the fishiness the moment the servers brought our plates. That bad start spoilt our entire evening. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes were nothing to shout about either. After dinner, we ordered an expresso but was served a big cup of regular coffee instead! We had high hopes coming into this restaurant because its reviews were good. We had something to celebrate and thought this was the perfect spot for that. The 5-course menu looked good and simple enough and we were therefore waiting for what a reviewer had termed "French food at its finest"... None of that came: we were served large plates of heavy dripping food - too much food for a 5-course menu, and not refined at all (crab avocado toast?) It was difficult to make up the different tastes involved. Worst was that each of the course had nothing in common with the next - some were good, all were heavy. Absolutely amazing meal and experience hosting our private event at At The Table. It was a very intimate experience with the chefs coming out to talk to the gusts and explain each course. Moved to Chesterbrook from NY early this year for good. This is French food at its finest. Flavor and presentation are both on a par with NYC'S most polular choices such as Per Se and Le Bernadin, if not more explosive and refined. Its unpretentiousness made our family including a 5-year old feel homy. The service from the staff was so warm and second to none. We had a fantastic time. Came here during restaurant week. Fully expected mostly bang for your buck -esq value, left questioning If I should take a job in Philly to be able to eat here monthly. You ever start a relationship with an inanimate object? Me neither, asking for a friend, who said they would marry this menu if given the option. While the food could have easily been priced for three times as much as I paid, I would say the equally created value of my dining experience was provided by the executive chef and the service staff. The service staff went out of their way to make sure I got to participate in the BYOB mission, while the chef sent out extra plates to ensure My heart was filled with happiness/fois gras. I came alone to this meal, and didn't feel that way for a second. The music was also on point. I found it hard not to bop a little. Five stars. We went to At The Table a few weeks ago for dinner. The food quality was very impressive. We liked everything we ate, and the food was very creative. This place is definitely on the pricey side especially for a BYOB. I think our bill came to $100/person, so just keep that in mind. For that price I would expect really good service, but the service was not on par with the food quality. Our waiter didn't even bother to pour the wine into a glass. The interior of the former creperie got a quick sprucing up, but they kept the same chairs. The chairs were fine for a quick crepe, but they are not comfortable enough for a $100/person dinner. We will definitely be back to try it again, but they are pricing themselves out of being a regular stop. read more

We both decided on the sampler which we worried would be too much food (not to mention too much money) but our fears were laid to rest on the first course. My table mate had the oysters while I chose the caviar. The portion was small in size (allaying our fears of too much food) but gigantic in taste (justifying the price). We have been cooking a lot at home lately and have become quite good at it. This leads us to harshly judge restaurant food and we are often disappointed when our date night meal is worse than home. So we were very happy to acknowledge that we could not (in any way close) make our first course at home. The remaining courses followed that alignment and we were exceedingly pleased with tonight's dinner here! My favorite courses were 1 (caviar) and 5 (venison). Thank you, chef, for indulging me with the request to turn my rare venison into a less-rare version which was exactly the way I wanted it. You read my mind when you revised it!! Perfect. The food was wonderful and exceeded our expectations (even though they were already high). This review is way too late, it slipped through the cracks I guess, so I will concentrate on saying that this restaurant brings the first attempt at haute cuisine to the Main Line in... how long? Maybe ever? Wow. The chef has trained under too many chefs to list and it shows. His cuisine is classically inspired but inventive. It reminds me of Nick Elmi (he may have studied under him) in its visual appeal and meandering across the plate, but at the same time it isn't as time-consuming in its construction if that makes sense. Lots of colors and textures and flavors and none are in your face, just elegant. The service is impeccable, we came shortly after the restaurant opened and they had more than enough staff. After last night's dinner, I understand why At The Table is rated 5 stars on Yelp (which, 5 stars is rare to find). The food, the detail, the presentation, the taste... 5 stars across the board. The service was wonderful, and we had the opportunity to meet the lovely owners, husband and wife, who are both extremely passionate about their business, customer service, food, etc. This is the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, etc., which is what we were doing, but we'll be back again soon to try the next menu as we enter the Fall season. We arrived at At the Table mistakenly 30 min early to meet friends who had chosen this place for our rendezvous dining! So impressed with hospitality of Isaac our waitstaff; immediately seated in this charming cozy contemporarily decorated in shades of silver and gray! A reservation is a MUST with only 26 seats; yet easy to obtain. We were greeted w prix fixe menu shown and the adventure commenced on a dining delight! Surprised by the 'Sunday Night' prix fixe choice; turned out to be sublime! My hubs and chose opposite based on our preferences; yet both were DELIGHTED with our choices! So much so, neither felt compelled to share; but of course we each 'snagged a bite' from the other! The portions appeared small in beginning of courses, but proved to exactly perfect! Left to my own cravings I would have gorged on the salmon w capers toast points and missed out on the exquisite following courses! All courses were so yummy each of us totally forgot to take photos of the FOOD! VERY CREATIVE in the pairings of flavors! Tomato Burrata salad was exquisite! Freshest cheese in memory! I would have appreciated more slices of the paper thin heirloom tomato and a second sliver of the totally surprising watermelon triangle! But, the salad was quite refreshing and left our mouths watering for our 3rd course; mine again was salmon, succulently prepared w skin on grilled to crunchy perfection atop tiny heirloom tomatoes seasoned with sautéed fennel and was SOOOOO good!! Halibut was flaky cube w crispy top that surrendered to succulent grouping and our red wine complimented it better than our Far Niente Chardonnay. AND the chocolate pecan pie w espresso cream was PERFECT ENDING to the meal! All portions were minimal yet perfection! Had to be less than 1000 calories total! The mushroom toast was so delicious. It almost could've been a meal. The crab cakes were good but I don't care for the chopped red pepper in them. I wish I would've ordered the scallops. My friend said the duck breast was really good. The service was impeccable. We were seated directly in front of the musicians so it was a bit loud which made conversation a little tough. A little heavy on the salt on my short rib ravioli but I think that came down to being over zealous about a particular salt product in general. Very personable and cheery staff who seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. More attention to the fine details of the dining experience will put this place into a truly uncompromising five star experience. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go for a while and we finally made it in. We thought, as first timers, we HAD to give the Chef's Tasting Menu a try and it DID NOT disappoint. The owners and chefs, Alex and Tara are SO insanely talented at what they do. We appreciated every small detail in the plates (which there were a lot!), the food was out of this world, and the EXPERIENCE was even better (if possible). Truly worth every penny. Three of us ate at the restaurant on Thursday. We live in Center City with many many great restaurants around us. Compared to those this was way over. We had the mushroom toast appetizer with five mushrooms. All of them extremely ordinary. Not a Porcini, morel or chanterelle among them. The pasta was decent, but overpriced at $30. I had such a fantastic meal here! First, it's an adorable spot for a date night or a family gathering. It's intimate and feels really cozy. The food was incredible! In particular, all the toasts were a really delicious way to start (the duck rillettes are sensational). I then had the Fettuccine carbonara which was incredible, but my favorite was the taste of the short ribs, which melted in my mouth! Two of my friends and I are trying all the local French restaurants. This month we visited At the Table. I was sorry for it NOT to meet the overall expectations given the reviews. There was one Hostess/server who started every question with "Are we" or "Do we." Totally unrelatable and patronizing for the evenings dining experience. The atmosphere is LOUD and décor, uninspiring. The food was delicious but pricey for the amount that came on the plate. Please note: the scallop dish comes with 2 scallops. Delicious and delightful fine dining without the pretense. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the chef's table. The 6 course menu was well balanced and thoughtfully prepared. We went there recently and I would give 5 stars for the delicious food and service . I gave three stars because of my concern for too many people there during COVID and two of the servers had long hair that was wasn't pulled back while serving food to our table and bandanas are also needed for the men who are preparing food.
