Love love love this place. Food is always on point and it's such a great place to pregame before a Hurricanes game! Pretty sure it's the official pre game spot. Drink selection is awesome and the service is super quick. They have some couches when you walk in and also some outdoor seating. The servers are always friendly and accommodating. It's a fun atmosphere and perfect spot to be with a group! I love the menu and they recently updated it so it has a lot of new gems. One thing I will say is that the pizzas there are delicious! A great spot to visit before events at Carter Finley stadium! I arrived at 3 before a concert, and it was busy, but not overrun. With a party of 6, 2 had to stand at the table, but service was quick given the busy-ness. They were training new staff, so we had three servers during our two hours, which added to a bit of chaos, as the new staff member could not correctly identify the beers she handed to our table. I ordered the poutine with spicy chicken on it, which was delicious. I was also very pleased that the staff did not rush us out of the restaurant, even though it was quite busy. Came here for a late Sunday dinner. They had good reviews, so decided to give them a try. I enjoyed the buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and then had the burger with a side salad. The burger was good. I enjoyed the pretzel bun and the sauce on the burger. I didn't enjoy the salad as they use arugula which is an odd choice for a Caesar salad. It didn't pair well. I tried a wing and did not enjoy the sauce. I had a whiskey sour as my drink and enjoyed it. First time having one of those in a plastic cup, but it did taste good. It is a true sports bar with lots of TVs around. It wasn't loud as their wasn't any games on but lots of hockey fans around. The service was fine. Not a long wait and attentive enough. Our server said the burgers and the Alabama Chicken sandwich. I can get a burger anywhere so I went with the chicken. To be fair it's labeled as spicy. But that has never been a problem for me. Unfortunately this sandwich was inedible. It was so incredibly spicy that you could not taste anything but the spice. My lunch mates seemed to like their burger and Reuban. If you go avoid the Alabama Chicken sandwich. And if you are the owners that are reading this. You may want to get with your cooking staff and re-evaluate this dish. Brus Public House is a solid bar and restaurant with a smaller, more focused menu that does a few things very well. The standout, without question, is the Brus Burger on a pretzel bun. It's excellent, juicy, well-executed, and easily the best thing on the menu. If you're going to Brus, this is the order. That said, after the burger, the menu drops off a bit. The rest of the offerings are fine, but nothing else really competes with how strong the burger is. Because of that, it feels more like a place you go for a specific item rather than to explore the whole menu. It is very convenient since it next to Lenovo Center / Carter Finley Stadium. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a good spot to grab a drink and a reliable meal. Decent food, nothing that really jumps out, but I've always had good experiences here. The service is consistently great and they have a wide drink selection. The restaurant itself is very clean too. I've eaten here and also done takeout a few times. The pasta dishes taste really good but they do come with a lot of oil which isn't always ideal. I also got a to go salad once and it was pretty heavy on the lettuce and light on the chicken, which was a little disappointing. I came here the other night to watch the Canes game and had a good time overall. My waitress was nice and had everything out quickly. I decided to order the spicy shrimp tacos and while they were good, the pineapple absolutely overpowered it to the point where it was hardly spicy at all. For a drink I got a sweet tea which wasn't sweet at all and for dessert I ordered the chocolate torte. The chocolate torte was AMAZING and I would return based on that alone. The server was great - super friendly and very attentive. I wish I remembered her name because she deserves credit and I'd love to request her again. The food filled our bellies but there was nothing to bring us back. The lack of allergy protocols deducted one star from the rating. Best part is the experience was our server. We chose this restaurant because it was within walking distance of the event center where we were attending a concert--super convenient location! The food was really good, and our server was fantastic. He was friendly, fast, and efficient, which we really appreciated since we were on a tight timeline to make it to the show. The only downside was the lack of a host or hostess to seat guests. On a regular Thursday night, that might not be a big deal--but with a concert nearby, the restaurant was packed with other attendees trying to eat quickly. Without someone managing seating, it turned into a bit of a free-for-all. Some guests were skipping the informal "line" and grabbing tables ahead of others who had been waiting, which created frustration and tension. I'd definitely recommend this spot for the great food and service, but I would suggest having someone in place to seat guests during large events at the nearby venue--it would make a big difference in the experience! read more
