We were here for my bday celebration. We wanted a no wait, and an easy peasy lemon squeezy place for pizza and beer, and that's exactly how ponysaurus at Raleigh turned out to be. It was busy and lively but there was ample of space with help yourself seating. They have an outdoor seating too, with an amazing open area outside with multiple other restaurants and businesses. Food order was through their online menu which was an easy scan of the QR code on the table and drinks menu was taken by one of the server staffs. We ordered beer, coke and juice which were all good. For food we ordered their buffalo wings, garden pizza and hummus and pita. There is not much option for wings flavor but the buffalo wings were good, they were fried not grilled which I don't like much. Hummus was a little too experimental so tasted different from a usual normal hummus, but was good. Pizza was thin crust wood fired with fresh toppings and tasted amazing. This Ponysaurus location is nested in the vibrant, but busy, Ironworks area. We went late on a weeknight, so the adjacent parking garage was free of charge. It was my first time visiting, and I overall enjoyed the vibes. There's a nice variety of beer selections on tap. The food options are pretty pizza-heavy, but no complaints there. I had the Export Stout for my drink. I am a coffee stout fanatic, and this one was pretty meh. I wasn't getting a lot of coffee notes from it, and it didn't feel as full-bodied as most stouts I've had. Not horrible, but I wasn't overly enthused. However food-wise, the meatball and ricotta pizza was my jam. I love ricotta anything, and the dough had a great chew to it. We stayed basically right up until closing, and the vibes definitely got less hospitable the closer to closing it got. 10 minutes before closing, we were asked to pour our beers into a plastic cup from our glass cups. I've never had that experience at any brewery before. A bit odd lol - like closing right on time was the priority at all costs over the customer experience. Absolutely recommend this place to dine in!! When you come in it's an open seating environment and even at the bar as well. Meet some friends at Ponysaurus one night and liked it so much we took family who were visiting from out of town a few weeks later. I've also been to the Durham location, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a very cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Raleigh location has a smaller footprint and doesn't have the same outdoor patio vibe. The dinning area is a bit small but turn around is quick and there is plenty of space to stand and socialize if you're just there for the beer. I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. The Raleigh location menu has lots to choose from, we had a margarita pizza with pepperoni, hummus and wings. I can't recall what was in the hummus but we practically licked the bowl and the wings were a big hit too - note the Durham menu is a bit scaled down but one thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus. There is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park - plenty of WARM pita for everyone. Service was great, we did't wait long and the tables were turned over quickly. They use a mobile app for ordering food which makes ordering fast and efficient and the food is delivered to your table - which I must note came out very fast. read more

Don't let the name fool you! This is an awesome place. There seemed to be a lot of locals possibly from the residences above. A dog friendly outdoor space which is always a plus for dog lovers. They do have a food menu but we just made a quick stop for a beer. The pizzas looked delish. The staff was super nice and they were all super attentive. The bartender really took her time to talk through their beer selection making sure we picked the perfect pint. Visited Ponysaurus Brewing and it was packed when we arrived -- and stayed that way all the way until closing, which says a lot about how popular this place is. The space itself is lovely with a great vibe, making it an awesome spot to hang out. They have a solid selection of beers along with a good food menu. I sampled a few beers as part of a flight and really enjoyed them. Standouts for me were the Ponysaurus Off-Dry NC Cider, DBMTP (Don't Be Mean to People: A Golden Rule Saison), and the Mango Guava Wit -- all flavorful and well crafted. For food, we ordered the hot chicken buffalo wings and fried Brussels sprouts, both of which were tasty. The absolute highlight on the food side, though, was the curly fries -- crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly addictive. They also have a wide variety of pizzas on the menu, which are definitely on my list to try next time. Overall, a fantastic brewery with great beer, satisfying food, and an energetic atmosphere. Pizza is good. They have a weird ordering system where food is separated from beers. So you have to open two tabs for one visit. The parking is also chaotic. The service can be slow but staff is friendly. They are semi dog friendly making you sit outside. I had my dog and was mandated to sit alone with him on the patio. Most breweries I have been to were dog friendly all over. Plus, The point of going to a brewery is to socialize not be isolated. read more

We ordered drinks at the bar like the instructions said, but they did end up having a server that was working upstairs to help with drink orders. Great pizza & beer! This new brewery in Ironworks is hopping, for good reason. We enjoyed tasty scotch ales and shared a couple terrific pizzas on a recent Friday after work. Thankfully we arrived early, cause it got super packed! Our strategy worked for us: Find a place to land and order via a code for the table on your phone, and you can also pay that way as well. Then send someone up to check out the drinks at the bar. They come back and you can send the other one up to order drinks, and you pay for the drinks at the bar. Our two scotch ales were $6 each. They have a nice selection to choose from, plus liquors. Our two pizzas arrived separately and they brought us plates even though there is a station for utensils & other stuff. Pizzas excellent, quality, perfectly executed, full of flavor. Loved them! As we were eating the place got more and more packed. We knew folks wanted our table (they need more tables!), so we were eating and guzzling quickly. They even brought us a box for our leftovers, and grabbed our plates as we were taking last bites LOL. We came in on a Friday afternoon with some Raliegh friends and met up with more, ended up being 9 total. There is seating inside and out to handle a larger group. The heat was getting to us so we moved inside to one of the concrete booths they have there"....mmmm concrete" (Homer Simpson voice inserted). Came on a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed which is fine. You seat yourself and order via a QR code. Waitresses stop by every once in a while to make sure you are okay and bring you food. We ordered the wings and a pizza. Kinda bummed they only have buffalo sauce wings and not a variety of flavors. Got the IPA found it to be very light and just alright for my taste. Nothing too unique or special. But they do have a large bar with many cocktails and slushees, which I thought was great. Food: 3/5: we ordered the pizza, which was alright. It's a very thin styled pizza, crust isn't flavored and but crunchy. For a pizza I found to be pretty pricey, $19 for ours. I would probably eat elsewhere prior next time. I'd come back with friends again. Very fun atmosphere with plenty outdoor space to hang out. Staff was friendly. With locations in Durham and Wilmington, it was great to see this excellent brewery open up closer to my home base. Ponysaurus has a brand new space that's quirky and industrial. Concrete floors, booths, a large bar in back, you order food online (QR code) with ToastTab and order your drinks (beer, cocktails, wine) at the bar separately. Your food is brought out to your location based on the QR code. The menu features pizza, sandwiches, appetizers along with a handful of desserts. Would love to write a review of the delicious food and the wide range of drinks they offered here, but first I had to get the wifi password from a server I was lucky saw me struggle. We got me connected to the Internet and I joked how "wouldn't it be funny if I could talk to *you* about the menu?! I glanced at the menu, and had questions about anything I was thinking of ordering, but finally arrived at one of their pizzas I would try.
