We had not been here in years and I was honestly excited to try this place again. Happen to be staying in this hotel for a few nights so it was an easy choice for dinner the first night. The good: Our waiter came promptly and checked in on us frequently. Service was fast. The bad: The food. It was just bad overall. The Caesar salad was actually decent and the only enjoyable part of the meal. The crabcakes were bland and were served over a bed of absolutely disgusting, slimy, oily, underseasoned, and yet somehow foul tasting vegetables and greens. The lobster ravioli were, in my humble opinion, out of a frozen bag and reheated. Despite that they were still bland and flavorless. And instead of being lightly tossed or coated with Pomodoro sauce, they were placed a top of a bowl of sauce. As in it literally looked like a bowl of tomato soup with five ravioli as garnish floating on top. The ugly: The team came by and saw that we didn't finish our food. They didn't ask why. They didn't even blink. Nor did they ask us if we wanted the food to go. This screams loudly that this is a usual occurrence and they know what is going on. After a semi let down at an Atlas restaurant we walked to here for drinks. Happy Hour Orange Crush on a Sunday and a Dirty Martini was ordered. It was quire empty with it being football Sunday. The drinks did nor hit and we were charged extra. Two drinks and 1 was happy hour $9. Bill $36. No justification. This isnt our first time here but need less to say, not a fan. I think the last time (before July 2025) I was in this bar was in 2016 and it was OK back then. Came in and sat at the bar and (excuse misspelling his name) we sat with Koleco who was very friendly and helpful. They were pretty busy, as it was a Saturday night and we just came in for a nightcap before heading up to our rooms. They have a nice cocktail menu and the Orange Crush (B'more's signature cocktail) was perfectly made by him! They also have a really nice kitchen and a decent menu to go with it. I've visited Apropoe's on a few occasions. Typically, it's a satisfying experience; however, this particular visit was a bit disappointing. We stopped in for a cocktail while in the area. We saddled up at the bar and ordered a Dirty Martini and an Orange Crush. While the martini was good, the $19 price point was a bit surprising. As for the Orange Crush... it was HUGE disappointment. Made with Smirnoff and concentrated orange juice, it's an insult to this Maryland staple. Service was cool. Atmosphere is A+, definitely a cool place to chill or watch a game. read more

Sat at the bar and had one of the best reuben sandwiches I've ever! I requested it without thousand island. It came with fries and was so yummy! I also tried an espresso martini and it was good! This restaurant/bar is located inside the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hotel! I was doing an overnight stay at the hotel so this was very convenient. I browsed their happy hour and brunch menus. The Ravens had just won the game against the Steelers so there were alot of happy fans at the bar. Go Ravens! When I initially sat down I was ignored by the bartender. For a hotel restaurant the breakfast sandwich I had here was pretty tasty. Basic but tasty. It had a bit too much oil for my liking on the bread, but it came out hot, and was a great portion size. The prices, as with any hotel restaurant, are quite high but if you don't feel like popping out it's a great choice. It can get pretty loud around the bar area there especially if there's a hotel group or event, so just pick your seat purposefully :) read more

Super friendly and easy to hang out. I was there parallel to a conference (not attending but with someone who was presenting at the conference) and found it a great place to get some work done while having a drink and a bit of great conversation with everyone behind the bar. It's got that classic, upscale "Cheers" sort of feel, getting quite busy at the start of dinner time, then thins out until groups show up later. Large open restaurant in the lobby of the Waterfront Marriott. Great decor and ambiance and surprisingly quiet for as large and open of an area it is in. Waterfront views available. Reasonable pricing for being in a hotel. Vegetarian options on their menu that were flavorful and filling. Friendly server who was attentive with a plethora of tables during a conference week. I often don't look forward to dining in the hotel- so this was a pleasant and welcome surprise. read more

While staying here I tried out the dinner and breakfast menus. I definitely preferred breakfast. There was nothing wrong with dinner and service was good. Dinner was crab chowder and a crab cake sandwich. I polished off the chowder happily. The sandwich was a little too basic and full of filler. I didn't expect Baltimore's best at a hotel. But it was still decent. However the Chesapeake omelette the next morning was phenomenal. Much better crab flavor in that. As Meatloaf said. Two out of three ain't bad. read more

The service is good, but the food is expensive yet pretty bad. I ordered a steak, medium for $51. It arrived in minutes. I took a couple of bites: it was cooked but lukewarm, even cool in some spots. This was the first time in my life I ever sent food back. They brought me a completely new steak, no questions asked. That steak was lukewarm to cold, too. The waiter seemed genuinely concerned whether I was happy, so he brought me a third steak: a much thinner and fattier cut -- that was rare and lukewarm. I have also had breakfast here twice. The eggs are fine, but they burned my toast, and both sausages and bacon were almost inedible (way too salty and too hard, respectively). read more

I took a friend to Apropoe's back in September when we went to a concert down in the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Baltimore Marriott so walking to the music venue (MECU Pavilion and used to be called Pier 6) was a breeze. The place was nice! Very clean with a friendly staff. I WISH I remember the name of our server because they were literally one of the nicest people Ive ever met. The best part of my experience was the waiter. He was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, knew whether or not we could customize certain items, water was always filled, extra napkins, just over great. Started with crab soup and chowder. Both were tasty with just enough spice. I was able to get the chowder without bacon. The double fried wings were good but nothing to brag about. The Mumbo sauce was very basic. Just tasted like BBQ. The scallops were good, the sauce they came in was sweet, but made the dish. The rigatoni was decent, subbed the sausage for chicken. No complaints. My friend and I were staying at the Marriot Hotel for a conference and Apropoe's was our constant because of their location, menu, and service. The restaurant built into the hotel has a nice bar/ fast breakfast/snack area and the relooks out on the harbor. My friend has food allergies and staff were very attentive in the restaurant and in the banquet area. For the few days we were there, she had no reactions, which she was very afraid of having. They even made specific meals for her to allow her to avoid certain ingredients that she's allergic to. Chef Mila and waiter Ramin were exceptional. I came here in the evening and for breakfast. This restaurant is really abusing its position as the hotel bar/restaurant on the waterfront. The service is lazy, especially when it's busy. I asked for the check when it was my turn in the bartender's "rotation" and I was told "you're going to have to wait" and then... Well... Had to wait another 10 minutes for her to get back to me in her rotation and actually give me my check. Breakfast was just as bad with the Broken Yolk Sandwich being served overcooked and 15 minutes after I ordered it. I was also charged for a signature Bloody Mary with supposed extras but just got Bloody Mary mix with who-knows-what vodka and none of the things it was supposed to come with (just vodka, ice, mix, and an olive). Honestly, Marriott needs to tell this restaurant to shape up, it's a disgrace. read more

I think the overall 3 1/2 stars is an appropriate rating. In town for a conference and stayed at the Marriott Waterfront which this spot is attached to. We got in kind of late and was in search for the "best crab cakes ever! At check-in my friend was told the crab cakes here were good; better than another place that has shells in theirs, I think that place was called Mo's. So on the recommendation of the hotel and the convenience we went to Apropos. There were 6 of us and we needed separate checks to submit for reimbursement and the waiter accommodated, so that was great. I ordered the salad, crab chowder, and crab cake. It was a bit difficult to understand the waiter, so I'm assuming when I asked for. "No cucumbers" on my salad he put nothing...no onions, no tomatoes, nothing but lettuce. And for $12-15...I felt like a rabbit! The soup/chowder was a bit bland and the crab cake was...well less than impressive! I did order the peach old fashion that is supposed to donate $1 to HBCU's, and that was really good! So much so I went back the next day to order another. Service was very slow; but not sure if that's the culture (I'm from LA) or a one-off. We weren't even offered a dessert menu. Do they have dessert? I wouldn't know. When I went back the next day to order the Peach Old Fashion, the bar tender said they were out of the Bourbon/Whiskey they use for it. Idk my Bourbon/Whiskey so I asked for the best comparable, it was horrible! When I said it doesn't taste like last night...the older bartender was just shrugged his shoulders. Don't visit on busy weekends. I ordered wings and still didn't get them after 45 minutes. It was mentioned that no ticket was written up for the chef. But I wasn't asked. Several minutes later I asked for a refund and that took an even longer time. No, I no longer want the wings. In all fairness, I ordered them the night before and they were great. When I thought I was waiting to get a refund he brought an order of wings assuming the flavor I wanted and no refund. I could appreciate busy BUT pay attention and follow up if a customer has been waiting for an excessive period of time. I'm very generous with my reviews. Not this time. Too many details were ignored. I shared with the staff that I was writing a 1 star review. He said just don't mention my name. On a big weekend such as the CIAA, they weren't prepared for the Saturday night crowd. I'm guessing. It's late so I wasn't going to insist on the refund. I just settled. The lady who took my order, instead of following up, stated she should've been off 30 minutes ago and open in the morning. I'm done now. I'd love to return at some point on another visit to the city and be able to provide 5 stars. Tonight wasn't it. read more

I'd probably rate Apropoe's a 3.5 or maybe a 4 depending on the night. I was there recently for a conference and stayed for 3 nights. I had 2 experiences with the hotel bar. The drinks are STRONG - which isn't a bad thing. But it wasn't until I got home and started looking through receipts that I noticed that they were giving me (and charging me for) doubles that I didn't order. They also did the same thing to a couple of my coworkers who were there the same night. The service was hit or miss for me. When I ordered a Beyond burger, the server make a comment like "do you really want that? It's not meat." Yes, that's why I ordered it! They had a vegan jackfruit BBQ sandwich on the menu, but we were told that it would take too long to make and our server convinced my coworker to order something else. There was also a vegan avocado fettuccini that I didn't get to try but that looked good. The ambiance of the bar is really nice - sort of dark with a fireplace, lots of TVs but not in an intrusive way, couches and comfy chairs. read more

Used the Marriott as a meeting point recently before going out with some friends and we were pleasantly surprised to find this great bar and restaurant there! It has equal parts casual and swanky vibes with TVs and lounging areas, so really can fit any mood and occasion! We also had GREAT service from Ashley, who made excellent food and drink recommendations and was extremely attentive. They have a good list of cocktails, the peach old fashioned was one of our favorites. We were only able to sample food from the "Late night bites" menu, which is available until about 11:30pm, but it hit the spot. The shoestring fries were great as was the burger and the chicken tenders. Our group will be coming back to try their dinner menu! read more

This is the lobby bar at the Marriott Waterfront hotel in Baltimore. We wanted to grab a late night drink and snack. The limited late night menu was available and it provided the usual fare. Wings, burgers, etc. We placed our orders at the bar area and waited for take out to eat in the room. Service was very good and we got our food quickly. I ordered a Lervette, which is a Tito's based drink with some mixers that included grapefruit juice. This drink was delicious and refreshing. I also ordered a Marriott burger with fries. I ordered it medium well and it was cooked perfectly. Others in my party ordered mambo sauce wings and the crab cake sandwich. Everyone complimented the taste of their food. Service (from our actual server) was excellent. Food was mixed; very good salads, terrible veggie sides. Don't bother if you have food allergies -- even calling in advance just meant whoever answered the phone MADE UP the answer -- if I hadn't triple-checked the menu items she was interested in and trusted the answer I got when I called, my eight year-old daughter would have had a life-threatening allergic reaction to items they initially told me were completely safe. When I spoke with the manager, she seemed extremely unconcerned that one of their team had done this and told me it was "my responsibility to keep checking". I was looking for a spot for a quick and cozy drink and good conversation and found that here. I felt well taken care of here, enjoyed the swanky atmosphere of the room and the comfy couches. We were only going to spend 10 minutes but I had such a good time with the bartenders. The drinks were great and the bartender whipped us up something special based on our mood. We were seated and waited about 20 minutes. While waiting we saw another customer get asked for their order and he was seated after us. It wasn't until I approached a server that they helped us. We waited another 30 minutes until our food was brought out. I asked to see the manager to complain and he said he would see about a discount. No discount was offered except a free dessert which we weren't really interested in. I really would not complain except that the restaurant was not busy and we ordered simple items. Tacos, an order of fries and a bowl of chowder. We are here for another 4 days at the hotel but will not use the restaurant again. The two stars are only because the food was quite good. SERVICE: As soon as I walked into the area, I was greeted each time pretty quickly. While I stayed at the hotel, I must have frequented this establishment at least six times: twice for breakfast, once for lunch, and a few times just to pick up something from the bar to take upstairs. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. Attention is paid to the details. FOOD: The breakfast is buffet style for around $30 at the time of this posting. The food is tasty enough. There isn't much by the way of culinary artistry: standard American staples. I had the buffet on day, with eggs that were really fluffy. And bacon. Bacon needs no introduction; it's awesome. ATMOSPHERE: The place is beautiful and clean. It's definitely my style of eatery with deep wooden and leather tones throughout. Came here from breakfast, because I stayed at the hotel. It was a buffet style breakfast that had everything you're looking for. Including an omelet station, where you can also get waffles. I later realized that the waffle batter did have cinnamon in it, luckily before I ate it. I wish they listed that at the station, so I didn't waste it. I noticed because the syrup they offered said it was cinnamon maple syrup - they brought me regular syrup but as soon as I got closer to my waffle I smelled the cinnamon, so that was sad for me. Besides that the omelette was fantastic and they did not skimp out on the fillings, which had everything you could think of to choose from. All types of cheeses, meats, and veggies. Also on the way out noticed they had all the jams, butters, and whipped cream - it was away from the food. At the buffet section they had, scrambled eggs, bacon, and pork sausage. What I was really surprised about was the healthier options with turkey bacon, chicken sausage, all types of chobani yogurt flavors, and an assortment of fruits. The restaurant is located inside the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront & we ate breakfast here when we were staying at the Marriott. Breakfast was good and service was excellent. Mohammed was our server and was very friendly and made sure our coffee stayed filled and gave me a to go coffee. We had the broken yolk sandwich, chocolate chip pancakes and Belgian waffle. All 3 were tasty and filling. It's a little pricey for breakfast but overall good start to our day. read more
