I really got to recommend this place because they helped me out in a bind. I accidentally dropped my wife's external hard drive which then popped open. I freaked out and tried to close it quickly. I then realized the port was upside down, and I didn't know what else was wrong. I brought it to Computerland, and the guy there was nice but not very talkative. He did an initial diagnosis, and I asked how long it would take to repair? He said I'll call you. It left me a bit worried, but then he called back and said 3 days or less. I got a call by the second day, and he finished the work. He seemed a bit surprised I wanted to check the quality of the repair, but everything worked as normal with no lost data. I took my PC in to them back in 2019, in a dire situation and while it was fixed, they put in an older model graphics card (supposedly because when they installed an identical card to the one in my PC it "wouldn't work") and said if would "probably be fine" and "ok for playing most games". I accepted it because he was the expert and frankly they'd had my computer for quite a while and I needed it back. Obviously, it wasn't fine. My computer has continued working since then, which I fully appreciate, but I haven't been able to run a single one of the dozens of games I used to be able to play on it. They all report that the graphics card is too weak. Photoshop is also a laggy mess so I can't use that either. Basically I've got a PC that I can use for email. Speaking of email, I did email them about my dissatisfaction but they never responded. All in all, I didn't feel great taking my PC there in the first place but I was desperate and now I've got to get a new PC that works or find a new repair place. I can't recommend this particular location based on my poor experience. read more

My work computer stopped working first thing Monday morning (blue screen of death), I first tried various remedies on my own but none helped unfortunately with IT being outsourced overseas I was looking at indefinitely response time (previous experience pointed to over 78 hours) and work kept on piling on my desk. So I informed my boss of the issue, opened a work order ticket and quickly drove to Best Buy to see if I can get help but the earliest appointment they gave was after 5PM. OK but not good. So I researched and found Computerland and decided to give them a try. The owner accepted my computer and said he would give me a call after he run the diagnostic which turned there was a problem with a mother board. I had a working computer the very next day way before the outsourced IT got to my open ticket! I would definitely recommend this place. The fix made my computer way faster and it doesn't crash anymore. I have noticed that Computerland is a very busy place they seem to be always helping someone with complicated computer issues so I am glad I was able to get my computer repaired back quickly. read more

I really appreciated the super-quick battery repair of our laptop. The other day we had noticed a bulge in the case, and based on experiences with other machines the battery had gone bad. The repair wasn't too expensive and much quicker than initially promised which was great. The reason we can't give 5 stars though is for a couple reasons that may not affect anyone else. We noticed that during a time everyone was asked to wear masks indoors, the person inside did not wear one, even when we obviously came in wearing them. We almost didn't go in at all, but we were feeling pretty desperate to get the laptop fixed. Also, despite our masks we noticed a strong cologne smell in the space that was nearly overwhelming. If you're sensitive to scents, like migraine sufferers or people with allergies can be, this may be a reason to avoid. Finally, we received no assurances they would handle the bad battery in an environmentally responsible way, such as making sure it got sent somewhere for safe processing. It would be have been nice to know we could have confidence on the end-life of the nasty metals and chemicals in the broken device. So we're not sure if we would go back. If these factors wouldn't bother you, I would then say go check them out for laptop battery repairs. read more

This is an honest and extremely helpful business. It's truly a rarity to find one like it. I came in to get support downloading Windows onto my Mac, but was explained that I needed to add storage in order to do it. The owner listened to my situation (I'm a student) and instead offered to let me use an old laptop he had on hand to finish my assignment. He helped me avoid a $150 charge that was only going to be necessary for a day or two of use. It also allowed me to complete my assignment on time instead of waiting for my laptop to be updated. I came here to have the battery replaced in my laptop. They ended up having to replace the battery 3 times all within 2 weeks. The first time Computerland replaced the battery my computer said the new battery needed service. The power would drop from 50% to 7% in a matter of minutes. I had to go back for 2 more battery replacements because the batteries that were installed were having the same issue. After the 3rd times I just gave up. The "new" battery needs to be plugged in at all times or will die in 15-20 minutes. I can also hear it moving around inside the computer. I chose Computerland because of the great reviews, but unfortunately that was not my experience. read more

I brought my HP Pavilion laptop into Glenview ComputerLand after having problems with my hard drive not starting up properly. There was a problem with the system booting up improperly and a slow-running hard drive. A Plus was that Glenview ComputerLand offered a free fee diagnostic through a coupon on Yelp. Stefan was able to save, recover, and make a backup of all of my documents as well as my photos from my old hard drive. The solution was to make a clone of my old hard drive and upgrade my computer from 500 GB @ 5400 RPM to a 1 TB @ 7200 rpm Hard Drive. Overall, it was a quick and cost-affordable fix. The only charges were for the new hard drive upgrade as well as making the clone of my old hard drive. Another plus was that Stefan ran some software to clean up my old registries and caches to speed up the overall system and boot-up time. I was satisfied with the overall output of my laptop as well as the overall costs for the repair! I was happy that Stefan was able to fix my computer with an upgrade without having to purchase a brand-new laptop as my laptop has a couple more years left in it. Overall, the backing up of my files took less than a week and cloning my old hard drive to the new hard drive was also completed in about a week. Stefan was helpful with any technical computer questions I had as well as with any troubleshooting of the new hard drive. I was impressed by the technical expertise and know-how as well as the speed of fixing my computer at Glenview ComputerLand!
