If I could give a zero I would! I've been going to this place off and on for years until I finally started seeing a nail tech that did a decent job. The nail tech I would see would blatantly ask if I could pay her tip in cash because the owner would take forever to give them the their tips. On another occasion I asked if she could give me a backfill but she told me she wanted to leave early for a trip and instead did the white gel that only lasted 3 days!! You would think I would learn my lesson but continued to go because I'm not familiar with other nail shops. Well... I went two weeks ago for a fill and a week later noticed that my nail hurt and looked green and puffy!!! Yup infection!!! I went to the doctors and was told it was infection from DIRTY TOOLS!!!! My toes have been sheltered from sunlight for quite some time now. I wanted to get a pedicure before heading to Phoenix, but walking through the snow in flip flops just does not interest me. Nico's mom and grandma go to V-K's so I gave them a try. I walked in without an appointment and had to wait about 20 minutes before Jenna started her magic. It was very nice that they let me wait in the pedicure chair to enjoy the chair massage and warm water on my tootsies. The pedicure itself was great. Jenna gave me a fabulous foot and leg massage and all for $20, which is what I spend in Spokane. I couldn't have been happier about that. I will be back for my next pedicure next time I'm back in Phoenix. read more

Knowing that Saturdays are always busy my friends and I scheduled an appointment. We waited thirty minutes to be seated, and by the time they got to me my two friends were done. When I asked if it was ok that i not get my pedicure I was given attitude and asked why not. I have been there a few times and it was ok they do give pretty good foot massages. read more

Of course they're only human so I'm sure sometimes someone might have something negative to say but I've been going here over a year and have yet to be disappointed. Price is great, always happy with my nails (and I'm picky). Super attentive, I went in once and asked for acrylic gel nails and pedicure and had to be done in an hour and they finished with time to spare and my nails still were perfect despite the time crunch. I decided to give this place a try despite all the bad reviews, I was in the area and they were able to get me in without a wait. The place is nicely decorated and the girls were all very personable. I showed Christeen my tech a photo of a design I wanted on my gel manicure and she was able to replicate it perfectly :) while my hands were drying in the top coat stage she even came over and gave me an AMAZING shoulder massage!! Customer service is always top for me and this place def won me over, glad I decided to not listen to everyone else this time around. read more

I went to this salon because my friend recommended me, but it was not a good experience. Basically the nail associate walked away repeatedly while doing my nails to run the desk, then she disregarded the simple line art I wanted on my nails and did something really ugly and different. I asked her to redo it, and she gave me a hard time about it. When she redid the nails they were a mess and lumpy. Sadly they chipped that day and every nail was chipped or gone three days later. I have been going to this place for close to a year now and I WILL NOT go back. They have never done an excellent job but has been decent (which is why I kept going back). I'm pregnant and due any day now and thought to treat myself before the big D day! I ask for a pedicure and gel Manicure. The lady doing the pedicure talked me into trying a dip manicure instead of gel. She said it makes your nails stronger and last longer and is healthier. She failed to inform me of the increase in price for the dip and a different lady did my manicure. Not only did she do a horrid job on the manicure, when I asked if she could file my nails a little more she handed me the nail file and sat back. I had to try and shape my nails best I could from how short she made them. Then She did a horrible job applying the dip and left my cuticles smothered in acrylic so when they dried it was stuck all over my skin. She didn't even try to fix it or file anything down. The pictures provided are from the day I got the manicure and after I had tried my best to peel off the dip/acrylic from my skin. Two days later the rest came off my skin but then Looked all chunky with missing pieces at the base of my cuticle. I went back asking if it can be removed and gel applied since I was not happy with it and she had an attitude the whole time and was on her phone talking very rude like in her language which made me uncomfortable considering the circumstance. She removed the dip/acrylic and instead of cleaning up my cuticles and getting all the access hard acrylic off she started gel application over all the left over chunks. I asked if she could clean up my nails first before applying the gel and she handed me the cuticle clippers and told me to do it. I'm sorry, I don't know how to use a cuticle clipper so she handed me the nail file. Once again I had to clean up my own nails with a nail file before she applied the gel. The owner completely Condoned this and didn't offer any type of complimentary service or a refund to correct this terrible experience. When the lady was done..I asked for the owner once more and the owner was suddenly unavailable. A fresh manicure should have you feeling good about yourself not wanting to hide your fingers! read more

Another nail tech came by and started rushing my technician to open up a chair since they were getting overbooked with walk ins. I have been there on multiple occasions. Each time I try to give them the benefit to the doubt that they will do better. No! They only continue to mess up my nails, do poor quality work, rushing people in and out but not giving any apologies for they way they have messed up or better yet try to fix it Etc. When I worked at my last job, this was the closest nail salon that I could sneak to on my lunch break, so with an AJ's Diet Coke in hand, I would meet my sis for a lunchtime treat. In fact, it's here that I saw the email come in for the interview that led to my dream job working for yelp! But sentiments aside, I think this is a very decent nail salon. I'm torn between three and four stars on this one. The salon itself is just ok. The pedicure massage chairs are really comfortable and provide an excellent massage but they are worn down. The towels they provide you to cover your legs during the massage are stained with old nail polish and while I know it's just nail polish and they are clean, it's a little icky to look down at a dirty towel on your legs. They don't use utensils in the sterile bags, but everything they use is clean and I've never had a problem. The staff here is so friendly and very professional. They do an excellent job on both pedicures and manicures. My nails won't chip for a long time after my service and I leave feeling revived and refreshed. But most importantly, let me talk about their massages. I am a huge sucker for a nail salon who offers an extensive massage to go with the service. I mean that's the whole reason you go to get your nails and toes done in the first place right? Well, V-K knows how to live up to expectations! They do about a 10 minute leg massage on each leg as well as an extensive arm massage as well. In addition, they offer a neck and shoulder massage if you get a manicure. I always leave my little service feeling like I was at a spa all day long. And it's only $30 for a mani/pedi. Not a bad deal if you ask me! I don't make it here a soften as I'd like to anymore, but when I'm in the area I make sure I stop by. Plus, they have free Wii-Fi!! read more

I've got two words for you people. Well, technically one word and one hyphenated slang term. Regardless, it is FREE WIFI. That's right, at the freaking nail salon! I realize that I have issues when I judge my nail salons solely upon internet access, but it is a beautiful thing when you can get a pedicure in the middle of the workday and not get busted for it because you are fully functional from your laptop the entire time!! That said, it is also a nicely sized, CLEAN facility that is surprisingly inexpensive considering it's location on the corner of Central Ave and Camelback. I used to pay an extra $5 in Scottsdale and at least another couple of bucks in Tempe as well. The nail techs are all delghtful and speak english as well, which as most of you know, is not often the case. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes before I'm in a chair with my feet in hot water, including New Years Eve, which is pretty incredible. My toes always come out looking lovely which is the icing on the cake. Price is right, quality is right, staff is right, wifi is oh so right, consider me a customer for life! read more

Highly recommend coming here :) I've been looking for a new spot for around a year on this side of town since I'm new in the area and I don't even know where to begin on how happy I am that I found this place. Especially when it comes to getting a pedicure for me with my past experiences with other salons. I called in advance to see if they take walk in or by appointment, which they take both, right of the bat they sounded so polite, happy and offered if I wanted to set an appointment up so I wouldn't have to wait but that it was whatever I preferred. I arrived and they where all so nice and patient which is such a first for me compared to everywhere else I've gone these past years. I arrived and from beginning to end the service was AMAZING. The girl that did my pedicure is named Kim. Which I will definitely be coming back to her! :) Overall great customer service, super nice, clean, affordable, friendly and I am so pleased with my pedicure. I seriously recommend this place. I made an appt for a mani and pedi after a recommendation from my neighbor. Her toes had the cutest designs on them and she told me about this place. I had a pedicure and got a cool design of my own on my piggies :) Then I had a gel manicure. Its a regular manicure but then they use a special gel nail polish which will last about 2-3 weeks. Bonus! My nails look great and I am a happy customer. You can add a tip on a credit card purchase, however, cash tips are preferred. read more

Been to various nail techs around town, in addition to resorts like Montelucia, and Ivy at VK still does a better job. The gels last 2-3 weeks, as do just regular polish on your toes, and her work is flawless! Not to mention the massage chairs...they are amazing. I've been coming to this salon for a long time, and have been seeing these technicians since they had their central and camelback location. However, the professionalism of their new employees is lacking. I came in yesterday for a mani/pedi and both technicians seemed to rush through the service. The woman who did my manicure rushed through my service and then facetimed a friend, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME as I waited for my nails to dry. I can understand the occasional text or call back as many of these women have children. But to video chat a friend while other patrons are waiting for services?? That seems unacceptable. Not to mention their questionable sterilization processes. They always use the same tools on multiple clients and I don't see them thoroughly clean anything. I'm sad to see my favorite nail salon has fallen so far from where they were. The older nail technicians who have been with the salon for many years are very nice and do a wonderful job but there are definitely better salons in the Phoenix area. read more

I've been here a handful of times as it is the closest pedicure place in Cen Pho, but like many other reviews have mentioned, unfortunately it seems that often the wait is a lot longer than they quote you for- and you're already sitting in the chair so it seems ridiculous to leave after thirty minutes of doing so. That being said, they give great massages and know how to do it up when they do get to you. I recently brought in a couple men who hadn't had pedicures in a few years and they were pretty good sports about the gnarliness of their feet. They were very rude to me today. I called and made an appointment over the phone, I was asked what I wanted and I told them a gel manicure, and they were very nice and said that was okay. I went in and asked for something that I had seen on my phone (the Hailey Bieber nails) and they said to make it easier for them and for me to just choose a color from the gel selections. The gel colors didn't even have something I wanted, so I just chose a random color. I asked if they could do the nails I had wanted with regular nail polish, not gel, and they said I could do dip polish with that and I said okay. The manager lady at the front proceeded to come over and yell at me in front of everyone and said she had told me over the phone she didn't have time for anything other than gel (she didn't say this to me). Of course the nail tech had offered me a full set of acrylics prior to this which would probably take longer than dip polish. I was very embarrassed and told them that I was just asking, and didn't need it to turn into a big deal. I felt like I could burst into tears and the nail tech yanked my hand toward her several times without saying a word and was just very rough with me. I almost left crying. I won't be back. read more

Is it worth it?? I'll let you decide. I probably had the best pedicure ever at this salon on Saturday. When I read the reviews for this place, I knew I had to go. I was sold when I heard something about wi-fi. I actually wasn't able to get online, but I was enjoying my pedicure so much, I probably wouldn't have been able to get any work done anyway. It is true that the massage was pretty amazing. On top of that, my nail technician had really amazing attention to detail. The place is also really clean. They scrub their tubs immediately following the pedicure which is very settling. The things holding me back from giving it a full 5 stars are the fact that I wasn't able to get online, and the price. Well my best friend, her daughter, my daughter, and myself are all visiting Arizona . We are from San Diego, Ca. We made the trip out here to check up on my Friends mom and spend sometime touring around Phoenix. We decided to get our nails done because in San Diego our nail salons are not open yet due to covid-19. We were super excited! When we got to this nail place they took us right away which was good. But as soon as we were all seated 3 of the nail techs were all talking to each other and laughing. Not one of them said a word to us. And it looked like 2 of them were arguing at one point. It was a very uncomfortable feeling, it sounded like they were all talking shit about us. At my job I have learned a little Vietnamese over the years working there and I didnt appreciate some of the things that were said. When we went to pay my acrylics were $40, My daughters pedi was $40. My friend paid $118 for a french gel manicure a pedicure and a fill with regular polish. We were not told any price before we sat down. My daughter picked a $15 pedi and was told with gel polish it was $15 extra so it should have been $30 but i was charged $40. We will never go back there again. We are from out of town but my friend is out here a lot to see her mom and her mom goes there all the time . I would recommend NOT going here! I usually see Hannah here and have always had wonderful experiences with her. Yesterday, I dropped in and Hannah was off. I decided to try another lady and it was a mistake. I've never had such an awful manicure or experience. -She cut my cuticle. -She was rude, ignored me, and did not speak to me except to tell me what I owed and to ask if I had cash for a tip. Not one word! Even after cutting me. -She got the polish and powder all over my finger tips and scoffed when I asked that she remove it. -She reached into her shirt to scratch her breast three times that I counted. Unprofessional and gross. -Not one drop of lotion because I got powder? When I asked about the massage I get with gel manicure, she said "no, because you got powder," and pointed to the lotion bottle on the front counter. -My nails are not filed evenly. Several nails are at an upward slant, but when I examined my nails outside, I was too angry to go back. If you visit this location and they direct you to the female on the first full row, second station from the left, refuse. My brother and I dropped in here last week for some mid-day pampering. We were there for almost an hour for just pedicures! You might want to keep that in mind if you are in a hurry, but for me taking a few days off in the middle of the week, it was great. They have the massage chairs and tailor the warm/hot water to your temp preference. The girl who did my feet was awesome. Generally, I am not in a talkative mood during a pedicure but she was funny and very nice. My brother said she must have loved me because she worked on my legs and feet forever. The pedis were $20 and then I got the callous remover for an extra $5. I know that the basecoats and topcoats are standard but it seemed like she did some extra stuff to the polish and my toes look great. They do clients on rotation so I was waiting for a little while for the person who was up next to arrive to service me. The massage was great. She is very hard to get an appointment with because people like me book WAAAAAAAY in advance to sit in her chair. On occasion, I've let my acrylic fill go too long and been unfortunate enough to have to get an emergency nail repair done when I've been traveling... the nail tech that does the repair comments on how good my nail tech back home is!!! So, for that alone, these guys get 5 stars from me! Now, for all you people who do the mani and pedi... I've heard [and seen] how great the massages are for the mani; I've even treated friends to manicures here and they were very happy. I've gotten plenty of pedi's myself [and brought my b/f] and we always get service that is just fine.
