This place was awesome. We were here on a Sunday around 2, so it wasn't terribly busy. The ambiance is low key and casual, well lit and very specious. The server was very attentive, graciously answered all our questions about different menu items and made suggestions when we asked what was good. We got several steaks and a burger, the kids got sliders, a grilled cheese and the Alfredo pasta. We ended up getting drinks as well (the sangrias were enormous!) and a dessert platter. Everything came out perfectly and all the food was amazing. The service was great the entire time, and overall it was a fantastic experience. 10/10 would come here again. This place was amazing! The food was delicious. I shared the ASADO fries and a variety of the empanadas with my husband. My sister ordered the Utah burger. We all love our food. It was very flavorful and high quality, fresh ingredients. They served the fries will an asortment of meats on top plus a generous amount of cheese. They also brought out two sauces that were ANAZING. One was a chimichurri and the other had a texture like pico but a unique (to me) flavor . The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions about the food with patience and kindness. This was my first Argentinian food experience. I will go back anytime I am visiting the area. Perhaps I'm a bit biased because my son is on his way to Argentina, and I've always loved anything and everything Latino, especially the food. Maybe I'm also biased because good folks like Aitor manage this amazing establishment. All I know is, I love Asado. Get the fries and be happy--they dump enough chorizo, steak, and sauteed veggies onto the plate that you don't need any sauces to wash down the starchy goodness of double fried potatoes. The sandwiches are fantastic, too, but as the name of the restaurant suggests, if you're visiting Asado and don't try anything steak-like, you're missing out. Asado's meats are juicy, tender, flavorful, excellently seasoned, a little pricey, but well worth it. I don't think the menu notes the quality of the meat, i.e. choice vs prime, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that they're using prime grade beef. Seriously, if you're thinking of giving this place a shot and haven't tried it yet, go there now. Or tomorrow. Or at least sometime soon. read more

We stopped into ASADO for lunch yesterday and if you haven't been to this spot yet you must go asap. All of the ingredients are so fresh, never frozen, and prepared with so much love that is translates into the amazing flavors of the food. I've heard great things about this place and have been wanting to try it out for a while now and it did not disappoint. The place is a sit down and definitely nicer than a regular diner/grill so if you were expecting a diner type grill place then maybe you'd be disappointed. Lol. Pricing is definitely $$/$$$(get that?!?) There were many grill items on the menu like sandwiches, burgers and deep fried items, but there were also plate items like fettuccini and salads. As an appetizer, they brought our cut bread with chimchurri and pico. Yum! We also got their chicken empanada and we're so pleased. I didn't realize they had eggs in their Empanadas in Argentina (more protein, brah). I ordered the Friday lunch special of fried fish sandwich and it was delicious. Not super fishy fish and nice flavors with it. It was massive and came with yummy fries (see pics) so I ate only half. Their chivito burger was also delicious with top sirloin, ham, bacon, mozzarella, and eggs (now this was another level of massive). Anyone eat like this everyday would definitely look like fat Thor from End Game in no time. Their milanesa burger was also very delicious. I had it with no veggies and it's definitely a kids dream. Yum! Well, the post meal food coma was totally unexpected. That was A LOT of food. Really great meats and burgers. I would definitely come back again. So glad that we found this place! I am always nervous trying something new, but they have the most delicious Argentinian food! The Food: 5 out of 5 Let me first say the juice was ammmazing! All fresh, all handmade in house. I had the Mango and hubby ordered the passion fruit. Totally worth the splurge here. I had the shrimp scampi and hubby had the Milanesa Napolitana. My favorite part of it was the skirt steak, it was smothered in this yummy sauce and cheese. They give you a LOT of food. I can't wait to come back and try the desserts, passion fruit cheesecake??? Oh my, yess! The food took a bit to arrive, because it is all fresh made. But we didn't mind waiting, they serve you bread and dipping sauce! This is a delightful surprise to have found in Orem. I was cruising the Yelps and saw it pop up, and I had to do a double take. I used to live in Argentina, and I thought my Argentine radar knew about all the spots to score empanadas, milanesa, y alfajores in the valley, but I was wrong. It's a new restaurant that focuses on a more upscale Argentinian menu. It's located in the same complex as Pizzeria 712, just a bit to the east. I don't know much about this whole development, except that it seemed to sit idle for a really really long time, and now that there's a lot of hustle, it looks like the bottom floor retail spaces will fill out. I have high hopes, and with the installation of this restaurant, it's headed in the right direction. Inside, it's not terribly large. There are some common seating areas and some more private-y spots to the left. There's also a bakery case with some items that appear to be there to take on the go. But it's a sit-down spot with servers and a nice menu. The menu covers some Argentine basics, for sure. You have your milanesas and empanadas. You also get ñoquis (gnocchis), sandwiches, salads, and choripan. The real shining star for me, though, is the parrillada. ALL THE GRILLED MEATS. I mean, this is what is at the core of Argentine culture--such a beef-filled country and the parrillada is a parade of the meats. There are two offerings--one authentic with the sweet breads and blood sausage, and one for the less acclimated palate, the Parrillada Utah, which takes away the offal and replaces it with more traditional cuts of beef. There are also some steaks on the menu, including a 36-ounce grilled ribeye that will run you around $75. I'm curious to see if that will stick around, as any new restaurant really puts menu items in flux. I did the right thing. I ordered the Parrillada Utah to share between two people. They ended up bringing me the Parrillada Asado with the sweet breads, but we decided just to roll with it. First off, it's plenty of food for two, and was meant to be shared. I think three would actually share it okay, as we had plenty to take home and share. I'm told the leftover blood sausage was a hit. All of the meat was well-seasoned, and though I would probably get it more medium-rare, we settled on medium and I was happy with the texture. Chorizo, ribs, skirt steak--it was hot and good. A little ensalada rusa for contrast and I was happy. They'll tighten things up, I'm sure. The order snafu, the off-balance service--they're still getting their rhythm and there was a lot there to like. In fact, there's a really wide menu so if you're super into Argentinian food or a novice, you can jump in and start trying things more familiar (pasta, for example) and then go deeper into the cuisine. It brought me back to the days of northern Argentina, and that made me pretty happy. I got to try out my rusty castellano only to be showed up by some sharp español, but it was all a good experience I'd happily have again. read more

We had heard amazing things about Asado and it's been on my list since they opened. First off, I felt like the menu was split up into two sections: the high-roller menu and the poor man's menu. The first half was appetizers and sandwiches, which were decently priced, but then in the other side, it jumped to the 30-50s per dish of churrasco meat. Though those options looks astonishingly delicious, we came for a more conservative meal that night so we stuck to the cheaper side of the menu. The Spicy Steak sandwich: the meat was the absolute best part. Nice render steak with a chimmichurri spread. The bread was tasty but fell apart in your hands before even taking a bite. I ended up knife and forking it because it crumbled to pieces. The side salad was meh. But that should've been expected since South American salads are super simple and unflashy. It needed salt. The Asado Fries were the highlight of our meal! Fresh potato fries with flavorful carne asada with cheese and chimmichurri drizzle. Yum! I would've preferred more chimmichurri and more cheese. The fries also needed a little more salt. Lastly, the server was kind but the service was terribly slow. Let me start off by saying "get the Asado fries". They're amazing. Now for the rest of the story: the service was mixed. Our server was absolutely great. He was attentive and friendly and service oriented. The kitchen staff was super slow. I believe a larger group had arrived just before us, which probably contributed to the slowness, but there's no other way to put it; they seemed to move at a snails pace. Plus they forgot the fried egg on my wife's sandwich, and ironically, she had chosen that sandwich because it had a fried egg. The burger was under seasoned, but I like the bun they use. Asado's high reviews has had me wanting to try it out for a while. I finally swung by and was blown away - it is fantastic. Let's start with the courtesy bread they provide. Goodness gracious it is phenomenal. The sauces they provide are packed full of flavor and the bread is just perfect. The Aussie Asado burger is probably a top 3 burger I've ever had. I've also had the 16 oz skirt steak. This cut of meat isn't known for being particularly desirable. They did it great, though. Super juicy and full of flavor. It was a little over cooked - that would be my only complaint. My wife got a salad and was very underwhelmed. I'd say just stay away from salads here and you're gonna be good. Will certainly be returning here. In fact, I went here on a Saturday night. Came back for lunch two days later because it was so good. read more

As someone who has spent 2 1/2 years of his adult life living in Argentina, I was so excited to try this place. I was visiting from out of state and there are no Argentine restaurants anywhere near where I live. I'm so sorry to have to say this but I was sorely disappointed. This was nothing remotely close to Argentine cuisine. I started my meal with an empanada, something I've missed so much. I guess I'll have to keep on missing them as it tasted nothing like those served in Argentina. Oh well, at least I had my favorite entree coming - milanesa con puré de papas. Sadly it, too, was very disappointing. It was so flat and thin that I'm pretty sure it was grilled in some sort of press. The meat is supposed to be thin, yes, but the breading was like someone had run a rolling pin over it after it was cooked. It was almost transparent. In all fairness, the food wasn't completely awful. It just wasn't at all what one would expect from a true Argentine restaurant. And no one we dealt with there had an Argentine accent, either, which might explain the authenticity issue. I really wanted to like this place. I wish I did, but no. We have been here twice before and I thought the food was excellent. This time, I decided to order the 'Churassco', a 16 oz Rib Eye, the #1 item on the menu. I asked for 'medium-rare', and the steak I received was well done, good flavor but a little chewy. Almost no pink anywhere except on the edge. I expected melt in your mouth goodness for $36 dollars. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she said something along the lines of "we don't know how well it is cooked until you cut into it", which is weird because any chef worth his salt knows how long to cook each cut. Even after bringing it to the attention of the chef, there was no action taken. The waitress gave us a cookie at the end to make up for it. I left pretty upset. That is a lot to pay for an overcooked steak. Not sure I'll be coming back. read more

Asado has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. It's not normal, at least for me, to think of Argentine cuisine or something unique. Yet, a friend from Spain introduced me to Asado and I was instantly hooked. I've had lunch there five or six times now and continue to be more impressed. The food is absolutely exceptional. The owner is always there, always walking around, and always willing to help. Today he mentioned that they don't have a freezer, everything is fresh. My go to is the Lomito sandwich with Asado fries. If you order the fries as an appetizer they will feed at least four people. Today we also tried to calamari (yes, Argentine calamari, who knew) and it was delicious! Tender and perfectly prepared. The prices are high, but the portions are absolutely huge. I typically take some home (although most of it doesn't normally make it home). The desserts are all made fresh, daily, in house. I was worried that this place would be too exotic for our grandkids, but Asado proved to be the perfect choice for a family dinner. The empanadas were delicious, and the older children enjoyed their sliders and fries. The five-year-old carnivore devoured most of her steak. Son-in-law said his shrimp and rice was very good. But the piece de resistance was the Parrillada Utah, an assortment of grilled meats served on a box-shaped parrilla. The sausage, skirt steak, and chicken were delicious, with a nice char-grilled flavor. The meats were even more tasty when drizzled with the house chimichurri sauce. For sides, we chose the creamy potato salad and the yummy grilled vegetables--zucchini, asparagus and red pepper. My husband, our daughter and I shared the Parrillada and took home leftovers for the same price as a single rib steak. We continued our culinary experience by trying a few selections from the dessert menu. The chocolate cake had a dark flavor and a thick, fudgy frosting. The chaja cake was layered with dulce de leche and topped with meringue. Frankly, these cakes were a bit on the dry side, but the toppings made them interesting. We were interested in doing our company Christmas party here so we called and Julio invited us to come try the food during lunch to see if it was a good fit. It was the most delicious lunch. We were sold and the group pricing (we had 30 people) was very reasonable. The event night came and Julio and his staff took care of us so well that I, the event planner for the company, actually got to sit down and eat my meal hot instead of constantly making sure things were running smooth. I've been meaning to review this place for the longest time. I've gone probably over a dozen times in the last few years (which is a lot for any restaurant for my family and I). The food is amazing, and the service is some of the best I've had anywhere. The employees, and especially owners, are passionate about their food and making it a pleasant experience for their guests. I have tried most of their burgers, their steak offerings, several of their desserts, their Asado fries and even did the large parillada once with a few coworkers (that was a TON of amazing meat). Tip: ask for a side of chimichurri with whatever you are eating. They are always happy to oblige, and it really goes well with just about anything. Every single one of their desserts have been amazing. I have loved everything I have eaten there. If I were to give one critique, it would be that they could season their steak entrees better. I usually fix it myself by adding salt and chimichurri at the table. My favorite things are the Calamari Frito (best I've had anywhere), Aussie Asado Burger, Asado fries and the chaja cake (oh my goodness, this may be the best cake I've had from a restaurant in my life). Additionally, the bread they make themselves is amazing. It's a local restaurant run by great people that deserves all the love and support they get. Having lived in Argentina for three years and loving the food, I'm always looking for Argentine places to try out. One of the best and most famous meals in Argentina is the asado. We ordered the asado to share between two people and it was tons of food! Everything was pretty good, but didn't live up to expectations. The meat was kind of cold and didn't have the cooked over a fire taste that's essential for a good asado. Ironically, everything else besides the actual asado was great. We had the pineapple mint juice which is top notch. The empanadas were also fantastic. Ham & Cheese empanada was perfect and full of cheese. I got the Entraña Argentina cut and it was bursting with flavor. It was a bit tough and my jaws got tired but the portion was healthy and flavor was great. My wife got the steak salad. It was good, nothing to write home to mom about, but it was tasty.
