One of my favorite restaurants in Utah county is Asado! My wife and I had only ever had their steak sandwiches before (which are delish) but we went at dinner time, when they are no longer offered. This propelled us to try absolutely mouth-watering dishes that we dream about having again soon! ⁣ ⁣ In order of pictures, we tried the Entrana Argentina, Churrasco, Bacon Wrapped Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and the Entrana. All meats were superb, but the most flavorful was the Churassco. We will get that one next time for sure! The shrimp were absolute perfection. We all said WOW with every bite! Came here for birthday lunch and it was AMAZING! Our waitress took amazing care of us and was so funny. We had empanadas and calamari to start and the plate of calamari was huge! Even though we were basically full when we got our entrees, nothing went untouched. We were unfortunately disappointed with our food. I had a steak which was cooked well but lacked seasoning. The vegetable side was great, but side salad was very plain and not dressed well. My husband's burger was truly terrible. The meat was dry tough and overcooked, the egg was dried out and overcooked, there wasn't enough sauce to compensate for how overcooked everything was. The empanadas were just okay. Kids Mac and cheese appeared to be boxed Kraft Mac and cheese so pretty underwhelming. We did like the fries. I've been here before and it was pretty good so I recommended it to my friend to meet up here. We hadn't met up in 13 years but she was visiting Utah. The service and food were so terrible. It was embarrassing that I suggested this place to my friend. When we got there she was starving. They sat us down pretty quickly but after 15 minutes no one came to us. So I went and talked to the lady in the front. She was nice and brought us the bread appetizer but it took another 5 minutes before our order was taken. We waited a decent amount of time for our food. We both got empanadas that were pretty good. But our chicken dishes were so awful. The chicken was just warm and tough. It wasn't tasty or flavorful. I got mashed potatoes that certainly were from a box. SO disappointing! And my friend got veggies that they charged an extra dollar for even though we didn't see that on the menu. And her veggies were roughly cut big chunks of uncooked vegetables. I will never come back. I can't believe our experience was so bad and the food was terrible. First off the food was very good. The bread with the herb oil spread was seriously so good. My husbands steak was probably one of the most flavorful I've ever had at a restaurant, so good. My chicken was also very good and it's a huge piece of chicken. The fries were great and the house salad was very good too. The dressing was so light and fresh! I loved the whole meal. Only thing we didn't love was the horchata it was pretty thick. Definitely different than Mexican horchata which is to be expected. We were so happy with our date night choice and will definitely be back. Also the service was so good! Everyone was so nice and our server was great. Restaurant has a fun vibe. I just had lunch with my wife at my new favorite restaurant in Utah. We're in the process of moving here from Connecticut, so we haven't eaten out much, yet, but our meal was so good that I think it'll hold up as my favorite for a while; a LOOOONG while. Since we were at an Argentinian grill, of course we ordered the Parrillada Asado, which is a platter of various meats, mostly grilled. For the three included sides, we chose two house salads and veggies. Before the platter arrived, our delightful server Amara brought out some sliced bread with two sauces; a garlicky green chimichurri and an oniony red chimichurri, I think. I usually try to keep my carb intake in check, but not today, and I'm totally fine with that. I also enjoyed a horchata, which was big; exactly how an agua fresca should be. The salads were nicely presented, but a little plain. They had iceberg lettuce, slices of tomato and very thin slices of red onion, and were dressed with an oil and vinegar dressing flavored with a lot of dried herbs, mostly oregano. Eating it helped assuage my guilt over eating so very much meat. The Parrillada Asado was spectacular. It was piled high with short ribs (costela), flap steak, 1/2 chicken (rotisserie, I think), two sausages, blood sausage, sweetbreads, tripe, pork rib and three sides. The "tripe" was actually intestines (aka tripas aka chitterlings). Everything was terrific, although a little bit more salt would have gone a long way. Fortunately, Amara left us with the chimichurri sauces from the bread and they paired extremely well with the meats. My wife let me eat all of the blood sausage, sweetbreads and tripe. Go figure. However, she did NOT allow me to eat all of the Chaja that I ordered for dessert. I should have told Amara to bring out only one spoon with it. It's a layered yellow cake with a moist, coarse crumb and whipped cream frosting, cooked peach slices and a light meringue crumble. I'm normally not a fruit dessert kind of guy, but when Amara described the Chaja as the "House Special Cake", I HAD to try it and I'm really glad that I did. When Amara brought the check for me to sign at the end of the meal, she gave us a couple of Asado's Alfajores to go. Alfajores are cookies that look like big French macarons. I'll probably devour them after my nap. I'll keep trying new restaurants, but Asado has set the bar really high. I'm already looking forward to my next meal there. read more

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon when it wasn't that busy. As we entered we were greeted by a dessert display case. This place is dessert heaven! They had a variety of Latin desserts such as Chaja which is a white cake that's layered with peaches and whipped cream and another layer of caramel and cake, then topped with pieces of meringue. This is a must try! I was tempted to get their flan but didn't have room. They also have chocolate cake, tiramisu, passion fruit cheesecake, & mini fruit tarts. The service was great and the staff took the time to explain the different dishes. We had their mashed potato balls called papas rellenas. These are stuffed mashed potatoes with meat inside and then rolled into a ball and then breaded and fried. We also tried their empanadas and cooked to order skirt steak sandwich (Entrana sandwich) with fresh cut fries. Definitely have to have the chimichurri sauce to go with everything. I also recommend trying their maracuya drink (passion fruit juice). The food was a bit pricy but the quality is excellent. Can't wait to go back to try more dishes and desserts. read more

This place was the best meal on our recent ski trip to Colorado... yep, you read that right. Our best meal was in our own backyard on our way out of town. We live up north so we aren't in the area very much, but this place was well worth the stop. The service was slow, but very friendly. It was undoubtedly worth it. Empanadas: great pastry and fillings. They could've been heated up more though. Complimentary bread: absolutely amazing. The sauces for it were incredible and we actually asked if they sold any of it to go. It was so flavorful. Napolitana Milanesa: well worth the price. This dish was huge, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. All the ingredients tasted very high quality. My husband got a sandwich that he devoured. His fries were fresh cut and tasty. This place was amazing! The food was delicious. I shared the ASADO fries and a variety of the empanadas with my husband. My sister ordered the Utah burger. We all love our food. It was very flavorful and high quality, fresh ingredients. They served the fries will an asortment of meats on top plus a generous amount of cheese. They also brought out two sauces that were ANAZING. One was a chimichurri and the other had a texture like pico but a unique (to me) flavor . The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions about the food with patience and kindness. This was my first Argentinian food experience. I will go back anytime I am visiting the area. The prices were reasonable for the quantity, quality and deliciousness! I only wish I would have taken some pictures. I recommend giving this place a try. If you want some good, authentic Argentinian food, come here!! They have a wide variety of options and everyone at my table was very happy with what they ordered. The food is very fresh! I ordered the Canelones and honestly will have a hard time ordering anything else when I go back because they were so good! I also had a beef and chicken empanada as an appetizer, and both of those were great too! If you want a fresh amazing drink, get the passion fruit! They also bring out complementary bread with chimichurri and tomatoes, and it was to die for! I loved that the owner kept checking in on us. He is extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed! The staff was also great at answering any questions and offering recommendations. It's a little pricey here, but great for a special occasion and they give you a lot of food! It's usually pretty busy too, so make a reservation. The Asado fries were about $18 and were amazing. You could probably just eat that for a meal honestly. It has some grilled veggies and meat mixed in. The Parrillada Utah was delicious as well ($45). Tons of great meat that coupled with the Asado fries was way too much for two people. The chocolate cake flan was really tasty as well. What a pleasant dining experience. The food was incredible. And I'm from another state and typically critical of Utah dining. The wine was excellent too and quite reasonable. The service was a little let's say different but the manager/owner made up for waiter shortcomings with really spot on guidance through the menu. If you get confused about menu options and it can be daunting don't hesitate to ask for him I wish I could remember his name. I was on a first date and it was perfect for that... This place was awesome. We were here on a Sunday around 2, so it wasn't terribly busy. The ambiance is low key and casual, well lit and very specious. The server was very attentive, graciously answered all our questions about different menu items and made suggestions when we asked what was good. We got several steaks and a burger, the kids got sliders, a grilled cheese and the Alfredo pasta. We ended up getting drinks as well (the sangrias were enormous!) and a dessert platter. I thought this was pretty good! Our server was attentive and quick to get us everything that we need, plus continually clear our plates when we were through so the next course would have a place to be devoured. The Asado fries were tasty, lots of yummy flavors going on (a little greasy, but hey, fries). We ordered a few empanadas to sample (two of each--ham and cheese, beef, and chicken) that were shared between six people. That was a fun way to do it for sure, a little bit of three and you got a taste for Argentina without overdoing it. The Parridalla Utah was the next heaping of food to arrive. It says "ideal for two" but TOTALLY we fed 6 people with it and got our fill. Chicken, steak, ribs, potatoes, rice, veggies, all on this yummy charred platter. Ended up finishing off the meal with a peaches tres leches/caramel cake and it was great. The lighting was a little dark and the location made it a little hard to find. But overall, a solid 4 star experience. It was pretty expensive, so I really would only go back to do what we did today and split between a few couples, but it was definitely fun (and filling) to try once!
