This place is AMAZING! I accidentally spilt coffee on my table where my new 2017 macbrook pro was lay. I didn't think much had gone onto the laptop and proceeded to use it for a whole day. The laptop battery ran down and when I tried to charge it none of the ports were working. I took the Macbrook into Apple and the tech told me that unfortunately my laptop was fried and needed a new motherboard which could cost $1500 to fix. My Apple experience was extremely disappointing and the tech was extremely negative and was just trying to get me to buy a new Mac. After being absolutely devastated hearing the news my $2500 Mac was basically unfixable I did some research on google and came across multiple places in Chiago that claimed they fixed damaged Macs. I found PRO technology and after reading reviews on fixing water damaged Macs I decided to take it in. 6 hours later I received a phone call saying that my laptop was unfixable because it's the 'new' MacBook and the tech said the motherboard was too small for him to fix. You can imagine how I felt hearing this news, I had lost all hope. I had seen ComputerLand LLC when completing my research and decided to just try one more time. So I gave them a call and took my laptop straight in. The tech was extremely informative, helpful and positive. He told me that Apple or PRO had not even attempted to fix the laptop and he was hopeful that a clean up of the motherboard would fix it. Sure enough a day later my laptop was completely fixed, all my data was still there and my laptop was as good as new. The clean up cost $350 which is not even 1/3rd of what Apple wanted. This place is absolutely amazing and if anyone tells you your Mac, laptop or any form of technology is unfixable TAKE IT HERE!!!!! So thankful and will recommend this place to everyone. read more

The hard disk on my mother's PC started malfunctioning a few weeks ago, so I took the computer to ComputerLand. My experience with them was very good. When they took the computer for evaluation, they clearly explained to me what they planned to do with it, how much the evaluation would cost, and the potential next steps and costs. Beyond the evaluation fee, they only charge for the fix if it has actually worked. In my case, they were able to transfer both the operating system and the user data from the old hard disk to the new one seamlessly. When I returned the repaired PC to my mother a week later, she couldn't tell the difference - everything looked as before to her. Getting all the user data back was nice. But their ability to restore the OS was absolutely essential to my mother, as she's been really keen to stay with the familiar and user-friendly Windows 7 and dreaded the thought of having to switch to Windows 8 or 10. The evaluation and the subsequent disk transfer did take a few days. That's fine by me, I'll always take quality of service over speed. But they do offer express service at extra charge. I just felt I wasn't in such a hurry at the time. read more

I am very happy with the service and support I received at Glenview Computerland. My laptop was plugged in charging when I briefly lost power. The next morning when I attempted to boot up my laptop, the power light came on for about 10 seconds, then went out. I assume the brief loss of power was the result of a power surge which my laptop absorbed. I was afraid the motherboard had been fried. I brought my laptop to Glenview Computerland. They told me they would diagnose it in 24-48 hours and let me know the results. I received a call back in the time window they stated. They told me the BIOS needed to be reset and the price was very reasonable, a lot less than I was fearing had the motherboard been fried. They called me back later that day after they had successfully performed the reset. I picked up my laptop and all is well. I was very satisfied with the friendly service I received and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. (I have also since purchased a portable surge protector!) read more

The hard drive on my laptop died. I had a new solid state hard drive installed but the 'big national store' that did so could not retrieve the data after multiple attempts by their team. I had to have the data - not just years of critical documents, but thousands of pictures of family, trips, etc. I was told that the hard drive needed to sent out at a cost of $500-$1600!! Unbelievable! I took it to ComputerLand - Stefan said that he was more than confident that he could retrieve the data. He also said that in the off-chance that he couldn't there would be no cost! Great to see that ethical service is not totally gone these days. Bottom-line is that he retrieved the data that the big store could not at a fraction of the cost. If you ever have any computer issues or problems - do NOT waste your time going anywhere else...I highly recommend ComputerLand in Glenview. read more

Stefan is a genius. One of our iPhones, an iPhone 6, completely stopped working. And to make matters worse, it was not backed up. Everything was allegedly lost. We took it to Abt and to the Apple Store and we were told by BOTH places that there is NOTHING they can do. They couldn't even power it up. Now if 2 different technicians at 2 different stores give the same diagnosis, then it must be true, right? WRONG! We took the phone to ComputerLand in Glenview on Waukegan Rd and in less than 3 minutes the phone was powered up. And even better, Stefan backed the entire phone up to his laptop until we got home and did it ourselves. We're still going to buy new iPhones and now back them up regularly, but when all hope was lost, Stefan and ComputerLand saved the day! read more

I recently had my Macbook Mini computers serviced by Stefan at Computerland. Stefan is a straight ahead guy who is honest and his fees are quite reasonable. One of the computers was not repairable due to the fact that I broke the fan connector. There were multiple issues with the hard drive of the second computer. Stefan was diligent and patient because there multiple issues with the hard drive and the hard drive connector which required that he find a hard drive that would pass diagnostic tests combined with a hard drive and provided a new totally functional connection cord for without charging me. The final result is that the Mac Mini is now working properly without shutting down or turning on randomly. I am happy to recommend Stefan and Computerland. read more

I give a very high recommendation (5 stars) to Stefan of Glenview ComputerLand, LLC for the repairs performed on one of my HP Notebook Computers. Stefan promised to provide an analysis of the problem and a quote for the repair within 24 hours, and he did. The keyboard had to be replaced and Stefan provided a very reasonable quote and repair time estimate and ordered the replacement part. I was able to take this computer home and continue to use it with an external USB keyboard. On the day he received the part he called me to bring in the computer and the repair was completed the next day. I really appreciated Stefan's customer-focused attitude as he stayed past closing time to give me time to drive through heavy traffic to pick up the computer. read more

I don't leave many (any?) reviews on Yelp but people should know about these guys. A bad Windows update left my 3-year old Dell desktop an unbootable doorstop. Dell's solution was to mail the computer to their depot, with no timeline for return or guarantee the data would come back intact. I found out about Glenview ComputerLand and took the PC there to see if they could help. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it within 24 hours, amazing! They also went the extra mile of removing some problematic malware and cleaning out the case, which had accumulated 3+ years of dust, for no extra charge. Pricing was very reasonable and the service was courteous and efficient. I am thrilled to have an IT resource like this so close to home. read more

Awesome! I have been to Glenview Computerland multiple times and Stefan has been excellent each and every time. I have an old laptop in otherwise good condition which could not be disassembled past the exterior, due to a handful of severely stripped screws in the base of the chassis which had been stuck in there for about 4 years. Stefan immediately took it back and removed all of them without any hassle, allowing me to once again fully access the entirety of the laptop and refurbish it. The best part? My Lenovo laptop needed drivers updated and some other cleanup, and Glenview Computerland did a topnotch job! I got my like-new laptop back within a day or two, and for a reasonable charge. What's more, he spent time explaining what he had done, powered the computer up and showed me that it was in excellent working. I never felt rushed, and he patiently answered all my questions. The one thing I don't like about my Thinkpad is the small wider-than-tall screen -- not so good for photography work. The owner had several helpful tips for how to set up a second screen. I wanted to upgrade my older HP desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and was hoping to avoid having to purchase a whole new computer. After being told from other places that it might not be worth it and I would be better off buying a new one, Stefan told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it. My laptop clearly needed a new keyboard. My first contact with Computerland was via a referral from our firm's IT guys. I initially traded e-mails with Al in the Halsted store, and because of location, ended up bringing my laptop to the Glenview location. I was happy to know it could be fixed and happier to hear the price estimate and the estimated delivery date. I had trouble getting an Acer Aspire M5 laptop repaired when 5 keys went bad on the keyboard. UBreakIFix and Best Buy were unable to find the replacement keyboard; Best Buy told me to find and order the keyboard off eBay, which I did, and then another tech told me they could not install it because they had to order the part. Ridiculous! I found Computerland on Yelp, and within 2 days, they installed the keyboard and updated the system to Windows 10 for a very reasonable price. Excellent service. My Windows 10 PC computer crashed, I tried to fix the computer myself at home, using various repair programs downloaded from the web, and also trying to restore system from the windows previous restore points, but ended up messing up my windows programs completely. Stephan was great. My computer stopped working as my cat knocked a glass of water on it. Stephan saved all my info and my computer. He even noticed I was running on an old version of Windows and upgraded me. I was traveling through Chicago when I got a pop-up that I did not understand and resulted in getting over 100 virus infections. Computerland was able to fix my problem with in a few hours and the cost was very reasonable. When I had the same problem a few days later, they showed me how to take care it myself at no charge. They provided rush service if you need to have problem fixed rightaway. Stepan called me few hours later and gave me the repair estimate.
