The service was excellent and my smash burger and "hammock fries" were delicious. My wife's salad was just OK (the harvest salad) and she said she would not order that again. Many menu items look really good. We did not like the brussel sprouts appetizer very much as we were expecting brussels sprouts to be more crispy. They were full of pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds and a lot of oil. Probably better for you than the kind we get elsewhere or make at home(!) We ate outside and it was extremely nice and the facility is really cool. There is a play area for kids. They have a very nice beer garden with tables, umbrellas, even hammocks! And multiple bars and dining areas. The beer that I had, the peach wheat beer, was delicious and quite different. I wish they'd make a good Belgian-style wheat beer or a Triple. Crooked Hammock in Raleigh is a fun spot with a beautiful, thoughtfully designed space perfect to meet up with friends and bring your children or dogs. The staff were friendly and welcoming, although service can be a little slow at times. Even if you're not a beer drinker like me, there's still something worth trying. I had a cocktail made with their housemade seltzer energy drink, it was tasty. The crab drip was delicious with the pretzel bites. I would get it again if I go back. My partner liked the IPA and thought it was good, he might leave a review too. Definitely take a minute to visit the bathrooms, the design is surprisingly worth checking out. They also have a gift shop. For a second location it is great.  Overall, a cool place to stop in for the atmosphere, friendly service, and creative drinks. Well well well ... what have I found here? A beach-like, park-like atmosphere with amazing food! Let's jump in. Parking is a plenty if you use the retail parking lot across the street. PLENTY of room inside to spread out. Wrap around bar made it easy for me to pull up a chair. The brewery (where the magic happens) is behind glass windows, which the bar is centered around. My server was very attentive and top of her game. She was tipped very generously for her prompt service. So, one thing I can agree on: the beer options are lacking in terms of variety. No stouts, Hefeweizen, or porters. They have a wheat ale that I should've tried so I guess I can't say they lack something similar to a Blue Moon. However, the beers I had were perfect. The coconut golden ale surprisingly had a coconut kick. I loved their amber ale! The imperial also did me in, so I thankfully saved the light lager for last (which was very easy drinking). The flight comes in four, fyi. The main show stealer were the Pineapple Express wings. 8 HUGE wings with a pineapple breading and sauced jalapeños, along with extra sauce. My Lord, those were some tasty wings and done just perfectly. I could not believe the sweet heat coming from them. That's a reason to come back here! Now I understand why the cost is more for them ... they are huge! The scratch corn muffins with the honey butter were also insanely amazing! I could not finish my meal. I had 3 wings and 3 muffin slices left over. Suggestion: please melt the honey butter a little more before serving. That, and adding more variety of beer, are my only two suggestions and not enough to knock it down a star. Take note: you'll likely see a bunch of kids running around due to the setup outside. It is a very kid friendly place, which could be a plus or minus depending on who you ask. Folks, check them out, if you haven't! I was visiting from out of town for work and came here on a weekday during lunch time. The brewery is spacious and the staff were very friendly. I had the Myrtle Peach wheat ale which was refreshing and not too tart. The hammock light lager was good too, but just tastes like any other lager. What was most impressive was the food. I got the street corn fries which were even tastier that it sounded. It was pleasantly tart/sour from the pickles and had a good amount of toppings and fries. The ratio and flavor was perfect. Extremely disappointing experience. My wife and I ordered the Pineapple Express Wings, Nachos, and Fries. The Wings were the WORST WINGS I've ever had. The breading tasted like it was from Cookout and slid right off the wing. I was promised Coconut, Pineapple, and Jalapeno flavors, but the mediocre wings were just covered in sweet and sour sauce. The Nachos had no flavor and barely any toppings other than a giant glob of sour cream. The Fries were "Hammock Fries," which meant they took out all the potato and just left you with the stale skin! We were excited to try some of the beer they brew in-house, but after a few samples, we stuck with water. Their sour beer tasted wrong, and their coconut ale had no flavor. The server was nice, but the restaurant was way too loud, and we could barely hear her. We thought this place had potential with its location, in-house brewed beer, and cool vibes, but this place is unfortunately not worth anyone's time or money. read more

This brewery/restaurant is literally across the street from my new office, so a group of us went out to dinner at the end of a long day. It's a very wide-open and family-friendly space, and they have tons of food options. We ordered various apps, and I opted for the Garden Grill (grilled grouper with mashed cauliflower). Not worth it. First, we were told 2 minutes for a table. After 15, I asked and they said the tables they were cleaning were taken. By who? We were next in line. Then they said another 15min. 35 minutes LATER I had to interrupt the 3 teenage girls chatting at the front desk and ask again AND point out there were multiple tables that could be cleaned so we could be seated. We were finally able to be seated. Our waiter was fantastic, but the fish tacos, Mac-n-cheese and burger we ordered all had no flavor and the taco shells were dried out. The food was really good (we went with fish tacos and the smashburger), and the service was also very good. Lots of beer choices, with the Backyard Legend being a favorite. They have an amazing play area for the little ones, but we didn't get to experience it....it absolutely poured rain right as we were getting ready to leave. I think the big selling point is their massive outside space, which is definitely a plus for kids. Our food wasn't bad but it wasn't something I'm dying to get again. My wife and I decided to give Crooked Hammock another try since our first visit when they first opened. We had wings, street corn fries, and key lime pie. Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar where the service as top notch. The person there (I forgot her name) was very personable and gave great recommendations. She recommended the chili Alabama white sauce for the wings, which turned out to be delicious. There were two things I was disappointed with during my visit. The first was that the beer selection was lacking comparing to when the Crooked Hammock first opened. I'm not looking for a huge selection, but a varied one is appreciated. All that is offered are light beers and a sour. The second thing that was disappointing and irritating was the 3% fee charged for using a credit card to pay. This is the first chain restaurant that has charged such a fee. The worst part is, it's not properly disclosed. When I was presented the handheld for payment, the fee was not included. It wasn't until I typed in a tip and tapped my card to pay that the 3% was added. I didn't see a mention of a fee on the menu and the person working the bar didn't tell me. I suspect that few people pay cash at this sort of establishment, so charging a 3% fee on top of the already high prices is a bit of a slap in the face. read more

Went here to meet friends for brunch as we both have toddlers. What a cool place to bring the fam. The outdoor area us huge and plenty of things for the kiddos to do and keep busy (the only complaint I have is the space is not completely fenced in so you have to keep eyes on the littles as they can get out and go in the road). Wow! Such a great place. Our waitress Alyssa was awesome. She provided excellent customer service, communicated well, and was very cordial. I absolutely love the decor of the restaurant, the bathrooms, and the outside area. The service was fast, the food was hot, and delicious. We had a two hour lunch break from a meeting we attended in the building across the street. We received everything ordered in a timely fashion. I've popped into crooked hammock on their opening day! I took advantage of the calm, light crowd conditions to take some pictures and talk to staff. I had just visited the myrtle beach location yesterday and the menus and beer selections are similar. The beer list boast five styles of beer and several seltzers. Flights, small tastes and twenty ounce versions are available. Flights andgrowler fills are available now. Crowlers are pending. There are restaurant seating areas everywhere, including a traditional bar. The outdoor play area has a potential for the day care population (unsupervised). There are plenty of options for your events as well. Their sales full time sales staff can help you plan. Lots of bar food is offered on the menu, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. I tried the wings and was nodding in satisfaction: not over cooked, crispy on outside (I get dry rub with sauce on the side) and moist inside, they were served warms and fresh. This location of the chain offers pizza. Friendly servers will take orders and deliver your meal to the patio/play area. Which has gat pits, hammocks, cornhole and board games. With staff dwindling in the area, it was nice to see ample staff in all capacities. With the abundant advertising and the solid crowd appearing on the grand opening - they are going to need it! Raleigh has experienced more than a few breweries close recently, so Thank you Crooked Hammock for settling in our area. read more

The facility is well designed and thought out. There's something for everyone of all ages here. The service was good a little slow but they were also extremely busy. The food was good however it's expensive. $21 for a salad to me is ridiculous for a bar/brewery/restaurant. The wings were $17 for 8 wings; $25 for 12. That's just highway robbery. The exterior is where this place shines, hammocks everywhere, ping pong, a playground, the whole 9! The one limitation is parking and it seems this place will stay packed due to beer and free play for kids. It's a parents dream. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here. They have a small free parking lot, and there is another free parking garage across the street. Visited on a Friday evening around 530 and it was packed. It was about a 45 minute wait for a table, but they put your name on a text list and you can see how many parties in front of you. Ended up being closer to 30 minutes. We were able to order a drink at their walk up bar, they brew a lot in-house and the hammock light was great. The space itself is massive with indoor seating, indoor bar, and outdoor seating. Outside there is a jungle gym for kids, as well as a ping pong table and corn hole boards. At the time we visited, if you joined their app you got a free boardwalk fry appetizer so we did that. We also ordered 12 buffalo wings, pepperoni pizza, and a side of Mac. The server did let us know that the pizza is made completely separate so sometimes they come out at different times. The pizza ended up coming out about 5 minutes before the rest. The pizza was surprisingly delicious and I enjoyed the wings as well! Overall, would definitely return. read more

The wait for a table wasn't bad. But we had to wait 20 minutes for someone to say hello. And another table said you have to go to bar. I'm like and we supposed to guess this. A server came and then disappeared for 40 minutes. Bartender took over and they were great. Food was not good. Fries were fine. French onion dip maybe someone likes it but no one at our table did. Wings were undercooked. Almost raw inside. But we never had a waitress to say anything to. The cheeseburger was void of cheese. Kids tendies were just ok. The mac and cheese. Some friends invited us to join us at the new taproom headquartered in Delaware. As we drove up, I noticed that the building looked like a Calabash seafood restaurant. We tried several beers and liked all of them. My favorites were the Myrtle Peach and the Sway (Hazy IPA). On a Saturday afternoon, this place was packed! It was hard to know where to order drinks. There wasn't a lot of shade to be found outside, but I enjoyed the hammocks, ping pong table, and cornhole on the turf. We didn't eat anything, but the menu looked interesting. Chicken wings were like pencil easers and do not recommend. Ate one of eight and the sever didn't notice or ask if there was an issue. Pizza was average and ordered extra pepperoni and if what we received was extra normal must come with 10 pieces of pepperoni. Fries and pretzel were very good. If going for apps and beer think it would be good. Really dislike that the server stood over me and held on to the payment machine while I was paying the bill. First visit and impression was mixed. Were seated very quickly inside but it's very noisy and difficult to talk without yelling. Sound absorption would be something to improve. Food was good but expensive, 8 wings $18 and nachos with pork $26 portion was large but still a lot of money. Beer prices comparable to establishments in downtown. Good place for families with children under the age of 5, nice playground to keep them occupied. Not happy with the surcharge for credit card, didn't know until we got the final copy of our bill via text. Our server Cam very attentive and always there when we needed him, thank you.
