This was a sweet brunch spot in a nice section of Raleigh. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Mike, who was so friendly. They seemed to be a little short staffed, as it was very busy and we had to wait a bit for him to clean the area and get us our menus. The choice of drinks was great and our mimosas were good. I'm a Raleigh native, who now serves in the US Navy, and recently returned to Raleigh to visit family for the holidays. We all had never tried Another Broken Egg Café and decided to give it a try based on the Yelp rankings. Unfortunately, if disorganized had a face, it would be this café. I do not recommend this place unless you have at least 4 hours to spare. We (party of 2) were placed on the waitlist around 1130 on 02JUL22 and were told that the wait would be about 45 to 60 min. We were seated around 1245, 75 min later. After the long wait, we knew what we wanted to order and ordered immediately around 1250. This café closes at 1400, we were the last to be seated, and the restaurant was clearing out, so we just knew our food would be out in a timely manner and delicious. Between 1250 and 1330, we were not checked on to order any drinks and even had to flag down our waitress to ask for more water. At that time, we asked for the estimated time for our food. We were told that the cook had about 6 tickets ahead of us, which included a 12+ party table and multiple 4+ party tables. After 2 hours of waiting, we knew we would have to wait at least another hour for our food. Our waitress "assured" us by saying that wait times for food were always 40+ min on the weekend and that she'd bring out our food as soon as it was ready. We decided to leave and try the #1 pick on Yelp, Metro Diner, which seated us in 10 minutes and had our food delivered in 15 minutes, despite a restaurant full of people. read more

This restaurant is located in north hills near several other restaurants and businesses. We dined in on a Saturday so there was a wait for a table. We were able to sit down while we waited. We waited about 30 minutes before we were seated. The tables were fairly close at this location so there wasn't much privacy. It was also cold inside of the business. Next time I will have to bring a jacket. Our waitress was nice but she did not really check on us that much while we dined. I ordered the veggie omelet that was served with goat cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. I did not get the mushrooms in my omelet. The omelet is typically served with English muffins and fresh fruit but I chose the county potatoes and wheat toast. I also ordered a side of city grits. The city grits are cooked with cheese and topped with bacon and tomatoes. They were really good. I would definitely get them again. My omelet, potatoes, and toast were also good. read more

Long wait for those who don't choose to utilize the outdoor seating, we took the liberty of getting some fresh air and a chill breeze to sit 54 mins earlier, the yelp waitlist option is nice! The Bloody Marys were super spicy.. ‍...and the olives were too salty. The food was delivered in a timely manner and when we asked the blonde food runner if she could bring us jalapeños she was too inconvenienced and said she would pass the task to the server who was over seated and trying to do his best. We sat patiently until out food was cool.. so i went into the establishment and asked another server and she came out the kitchen in less than a minute... and i picked out drinks up from the bar as well. This spot was super cute and delicious! I was in North Carolina visiting a friend when we decided to try this place. We both ended up getting the biscuits and gravy, and it was amazing! I don't always like sausage gravy because places can make it too spicy, but this was just right. They have some super cute drink options on their menu too. She got a blueberry lavender mimosa which was pretty good! There was a little too much blueberry + the glass was a little small for a $8 mimosa, but she did like it. Another Broken Egg is a very popular place to go for breakfast. There were 6 in our party, and we had about a forty five minute wait. They have a lot of choices and are party enjoyed the meals we received. Are waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately, there was a larger party that put in their order before us. From the time we placed our order until the food arrived at our table, over a hour had elapsed. Our waitress apologized several times, but no one else had approached us. I think this probably has to be one of the worst experiences ive had. We picked one place to go during a first trip to Raleigh and it happened to be this. HUGE mistake, that ill never stop beating myself up for. 1. Our waiter seemed really high or just really slow and out of it, just kind of mumbled at us with zero customer service and it was so awkward. I dont even know how to fully describe how weird that guy was. The place was not busy and we got neglected pretty much the whole time. He didnt bus a single thing off the table and had to ask multiple times for water. 2. we waited ages for our food and it came out extremely cold. Barely edible. Im not the kind of jerk to send things back and plus we were so starved it was not worth having to start something over. Our grits were congealed and my crab cake was weird and mushy. I dont want to blame the kitchen as the flavors were there, Im nearly positive it's because our neglectful waiter just left our food stitting there waiting to go out for ages. Many ppl who came in after got their meals much sooner. A busser ( who was awesome and charismatic and definitely should be waiting tables instead) was the one who eventually brought it all out. 3. My partner got a bloody mary and what came out was just a small mason jar with no garnish. It looked and tasted sad. 4. We cant afford to go out often, and the bill of this place felt like a punch in the guts. It was sooo expensive and we still tip like 20% just to pay it forward even if the waiter clearly doesnt deserve it. Honestly really hope a good chunk goes to the busser who was actually killing it. 5. The ambiance really sucks. Worst music station ever, went from bad country to bad old top 40 etc. the place itself is really tacky and the fake plant next to us was covered in dust and webs. Barf 6. To top of the shit cake with a shit cherry, I GOT FOOD POISONING. It was the only thing I ate that day and we were going on the long trip back home and I was so sick and it was a miserable, miserable time. I went here with a friend of mine today (Saturday) and we really enjoyed this place. it was very clean but extremely busy but our server was pretty attentive and quick with anything that we needed. I highly recommend joining the waitlist a few minutes before arrival. when we arrive to be seated another group came in and they had at least an hour and a half wait. so I ordered the supreme omelette that has bacon mushrooms cheese and sausage in it with a side of fruits. I finished it for the most part as the omelette is pretty big. They also have regular orange mimosas, strawberry, cranberry, and apple. I tried both the strawberry and cranberry mimosas and they were both delicious. The prices are very reasonable. Their brunch menu runs between I'll say $10 and $20 on average. Parking isn't that bad if you choose to park in the Harris Teeter garage. Other than that parking can be very difficult on the weekends. The cool thing about their wait is you can put down your number, you get a text stating your place in line...from Yelp!! I thought that was one of the coolest features. Once we were seated, we were immediately given waters and coffee. I initially ordered the Chicken and Waffle...which when it came out was a humongous fail. I was curious about the chipotle honey that was listed...but the presentation and taste fell short. I had two bites and immediately called the waiter over. He agreed and talked with the manager to have the item removed. When I was making my decision, I was debating hard between the Chicken and Waffle vs the Shrimp and Grits. I had the opportunity to try both and let me tell you, the shrimp and grits blew the Chicken and Waffle out of the water. Presented beautifully and it tasted equally as amazing. My party expected a crowd or longer wait times but when service lacks it makes it hard to give a great review. But my omelette made it all better. The Mardi Gras omelette was extremely tasty. I went in for the first time today for brunch with my friends. I got there before my friends so I put my name on the waitlist. The lady told me it'd be 45-50 min wait and since one of my friends were running late, it wasn't a big deal. After over an hour, I started seeing people who came after me getting tables yet here I was still waiting for my table. I went inside to check on it just to find out that my name was "removed" from the waitlist. So had I not gone inside to check, I would've been waiting for I don't know how long. When the lady noticed that my name was removed, she tried to put it back on the list but it was not letting her. She talked to 2 other guys that were standing by and ended up sitting me right away. When I asked for my check in offer, gourmet muffin, the server informed me that it's her first day so she will ask. When she came back, she let me know that they no longer offer the muffins and offered beneits instead. I ordered chicken and waffles. Waffle and chicken were both crispy and tasty. However, I didn't enjoy the beneits too much. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with their service or food. I've been to better brunch places. read more

My friend and I came to have a late brunch as this restaurant was at a convenient location for both of us and we both had good experiences in several different occasions. We expected the wait for Saturday brunch will be long, so we patiently waited for out table. We both checked in with our Yelp app and were supposed get gourmet muffin for our check-in. No toilet tissues in the actual tissue dispenser but almost-full rolls of toilet tissues were chilling on the bathroom floor. You would expect a good brunch place located in a good shopping center would take care of their own bathroom. I ordered Hey Nancy! Omelette. I love avocado, sour cream, and spices with my food, so even though I had this same exact omelette in the past, I decided to be basic and get the same one again with potatoes on the side. My mistake! First, the freaking potatoes were too salty! If I finished the potato, I would've had to drink a jug of water by myself. The omelette was super dry and unflavorful. This was not what I had in the past, so I was very disappointed. The sour cream and salsa that came with my dish were so small in portion that I felt like I didnt even get them in the first place. Because of my salty AF potatoes, I drank my water pretty fast. I saw my waitress walking by attending other customers but not paying attention to my water. She even came to my table and asked if everything was okay with food. We politely said yes, and that moment she started walking away. I had to stop her to get her attention on my water. The overall experience was bad. Up until today, I thought highly of this place and wondered why the rating was so low. Guess what? I now know why!! HA! I won't be back! We sat at the bar for Saturday brunch, the bartender was super nice and energetic. Overall though we had to ask 3 times for our water over a long period of time and was irritated from us asking for the water. My food along with the lady next to me had cold food served. The bar was extremely messy we witnessed the bartender brake 3 glasses within 30 minutes. We watched her break a pitcher from slamming the champagne bottle into it. She was openly complaining about how many bloody Mary's she had to make while I'm drinking one. She also didn't ID anyone along with asking how we wanted our checks split. You can pick to sit inside or out, it's a cute little place for a date with your significant others, friends or family. For my first time they gave me beignet biscuits to try and it was out standing. For my entree I got "CHICKEN, MANGO & SPINACH SALAD" In a bowl it came with spinach and chicken in a warm bacon vinaigrette with mango, chopped bacon, goat cheese, pecans and pickled red onions. Came here for brunch on Sunday so of course it was busy... luckily we were able to check into the waitlist through yelp! We found seats at the bar where the service was a bit... mediocre.. (for a breakfast place the waiters at the bar weren't very chipper). The man who helped us lacked personality that I think would completely change my whole experience but that's neither here nor there... We ended up getting a pitcher of mimosa for $23.99 v. Paying $7.29 per mimosa which seemed like a good idea until we got the pitcher which was very small might i add. I got the shrimp and grits which was very good, full of flavor and a bit spicy. I hate it, but I was disgusted. Initially, I liked everything. The menu is really good. Brunch all day, salads, gluten free options, whatever you want, they have it. Great menu for a breakfast diner/cafe. And, the have a bar!! I had no idea. I love that. The moment the bartender pulled down her face mask and ran her hand, from her palm to the tips of her fingers, up her nose killed it for me. Right in front of me and continued to serve and grab glasses and drinks and everything else. I don't get turned off easily but this is so groot to me. When we checked in they told us the wait would be around 30 minutes, so they took our number and sent a text like 15 mins later that our table was ready - major plus! My husband ordered the banana foster French toast, which was a custom order because the menu only showed banana foster pancakes.
