Meet some friends at Ponysaurus one night and liked it so much we took family who were visiting from out of town a few weeks later. I've also been to the Durham location, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a very cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Raleigh location has a smaller footprint and doesn't have the same outdoor patio vibe. The dinning area is a bit small but turn around is quick and there is plenty of space to stand and socialize if you're just there for the beer. I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. The Raleigh location menu has lots to choose from, we had a margarita pizza with pepperoni, hummus and wings. I can't recall what was in the hummus but we practically licked the bowl and the wings were a big hit too - note the Durham menu is a bit scaled down but one thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus. There is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park - plenty of WARM pita for everyone. Service was great, we did't wait long and the tables were turned over quickly. They use a mobile app for ordering food which makes ordering fast and efficient and the food is delivered to your table - which I must note came out very fast. read more

Other drinks all come across a bit on the overly sweet side Wings are really good but overpriced And by far their best pizza is the chicken parm but you have to add the burrata mozz which again takes you away from value for money. This Ponysaurus location is nested in the vibrant, but busy, Ironworks area. We went late on a weeknight, so the adjacent parking garage was free of charge. It was my first time visiting, and I overall enjoyed the vibes. There's a nice variety of beer selections on tap. The food options are pretty pizza-heavy, but no complaints there. I had the Export Stout for my drink. I am a coffee stout fanatic, and this one was pretty meh. I wasn't getting a lot of coffee notes from it, and it didn't feel as full-bodied as most stouts I've had. Not horrible, but I wasn't overly enthused. However food-wise, the meatball and ricotta pizza was my jam. I love ricotta anything, and the dough had a great chew to it. We stayed basically right up until closing, and the vibes definitely got less hospitable the closer to closing it got. 10 minutes before closing, we were asked to pour our beers into a plastic cup from our glass cups. I've never had that experience at any brewery before. A bit odd lol - like closing right on time was the priority at all costs over the customer experience. Absolutely recommend this place to dine in!! When you come in it's an open seating environment and even at the bar as well. You will need to scan the QR code to place orders where you are sitting but can also order at the bar as well. The service was very quick! Our food came out hot and fresh and the staff were simply amazing. They asked if we needed anything and were very hands on with cleaning the restaurant as well. I picked Ponysaurus to try because of the location, fun name, and they had food. I was not disappointed! Easy parking in outdoor lots (but it was super hot) or in the covered (free midday on a Thursday) garage. I tried a flight of beer, and was intrigued by the frozen options. Don't let the name fool you! This is an awesome place. There seemed to be a lot of locals possibly from the residences above. A dog friendly outdoor space which is always a plus for dog lovers. They do have a food menu but we just made a quick stop for a beer. The pizzas looked delish. The staff was super nice and they were all super attentive. The bartender really took her time to talk through their beer selection making sure we picked the perfect pint. Man the curly fries were absolutely delicious and the burger was so good! I will say the mayonnaise based lemon aoili was just a little strong to eat with all the fries but I'm sure you can get other condiments. Overall the portions were very generous and we ended up taking home leftovers. Overall the service was great and the people were very friendly. Visited Ponysaurus Brewing and it was packed when we arrived -- and stayed that way all the way until closing, which says a lot about how popular this place is. The space itself is lovely with a great vibe, making it an awesome spot to hang out. They have a solid selection of beers along with a good food menu. I sampled a few beers as part of a flight and really enjoyed them. Standouts for me were the Ponysaurus Off-Dry NC Cider, DBMTP (Don't Be Mean to People: A Golden Rule Saison), and the Mango Guava Wit -- all flavorful and well crafted. For food, we ordered the hot chicken buffalo wings and fried Brussels sprouts, both of which were tasty. The absolute highlight on the food side, though, was the curly fries -- crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly addictive. They also have a wide variety of pizzas on the menu, which are definitely on my list to try next time. Overall, a fantastic brewery with great beer, satisfying food, and an energetic atmosphere. Really good! Came here before going to a concert close by at the Ritz. It was crowded but we were able to get a table upstairs. We ordered drinks at the bar like the instructions said, but they did end up having a server that was working upstairs to help with drink orders. This is our second time here. It's located in RIW (Raleigh Iron Works), with a decent amount of indoor/outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly, wanting to assist you during your visit. The beer selection on tap is pretty extensive, they allow for samples before purchasing a beer (beers on tap only). This was our first time getting food here, we decided on pizza and believe me we were in no way disappointed by our selection. We got the Porchetta Pie... absolute slam dunk! Despite the fact that the place was just about bursting at the seams on a Saturday evening, I was able to order a beer at the bar but I even found a quiet two-top where I could set up my laptop and write a few Yelp reviews. A really great spot for casual pizza and brews! Parties seat themselves and can order food through a QR code on the table and drinks are ordered either through your server or the bar. I think this style of ordering allows you to focus more on the company you bring here with you. The pizzas here can be create your own or created by them. Came on a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed which is fine. You seat yourself and order via a QR code. Waitresses stop by every once in a while to make sure you are okay and bring you food. We ordered the wings and a pizza. Kinda bummed they only have buffalo sauce wings and not a variety of flavors. The cheese pizza wasn't anything to die for; it was very greasy and the cheese came straight off on certain slices leaving me with only bread. Great pizza & beer! This new brewery in Ironworks is hopping, for good reason. We enjoyed tasty scotch ales and shared a couple terrific pizzas on a recent Friday after work. Thankfully we arrived early, cause it got super packed! Our strategy worked for us: Find a place to land and order via a code for the table on your phone, and you can also pay that way as well. Then send someone up to check out the drinks at the bar. They come back and you can send the other one up to order drinks, and you pay for the drinks at the bar. Our two scotch ales were $6 each. They have a nice selection to choose from, plus liquors. Our two pizzas arrived separately and they brought us plates even though there is a station for utensils & other stuff. Pizzas excellent, quality, perfectly executed, full of flavor. Loved them! As we were eating the place got more and more packed. We knew folks wanted our table (they need more tables!), so we were eating and guzzling quickly. They even brought us a box for our leftovers, and grabbed our plates as we were taking last bites LOL. We came in on a Friday afternoon with some Raliegh friends and met up with more, ended up being 9 total. There is seating inside and out to handle a larger group. The heat was getting to us so we moved inside to one of the concrete booths they have there"....mmmm concrete" (Homer Simpson voice inserted). What a fun space! We didn't eat but the food smelled delish-we only grabbed drinks. They do provide plastic cups if you'd like to walk around outdoors, so that's what we did. Cool find while in town. We actually were supposed to go to a place across the street. However, they charged parking (sorry but it's not that serious here) so good news, FREE parking here! It's located in an industrial looking area, mixed with retail, apartments, and restaurants. There's a large open courtyard in the middle of the area. And the brewery is bustling right at the center of it all. Ambiance: 4/5, very urban, casual, and LOUD. If you're going to sit inside you'll probably be screaming to be prepared. But there is outside seating/standing with umbrellas and heaters for colder weather. Note if you're going to order food it's much self seating indoors, order via QR on ToastAb Drinks: 4/5: not the largest menu for beer but definitely one of each category. Got the IPA found it to be very light and just alright for my taste. Nothing too unique or special. But they do have a large bar with many cocktails and slushees, which I thought was great. Food: 3/5: we ordered the pizza, which was alright. It's a very thin styled pizza, crust isn't flavored and but crunchy. For a pizza I found to be pretty pricey, $19 for ours. I would probably eat elsewhere prior next time. I'd come back with friends again. Very fun atmosphere with plenty outdoor space to hang out. Staff was friendly. The food and drinks were good but the 3 female workers that we encountered along the way were the most unfriendly people I have ever seen at a restaurant in a long time. Snippy with stone cold faces at the bar and the table the entire night. Very sarcastic answers to questions we asked about ordering and drinks. I was served an expresso martini when I asked for a salted caramel frozen drink that was on the menu and was told they were the same thing? You immediately start your experience with fighting to find a seat. You have to scan for a menu and pay for food before you receive it! How can you even think of adding tip before service is given!? The drinks and food are separate bills and scan codes, makes the process extremely cumbersome. I would not classify the wait staff waiters, they are food runners. You have to get out of your seat at your table to go to the bar to order drinks. Consider how that shuffle works when sitting in booth style seating. Just get ready for a workout while dining. Even to get a water or a refill of water, everyone out, up to the bar water back to booth, everyone out, sit. The PRICE is crazy expensive for food and beverage. I paid $9 for a non alcoholic 6oz (maybe it was 8oz at best) glass of frozen lemonade. It's frozen sugar water and not much of it. Bourbon averaged 15-18$ for a single. The burger is meh and $18 add bacon and it's $20.... Not good enough to be a $20 burger. The pizza isn't horrible, but it's hard to mess that up. Overall experience left me with looking for other places to go and there are plenty of better spots to go in this area. read more

With locations in Durham and Wilmington, it was great to see this excellent brewery open up closer to my home base. Ponysaurus has a brand new space that's quirky and industrial. Concrete floors, booths, a large bar in back, you order food online (QR code) with ToastTab and order your drinks (beer, cocktails, wine) at the bar separately. Your food is brought out to your location based on the QR code. The menu features pizza, sandwiches, appetizers along with a handful of desserts. Service was solid on my opening day visit, I'm already looking forward to visit #2! read more
