Found this place close to our air bnb. It had good reviews so we gave it a shot to watch the basketball game. It was a seat yourself situation and there were only two waitresses that also doubled as bartenders. The servers were nice but the place was understaffed. I waited an hour for my chicken sandwich. The rest of my table had finished their meal by the time I told them to cancel mine to which they said it was almost ready. Food was decent. But wouldn't go back unfortunately. read more

Came here on a recommendation for their wings. It also happen to be half off wing night. This was my 1st time so I asked the bartender for recommendations. I asked how many wings come with the wing basket. She told me 10 and that I could split the order in 1/2 for sauces which was great! I got half sauced in buffalo (breaded) and the other half with Thai Chili. When the food came out I noticed a small handful of wings. I counted 7. I called the bartender over and mentioned that I only got 7 out of the 10 she told me. She seemed confused about the whole thing but said that they probably didn't give the the full order of 10 due to being wing night. That seems odd, it almost like bait and switch. The bartenders (one of which seemed to be the owner and her brother) were incredibly friendly, but had no idea what they were doing. I knew by the atmosphere it was probably a mistake when I ordered it, but I got a gin martini, the third option down on their cocktail menu. The place was empty and it took 10 minutes before I was delivered a martini made with sweet vermouth. They had no idea that was unusual and explained that was the only vermouth their distributor had. I lowered my expectations and ordered a gin and tonic. I was served a tall glass with light ice...he had to open a second can of tonic to fill it. I understand not being a cocktail bar (so don't put specialty cocktails on your menu), but you have to be able to make a dive bar drink at least. The pizza was nothing to write home about but it was thin, crispy, and fresh and hit the spot. Get some basic bartending training and I would be back often. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon during the NFL playoffs. Cozy little spot with a nice bar seating area to grab a beer and food while watching the game. The beer selection was spot on - sampling a broad array of genres - with highly rated representatives for each class of beer. We had some great hazy IPAs and stouts. I appreciated that the menu clearly defined vegan and vegetarian options and the bartender clearly understood the difference between the two. She was very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our "snack" selections - particularly the vegan spicy tofu poutine. Items were easy to share and let you have the full "bar food experience" from a plant-based perspective. Found myself in Cary this weekend to celebrate my brothers birthday and stopped by here for the dog friendly feature. Wasn't very busy when we went, around 12 pm on a Saturday. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. Not pictured is the fried jalapeño bites and fried ravioli the table got to split for appetizers. I enjoyed the Montreal smoked meat sandwich, which was delicious and very filling. The fries here are also pretty good! We took her advice and ordered one of each and agreed to share. They were both delicious! The chicken was well cooked and had a nice spice, but not too much. A few highlights for me were the multiple variations of poutine, gourmet hotdogs, extensive vegan and vegetarian options and even a menu for your dogs!! I got the hot chicken sandwich which was everything I could want in a Nashville hot sandwich- hot, crispy, spicy, salty (pickles) and served with crunchy slaw and cheese. The poutine le castro which my husband got was the classic poutine and was just perfect. Great spot to grab a bite n brew in Cary! They offer $2 off 16oz pours (which is usually the price doff between their 16 & 10oz pours) and on Mondays. But, the big draw for me was their poutine! They offer four variations, but the way to go is the Québécois version! The montreal meat and pickles really add some nice flavor contrasts and their gravy/cheese curds are on point! They offer a decent draught selection, but was surprised there weren't more local Cary/Raleigh brews represented? The Staff is super nice and attentive, as well. This dog friendly restaurant with vegan options was a perfect spot for us to stop in one blazing hot afternoon. We decided to cool down with some cold beers from the draft menu which had enough options for everyone. The food was great, the beer was good and the wait staff was attentive. That all being said, this was our second visit. Luckily we decided to give this place a second chance. On our first trip we stood in the dining room and waited for what felt like 10 minutes before the cook finally greeted us and said someone would be out soon. We waited a few more minutes and finally just left. Looking for wings on a Friday night, and saw the previous reviews regarding BottleDog Bites & Brews food. Deciding to give this location a try... When I first walked in, there is a small opening to see into the kitchen. I noticed the chef wasn't wearing any gloves when plating the carrots and celery (during COVID). Since I had a to go order, I assumed the chef was plating my food. Once the waiter/employee noticed I was looking into the kitchen, she attempted to divergent my attention to the bar area. The pickup was very seamless, and my order was easily confirmed. However the wings lacked any taste. I order buffalo and garlic parmesan, one of which came with a dry rub... where as the GP wings seemed to just be fried wings with grated parmesan. Sadly, I ended up adding store bought wing sauce to add some flavor. Will not be returning for the food, but would love to try the beer. read more

Wings, worth the wait, Montreal dog, awesome, poutine, fantastic. Oh, forgot about the beer, seems anticlimactic, but they have good beer. For a place that was pretty empty when I arrived you would think I would have gotten a little extra attention. Ordered the veggie flatbread pizza with fries (not poutine) with their spicy seasoning on top. The food was pretty tasty overall but not mind blowing. The pizza was the hero of the meal, it had a good balance of being crusty with just enough softness that it didn't just bite like a cracker with good balance of toppings. I've had this place bookmarked forever so we decided to try it. 1. AMAZING huge delicious pretzel. Bravo! 2. Grumpy male bartender. Boo! In Philly, $10 cheesesteaks are hero sized, but this sandwich was maybe half a foot at $15 with fries . I requested the roll be extra toasted and it was pretty soggy, and the meat tasted under seasoned and unremarkable. The grilled peppers and onions on the cheesesteak delivered some textural variation but still blended into the mediocre sandwich. Fries were decent and crispy. Overall, I'm giving this place a 3 because it's average - the other food options may be better, and eating in may provide a better experience. I've been wanting to try this place after strong Yelp reviews and hearing how it's one of the few places that air live hockey games. Although the NHL season is over, my gf and I were craving pub food and this place certainly hit the spot. I ordered the garlic parm wings and they were huge and super satisfying. My gf really enjoyed her sweet bbq chicken tenders. I tried some of the sauce, which was on point. We were thankful that they had vegan cheese to substitute in the poutine, as well as serve the gravy on the side to accommodate for my gf's dairy allergy. I think the poutine itself, would have tasted better if it was served the way it's supposed to be with cheese curds and gravy on top, but such is the life of dating a great girl who's only weakness is a sad sad aversion to dairy. I am so impressed with this place. First time I came, it was a late Saturday afternoon and my husband & I were just looking for a new place to hang out. They have a little patio but a fun swing on it. The beer menu was very extensive and the bartender Marissa was awesome. She knows her stuff. She was great with her recommendations. The menu was different but since the place has "dog" in the name we thought we would try their hotdogs. Very good. So the 2nd time we came, we decided to bring our daughter & our dog. They gladly welcome dogs and even have dog hooks outside to leash them up. Another great experience. The bartender Marissa was working again and gave us excellent service. I don't know any other place where you can get your Home made Chips made to order but they did it! I branched out & tried their Momos, steamed dumplings and they were delicious.
