ElectroGeek/Randy is the best computer repair specialist I have ever had ever had the pleasure to work with. My computer went down, and I lost everything on the hard drive. I called ElectroGeek and Randy was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. He gave me directions on what to have set up for him when he came to my house the next day (a house call...unbelievable!). Randy advised me on what type of new computer I should purchase. Randy arrived on time the following day and a few hours later I was up and running with all of my files and my new computer set up correctly. What makes this extra special is that other companies told me I would probably lose everything. ElectroGeek offers the best home and business computer assistance. I had a small network I needed replaced and Randy was able to do it quickly and reasonably. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable. He will work remotely by logging into your system or he will come on site, carefully adhering to CDC recommendations. He is exceptional. I have found that most super techies are not very personable and he is the exception. I foolishly allowed a hacker onto my computer and fortunately turned off my PC before the hacker was able to get my banking information but I was afraid to turn the computer back on until Randy was able to log in and remove the damage. He did this on a Saturday! He is also very reasonably priced - you don't have to break the bank to get your computer projects/issues resolved. I highly recommend him. I have used ElectroGeek a few times, and Randy, the owner, is a very nice guy. The first time I had a decent experience, but I felt he took longer than necessary (and he charges by the hour). He charged me $970.81 to set up two new computers and transfer data from our old computers. Because one of the computers required data recovery and the end result was achieved, I was OK with the service I received (but again, it seemed to take an excessive amount of time). Recently I discovered that the antivirus software he installed was blocking important Windows updates. After uninstalling the antivirus software, I was able to successfully download all of the updates that failed when he set up the computers. I hired Randy to come back 6 months later as I was having a problem with Outlook/iCloud syncing. After doing some initial trouble shooting on my own and with both Apple and Microsoft, I called ElectroGeek to solve the problem for me as I thought I might have a virus or malware that was beyond the scope of what I could fix. Randy came the next day. I explained in detail what the problem was and the steps I took to try to resolve it. Randy proceeded to do the same steps multiple times with the same unsuccessful result. He then upgraded my computer to Windows 10 and installed a different antivirus software on it. That did not solve the problem either. He started the Windows 10 upgrade on the other computer that wasn't having any problems and left before it finished. That computer's update failed after he left. I was later able to successfully do the update myself after removing the antivirus software that he installed. He claimed the antivirus software wasn't the problem, but clearly it was. I was extremely dissatisfied with the level of service I received, especially after he took up 7+ hours of my day and presented me with a bill for $645.25!!! I was still left with the same problem I hired him to fix. I ended up paying him $600 just to be done with the whole experience, but I was very upset (oh, and he expediently cashed my check on the way home). Personally, I would be embarrassed to charge someone for such an egregious amount when the problem still wasn't resolved. Luckily I was able to find a resolution on my own the next day to fix the Outlook/iCloud syncing problem that only took 1.5 hours of my time. I think Randy should have been able to figure this out, especially in the 7+ hours he spent at my house. Needless to say, I won't be using or recommending ElectroGeek in the future. Their customer service and competence level is unacceptable. read more
