Wow! Such a great place. Our waitress Alyssa was awesome. She provided excellent customer service, communicated well, and was very cordial. I absolutely love the decor of the restaurant, the bathrooms, and the outside area. The service was fast, the food was hot, and delicious. We had a two hour lunch break from a meeting we attended in the building across the street. We received everything ordered in a timely fashion. My wife and I decided to give Crooked Hammock another try since our first visit when they first opened. We had wings, street corn fries, and key lime pie. Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar where the service as top notch. The person there (I forgot her name) was very personable and gave great recommendations. She recommended the chili Alabama white sauce for the wings, which turned out to be delicious. There were two things I was disappointed with during my visit. The first was that the beer selection was lacking comparing to when the Crooked Hammock first opened. I'm not looking for a huge selection, but a varied one is appreciated. All that is offered are light beers and a sour. The second thing that was disappointing and irritating was the 3% fee charged for using a credit card to pay. This is the first chain restaurant that has charged such a fee. The worst part is, it's not properly disclosed. When I was presented the handheld for payment, the fee was not included. It wasn't until I typed in a tip and tapped my card to pay that the 3% was added. I didn't see a mention of a fee on the menu and the person working the bar didn't tell me. I suspect that few people pay cash at this sort of establishment, so charging a 3% fee on top of the already high prices is a bit of a slap in the face. read more

Visited on Sunday, May 3rd, at 3:34 PM. Unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The service requires significant improvement. Our server was unable to answer basic questions regarding the food or beer menus. Furthermore, when a different staff member delivered the two beer samples I requested, they could not identify which was which. Neither sample was the beer I had actually ordered. The food quality was also poor. The ​Pineapple Express wings were over-breaded, burnt on the outside, and doughy on the inside, suggesting the fryer temperature may be too high. The sauce was not as presented on the menu it was Thai Chili Sauce. Additionally, the fries provided through the app were cold, grease-soaked, and inedible, and we found the accompanying French onion dip to be very unappealing and frankly probably the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. While the space itself is well-designed, the quality of the food and service did not match the environment. A terribly disappointing dining experiences. Two small beers, a dozen wings, and free fries, over $50, this seems a little pricey. I hope you find this feedback constructive for future improvements. read more

I was visiting from out of town for work and came here on a weekday during lunch time. The brewery is spacious and the staff were very friendly. I had the Myrtle Peach wheat ale which was refreshing and not too tart. The hammock light lager was good too, but just tastes like any other lager. What was most impressive was the food. I got the street corn fries which were even tastier that it sounded. It was pleasantly tart/sour from the pickles and had a good amount of toppings and fries. The ratio and flavor was perfect. This brewery/restaurant is literally across the street from my new office, so a group of us went out to dinner at the end of a long day. It's a very wide-open and family-friendly space, and they have tons of food options. We ordered various apps, and I opted for the Garden Grill (grilled grouper with mashed cauliflower). Went here to meet friends for brunch as we both have toddlers. What a cool place to bring the fam. The outdoor area us huge and plenty of things for the kiddos to do and keep busy (the only complaint I have is the space is not completely fenced in so you have to keep eyes on the littles as they can get out and go in the road). We ordered a ton of food and all of it was delicious. The donuts, the french toast, the egg bowl and fried potatoes were all amazing. Highly recommend! Great service as well. read more

Everything about my experience was just decent. Seems to be consistently crowded so make a reservation if you can. I think the big selling point is their massive outside space, which is definitely a plus for kids. Our food wasn't bad but it wasn't something I'm dying to get again. I've popped into crooked hammock on their opening day! I took advantage of the calm, light crowd conditions to take some pictures and talk to staff. I had just visited the myrtle beach location yesterday and the menus and beer selections are similar. The beer list boast five styles of beer and several seltzers. Flights, small tastes and twenty ounce versions are available. Flights andgrowler fills are available now. Crowlers are pending. There are restaurant seating areas everywhere, including a traditional bar. The outdoor play area has a potential for the day care population (unsupervised). There are plenty of options for your events as well. Their sales full time sales staff can help you plan. Lots of bar food is offered on the menu, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. I tried the wings and was nodding in satisfaction: not over cooked, crispy on outside (I get dry rub with sauce on the side) and moist inside, they were served warms and fresh. This location of the chain offers pizza. Friendly servers will take orders and deliver your meal to the patio/play area. Which has gat pits, hammocks, cornhole and board games. With staff dwindling in the area, it was nice to see ample staff in all capacities. With the abundant advertising and the solid crowd appearing on the grand opening - they are going to need it! The facility is well designed and thought out. There's something for everyone of all ages here. The service was good a little slow but they were also extremely busy. The food was good however it's expensive. $21 for a salad to me is ridiculous for a bar/brewery/restaurant. The wings were $17 for 8 wings; $25 for 12. That's just highway robbery. The exterior is where this place shines, hammocks everywhere, ping pong, a playground, the whole 9! I really enjoyed my experience here. They have a small free parking lot, and there is another free parking garage across the street. Visited on a Friday evening around 530 and it was packed. It was about a 45 minute wait for a table, but they put your name on a text list and you can see how many parties in front of you. Ended up being closer to 30 minutes. We were able to order a drink at their walk up bar, they brew a lot in-house and the hammock light was great. The space itself is massive with indoor seating, indoor bar, and outdoor seating. Outside there is a jungle gym for kids, as well as a ping pong table and corn hole boards. At the time we visited, if you joined their app you got a free boardwalk fry appetizer so we did that. We also ordered 12 buffalo wings, pepperoni pizza, and a side of Mac. The server did let us know that the pizza is made completely separate so sometimes they come out at different times. The pizza ended up coming out about 5 minutes before the rest. The pizza was surprisingly delicious and I enjoyed the wings as well! Overall, would definitely return. read more

First visit and impression was mixed. Were seated very quickly inside but it's very noisy and difficult to talk without yelling. Sound absorption would be something to improve. Food was good but expensive, 8 wings $18 and nachos with pork $26 portion was large but still a lot of money. Beer prices comparable to establishments in downtown. Good place for families with children under the age of 5, nice playground to keep them occupied. Not happy with the surcharge for credit card, didn't know until we got the final copy of our bill via text. Our server Cam very attentive and always there when we needed him, thank you. A server came and then disappeared for 40 minutes. Bartender took over and they were great. Food was not good. Fries were fine. French onion dip maybe someone likes it but no one at our table did. Wings were undercooked. Almost raw inside. But we never had a waitress to say anything to. The cheeseburger was void of cheese. Kids tendies were just ok. The mac and cheese. Some friends invited us to join us at the new taproom headquartered in Delaware. As we drove up, I noticed that the building looked like a Calabash seafood restaurant. We tried several beers and liked all of them. My favorites were the Myrtle Peach and the Sway (Hazy IPA). On a Saturday afternoon, this place was packed! It was hard to know where to order drinks. There wasn't a lot of shade to be found outside, but I enjoyed the hammocks, ping pong table, and cornhole on the turf. We didn't eat anything, but the menu looked interesting. This place was amazing! I happened to see this place on my way to get bagels (first time out here) and I wish we took more photos to share! This is the PERFECT spot for a family with young kids OR without young kids. My husband looked at me and said "is it weird that I want to live here now?" They have created a wonderful atmosphere and you can tell there was so much intention with every detail. We are already talking about our next visit and who we have to tell about this place! Our serve was Noelle and she was lovely! She was kind and attentive! Overall this place was a 15/10 and and we are so happy to whoever brought this to Raleigh! This place definitely has potential but there's a few things that need to be worked on. So the parking is pretty Limited directly in front of it. There are parking decks around if you choose to do that. When you walk in it has a nice decor and looks very inviting. There was a lot of people at each of the tables and multiple different rooms. There's a bar on the inside that was completely filled up and looking outside, which I would think is the main goal to be there and relax Outdoors or on a hammock of some sort, it looked like a full grown playground and Kids Daycare. There were kids running around everywhere jumping on chairs and hammocks and parents drinking and once in awhile going after their kids but mainly just talking to the other adults while their kids ran around like it was a carnival. We decided to get a drink and food inside and while one of us were doing that the other was looking for an open area outside but of course there was none because kids were climbing all over them. Would be nice if paying patrons could actually enjoy those areas but it looks like the parents drinking didn't really care about other paying customers and all they care about was having their kids not bothering them for a minute. There were dogs behaving well and leashed up. On the inside upon ordering at the bar it took about a good 10.monites to even be aknowledged and then another 15 to 20 minutes before being attended to when pretty much everyone had their drinks already that were sitting there. The wait was shockingly long for not being that piled up with customers. There was nowhere at the bar area so we went inside out a table after one of us had gone to the hostess stand, and apparently the host is said to sit wherever but then when we were at the table we were asked if we were sad and we had told them no the hostess said it's fine to sit wherever. After that all got sorted out we proceeded to order some food and drinks. Everything was decent, not out of this world amazing, but that's not what we were coming for. We were coming for the atmosphere and unfortunately we didn't get to experience that. If you have a kid probably bring them here cuz they'll probably meet lots of little friends and they can run around freely but if you're an adult looking to have a relaxing time or somewhere to sit, especially if it's outdoors... I would suggest to go elsewhere. I do think it has potential but I think they're overlooking some major important factors of who they are catering to. read more

My family and I finally visited this restaurant on Father's Day after wanting to try it for quite some time. We expected it to be busy, so we were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere was great, and although we were seated outside in direct sunlight with no shade available, it was manageable and not a major issue. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (the nachos), and both were excellent. However, we were not provided with napkins or silverware. Our server mentioned upfront that it was only her third day, so we were understanding and simply asked a few times for napkins. Unfortunately, the experience began to decline once we ordered our entrées. I ordered a pizza, my wife and daughter each ordered salads, and my two sons ordered burgers. My pizza arrived first, which seemed a bit unusual given that the salads had not yet been served, but I didn't think much of it at the time. We then waited another 10-15 minutes for the rest of the food. When a food runner finally arrived with the remaining meals, she placed the tray on the edge of a nearby table, leaving part of it hanging off. Instead of removing the plate that was closest to the edge, she picked up my daughter's salad from the back of the tray, which had been helping stabilize it. The tray immediately fell to the floor, sending the remaining meals crashing down. To her credit, she was extremely apologetic, and we understood that accidents happen. She was able to salvage my daughter's salad, and both our server and the manager quickly came over to apologize. The manager assured us the kitchen was remaking the dropped meals right away. Unfortunately, it took approximately 20 more minutes for the replacement food to arrive. By that point, the meal had been significantly delayed, but everyone enjoyed their food once it arrived. We agreed that the food quality was strong enough that we would likely give the restaurant another chance, especially considering our server was new and the dropped food was clearly an accident. What ultimately left us disappointed was how the situation was handled afterward. When it was time to pay, our server brought over a handheld payment device that displayed only the total amount due, without an itemized bill. My wife asked whether anything had been removed from the check given the circumstances, but there was no way to tell from the screen provided. After paying, I requested a text receipt and reviewed it once we were back in the car. To my surprise, nothing had been discounted or comped--not the appetizer, drinks, or any portion of the meal. Perhaps expectations have changed, but in my experience, it has generally been standard practice for restaurants to offer some gesture of goodwill when a significant service issue occurs, even when the staff is apologetic and the mistake is unintentional. While the food itself was very good and the staff seemed genuinely remorseful, the lack of any acknowledgment beyond an apology left us feeling undervalued as customers. As a result, what started as a promising dining experience ended on a disappointing note, and it has made us hesitant to return despite enjoying the food. read more

The grilled chicken was so tough, dry and burnt. Then when we ordered second drinks, they were never brought. Our bill was $91 (with tip) and so not worth it. Unfortunately, our family had a very disappointing and embarrassing experience here. When we first arrived, the bartender politely informed us that our children could not sit at the bar because they were under 21. We immediately complied, and our children moved to the outside area. The bartender then explained that walk-up service required getting in line, and we followed those instructions as well. While waiting, my husband remained seated at the bar. We observed the bartender alternating between helping customers in the walk-up line and customers seated at the bar. After an older couple sat down next to my husband and were served almost immediately, my husband calmly pointed out that we had been skipped. At no point did we raise our voices, threaten anyone, or behave aggressively. However, shortly afterward, the bartender became visibly upset and walked away. We were then abruptly told that we would not be served and were escorted off the property in front of our children and other customers without being given any opportunity to explain ourselves. What was most concerning was that simply and respectfully pointing out that we had been skipped appeared to result in our removal. We still do not understand what policy we violated by calmly raising a service concern. In our opinion, the situation seemed to escalate unnecessarily and may have been influenced by stress, understaffing, or lack of training in handling customer concerns. We understand restaurants can be busy and stressful, but the way this situation was handled was humiliating and completely disproportionate to the interaction that occurred. We hope management reviews the incident carefully and improves how customer concerns are handled in the future. read more

Upon sitting down we were told our server was new. I understand, I get it. the problem is that there was a multitude of errors she made, and clearly needed more training or to shadow someone. - Messed up our beer flight, served the wrong drinks to us - Food order was uncorrect. Gave us a house Salad instead of a caesar. Ordered a sprite twice for my child and never received. Food took about 30 minutes to come out just to receive undercooked chicken. - Server had to leave multiple times to ask someone for help with the POS system, or to answer a question on the menu. - Table was extremely small. For a party of 4, the table could barely accommodate two appetizers with drinks.
