A friend and I met here for Saturday breakfast. Unfortunately, she didn't call ahead and get us on the list so we had to wait about 20 minutes. We chatted on a bench across the way from the restaurant for a little while (they need the option to order from the bar and wait outside). Once we were called, I made eye contact with the hostess. Frustratingly, she just continued to take down people's information for the wait list for several more minutes before I got a word in to tell her we were ready. It wasn't the best start. Upon sitting down, my friend asked for a printed menu. She was only given one as we just sat and looked at each other, a bit dumbfounded. The waiter said, "It's policy." Umm, what? I'm pretty sure no one is getting COVID from giving a table two menus. What a stupid policy. Frustrated, my friend went outside and got a second menu for us. After the rough start to breakfast, we finally ordered. She got the huevos rancheros while I chose the carrot cake pancakes (skipped the frosting because I knew they'd be sweet). Holy moly! They were AMAZING. The artery blocking carbs were 100% worth it. Our waitress was very nice and good about checking on us after the earlier mess, so hats off to her. We came in for brunch, we showed up around 11:45, we had a party of 9 they told us it would be a 45 minute wait. We waited while they kept sitting smaller parties (very understandable) around 12:50 I went to ask for an update told us it would be a couple minutes more. It is now 1:30 and we are still not being sat and we decided to leave. I had called ahead of time and they told me they say people in first come first serve basis but they did not bother to sit any big parties (there was a couple) and only sat small tables. Came in for a regular lunch during the week. We were immediately seated and our waiter greeted us within minutes. The menu has a lot of great options but I settled on the Apple Fritter French Toast (and LOVED it). I also had scrambled eggs and bacon. Both sides were also delicious. Let's get into it! Another Broken Egg is always been a vibe for me, food wise. Service at other locations in Georgia have been decent, but Halley made our experience in North Hills even that much better. We were sat close to closing time, but she still provided us with amazing service! My Grand-Mimosa was fresh and cold. I ordered the Mardi Gras omelet and my partner got the Hey Lucy Omelet. Both dishes were amazing and they both came out right in enough time. The both of us being industry people, I really appreciate when servers go above and beyond what's expected of them. My mother and I came in for breakfast today and I must say, we were a bit disappointed. It took longer than normal for almost everything despite it being fairly slow with minimal guests. Our waiter, Omar, was very friendly and apologized for any delays in our service. The restaurant overall doesn't look like it's maintained properly as the seating is worn, etc. The primary soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken and the soap that was put there in its place was empty and had been filled with water to make it stretch, making me concerned for staff who may be using the restroom and going back to work. My food was okay and my mother's grits were watery and unseasoned. I generally love ABE but don't have plans to return to this location anytime soon. Maybe it was just an off day, but I hope that some things can be adjusted or I can imagine this location won't be open for much longer. read more

We came to this restaurant for a late breakfast on 3/8/24 and 3/9/24 with 3 other people and my service dog. My fiance, my service dog, and I left the restaurant as my mom waited in the lobby area for my dad to finish in the restroom. My mom overheard the host talking crap about us to a coworker about the service dog, and us eating there two days in a row. The host did not greet us either day, and the first day she was texting on her phone while we were standing there waiting to put our name in. She was very rude and unprofessional both days, which was obvious when she talked badly about customers in front of an entire lobby of customers waiting to be seated. HOWEVER, the food was good and our waitresses were OUTSTANDING! They were extremely nice and personable!! They definitely made up for the crappy service from the host. This was not a positive experience. Everything was normal up until I my order was taken. then my waitress was apparently given bar duty as I saw her mixing drinks for an extended period of time. "Ownership of my table was apparently not handed off to anyone as different waiters came by for taking the order and deliver it with no one following up. I saw my waitress who was doing bar duty come out to serve multiple different tables of customers so she clearly forgot I was her customer. I tried to get her attention several times without success when she came to serve other customers. The other wait staff has have obviously not been trained in taking notice of "orphaned"customers. The food quality was OK but nothing exceptional. The Breakfast potato's were not 100% fresh and had been somewhat processed in the food factory. I had a good newspaper to read and I sat for an extended period to see if anyone would notice I was receiving bad service (actually non-service). I finally approached my "waitress" when she came into my general area and asked if I could have my bill. She finally noticed she had forgotten me and apologized but the damage was done. She said they were down one waiter but that didn't stop her from serving all the other customers. I don't know if the service is like this all the time. I just know it was bad on my visit. read more

You know when someone gets you really excited about a movie then you finally go to see it and it ends up being pretty terrible because it did not live up to the long-term perceived expectations? That's how our experience at Another Broken Egg was... We'd been told multiple times by our hotel staff and some locals that the new North Hills development was the place to be. They kept recommending Another Broken Egg for Sunday brunch so we finally gave in and joined the Yelp waitlist. When we got there it was an overall 45 minute wait and our name was 10th or so on the list. You give them your cell number and they alert you when it's almost your time to be seated. We went for a walk exploring the development and came back an hour later when my phone still hadn't been contacted. It took us an additional 25 minutes after that to be seated. Now that may not be the restaurant's fault, entirely, but I've never waited that long overdue for a waitlist reservation in my life. We only had a party of 3, too. Once we were in things moved a lot faster. Our wait staff were not very kind and clearly stressed from the crowd. Everything on the menu sounded incredible, but later we learned that was all marketing. I ordered off the seasonal menu choosing the brisket breakfast on cornbread waffles. Sounds bomb right? I really wanted to love it but they over killed it with too many sauces, and the brisket was way chewier than brisket should be. The potatoes were warm and tasted fine but the texture was more plastic. We also ordered a side of beignets which were not the traditional kind but the dipping sauce made them tasty. I really did not enjoy our experience here, and my friends can agree, it was not worth the wait or the hype. The menu is too good to be true and not worth the prices. Though there really is "something for everyone" with their extensive menu, it just wasn't as good as it sounded and not as fresh as we would have liked. read more

My first stop after landing was ABEC, my friend wanted to introduce me to a couple of restaurants that had not had the opportunity to check out on my last visit. With no clue about what to order or what I had a taste for. The safest bet was to start with a beverage. The lemon blueberry mimosa was the perfect choice. Refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. As a first timer I was offered some complimentary Beignets. They were warm sugar dusted pillows of fried dough heaven and the orange marmalade was a nice added addition, but be careful of the inevitable sugar rush that will ensue. After a great deal of deliberating and a barrage of questions all answered gracefully by the wonderful Hayden. My friend and I finally made some hard decisions. I went with Nellie's Chicken Sandwich w/ a substitution of Fired Green Tomatoes and my friend decided on the Floridian Omelette breakfast with seasoned country potatoes with a dainty side of strawberry french toast. All the food was delish, with the Beignets and fried green tomatoes being two of my favorites. The menu has so much to choose from there is no doubt I will return on my next visit. This morning Sunday August 25, We arrived at 10:30 another broken egg Raleigh, Norrh Hills- seated immediately at table for two outside. At 10:55 not a single person came to the table. Another table across from us was seated at 10:50 and at 10:55 they had water, and a server taking their order. At that time I want inside and asked for a manager Quintin came out about five minutes later we explained that we had been waiting since 10:30 when we were seated to have someone come and offer us water r coffee and take our order. He apologized and said no one was assigned to our table. He took our order and brought us coffee. We had our meal and then when the check arrived we were over charged for a side that we were told was offered with our meal. We brought it to their attention and they took $3.00 off however we were over charged 5.50 We just paid the bill and left a nice tip for destiny as it was not her fault for all the mishaps. They could have al least not charged us for the side that we were told was part of the meal.. Not returning anytime soon. read more

First time at this establishment and service was great!!! Was quite a little wait for the food but it was a Sunday and it was very busy. Waitress kept checking to make sure we were good and to let us know that food was coming as quickly as possible. We had the pitcher of strawberry mimosa and it was delicious. Had the pleasure of eating the shrimp and grits (garlic bread) and the bourbon pancakes. It was delicious, I was not disappointed and it made my visit to Raleigh better since we didn't have such a great dinner (at another restaurant) the evening before. I went to another broken egg cafe the other day before my class, and I was super excited to try this place, since I've seen good reviews about this business. As a breakfast connoisseur, I was extremely excited. However, my experience was mediocre, and I hate to say that, considering I LOVE FOOD! The business is located near the center of north hills, so it took me a bit to find the building, since I am directionally challenged. I walked in, and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. The staff was great, don't get me wrong, they are kind, and they check on you often, which is nice if you ever need anything. The reason this review gets three stars comes down to the food only. I ordered the salmon Benedict, and a side of potatoes with cheese on top. Y'all KNOW how much I love cheese, and let me say the potatoes, when the cheese was on the top, were good. I dipped them in ketchup, which was just a great combination. However, once I ran out of cheese, I had to stop eating, and move onto my entree. The salmon Benedict, was served on a bagel. Normally, when I order Benedict's, they are on soft English muffins, which are easy to cut and eat, but I was really struggling with the bagel aspect of this dish. The salmon part was pretty good, but also when I eat a Benedict, I expect a decently runny egg, but it seemed like my egg was more on the hard end. This is why I was just a tad disappointed. Also, I think my whole meal was around $25-$30 for just me, but keep in mind, I also leave at least a 20% tip. This was a bit pricey for a breakfast that wasn't my favorite. Maybe it was just what I ordered, or maybe they do their Benedict's differently, and I should've paid more attention. However, I could go to Big Ed's and get the best breakfast meal ever, for much cheaper. Maybe next time, I'll try something different, because the meal was still good, just not my favorite. read more

I have to say that the food here is awesome. I usually don't finish my plate and have to take some home but the cinnamon roll French toast? Perfection on a plate! The space is okay. It can be a bit crowded when sitting down especially when busy which seems like always lol! The service is cool too. My only gripe is with the online waitlist. You can go online and reserve a spot ahead of time for seating. However what I didn't know is apparently when you arrive, you have to let the host/hostess know that you reserved your spot online so that they can then "officially" put you on the waitlist. It begged the question for me of what's the point of using the waitlist online? It seems like a hassle to me but hey what are you gonna do? I will be back though because you just can't argue with the fact that the food is amazing! read more

I don't care how far from home I go I will always seek this spot-this was the perfect brunch spot for my family & I to meet before departing. You can make reservations online but because our party was larger than 6, I called in. I spoke with Martina when I called in and she was very nice and pleasant. She assisted me with the reservations. Our reservations were for noon and we arrived about 1145, I checked in at the front as instructed. We waiting for about another hour before being seated. Just know the weekends are extremely busy and if you don't have patience this isn't the spot for you on the weekends. By the time we were seated we definitely had an appetite. Hubby and I had a fantastic breakfast at ABEC! We used the waitlist to bypass any line/wait and were seated immediately upon arrive on a busy Saturday morning. The menu had lots of great breakfast to brunch options for a really reasonable price. Hubby opted for the supreme omelette which came loaded with sausage, bacon, onions and cheddar cheese. As well as an english muffin and choice of potato. For a small up-charge he was able to add a half stack of pancakes for a complete albeit massive meal. I flip flopped between several of the options on the indulgence section of the menu but ultimately went with the cinnamon roll french toast. This things was huge as well and came with 2 eggs any style and choice of meat. One bite in and I knew this French toast meant business! It was decadently topped with cream cheese icing, rum butter sauce, a strawberry blueberry medley and fresh whipped cream. Pure heaven on a plate! I came in at around 12 for lunch on Monday, December 16. 2024, i had a waitress by the name Amtalla S or something like that. Came to our table only once in an hour. I ordered the chicken and waffles, when the food arrived it was cold and stale. Couldn't even finish it was so cold. The syrup container was really dirty and gross and sticky. Ahhhh. I loved this place. So cute and charming. The music was great, the service was great, and the food was tasty! I am not a morning person (which is good because they serve breakfast all day!) but this little place had raving reviews from friends and we knew we had to try it. I can honestly say it was worth waking up for! The wait times were crazy this weekend so we went today, a Monday morning, and enjoyed all the hustle and bustle of a cheery breakfast cafe. It was not too loud, the environment had great vibes, and the little details were so charming. Get something hot to drink because the coffee mugs are adorable! I wanted to take mine home. I got hot coat with whip cream- sooo good. The black cherry mimosa was also delicious, not too sweet. The biscuits and gravy were amazing- just enough spice and kick. My husband got the lobster Brie omelet and loved it. The breakfast potatoes are good, as were the eggs we got. There were cute little broken eggs on the light fixtures, and the tables were made of copper which was so cool- because it was our 7th anniversary! Food was 30-40 minutes arriving, one order wrong, items missing. We tried a couple of times to flag down two waitstaff who just walked on by. My 2 stars are solely dedicated to my Strawberry St. Germain Mimosa. I came to another broken egg after a moms night out and was highly disappointed. I order the new short rib option on the menu. The grits were barely warm as were the just on the verge of toughness two pieces of short rib that came with it. My knife was dirty so I had to request new cutlery. I ordered a side of pancakes with my meal. My pancakes were given to me with a syrup carafe.. FILLED WITH WARM WATER. Just imagine my surprise when I went to put syrup on my pancakes and water came running out. I asked that the short ribs be taken back and I just got another order of pancakes with bacon. Overall really nice breakfast place and the North hills area it is in is super nice and we walked around after breakfast to let the food settle. We were a little dissatisfied with how watery the syrup is and how the butter is in little packs and not melted onto the pancakes like most breakfast places but that didn't take away from how good the food was :) The service was also amazing!
