Well what can be said about this store and many Apple stores in general? That they are awful, mainly because of the goons that work there (80% of the store employees are awful). Like with all Apple stores, this location at Old Orchard is no different. They seem to hire the hipster looking characters, or art student "genius or visionary" (laughing right now), who think they are the sh*t because they work a minimum wage job and graduated with a useless degree in art or something similar. These are the same people you would find in a Starbucks, not spending money, but gladly mooching off of the free Wi-Fi and discussing with their cohorts, the greatness of Marx, Lenin, and Stalin. In other words, they are liberals, who hate everyone, especially people who disagree with their insane views.
With the above said and the stage set, these individuals, which have been described above are employed at this Apple store. They are very condescending and smug people, you learn this as soon as you enter the store. I ask myself, why they act like this? They really do not have any reason to be. They majored in art history, or maybe even ceramics, modern art, or some other useless liberal arts major and are now mad at the world and want hand outs from society, since they cannot make money with their degree. I would probably have this same attitude also if I went to Chicago's Ivy League schools: Columbia Art School & Illinois Institute of Art.
If you respect me, I will respect you, otherwise you are asking to be ridiculed and insulted. Never ever bring in any Apple product to be fixed at an Apple store. If an "Apple Genius" (as they are referred to (insert long laugh here)), senses you have "disrespected them" or are being an "a**hole", they will see to it, that your hard drive is erased. Then when you pick up your computer and realize your hard drive was erased and complain about it, they will say you signed a waiver and they are not responsible. If you do not believe me, Google it. There are many stories out there, from past Apple employees who share personal stories of the corrupt atmosphere at many Apple Store locations.
Get one thing straight Apple employees, you aren't the sh*t, so start treating people with respect. This Apple Store location received 1 Star because of: the rude nature of certain employees, they never look professional at all (80% of them), never helpful, and always act like they are smarter than you (what a joke). Don't get me wrong there are a few stand out employees at this location, who are very professional and friendly. Its a shame that the hipster and art student goons overshadow these stand out employees. To the potential customers of this store, go check out whatever particular item it is you are interested in and buy online or at another Apple Store location. If you must buy a product here, ask a non-hipster or non art student looking employee for help, these usually are the friendly employees. If you walk in and see too many hipsters or art students working that day, walk right out, do not let yourself be subjected to the condescending behavior of these characters.
As a side note, all the 5 star reviews of this location must be from employees or friends of employees. Very hard to believe any legitimate customer had a 5 star experience here.
