We tried this place after seeing a couple tiktok about other people trying it on too good to go. We paid $5.99 to fill our own container with food from the hot bar. The workers was relatively friendly without being smiley. Which I don't mind. I dont really smile much myself. We had a little bit of everything from the hot bar - roasted meat, sauteed zuchinni and onions, noodles, mixed rice and more. I really enjoyed the rice despite it looking pretty simple. But whatever sauce was placed on top made it ultra delicious. The bbq pork was on the dryer side but the flavor was there. So I have no complaints. I found it very tasty for a small older spot. I'd like to come back for fresher items and the roasted meats. Also, side note - Some of the other reviews are strange. How can you rate them a 2/5 for things out of their control like graffiti and you hadn't even tried the food before reviewing. Thats wild. read more

My parents are a fan of the roast pork here for the price and taste. I think it is fine and prefer other shops over this one. We also tried their combo plates and I found them lackluster. The food was pretty greasy and left me with a sore throat after eating. Did not enjoy the barbecue pork that I ate which was hard and dry. Unfortunately, this place shadows the other barbecue spots that reside closer to the main streets of Chinatown such as Kau Kau simply because of location. Because of that, I feel there's a need to consider the traffic flow which will definitely affect freshness among other factors. Owner (I think) is super nice and friendly. Older gentleman was very welcoming and accommodating. I see other reviews mentioning service is whatever so I think speaking Chinese definitely helped. It won't change the food or anything, but it's just nice to speak to people every so often. I've been looking for duck wings for a while for my mother but all the barbecue spots only sell the rest of the duck. Bummer but this spot also does not have duck wings. Their pork is pretty solid though. I thought it was tender and juicy but my friend noted it was too soft which felt weird. I think the value here is one of the best among the barbecue spots in the International District, price is low and you get a strong amount of food. Other places may have higher quality but they are definitely pricey in comparison so this is a nice budget spot. Yakisoba is pretty standard, nothing to highlight or comment on. The fried fish was pretty hard on the outside, potentially old, but the inside was tasty. If it were heated up more or fresher, I'm sure it would taste amazing but again, the traffic here isn't the best as it's a little out of the way from the majority of Chinatown restaurants. read more

I came here twice now and the first time I got a lunch combo. They gave a lot of food for under $8. It served me for both lunch and dinner! It's not amazing but it's still good. It was rice with some proteins and veggies. I recently came back to try some of there bbq meat and is pretty surprised. I got the bbq pork and the roasted pork. The bbq pork was flavorful, juicy and tender. It was actually better than kau kau ( we went to kau kau right after to try). The roasted pork was good, but not amazing. The skin was crispy but not super crispy and the flavor was balance. The price of the meat was very reasonable in comparison to the other bbq places in the area. Too bad storefront is hit by graffiti. Used a coupon app that "to good to go" app that allows to buy a lesser price so good doesn't go to waste. I had from 10:00 -5:00 to pickup. I can understand why people would be a bit down on this place from a purely food served here standpoint. It's a relatively limited menu (though they've got some fun, colorful stuff) with a small seating area. Why the big five you ask...The meat! Stamp it, this place has the best roasted pork we've ever tasted! Crispy skin, roasted perfectly and with next level flavor...and they cut it up in front of you! We love markets in other countries as there's just something about pointing at roasted meat and them cutting it up with a huge knife! Such is the case here and thus our love of this gem of Chinatown! Roasted pork, BBQ pork, Chicken, Duck, and other magic animals blast their meat laden siren song first through the front window and then to your mouth as the crispy symphony sings with each bite! But seriously, the pork is good enough to take a couple pounds home. Sold by the pound, you get as much or as little as your little heart desires and should probably spring for an extra pound - you'll thank me later. Tried this place for the first time today as part of the TooGoodToGo surprise bag app. Always wanted to go in before, the smoked ducks hanging in the window are really tempting. But it was terrible. What we ended up with was a serving of white rice, a scoop of mixed vegetables, a scoop of... sweet and sour breading? and some kind of battered fried meat. The meat smelled pretty fishy, but I tried a bite anyway: nope. It tasted as bad as it smelled. The sweet and sour breading might at one time have surrounded bits of protein, but there was none to be found in ours. Just mushy red stuff. The vegetables were super oily and had been in the warmer tray for quite a while. Threw it all out. At least I was only out six bucks. Will not go back. read more

I hear some complaints about it being "too spicy", maybe those people are being "too soft" don't get spicy stuff then or go somewhere else and give them a bad review instead. They had it Chinese fast food style with all the dishes out under heat lamps. I asked the guy behind the counter in Chinese, "do you have cha sui pork?" He said yes they sell it by the pound. I asked for a pound, then he asked me if I wanted two pounds. No sir a pound already is too much, I do not need 2 lbs. Then he proceeds to overchop the meat and goes "oh it's over a pound is that ok?" Fine sir fine. $7.50/lb, I ended up paying $9. Guy tries to sell me a duck. No I do not want a duck! First off, with cha sui pork, usually it's sitting in the sauce stewing kind of from what I am used to. Then when a piece is sold, they chop it up for you and pour some sauce on it. not this place, it's hanging like they hang the BBQ ducks. So the meat wasn't even juicy. I got back to the office to eat it, and the meat was terrible. Seems like it has been sitting out overcooked for some time now. I am tempted to bring it back and ask for money back, but I don't want to go back on the bus towards Chinatown again. Point of my review is: the cha sui pork was dry, overcooked, and not good at all. My go to BBQ Kau Kau is closed on Tuesdays, so I thought I gave this place a try since I was craving roast pork and duck lunch plate combo. I walked in and the gentlemen started asking me if I want fried rice, sure, veggies, sure. But as soon as he started moving toward the other hot food, I told him I wanted roast pork and not the hot food items. He then proceeded to cut me some roasted pork. He charged me $11.75 for fried rice, veggies and 1 meat item. I didn't want to argue with him since I clearly see that 1 choice of meat is $7.95. When I walked back to my office and opened the container, I realized he gave me shitty roast pork. The skin was soggy and cold. The fried rice had zero flavor. I took a few bites and threw the whole lunch away. I will not go this place again, will not support a business that sells you shitty food. I love Chinese BBQ, and its sad that there are not more great Chinese BBQ places in Seattle, I always trying out new ones, but this one is not one of the good ones. I came here for a quick lunch and orders what I always do when I try out a new Chinese BBQ place, a combo a roast pork and BBQ pork, with a upgrade to fried rice. I know things were going to go badly when I saw the fried rice was taken out from a bowl on the counter, but at least the meat was freshly cut. They also offered to reheat it is up with a microwave for me which is kind of insane that they don't have it hot. As for the food, it was meat were eatable, but bland. The roast pork wasn't as juicy as in the good places, you can see the harden fat on it. The BBQ pork was better but still there are alot of places that does it better. SO delicious I nearly shed tears into my food. I was introduced to this restaurant through the Too Good To Go app and so happy I was. My husband and I bought a $5.99 surprise bag and showed up with two tupperwares expecting to be given whatever hadn't sold for the day, maybe some roasted chicken or something. The guy who was working packed the containers full of pork egg rolls, fried juicy dark meat chicken, sausages, tofu, soy sauce chicken wings, and rice so full the lids wouldn't close. Everything was super fresh and full of spices. I'm usually a very slow eater -- my husband always eats 2-3x faster than I do, but this is the only occasion I kept up with him and finished my food at the same time. It probably took us five minutes to finish everything despite how much food there was. I wish I would have taken a picture, but I was too excited to eat and didn't think of it. When I was a kid my mom never really cooked much, so experiencing food that really feels like a homemade family recipe is a special experience for me. Here's another place I found through an Asian buddy that serves up excellent roast duck, roast pork, roast chicken, and BBQ pork. The meat is soft and juicy, the pork skins are crackling and crispy and they top it on a ton of steamed rice only $5.50 lunch special as their lunch special. I usually ask for their hot oil chili and mix it in with the meat sauce for a great dipping companion. If they had vegetables too it would be perfect! Considering the $5.99 or whatever it was we paid, he gave us a very full and impressive looking box lunch that we took home. 1 large serving of thin yellow noodles stir-fired with bell peppers and onions, dry and with little taste. One serving of mapo tofu, this was actually decent. 6-7 soy sauce chicken wings, bland and lifeless, dry. And 2 large garlic fried drumsticks, the coating tasted good but the meat was still pink inside. I'm a guy who loves to eat and rarely throws away food. The majority of this went into the trash. Usually I'm one to overlook a red flag or two, but there were just too many bad things about this purchase. Fortunately I did not experience any gastro issues. The bbq meats in the front window did look promising. Maybe on another visit. Maybe. He also charged us a dollar for the to-go container so bring your own. read more

I would recommend avoiding this place. The roast pork is frequently dry and seems not fresh. When I took back what I had bought the next day and asked for some in the hot food section the next day it gave me an upset stomach to be polite. DON'T GO HERE. I was tired and hungry and went inside. They had sausage cooked in red breading, strange, but I ordered it. When the server scooped it onto a plate of noodles he took from a bowl in which the noodles were dry on top, I knew I was in for something bad.
