I pass by this store at least once a week and happened to have a coupon thanks to Yelp so I decided to give them a try. Service was fast, way quicker than the apple store, and the guy who fixed my phone was pleasant. I had a screen protector that I asked to keep for credit and they carefully peeled it off of my old cracked screen for me. I actually wanted to buy another screen protector on the spot for temporary purposes but they only had a $20 tempered glass. I did not want to get it at the time because I was going to go back to a ghost armor to get credit for my original screen protector.
That was in October of last year.
Some time later, I noticed that my replacement screen was becoming unglued and I hadn't dropped it or anything. To be completely honest, if I was reviewing the product I purchased back in October, I would have few positive comments. In fact, one of the buttons on the replacement screen made a really loud clicking sound every time I pressed it, the screws that hold the screen to the frame of the device kept sticking out and the glue came undone as I just mentioned. Now at this time it was past the warranty and I didn't plan on coming in to make a complaint or anything because I wasn't interested in arguing for a similar, seemingly low grade screen.
I actually left it unglued for another few months. Kept passing by the store every week. Thought about going back to apple to have a nicer screen installed with a nice quiet button. I decided not to do anything in particular, until today. I didn't have much insensitive to come back to this store but I figured the least they could do is tighten up these screws.
I walk in and I am quickly greeted. I show them my phone and am about to ask if they can simply tighten the screws. I did not want to hear the whole 'out of warranty' speech as he looked up the records on the computer. Instead, he speaks to Daniel and then Daniel offers to glue down the screen for me. I had become so used to the uneven screen that I wasn't prepared to ask them to fix that. I comply and request that the screws be tightened.
I proceed to sit and wait, already very pleased having not heard the out of warranty bit and knowing that my screws will not be sticking out any more and that the screen will be flush on the frame of the device once again!
Daniel comes out and tells me that he can't glue down the screen. I actually didn't mind hearing that, anyway it was a bonus for me if the screen would be attached properly to the phone.
Then he proceeds to site the 'out of warranty' speech but then offers to replace the screen! I'm shocked. I just wanted my screws nice and tight and here this guy is offering me a replacement screen. I felt like I couldn't accept it, but I comply and wait a bit more.
I think to myself about my ghost armor and how I had gone through the trouble to get credit for it but in no time begin to let that go and say to myself that I will be fine without that screen protector. Anyway the screws will be tight and the screen will be flush and I'll be on my merry way. It's the simple blessings in life and It's almost too good to be true. I actually begin to worry that before I leave the store I'll have to pay for something.
Daniel comes out with my phone and has my ghost armor in his hand and explains to me that he tried to put it back on but to no avail. I had come to terms that I wouldn't be using my ghost armor any longer so that to was easy to hear. He offers me to keep the protector so I do and then proceeds to tell me that he installed tempered glass, the same tempered glass I avoided back in October, to make up for the ghost armor.
I'm simply astounded. I walk out of there with an unbelievable, unimaginable bonus that God just blessed me with. Outstanding customer service. Daniel and Smartphone Repair Center took care of me in a way I never even thought of asking for. Thank you.
