Came here recently for some beer and karaoke, and we had a good time! I was happy to see that there was a pretty large, dedicated lot for the brewery, so it was easy to find parking. We started the night off by grabbing a couple of drinks, and they actually just recently starting serving cocktails, which was a big plus for my wife. Of course, they also had a bunch of different beers on draft, which was more my speed. After getting our drinks, we wandered into the next room and were delighted to see a ping pong table waiting for us :) They also had cornhole and a big TV showing the Hurricanes game. There wasn't a huge crowd for the karaoke, but the host was cool and the song selection was pretty large. I was also happy that the karaoke started at an earlier hour (7 PM) than most places. Starting karaoke at 10 PM is kind of brutal when you have kids :) One random aside is that the water fountain near the bathrooms was extremely powerful, so it was honestly a little hard to use. That sounds kind of ridiculous, but it was seriously firing halfway across the room. Overall, we'd definitely come back! read more

Thursday night trivia was so much fun here! My friends and I sat inside but there was outdoor seating too. The music / sound stayed at a decent volume all night and my teammates and I didn't have to shout to hear each other - which I much appreciated. The bartenders were also really nice and patient, and I ended up really liking the cider that I got. It's been a minute since I've been to Raleigh Brewing. I used to visit more when I was in college. Came this time for a friend's birthday. There was already a Galentine's Market going on featuring some stalls from local women-owned businesses. Then at 7 they had karaoke. I think they do it every Saturday evening. Lots of participation. It was fun! I first got a flight because I wanted to sample the sours they had and found my favorite to be the Pineapple Upside Down Passion - if you're into sours, then I recommend a try. Special mention for the strawberry shortcake sour too. We enjoyed our time here. Beer price is about what you'll find at any brewery in Raleigh. read more

Went here as it was a stone throw away from our campground. What a win this place is. It was on the later side but what really made the visit was how awesome our server/bartender was. I really enjoy coming to RBC. The bartenders are exceptional and quite an asset to the company! The vibe at the Raleigh location is generally lowkey and fun--I often wind up bringing friends here when we're in the area and just looking for a good place to hang and chat. We stopped by on a Saturday night for their comedy night. We got there earlier to grab drinks and a bite to eat, which they have since expanded their kitchen. Went after a concert on Father's Day weekend (Sunday) and it was empty so hard to give an in depth review. However it was clean, had a wide variety of beer on their menu and the girl working (forgot her name) was enjoyable to talk to and gave us some insights into local concert venues. We would go back if ever in the area and feel it probably has nights where the crowd is larger. Sundays can be weird days for breweries. Overall beer selection was good as they hit several types and did not lean to heavily on one type. read more

Great place to relax and enjoy a beer. We stopped by on a Saturday. Parking is limiting, but we were able to find a spot. They promote social distancing, face masks are required, hand sanitizer is available, and they have flip cards to indicate clean and dirty tables. After waiting in line we ordered two beers from the friendly bartender. She informed us that we could only taste samples at a table. We decided against the sampling to make things easier and purchased the BBA Toll ($10) and Belltower ($5.50). We enjoyed both. The BBA Toll was incredibly strong and packed with flavor. It seemed pricy, but it's two beers in one. Keep in mind if you open a tab, that you will have to get back in line in order to close it. The line can get long, but moves at a reasonable pace. This brewery is slightly hidden, but it's basically across the street from Meredith College. We dropped in quickly to fill some time before meeting friends for dinner elsewhere. They have expanded their outdoor area to include more covered tables. My boyfriend had the W^2 , a blood orange wheat and I had a peach session IPA. If we had more time I would have liked to try more of their beers. I'd like to go back! read more

We have been here twice and had a great experience each time! We love going to breweries with our little dogs, it's very pet friendly here. You can bring your pup inside, but there are also many tables outdoors. We were greeted warmly on our second visit by a friendly bartender that remembered us. The cost of the beers we ordered was $5 each, so not too bad. We came here for the dog Halloween event, it's nice they had a rescue organization there trying to re-home animals. We met some friendly individuals here who were also toting their furry friend. My only tiny gripe is that I wish they had more flavored fruity Hefeweizens, but that's a personal taste thing. read more

After a quick search, this placed popped up with high reviews. It is a little hidden and since we had never been here before and we got turned around but ultimately found it. Love the ambiance. This was my first time here and I was excited to try some North Carolina brewed beers. I enjoyed decided to build a flight of beers, and I enjoyed them! They come in a pretty unique NC shaped plate, and were easy to carry back to the table. I can't remember them all, but 2 of my favorites were Hell Yes Ma'am, and Raleigh Wood barrel aged ale. Their selection of beers is quite large. We came here to sit outside in the sun because of the big outdoor deck and parking lot space. I've never been a huge fan of Raleigh Brewing's beer, but I do like the events they put on here. We went for the Octoberfest celebration and it was really fun! They had a german band, and several food vendors. Plus they had some new beers, I tried the pumpkin cask beer, but it wasn't very good, literally had no carbonation and very little pumpkin flavor. They do serve kombucha from Fortnight, and so I ordered that because I know I like pretty much everything from Fortnight. One thing to be aware of is when they have events here parking can be tricky. They usually close off their parking lot for event space, and street parking fills up fast, but then again you should probably be taking an Uber to the bar anyway :) read more

Great local brewery to hang out with friends. I visited last week for a retirement party for one of my supervisors. We rented their party room, which was great. The staff were so friendly and helpful when we were breaking down the party and they held doors open when we were taking food out. We do a lot of after work gatherings here because they are so easy to work with and a relaxed atmosphere. I loved the paintings of local institutions (PNC arena and the fairgrounds). This is one of my beer drinking bestie's favorite spots. They have an assortment of beers and ciders to choose from. The inside is a bit cavernous but the outside is very chill, especially for being an oasis in a parking lot. Loved that their was a food truck parked outside for your snacking needs on a Sunday afternoon. I visited Raleigh brewing company for their 6th anniversary celebration. Weather aside, it was a nice event. It did get rather crowded. Since the weather was iffy, alot of people crowded inside. This made it almost impossible to get a beer indoors. They has food trucks and a live band. Beer on tap outside did the trick. One of my four stars is specifically for their Hell Yes Ma'am which is one of my all time favorite beers. It's the only high alcohol content beer that actually tastes good as well. Usually at 9% you lose flavor. I've been one other time and it was a decent experience. It would be nice if the crowd was a bit more diverse in general. Be forewarned this is a very preppy 'state grads who used to be in a fraternity' vibe to the crowd. They are not unpleasant...just very specific. I noticed this both times I visited. Maybe a sprinkling of hipsters can be seen at most. Either way, I love their beer so I'd say they are worth a visit. read more

To beer honest with you, the Raleigh Brewing Company reminds me of Big Boss. Industrial, concrete vibe inside, darts and games along with a slew of decent beers. It might be hard to find Raleigh Brewing, just go behind Beansprout on Hillsborough. I've stopped in here a couple of times and it's a decent spot for a brewski. They usually have 8 - 10 solid varieties on tap along with kombucha and other non-beer drinks. What's cool is that there's also an attached beer equipment store next door along with a refrigerated case of growlers. One final plus is the space they have out in the parking lot which is great for cornhole and food trucks. Raleigh Brewing may not be the equal of Big Boss yet but it's getting there! So next time you need to slake your thirst with some ale, take a quick detour off of Hillsborough to Raleigh Brewing. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised... read more

We have been going here since the place opened. Their beer is consistently good with nice seasonal varieties appearing from time to time. Their Oktoberfest celebration is fun and draws a nice crowd, and their Oktoberfest beer is one of my favorites for that style. I was looking for somewhere to go with my dog on a Thursday evening and Raleigh Brewing Company did not disappoint! Well behaved dogs are welcome inside and out! They also have food trucks pretty much everyday (AND they tell you a month out who will be there when) and that was a huge perk. We were able to grab dinner and some drinks without feeling guilty for leaving the pup at home yet again. It was not crowded when we went, but it was a rainy cold weekday evening so I'm not surprised. They've got an awesome outdoor spaces with plenty of picnic tables so I can see it being very popular in the summer months! I'm not a beer drinker so this review is of the atmosphere, vibe, food truck and overall Bingo night! I went here for a Meetup to play Bingo. I haven't played in a while and thought this was a fun way to spend a Monday afternoon. It was sooo much fun! First of all I didn't know there were so many ways to play Bingo. There were at least 3 different types of games that I never played before. One being Go, go, go and I actually won one! They have lots of space for seating and you can even bring the dogs along for the fun, both inside and outside. They have bull city cider, so that was nice since I haven't gotten into the whole craft beer scene. The food truck they had when I went was Jeffrey's Grill, which had hotdogs and hamburgers and it was pretty good. I went to Raleigh Brewing's 7th anniversary party yesterday, and it was a blast! The place is very spacious, with lots of outdoor space - I can't wait to come back in the summer when the weather is much warmer. I tried three different beers - The First Squeeze (American Wheat Ale), Royal Black Lager and Blatherskite Scottish Ale. All were phenomenal, and the price was even better. I will say I'm not sure if the prices they had during the event are their typical prices because I couldn't believe it myself. An 8 oz glass is only $3 or $4, with a large being a couple bucks more, if that. Like I said, not sure if that was special pricing for the event, but it was awesome. Ok. I don't drink beer. Haven't had one since I found out I was pregnant. That was prior to the turn of the century. But my friend does, and we wandered into the Raleigh Brewery Company at the precise moment a guy named Clay announced the tour would begin in one minute. So we took our plastic cups of Pinot noir and followed the group. The tour was really enlightening. I knew that grains and hops and water and yeast are what goes into making beer, after all I do pay attention to the Anheuser Busch commercials during the Super Bowls, but the science involved in making beer was intriguing. I still don't know what IPA stands for (Clay must have mentioned that when I wandered off to take a pic) but I now have new insight on the beer making process. I saw on the board afterwords that free tours are every Saturday, so if you want to learn about brewing beer, this is a good place to hear all about it! read more

We stopped by early Sunday afternoon before hitting the road back to South Carolina and wanted a change of atmosphere from the Beer Garden. We found this place (thanks to yelp) and were so happy. The environment here is lovely, plenty of outside seating, dogs welcome and great conversation. Although Kelsay and I didn't have any questions the staff seemed more than happy to answer any questions we would've had. The prices for beers aren't an arm and a leg either, so don't feel like you'll leave with empty pockets after 3 beers. Definitely wish we had some extra time to visit again, but definitely will add this to our list of places to return next time we're in Raleigh! read more

Stopped in recently to check out their beers and found a fun spot with lots of dogs. We joined the line to get some beers, but unfortunately found that they had less than 10 boards for flights and all were being used - so we were offered no alternative and needed to purchase full beers of a few we were interested in. What brewery, particularly one as busy as this place seemed, has that few available flights? Crazy! Particularly liked The Toll, which was a fantastic oatmeal stout. Fun spot, but they need to figure out their game a bit based on our visit. read more

After another visit to Raleigh Brewing Company the other night, and another bad experience, I decided it was time to write my (unhappy) review. I have never been one to go out of my way for RBC because I've never been that impressed with their beer. I'm an IPA lover, and the only "IPA" they have regularly in the House of Clay Rye IPA, which doesn't make my tastebuds dance. The positives of Raleigh Brewing Company are the patio (only good in the summer of course), the two arcade games for $.25 (but honestly, now that Level Up and Boxcar are open, it's not that much of a phenomenon) plus several boardgames, and their great rotation of food trucks. Their prices are also decent for the area, anywhere from $2-$6 for a pint and they serve pitchers of everything too. On the downsides: service is a huge one, I'll get back to this. The building is cinderblock inside, so noise just bounces off the walls, making for a noisy atmosphere--which is why the patio is a much better option). I personally don't think the beer is that great, but Raleigh's beer scene in generally is still very much so growing. I think it's on par with Crank Arm, Trophy and Nicklepoint Breweries. I personally prefer hitting up State of Beer or Tasty Beverage (to name two of the MULTITUDE of beer stores we have downtown). Although, what has truly turned me off to Raleigh Brewing Company on each of my visits is the service. Last night I had my eyes glued on the 'beer board' as I meandered my way up to the bar, there were two empty seats, and took one next to a customer who was already sipping a beer. I decided what I wanted and waited a couple minutes. One of the three females behind the bar then walked up to me and said with a "I should've known better tone" that I "had to stand in line". I honestly wasn't sure how to respond or what to say at first because I was so shocked by her attitude. Once I realized that I must've done something wrong, I looked over and saw that indeed there were several people waiting in line for beers. I guess, as a customer, I was wrong to walk up to a bar, where people were already seated with beer, because there was a line of people NOT sitting at the bar waiting to get beers. If that had been the first time I've had crappy service from Raleigh Brewing Company, I might've shrugged it off. But on my previous visit I experienced the same unpleasant attitude AND the female that served me also shortchanged me (we're not living in Southeast Asia my friends, they don't tell you in the Lonely Planets to count your change in the USA, but you have to here!) So after two strikes, I have no desire to return to RBC. Honestly, if I could give some advice, the only semi-pleasant experiences I've had with them has been at festivals, and that's also a hit or a miss. If you have to try their beer, I'd recommend just getting it from one of the beer stores downtown, at least there you're 75% more likely to have a pleasant customer service experience. read more
