Came for the darts, coming back for everything. Great bar with lots of seating and really good music. It's just a fun place to hang out. They give you a massive amount of fries and the prices are fair for how much food you get. The burger was really good and the drink specials were awesome. There are only two dart boards so it can get a little crowded, but the service was great the whole time. They also have other games around the bar which is nice. Came here on a Sunday evening. Walked in at 5:15 pm to a pretty good crowd. Certainly great environment, dart boards, great size bar and loads of TVs. Took a while for our waitress to come to the table - we ordered our food immediately. Our nachos came out quick and were delicious but then we waited almost an hour and a half to finally get the rest our food. Our original waitress left and never returned, once our food came out it was cold and our top bun was so hard we couldn't cut through it . We asked for the check as soon as our food came but still waited and ended up walking to the bar. The waitress that took over was solo and obviously stressed. Definitely understaffed on this busy Sunday. Food was okay bar food, don't know that we'd seek this place out in the future. read more

I received a birthday coupon for a free appetizer and since I'd never eaten here before I thought I'd give it a try. Nachos are a favorite that I can make a meal out of so thought that would be the perfect thing for me, and it was! The waitress was great and the owner's wife was super welcoming. There's 14 tv's if you're there to watch sports you're sure to find your game. Plus the black ceiling has tiny lights in it that look like stars. The waitress said during football season they can change colors to match a team's colors. Cute! Back to the nachos. I don't know how they chopped the tomatoes so tiny for the pico, but they did to a point that they're cute! Rather than melting shredded cheese on the nachos they use a white sauce, which is different. The pickled jalapeños were delicious. You have your choice of either chipotle chicken (also chopped very tiny) or beans. I got the chicken, which was just ok. I'd try the beans next time. It also comes with a cup of sour cream. I've been to Parkway a couple times, I've never really been all that impressed despite other people telling me how good their food is. Maybe I'm ordering the wrong menu items but both times I got the burger. There's just something about the burger that I don't like. It's juicy and cooked properly, but it just has a very odd flavor to it with an off-putting aftertaste, I don't know if they put fish sauce in the meat or what, but I won't order a burger there again. This last time I ordered the fried potato salad as a side and went whole hog and ordered the mac and cheese appetizer. The mac and cheese was amazing but when it came out I assumed that they had just given me a side dish portion because it certainly did not appear to be worth anywhere near the $9 that they're asking for it, but indeed that's what it was! The so-called fried potato salad is odd, it's like fried breakfast potatoes with some kind of pimento cheese topping on it. It's not terrible, but I certainly wouldn't want to eat it again. I would say 5 stars, but it's a new business, and still finding its sea legs. That being said, I haven't been to a new business in recent times that I didn't regret. I have to admit that I generally don't even review new businesses, because it is generally not fair, as it takes time to get into their funky flow. This place was different, however, although new, they truly cared about the place. The owner, Brian, was so excited and eager to please everyone, it was infectious! We only tried a few items, and had a couple drinks,, but the menu was designed by a veteran chef, Bruce, and has pretty much all you need for a new restaurant. We had the frickles (hot and delicious, but I prefer horseradish sauce), pint of honey siracha bacon, omg, and a French dip. Although the meat on the French dip was more well done than I prefer, you wouldn't notice. Honestly the best French dip that I have had in recent memory. The bread was soft and delicious, and the horse radish sauce on it with the au jus was perfect. Fries were great too! Couldn't stop eating then, darn it. We came here on a weekday for lunch and we're greeted by friendly staff. Restaurant was clean. Server was friendly and helpful. The Santa Fe wrap came out hot. I loved that the wrap was thin and crispy. It was loaded with chicken, cheese, beans and corn. The chili line vinaigrette gave it a lot of flavor. Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Once you hit the front door, you'll think you're on an episode of bar rescue and Jon Taffer is going to step out at any moment screaming. However, the food was decent. Nachos were basic, but the chicken was very good on them. The wraps surprised us and were above average. Fresh cut fries and the burger was also decent. Parkway Tavern surprised me! I chose it because i wanted a quick restaurant near Bond Park. When I walked in, I was a bit worried about whether the food would be good, because well, the ambience is "very simple sports bar." Well, the food wasn't good, it was FABULOUS! I had a bacon blue cheeseburger (keto style, so no bun) and it was thick and juicy and cooked to perfection. It was better than the ones I make at home! And because i can't eat fries, I substituted a side salad with blue cheese dressing, that I didn't expect to eat because I didn't expect it to be good. Wrong again! The side salad was served in a deep bowl with a wealth of salad fixins' including croutons that looked wonderful though I couldn't eat them. The blue cheese dressing was thick and delicious. OMG, don't let the atmosphere fool you. The food here is GREAT! The wait staff was attentive and friendly. And they had a great beer tap, that I'll definitely try next time. A winner! read more

By far, this pub has the best food of any we have been to in Cary. They have a good selection of draft beers as well as canned or bottled brews. The two things that really stand out are the services and cook. We go here at least once a week. We know many staff by name and they often know us too. I highly recommend the burgers, parkway chicken sandwich, steak sandwich, chicken strips, and quesadillas. They have lots of TVs to watch sports. Ordered a Caesar salad. It came out with 2 small cups of dressings on the side not mixed in. I ordered 2 more dressings because the two provided was not enough. I was charged $1 for the additional dressings. I did not ask for the dressings to be on the side. While mixing in the dressing all of the coating on the chicken tenders came off. I visited Parkway Tavern for the first time with two of my friends. We're always on the lookout to try new places, and Parkway's menu looked interesting to us. Overall our experience was really good. The tavern is clean and has a cool atmosphere with "stars" in the ceiling tiles. They made a solid Old Fashioned with Bulleit which is my top priority when picking places to hang out. We ordered the fried jalapeños and the cheese curds for appetizers, and both were really good. I followed that with a Chimichurri Steak sandwich made as a wrap upon request. My side was the pesto pasta salad. Both were good choices both in taste and how they filled me up. The steak wrap was a bit heavy on salt but I would certainly order it again. We'll be back at Parkway soon, I'm sure, and it very well could develop into a regular spot for us! read more

We came here on a late night business trip. We arrived late at this was e only place around that was open. Our Server was great. The food took a while to arrive but was pretty good. We had the Buffalo chicken sandwich, and a buffalo wrap. The fries were old but it was 11:30 at night. Wednesday was karaoke night. There were only a couple people singing and it was pretty loud. This place never disappoints! Everything we have tried from burgers, tenders, wings, salads and numerous appetizers and sides have been fantastic. The overall winner and stand out is definitely the fried potato salad which I've yet to ever see at any other restaurant. The service is top notch and they are always checking in. We haven't had any cocktails yet but they always look fantastic. Minor downsides, and this is very minor. Sometimes depending on the night it can get very loud and also the cloud of smoke outside is never fun but not enough to stop us from coming. The burgers all overdone, fries cooked to within an inch of being carbon and onion rings that crumble due to being overcooked. What's there answer, comping the appetizer and charge $50 for the three burgers. A normal establishment would have competed at least park of the main meal if not all of it. My wife and I came for dinner this evening on 01/07 about 6:45PM and took a table seat. There were two bartenders and no table waitresses so we had to rely on bar tenders for service who would leave bar periodically. We waited patiently for about 15 minutes at table- no service, no eye contact, no acknowledgement as customer whatsoever. We saw a couple come in and be seated on other side who was immediately greeted and served. At that time, we were done and committed to just leave. I gave this place a three it doesn't serve coffee and if you want ice tea, they only have sweet tea. I asked the owner why and he said he did not know that anyone drank unsweetened ice tea. Duh! I asked another time andI was told they get it in big jugs and the company they get it from does not have unsweetened ice tea Double duh!! The Ruben sandwich is very good.
