The Cary location vibe is elegant without being intimidating and less cramped than the Chicago restaurant. The service was impeccable. Our server, Reid provided helpful recommendations and gave us feedback on our choices. His knowledge of the menu was clearly thorough. We tried the "knuckle sandwich", the roadside smash, and the rigatoni and meatballs - all of which were outstanding. At Reid's suggestion we paired the burger and lobster sandwich with the crispy jalapeños side - so good. We rounded out the meal with a hazy ipa and a cider, both local and delicious. Doc B's is one of those places that never lets you down. I've been here several times, and whenever I'm in town for a work event, this is usually where we end up for dinner. The staff is consistently friendly, the food is always great, and the space is clean, lively, and welcoming. It works just as well for families and date nights as it does for friend gatherings or corporate dinners, whether it's a large group or just a few of us out for an offsite meal. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The appetizers are all solid, and I'm fairly certain I've taken down an entire guacamole plate on my own before. The Caesar salad is a favorite, and I usually choose between one of their steaks, which has never disappointed. We've also dined with people who have dietary restrictions including gluten-free and vegetarian needs, and the kitchen has always been accommodating. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, and parking has always been easy and convenient, which is a big plus when you're coming in with a group. One small, constructive note from earlier visits is that a couple of servers were newer and less comfortable with wine recommendations. This is completely understandable and didn't detract from the experience, but having a quick backup or simple pairing guidance could make business dinners even smoother. On our most recent visit, I arrived late and the group had already ordered wine, and the selections were excellent. The food was outstanding, the service was seamless, and everything came together beautifully. Overall, Doc B's continues to be a reliable, enjoyable spot with great food, a welcoming vibe, and strong service. We chose this beautiful and elegant restaurant for our anniversary dinner with family and friends. Loved the decor which is very modern and classy, they have outside seating and outside waiting area too. We ordered their cocktails, and beers in beverages that were extremely flavourful and strong. For starters we ordered their rustic salsa, crispy chicken bites and buffalo shrimp poppers. The crispy chicken were so soft and tender and tasted so good with their different varieties of dips, but shrimp poppers definitely stole the show and was so good that we ordered another. Perfectly battered and fried shrimp with the slightly tangy buffalo sauce is a must try. For main course we ordered their linguine and shrimp, marinated chicken kabab and blackened fish sandwich. Linguine and shrimp was a little bland for our taste, but salt and pepper helped. But it was still buttery and melted in our mouths, loved it! The chicken kabab was full of spices which was tangy and a little spicy but tasted great with its taziki sause, white rice, cucumber and tomatoes. They had a kids menu which is unusual at high end restaurants which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered chicken quesadillas with fries and a drink for my daughter, she enjoyed everything. The double decker chocolate cake was a perfect end to our evening as far as food was concerned. The server took care of our order efficiently but the overall tone felt somewhat reserved and less friendly than we expected. We were celebrating our anniversary which we did mention when we were reserving the table and also we had the bouquets and gifts on our table but the server never bothered to ask or wish which seemed very off, may be it was an off day for her, but it definitely affected our overall experience. read more

I had dinner at Doc B's on a busy Thursday evening. This was my second visit to Doc B's. Anna was our incredible server. We started with cocktails, which were perfectly made. There was a miscommunication with our cocktail order, so my friend had to wait longer for her correct order, but it was worth the wait. Doc B's is a vibe inside and out. A lot of comfortable seating, pretty decor and great music. We ordered the kale and artichoke dip to share, it was so good! We needed more chips and they came out in within seconds of us making the request, that was impressive. For entrees, my friend ordered the turkey burger and fries, and said they were good, but she loves the Chicken Parmesan there and wished she would have ordered that instead of trying something new. I tried something new as well, the Coconut Curry Jumbo Shrimp. I was very disappointed. The shrimp were tasty and that was really it. He did not flinch when we ordered a million drinks he even brought us some samples of house cocktails he thought we might like. Dinner was good. We loved everything about this newer restaurant in Fenton. The ambiance, the staff, the menu, the food...everything was stellar! Recommend reservations cause they were packed on a Saturday afternoon, but luckily they were still able to seat us quickly. The staff have clearly been trained well to work together to achieve customer satisfaction. Multiple people took care of us, from a gal who started us off with water, to a manager that checked on us near the end of our meal, and our Waiter was a great guy. Let's talk food. I couldn't love the menu more for it's variety and originality. They had me at Grilled Artichokes!!! With a housemade remoulade (everything is made in house except ketchup). $18 might seem steep for an appetizer, but this came with three giant artichokes. I had one. Husband the other and the other beauty came home with me. For entrees he had the petite filet with crispy jalapeno potatoes and housemade steak sauce and loved it. I had the Tangled Noodle Bowl and they honored my request of chicken instead of steak or tofu. It was delicious but super rich. They are not afraid of flavor here! For dessert we shared the most amazing and very real key lime pie. We came in for dinner without a reservation and was sat almost immediately which was nice. We were a tiny bit underdressed compared to the rest of the customers. The staff was really nice. We were greeted almost immediate and our server checked in pretty frequently. However, since we were kind of tucked away in the corner we did have to ask for refills once. We got the candied bacon as an appetizer. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory and reminded me of a carmelized brown sugar. You could actually see some of the caramelization on the bacon. For my meal I got Freddy's Nightly Special, which was sea bass. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Mashed potatoes were some of the fluffiest I've tried and the greens were surprisingly flavorful. The side of lemon was even wrapped so the seeds don't fall into my food. It's a subtle touch but the little things they thought about were really nice. Random but I really liked the type of ice they put in the drinks. It's pretty much a bigger version of crushed ice. Although they could probably put less ice in the cup because it melts pretty slowly and you don't get much drink. We had first been to Doc B's in Tampa about 6-7 years ago. It had been a while and was excited to see that we were getting one in Cary. Service was great and the food- delicious. I had the Cobb salad but with grilled chicken. The chicken was a good size and everything on the salad tasted fresh and was very filling. We had two desserts and they did not disappoint either. Would consider stopping by for just dessert as well one day :-) The only complaint was the drink was the cherry old fashioned. It was pretty highly priced for a predone drink. I dropped by for lunch at Doc'B. I was immediately greeted and I sat at the bar. The service here is impeccable. I love how the bartender laid down the white clothe napkin over the bar counter. This definitely gave off clean and hygienic for me after my cocktail and food arrived it helped out with taking care of the he spills that sometime happen while eating and drinking. The restaurant was extremely clean and well lit. Loving the open kitchen concept and seeing the skilled chef at work in the kitchen. I enjoyed the chicken kabob bowl. This the was perfect balance of protein and vegetables. Very light yet filling . The Chicken Kebab Bowl has cilantro rice, hummus, tzatziki, feta, crispy chickpeas, cucumber salad and olive tapenade. There was also romaine but don't recall it mentioned on the menu. This was a great combo and I've tried to recreate it at home, so it was a hit with me. I went to Doc B's on Saturday after a Zumba class with a party of five. We got there around 3:30, and while it was pretty busy inside, we were seated outside on the patio. It turned out to be a really nice day. Not too hot and the vibe was super chill. Kids were playing on the grass nearby, which added a fun, relaxed energy to the whole scene. Our waiter, Jay, was really friendly and helpful. He recommended the spicy margarita, called the Internal Affair, which three of us ended up ordering. It came with a salted rim, but none of us were asked if we wanted salt, and unfortunately, the salt seemed to mix into the drink itself. It tasted kinda salty. We didn't send them back and just rolled with it, but one of my friends did order a second one without the salt rim, and that one came out perfect. So definitely speak up if you're ordering that drink! For my meal, I had the smash burger, which I really enjoyed. It came with fries, which were just okay. Not bad, just not memorable. Overall, my friends said that they n enjoyed their food. One only complained that her sweet potato froes were cold. The star of the show was the cinnamon toast crunch cheesecake. I was torn between that and the tres leches, but after tasting someone else's cheesecake, I couldn't resist. I tried to save it for later, but yeah... it didn't make it home. That thing was so good. I loved the crunchyness of the crust. The inside of the restaurant was nice, and I appreciated the vibe overall. I always loved that "scan and pay" way to pay our bills individually. Great overall experience! The ambiance was very nice, there was a 30 min wait so I sat at the bar, which I had great service. Surprised because the bar was busy but the bar tender was very attentive. They have a large menu I missed my opportunity to snap a photo because we were celebrating! I got the lobster roll (I wish it was warm for my taste) it was flavorful with the arugula mix. Sweet potato fries were fresh and sweet, I would add some salt or ask them to cook them longer if you like firmer I would ask them to cook them longer. The regular fries are delicious the guacamole was fresh and the chicken appetizer were hot and (idea purposes only they kinda remind you of chicken-fila nuggets) again my interpretation. The wait staff was great and allowed us to bring in our cake and lovingly ask my mom to be their baker . The atmosphere is very chic with a modern, stylish vibe--and the see-through kitchen is a fantastic touch that adds both transparency and charm. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home from the moment I stepped in. I ordered the Dang Dang Crispy Oysters--lettuce cups filled with mango slaw, peanuts, and perfectly fried oysters--for $21, and let me tell you, they are worth every penny. I went here two days in a row - my first experience was good. The service was excellent. They made an exception for us that was very kind. I had the fish sandwich and elote corn and their old fashion that's on tap is surprisingly very good considering it's on tap. However, when I went back the next day, they were out of the fish which was disappointing and the person I was with that time didn't enjoy their food as much. With all that being said, I will eventually be back. It didn't jump to the top of my list, but it's a solid choice. It's a bit pricey for a "jack of all trades" type place, but not too bad. read more

I had such a great experience at Doc B's overall. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the 1-pound meatball, served with just the right amount of pasta and a few pieces of broccoli. It was hands-down the biggest meatball I've ever seen, and perfectly cooked--tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. There were a couple of hiccups, though. When we first walked in, no one greeted us, and we stood there for a few minutes before finally interrupting a group of staff members to ask if we needed to seat ourselves. Then, my friend and I were given two different menus. We both made our selections, only for me to later be handed the lunch menu, which meant what I originally picked wasn't available for dinner. That part was a little frustrating. But honestly--the meatball made me forget about the rough start. It was that good. It's nice when a menu has different cuisines but it's even better when they can execute them all. I ordered the chicken parm and it was so good. The chicken was cooked perfectly! My colleagues said their orders were great as well and they all ordered different things. The service was good but could have been a little better but it did not hurt the experience. I wouldn't say this was the best but it wasn't the worst either. It looked nice inside and the manager was friendly. The host was kind of friendly but she didn't seem that interested in being there. They also gave one of us the dinner menu during lunch and after he had picked what he wanted, we asked if we can order off this menu when we realized it was different than the rest and he said no, it was a mistake we got that menu. Everything was pretty pricey and I would say some items don't match the price. For example, the chicken bites were as much as an entree/sandwich and for $17 they were pretty basic and small portion. All of the glassware water cups felt really gross if you rubbed your hand on it. My friend had a really long piece of hair rolled into her silverware. The service was very slow as well but friendly. I got a chicken sandwich with the smashed potatoes and jalapeno ailoi because they didn't have sweet potato fries and I'll have to say all the potatoes were really burnt. My sandwich was delicious though. My friends fish sandwich had two smaller pieces of fish on it but she said it was good and not dry. The ribs were fantastic and super tender!!! One of the best items. The wok bowl had good flavor but was drowning in sauce and some of the vegetables a little over charred and the brown rice was under cooked. Our server also didn't write down our orders and we were afraid he wouldn't remember everything and my friend asked for no baby corn and she had baby corn. I wish servers would just write things down, it's not impressive to have you try to remember everyone's order. It not often that I venture over to Cary, but the holiday spirit was in full swing this evening. My friend and I had a reservation and were promptly seated upon our arrival. I must say I found the location of the hostess stand to be in an odd spot and also didn't care for the main entrance having only one door, but other than that, it was a pretty good atmosphere! I hate that I don't recall our servers name, but she was kind, knowledgeable and attentive! Both my friend and I ordered a drink called Crazy beautiful and I loved that it started out clear in color but ended up having a pink hue by the time I was done drinking it-I hate that I don't take an after photo! It was a good, strong drink that personally I think was over priced but that's just me. I ended up ordering a small, 6 ounce filet that came with a side of potatoes. I am wishing that I had requested medium instead of medium well on my meat but that's ok, I still enjoyed it and the sauce that was paired with it was delicious! Came here for dinner recently and had an OK experience, with a few service and food issues. First, we came pretty early for dinner but there weren't any tables available inside without a reservation. Luckily, the outdoor tables were shaded, and ceiling water spritzers sprayed us every once in a while and kept us reasonably hydrated :) Our server swung by shortly after we sat down and took our appetizer order (guacamole and chips!) as well as our drink orders. I was a little underwhelmed by the beer options, and the server was very nice but didn't know anything about beer, so I had to do some Googling :) No big deal though. On the other hand, the server was very helpful to my wife about the cocktail options! The guacamole and chips appetizer was kind of expensive at $16, but they gave us a pretty tall mountain of guac and it was definitely tasty. We were a little wary of the sweet potato chips that came with the appetizer since I'm used to eating guac with plain ol' tortilla chips, but they were actually very good! For our entrees, I ordered the pan roasted chicken ($29) while my wife got the petite filet mignon ($29). This is where things started to go a little south, unfortunately. My entree was perfectly fine (the chicken was very moist and flavorful, but the mashed potatoes definitely needed some more seasoning), but my wife ordered her steak medium rare and it was served to her well done. It took a long time before our server checked on us to see how our food was, which was a little frustrating. The server explained that it may have continued to cook in the pass before she got a chance to pick it up and bring it to us. This was not a super satisfactory explanation for me, but whatever. They offered to remake it for us, and since we still had a little bit of time before our movie started, we agreed. It took a little while for the re-fired steak to arrive, and sure enough, it was very rare this time, not medium rare :) Oh well. My wife decided to eat it and thought it was OK. The jalapeno potatoes served with the steak were tasty, by the way! Definitely better than my mashed potatoes. We also realized that our water had only been refilled once during the whole meal, so we were quite thirsty by the end of things. Our check arrived soon after and of course we were billed twice for the steak :) Luckily the manager swung by pretty quickly afterwards and acknowledged that this was a mistake, and he actually completely removed the steak from the bill, which was a nice gesture. Nice restaurant located right next to the movie theater at Fenton. Fun and tasty items on the menu: there is something for everyone! We tried the Killer grilled shrimp (delicious!) and the wings (very tasty and not too salty, which I feel like is often an issue with brined wings....these were great!). For dinner they had offered a pork chop which was solid and huge, and others in our party ordered the fried chicken and the fried chicken sandwich: all very large portions and seasoned just right. It was the 6 oz petite filet and a beer for my mom, the blackened fish sandwich with sweet potato fries for my husband and the mission style shrimp tacos and a beer for me. For dessert we split a slice of key lime pie. It was all delicious and the portions were a good size for the price. The service was also good. This spot is located in Fenton so it's a great dinner location if you want to catch a movie or stop to some shops before or after. The decor is modern and nice so it could be a good option for a nice group dinner. However, the food was just ok overall. We started with the killer grilled shrimp. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and had a nice, simple grilled flavor. It was paired with what I can only describe as a watermelon pico de gallo but you couldn't really taste it. In summary, great shrimp but the accompaniment could have been more quantity wise or flavor wise. I was excited to experience the uniqueness of a watermelon and shrimp pairing but it fell short for me. The wings were cooked well but didn't have much flavor. They were paired with a chimichurri sauce but the sauce was more oily than flavorful. I got the palm beach steak and asked for medium-well, but it was extremely overcooked. As you can see in the picture it was charred. But, I won't hold that against them because they absolutely made up for it with their customer service. They were accountable and quick to prepare another one. The second one was nicely cooked. Unfortunately the dish still fell short for me. The glaze was supposed to be pineapple, citrus & soy but I didn't taste that. Went on a Saturday night, place was packed. There was an hour wait, I suggest you make reservations. We opted to sit at the bar and it was a good turn around that night so quick seating at the bar. I wouldn't expect that every weekend though. Food was great. Tried the kale dip, was decent. Also had the skirt steak and jalapeño potatoes, steak was cooked properly. This restaurant did not disappoint. We chose to sit at the bar and glad we did, we met some wonderful people. We ordered the Kale Artichoke Dip, Chimichurri Wings and since it was Happy Hour we were able to try the Candied Bacon(soooooo addicting). All of the appetizers were delicious!!! I ordered a Caesar salad, fresh and crispy, I don't normally like croutons but I ate every single one. Because I couldn't decide between two entrees I ordered both lol. The first was the Chimichurri Steak w/ Crispy Jalapeno Potatoes and side salad. It was so flavorful my only critique is that I wish the steak had more Chimichurri but other than that I was happy. The second was the Roasted Chicken w/ mushroom truffle Demi glaze w/ mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. This entree was so good. I also was able to taste the ribs, sweet potatoes chips and Oreo ice cream. No complaints. The service was top notch, we were well taken care of, our glasses stayed full. Something new! Something great! We decided to come here and were seated promptly. They have indoor and outdoor dining. Our waitress was Anna, and she was attentive, polite and took very good care of us. We started with their chips and guacamole. All homemade, and the sweetpotato homemade chips were outstanding. We split the bbq ribs, and cole slaw, and ordered a side of french fries. I can only say that there was excellence happening here. When the general manager came to our table, we talked about the food, the owner and the clientele. The music added to the ambiance, and we were happy. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake. Too big to finish there, so, we took a few things home including this cake. I especially liked the pub height, semi-circle booth we were seated at. Big step up, but such a fun height. The restrooms were immaculate, and burning candles was a nice touch. Make a reservation so you are sure to get your table. We'll be back to try other things. read more

Made reservations for 4:00 on a Saturday and was immediately seated in the sorta lounge area to the right of the front door in a cute little nook by the window. While it looked super cool, it was not comfortable as the little table has a really wide base so there is not a good place to put your feet and the chair side sits low, while the couch side sits high. Just really awkward. The atmosphere is really nice, light, bright and clean, and our server was super sweet. But I have to say that they serve the worst sweet tea I have ever tasted. I told my server that I accidently got unsweet, but she said that is just the way they make it. Replaced it with a lemonade that was more tart than sweet, but was drinkable. They really need to update their tea recipe now that they have a location in the south. I got the Tangled Noodle Bowl, it had good flavor with chunks of fresh mango and avocado. It was served luke warm though. Was it suppose to be a cold or hot dish? I don't know. My husband got the Danish ribs, they had great flavor and were tender, but not really meaty like baby back ribs. He easily downed the rack. Got the cinnamon toast crunch cheesecake for dessert which was oddly dry, perhaps it was the cereal dust on top, but it badly needed some whip cream or something. For our two entrees, two non alcoholic beverages, and one dessert our bill came to $100 with tip. It was a good meal, but for that price, terrible drinks, and uncomfortable seating I don't plan to go back anytime soon. But when we left at 5:00 there was a 2 hour wait for people walking in, so they are not hurting for customers. read more

We were walking around Fenton with the dog when we decided we would give Doc B's a try. Even though our dog is a registered service animal we still like to sit outside as much as we can and Doc B's has a very large patio area. We were seated promptly and our dog got a bowl of water promptly delivered before we could even place our drink order!! I had the pasta with a 1 pound meatball. While it was delicious it was a big underwhelming in flavor through the meat. My spouse had a shrimp dish that she enjoyed. Service was very attentive. Worth visiting again. read more

On Sunday afternoon around 4:30/4:45 PM, my mother and I visited this restaurant and chose to sit at the bar. We are both Black women. After sitting down, a white bartender walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us, greeting us, or offering menus or water. While I briefly stepped away to use the restroom, a white couple arrived and sat directly next to us. The bartender immediately greeted them, placed napkins, silverware, and menus in front of them, and took their drink order -- all while we were still sitting there waiting and had arrived before they did. At that point, it was difficult not to notice the difference in treatment. Eventually, another staff member (a white woman) came over to greet us, but by then the experience already felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, so we decided to leave. I'm sharing this because first impressions matter, and every guest deserves to feel acknowledged and treated equally. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how guests are being greeted and served. Very off-putting and I hope they review the cameras at this time as a training opportunity. read more

Great service, tasty food, wonderful ambiance. This place just opened today and staff members were so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered the dang dang crispy oysters and scarfed them down before I was able to take any pictures. I got the wedge burger and wife got the chicken kebab bowl. They were amazing. I will definitely come back here. read more
