Amazing Customer Service! This was my best experience ever at a Verizon store. The salesperson was extremely helpful and even though I had to wait 30-45 min., what do they expect by putting one person in a store? Well the fact is that this person was able to get through a Mother buying her daughter her first phone, then he dealt with a couple that he was trying to save money for but they said they absolutely "needed" the iPhone 16 Pro when they both had iPhone 15 pros. I love the fact that he said to them "you will be paying for your old phones while paying for your new phones" and he didn't seem at all like he was thinking what I was - which was "why? and what world are you in that you need the latest iPhone at all times"- but alas I am a curmudgeon when it comes to waste somewhat so that is my problem and the way he treated everyone was excellent! He didn't make them feel stupid for wanting the latest tech and he wasn't pushy - as a matter of fact the only thing he mentioned was that he just wanted to make sure they were aware that they would be raising their bill by X amount a month. Then it was my turn and he apologized profusely for having me wait - which I had expected - any time you go into a cell phone store I expect at least a 30 - 60 min wait time (unless it is a genius bar appointment - at which time you will wait over 11/2 hours (at least the one in old orchard)- and this is when I had an appointment lol. So yes go to this Verizon above all if you want to get a good deal and a sales associate who will get you it - you have found the right place. read more

Very rude staff... I went here to put a replacement screen protection glass on my phone (as instructed by other staff members at the very same store). The guy at the counter did his best to show his discontent and unwillingness to do the job by making sounds and awkward looks. Never responded to our greetings, gratitude, or even "goodbye". He made it clear that he was doing the job only because he didn't want to have a conversation about it. read more

Tremendously understaffed. Be prepared to wait hours. One person working, 10 people in line. The line goes out the door.

I would stay away from this place, most of the employees there don't really know what they are doing. At some point I've wasted more than an hour in there just to get a phone replaced. They also close trick you into re-opening lines so they get a commission. They'll sound like they know all about the devices (e.g. MiFi devices) Verizon offers, yet don't know didley squat. It may be alright to go there for little things, but I wouldn't go in there for any major thing like new phones, lines etc. read more

Have had great service from Gabriel Torres and his team! I bought a new iphone Xs in September 2019 and per his instructions I was able to exchange it before the time ran out for a rose colored model I'd hoped to get. He stopped at another store to make sure I got the model I was looking for, helped with the transfer until it was complete along with the most current update. Additionally he reminded me that the screen protection warranty needed to be registered on line, which I did thanks to his prompting. TCC helped to transfer a cell number and start a contract with a new phone. Verizon added several layers to starting the new contract that complicated the process. Peter worked diligently with the Verizon technician to see the process through. I rate Verizon with one star for unnecessary delays and Peter with five stars for customer service. read more

*NOT A REAL VERIZON STORE* Awful customer service! My husband and I came in this store to trade in our old iPhones. We were told to order the new iPhones first and then mail in our old ones. Well, we were not given proper instructions nor did they mention a DEADLINE date that we have to do this by... We are now dealing with Verizon headquarters to try to give the $200 for each phone that we had expected to receive! Do not go to this "licensed retailer" location (not a real store) - they are not properly trained by Verizon. read more

My husband wants me to give this place 0 stars after his visit there today. He entered after having lost his phone with the intention of buying a new phone but feels he was treated poorly either because he doens't fit the description of the average Evanston/Wilmette patron or because they're just lazy. There were 3 salespeople on staff and the man he interfaced with never got up out of his chair while speaking with my husband, never got up to show him some phones he might be interested in. He had gone in determined to buy a phone because he truly needs it for work but after the treatment he received at this store, he decided it could wait and he will go to another location tomorrow. No wonder they have 2 1/2 stars here on yelp. read more

Jason was tremendous! I had lost my phone, came in, Jason got me set up on an old phone as a temporary fix. Then when my lost phone was found, he not only ported my number back but contacted billing to ensure all my previous discounts were applied (which would not have happened automatically without Jason's help). All the while he was juggling several other customers. Great guy! Came in about four times with all this, and was lucky to have Jason each time. One star off for Verizon up charge. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service in the history of the world. Not only does the staff not care about the customer, the manager seems to encourage and gain joy from making the customer unhappy. While lines of customers form, the inattentive staff enjoy their time "working" by watching the large in-store TV. Not exactly what I would call a professional working environment. Not only will I never go to this store again. I will be switching service providers after 11 years with Verizon and will be encouraging my family, friends, employer and clients to do the same. I stepped in here today hoping to pay my phone bill quickly. The moment I walked in, the 2 store associates just looked at me, never bothered to greet me, ask if I needed help or said "I'll be right there." I stood there waiting for something, but nothing. They just ignored me. I understand they were with a different customer, but out politeness and because it's their job, the could have said something. So I finally spoke & asked if they had the machine, to which the woman said no. I politely said thanks & walked out. Rude & awkward at its best. I've been using this store for five years, and the staff there is always knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Today in particular, I went in because my new phone was completely frozen and just past the return date. Chad and the manager worked for about an hour to get the problem solved without me having to wait for a new phone. It was a life saver. Plus, they just expanded the store space so there's plenty more to check out in there. read more

The reason I'm writing this review is because I've had some pretty bad experiences in the past with Verizon sales/service people, who appeared incompetent and disinterested if I wasn't purchasing a phone. But this past week, I had one of those refreshing, really positive experiences that remind you of the way good sales/service people used to behave. I was waited on by Lucas, at the Greenbay store in Evanston, on a Sunday evening, right before closing. He was the only person working in the store and I was awed by how competently and patiently he served 3 customers simultaneously! He answered every question and helped carry out both problem solving services as well as sales services with all 3 parties and he did it with grace, even though it was past closing time. Went to pay a bill with no one in the store except 3 employees. They sat and talked amongst themselves while I had to wait to get service. Once they finally acknowledged me the the person that was helping continued to talk to the other employee and was completely distracted. I Don't usually waste my time writing reviews but customer service was really bad. The Lincolnwood store is much more attentive. read more

Despite being the only rep in the store- Chris G did a superb job of helping me get a new iPhone7 with my Verizon upgrade plan. He was simultaneously helping three other customers alone: he was very patient, respectful, apologetic and knowledgeable. DO NOT TRUST THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THIS STORE; THEY ARE S-A-L-E-S-PEOPLE, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. My experience has turned me against Verizon completely; I am also researching other avenues to make my complaint/experience more official. My suggestion is to do all research on line, if Verizon still looks like your best deal then call them. If you don't get someone who can provide the level of help just hang up, (say thank you!), and call again. Ethical customer service still exists, but you will not find it at this "Verizon Retailer." Horrible experience. They are straight up deceitful. I went in to get an upgrade and was told "I can get you a new iPhone for $200, and you get all of these accessories included". I happily agreed. Turns out, after getting my verizon bill later, that the new phone was nor $200, but was rather broken up into 24-month payments like everyone else. So what was the $200 for? It was for all of the full price accessories, like a screen protector for $39.99 and speakers for $59.99, insurance, an expensive case, etc. I went to try to return all of these expensive accessories, and I can't because I don't have the original packaging...because THEY KEPT IT. Zero stars is more appropriate. Terrible, awful customer service. I originally came into the store in October to get a new iPhone, which they had to order. First, they forgot to order the phone. Then (after I called several times), they ordered the wrong one. Finally, they ordered the correct phone for me, but when it came in (now mid-December at this point in the process) they sold it to someone else. So, almost 3 months later and I still don't have the new phone I need. They have 100 excuses for their terrible performance, and now, having wasted a number of hours at their store or on the phone with them, I have heard most of them. I have never written a yelp review, but this store so extraordinarily underperformed, that I felt compelled to sign up to post about this experience so that others might benefit from this knowledge.
