My brother-in-law passed away very suddenly in early July and we found a ton of food in his house that we would have had to throw out had we not found a local food bank to which we could donate it. The problem was that there was too much food and the weight of it was far too heavy for us to transport it in our private vehicles. We contacted four or five different moving companies, and despite the fact that we shared the circumstances behind this move (it certainly wasn't a pleasure move) no one was willing to work with us and every one of them was trying to charge a 4-hour minimum, despite the fact that we knew it was probably only two hours worth of work since all we were asking them to move was food and nothing else and the distance was less than 20 minutes away. I found ARS on Google and was so impressed by the reviews, that I immediately reached out to them. Mary was as helpful as she could possibly be and quickly arranged a move for us just 3 days later with a minimum of 2 hours as we had requested. Their pricing was extremely favorable and they did everything they told us they would do. We received a call from the lead mover 30 minutes before they arrived at my brother-in-law's house, which was precisely when they said they would show up, they quickly loaded up the truck, brought the food to the food bank and emptied it, all within a 2-hour time frame. I even had an occasion to speak with the owner of the company, Mr. Lee, who was extraordinarily kind and responsive and couldn't have been more helpful. This is an extremely well run company that operates with tremendous honor and integrity and does not nickel and dime you with hidden costs, like a lot of other companies do. I can't say enough good things about them and highly recommend their services for any upcoming move you may have. read more

ARS was very good. They are the best movers I have had in many moves. Their assistance consisted of the unloading of a trailer containing all of our things that were moved from California to Vienna, Virginia (using U-Pack.) This ARS team (led by owner T.J.) worked hard - super hard - to get very bulky and heavy furniture down into the basement or wherever things had to go. I was especially worried about a treasured curio that is mostly glass on three sides and very heavy. They got it in with no problems, taking care to avoid pressure on the sides that would break the glass. A dated and very heavy leather furniture sofa that could NOT be disassembled posed a significant challenge. It would barely fit down a set of stairs and was constantly at risk of tilting into a wall or causing a calamitous drop. Yet them made it all the way. We actually applauded when they got it into place. I have never done that before. I would recommend this company to anyone. Keep in mind that any move has risks and movers are only human. I am somewhat surprised when I see reviews complaining about a scuff mark or two and downgrading the rating, even if that is not ideal. Give any movers a break for small mistakes that cause only superficial damage at a time their backs are twisting, and they are risking their own well-being. A little magic eraser and/or easy touch up paint can solve that in a minute or two. Damage to furniture is a more important concern. There are limits to how long and how many things a small team of men can carry without fatigue and muscle failure can start to impact the risk levels. So, when it goes as well as it did here, I am impressed. I had no scuff marks, no damage of any kind. I enthusiastically recommend ARS Movers. read more

My move took place just over two weeks ago in early June - easiest move ever. I engaged ARS because they had good reviews, were licensed and I liked the way they priced their jobs. My move was local, two-pronged, with furniture and boxes taken out of my apartment and put into a local storage unit and furniture and boxes brought back from the storage unit to my apartment. Both locations had elevators so no stairs were involved in the move. TJ and Yuri did and excellent job. They were on-time, although 45 minutes away from my location, arrived at 8AM - during rush hour - and came in an appropriately sized truck. They wrapped some furniture in blankets - shrink wrapping pieces of furniture which went into storage and which I paid for separately - and handled the very heavy pieces beautifully. They even helped to re-arrange my storage unit. I appreciated the very careful way they managed both furniture and boxes which contained fragile items. The job took several minutes over 3 hours but they only charged me for 3 hours, even though I had anticipated a 4 hour move. I think they did an excellent job and would hire them again for a local move in a heartbeat. Kamila and TJ were both very responsive to my initial inquiries in scheduling the move and in follow-up conversations just prior to the move. I only wish I could find long distance movers who offered the same kind of reliable, careful quality service. read more

We used their services to move my Mom from one apartment to another. Overall we were very satisfied with their services. TJ and Ray were very professional and efficient in moving my Mom's things. It took only a couple trips up and down the elevator to move the boxes. Although we were still packing until the very last minute, they were able to work around us and bring down the furniture. They were just as efficient in bringing the boxes and putting up the furniture in the new place. TJ and Ray were nice guys who knew exactly what to do and wasted no time in moving the things. They were helpful in making suggestions in where to place some furniture, since my Mom wasn't sure where to place a couple of pieces. They took care of all of the moving with virtually no need for help from us. They were very friendly and had no complaints about moving our things, and they were very patient with my Mom, who was starting to panic as she tried to finish packing as they had completed the move of all of the furniture. They were still smiling at the end of our move, one of two moves they did that day. I would definitely recommend ARS Movers. read more

My girlfriend and I were combining homes, requiring two stops before final delivery mixed with quite a bit of stress heading into our move date. TJ and his team with ARS Movers made what could have been a hectic morning a very smooth experience for us. They arrived on time and were quick to assess our needs, wrapping furniture and finishing up pick ups at both our apartments within 90 minutes or so. When they arrived at our new home, TJ's team moved quickly to safely and securely bring our items up to the unit while being mindful of our budget. They wasted little time and completed the entire move process in a few hours. We have both had mixed experiences with other moving companies in past moves, but hiring ARS for the first time has reinvigorated our confidence. Even before our move date, ARS was quick to answer our questions, provide a quote, and remain incredibly consistent with its pricing (other options we looked at did not offer this level of customer service). Should we look to move again, we will absolutely be calling ARS for a quote and highly recommend them to anyone in the DMV area. read more

I looked at about 20 different moving companies and requested quotes from all of them. I was 100% paranoid we would have a bad experience, and there are a couple bad reviews on this page that had me worried. But, our budget was tight and ARS was really affordable, so I decided to go with them. James was super communicative the whole time. He called to confirm two days before our move, and the movers called 30 minutes before arrival just like he said they would. We only had two guys, and they successfully moved an entire 1 bedroom house from our previous home AND storage unit (separate stops) up to our new condo, which is on the 3rd floor of a building with no elevator. They did it quickly and efficiently (under 4 hours for the whole thing), and the guys worked super hard the whole time, only pausing to take a short break once (after asking us permission to do so). These guys put in WORK!! We could not have had a better experience, and so if you are reading this and are confused about what movers to pick, I would say 100% ARS movers is a great option. read more

My experience with ARS movers was 10/10, no caveats or reservations. The crew arrived early (but started the clock at the scheduled start time), worked promptly and efficiently when loading and unloading my belongings, and did so carefully and professionally. My two movers (TJ Lee and Sam) were incredibly quick-thinking and adaptive when confronting challenges (steep loading dock driveway at new apartment, no elevator reservations/stuck elevator door in new apartment building) that had the potential to make the process significantly more onerous. Furthermore, both were incredibly polite and patient when executing their duties. The ARS Movers quote given to me for my move was slightly higher than what was offered by other moving services. However, the previous reviews on the site made me think that it was worth the money. On the other end of the experience, I can confirm that ARS movers were worth every penny. While I do not plan to move again in the near future, ARS Movers will definitely be the company doing that work. - Jacob read more

ARS movers were able to take a short notice appointment (called on Thursday moved on Saturday) to do a split move after I hurt my back trying to get everything done myself. ARS brought 3 guys and a truck. They hustled to disassemble a very large (6ft by 10ft) freestanding wardrobe/drawer unit and reassembled it at my moms new place in Alexandria. It turned out to be more complicated than anticipated but the guys did a good job: This was a split move (some things went to my house). A full size nearly brand new LG refrigerator and a very heavy sofabed went to my place in Falls Church. They had to take off the refrigerator doors for it to fit down the basement staircase but it's now plugged in and running in my utility room! The sofabed was very heavy and they got it up a narrow flight of stairs to the second floor to my library. There is no way I could have done this much on my own. The cost was worth it. They worked hard. I tipped them very well and bought them pizza and soda for lunch. read more

I hired ARS to load a 20 ft U Haul from a 4th floor condo. The move could not have gone better! The three movers, Ivan (Crew Chief), Yaroslav, & Jamal were on time, efficient, professional, polite, and friendly. They were energentic to say the least. In two and a half hours they blanketed, then shrink wrapped all the furniture, and moved the contents of a two bedroom unit including dozens of boxes and more duffle bags. They worked as a team and kept me in the loop throughout the process. They had quite a system of equipment and put it to good use. The truck was block stowed and everything was secured with no movement or damage during a 600 mile trip. The cost was reasonable and competive. Their work was outstanding. If you have the opportunity to request this crew, you won't regret it. Thanks Guys! Lastly, kudos to Mary Jones, Customer Service & Office Manager who kept me updated with phone calls and emails from start to finish. Steve b. read more

James (the owner) was fantastic and in touch with me from start to finish. An employee (apologies, I don't remember his name, maybe TR or TJ?) called me the day before for the final confirmation, and Carlos (foreman) checked in 45 minutes before the movers arrived. Carlos and his two-man team (apologies again, I didn't catch their names and can't make them out on the receipt) were absolutely fantastic and moved everything quickly, safely, and professionally. They were absolutely fantastic to work with and got me out of a 700 sq foot studio and into a 900 sq foot one bedroom in two hours. (My new place was about 10 minutes away, but it was a lot of stuff to move.) They also helped me dismantle and remove an old bed at no extra charge. I would have no worries about recommending ARS movers to friends and family, and if I move again, they're going to be the first people I call. Thank you for your great service, guys! read more

Moving is never fun, but Ivan's crew at ARS Movers made it as painless as possible. They called the day before the move and the morning of to confirm arrival times. After arriving at our former address right on time, the team toured the home and Ivan quoted us a very reasonable estimate. As soon as they had marching orders, Ivan, Nik, Andrew and Eric all jumped into motion. Somehow, the team managed to be cheerful, fast, and careful of our belongings. What a combo! They communicated really well with each other and us, and always had friendly smiles. One of the team has a background in furniture building; while setting the table up in the dining room, he went above and beyond and made adjustments that fixed a wobble the table always had! Freaking excellent! The team completed the job even faster than they'd estimated, which was a bonus. We will definitely be working with ARS Movers in the future. read more

I recently used ARS Movers for my move and had an amazing experience with them. They were incredibly fast, efficient, and took excellent care of my belongings. From the moment they arrived, it was clear that these movers were professionals. They wasted no time in carefully packing and loading everything onto the truck. What impressed me the most was how quickly they worked without compromising the safety of my items. They handled fragile items with precision and used the right equipment to move heavy furniture without a scratch. Throughout the process, their friendly and courteous demeanor made the day much smoother. The pricing was fair and transparent, with no hidden fees. I highly recommend this moving team for a stress-free and reliable moving experience. They made a potentially stressful day feel like a breeze, and I couldn't be happier with their service! read more

ARS Movers are incredible! 10/10 recommend. On Saturday, they helped me move somewhat locally from a house to an apartment. Given the size and quantity of my furniture, this was no small feat. It also didn't help that I only had a limited window for how long I could reserve the freight elevator to move everything in to my new place. TJ and another gentleman arrived five minutes earlier than their projected arrival window (which was fantastic); made sure all of my furniture was wrapped (with plastic I provided) and secured for safe transport; and unloaded everything effectively and efficiently. Everything was delivered in pristine condition -- with an hour plus to spare on my elevator reservation! If you're looking for movers in NoVa, look no further! I'll definitely be using ARS again in the future and recommending them to my friends and family. read more

Since the time I called Ars Movers for the first time to get a quote , TJ (owner) has been very responsive and helpful . They came on time dismantled furniture and stored all my packed boxes and bags quickly ( we had packed everything into boxes on our own as as it was our preference) . They packed my recliner and other furniture well with blankets and plastic film. I was moving out of state and needed storage for several days which they did without changing me too much which we really needed. Special thanks to Victor and Yerik they reached on my delivery location on time and called 30 mins ahead. They placed all things according to my choice and placed furniture where I needed . Assembled my bed and other furniture. They handled everything professionally and delivered with no problems or damages. Would definitely recommend Ars movers read more

I had a smooth and as stress free as possible moving experience with ARS Moving. I talked to and got quotes from several moving companies, all with good reviews, and ARS was the most responsive and had the best price. I had three movers and a 20 foot truck that moved me from a 2 bedroom apartment in DC to a single family home in Fairfax, VA. The entire move took about 6.5 hours (which included quite a bit of traffic getting from DC to Fairfax). The three movers worked without stopping the entire time. I had packed mostly everything, but anything that was not packed, they packed and wrapped themselves. I spoke with TJ Lee both to get an accurate quote before I booked the move and the day before the move to go over last minute details and he was very helpful both times. I definitely recommend and would use them again! read more

Excellent Moving Experience! I recently moved from a townhome to a single-family home, and I couldn't be more impressed with the movers who helped us. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and incredibly kind. They handled every piece of furniture with the utmost care--nothing was scratched, dented, or mishandled. You could tell they were experienced and knowledgeable in how they packed, lifted, and maneuvered even the bulkiest items through tight spaces with ease. Not only were they fast and organized, but they also maintained a great attitude throughout the move, which made the entire day feel less stressful and more manageable. If you're looking for movers who are courteous, careful, and truly know what they're doing, I highly recommend this team. They went above and beyond my expectations! read more

I rarely give anyone 5 stars but that is the only way to rate these movers. I spoke to numerous companies before coming upon this company and am thankful that I went with them. James provided the original quote and TJ was our contact for the actual move. They did everything they said and on-time. Called to confirm the day before the move, called again when they were on the way the day of the move, and arrived on time. These guys were professional movers. They moved quickly but carefully to relocate all of the furniture without a single misstep and they met my requirement to accomplish the move on the Sunday morning before Christmas. Thank you ARS for a great job and I will be happy to personally recommend your services to anyone. Best wishes for a happy holiday and Merry Christmas. read more

Excellent job in all regards. It was a long distance move from Northern VA to CT (300 miles). I found ARS Movers on Internet after talking to a dozen of other companies. We negotiated a schedule and rate in five minutes -- it was a fix price, no hidden charges (all included without questions: moving distance, gas, blankets, tape, carrying distance, whatever) -- and it was the best price I heard of !! They arrived on time in the evening, worked very quickly, also removed to dump some my old furniture (calling an additional truck on my last minute request !!) -- the next morning (!!) at 9 am as agreed upon, I met them in CT to start unloading. The most pleasant experience I have had with any services for the last 10 years -- this is the moving service as it should be. read more

Absolutely outstanding moving company! They were punctual, professional, and incredibly hardworking from beginning to end. Our move required a tremendous amount of work, and the team never slowed down or complained. They worked tirelessly all day and handled everything with care. Their pricing was competitive and, more importantly, fair. Considering the amount of hard work they put into our move, they deserved every penny--and honestly, even more. I was genuinely impressed by their work ethic, efficiency, and professionalism. Moving can be stressful, but having such a reliable and hardworking crew made a huge difference. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy moving company. Very impressive experience! read more
