This place is a really nice brewery! They have a bunch of different beers (everything we sampled was great) and a bunch of space inside. There isn't a crazy amount of outdoor seating out front but there's windows slide open so you kind of feel like you're outside even if you're inside. There's also outdoor seating out back. They also have a couple of TVs and couches if you want to watch anything live. The bartender was really nice too! read more

We stopped by Pharmacy Bottle recently on a night out and enjoyed our experience there. First, parking was a little tricky since it was the weekend and the street spots in Downtown Cary were mostly occupied, but we managed to find a paid parking spot nearby :) Not ideal, but oh well! Inside, it was pretty spacious, with a couple of couches, a few tables, and of course the bar seating. I saw multiple customers walking around with their dogs, so I'd say Pharmacy is dog-friendly. The bartender was attentive throughout, and I thought the draft beers were very reasonably priced. The selection on draft was only OK, but that's more based on personal preference, I guess :) Pharmacy also had a bunch of cans available for sale, some refrigerated and some not (presumably based on the type of beer). There was an additional fee if you chose to buy a can and drink it in the bar. Maybe this is normal, but it struck me as a little strange. They also had some food items available but I skipped those this time. Overall, I had a pretty good time. I'd definitely consider stopping by again but I'm not sure it'll be a consistent hang-out. read more

First time coming here, wanted to try something new that was vibrant, so I saw this establishment strolling through downtown Cary and it was packed. Everyone was welcomed here from kids and your for legged friend too. They have drinks from their fridge but just be aware of an upcharge which is legitimately fair in the sense of business. Academy, this casual beer bar is pretty popular and usually busy. With a great selection of craft beer on tap along with cans in their cases, you should be able to find whatever you're in the mood for. And at $6 a draft, you'll find it a decent price. The vibe at Pharmacy is good, the bartenders are skilled and all sorts of Caryites drop in for a pint. It just feels like a comfortable meeting spot, whatever you have scheduled! And if I'm not up for a cocktail at Sidebar, I usually end up here now. I don't get in as often as I'd like since I live in Raleigh but am at Pharmacy bottle often enough to know that it just delivers a great experience for an adult bevvy. read more

I love that you can bring in your own food and just chill. It was such a wonderful and warm atmosphere with people from various ages and backgrounds. One of our go-to's in Cary. Staff/bartenders are very laid back and friendly. Beer options are plentiful - drafts, cans, bottles, cans in the cooler to choose from. All sorts of beer types and from many local breweries throughout NC. Plenty of indoor seating (I like that they normally have the game showing on the TVs), and outdoor seating as well. I have always enjoyed coming here as the vibe is (typically) pretty laid back. They always have a nice selection (around 10) of various beers, so there is something for everyone. When I first walked into this place on a warm summer weekend, the first thing I noticed is the welcoming and relaxed vibe. Just what I needed to enjoy a few beers with my group. Their beer selection is great and there seemed to be a beer for every preference. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have large windows that they opened to allow for great airflow and ventilation so that you can enjoy siting inside to stay out of the sun's hot rays. You can also buy canned or bottled beer that they sell and drink them there for a corking fee. They don't sell any food but do allow outside food. This was great because I was craving the Chinese food across the street! I definitely recommend if you are in need of some refreshing beers and relaxed atmosphere. read more

Regardless of the fact that one of the Triangle's newest bottles shops, Pharmacy, has absolutely no competition, they are doing a great job keeping the space fresh, new and attracting people from far and wide. Located right on the main strip in downtown Cary, I visited one afternoon and saddled up to the counter to check out this bottle shop [that I'd heard a LOT about!] Having only been opened about four months, the owner has a great selection of beers, wine and a handful of bottled ciders. All drafts are $5.50/pint and are served in full 16oz pours (in rather unique 'can mimicking glasses). Patrons also have the ability to request 8oz pours and a beer flight (three 8oz pours of beer for around $8.50). Wine is also available by the glass or bottle to take home although the shop doesn't offer any specific gluten beers. The space itself is open and bright with lots of natural sunlight, personal table tops, bar seating and outdoor picnic tables for those 'cool' summer nights. You can tell the owner is passionate about his baby, he's easy to talk to and incredibly friendly. As for the selection of beer, it's pretty average. You won't find any specialty beers that you can't find at some of the more established spots in downtown Raleigh or Durham. However, for a town like Cary, they have a great selection of your typical craft beers and since they're the first, I think most would be grateful that Cary has a bottle shop instead of being disappointed by their selection. I don't venture out to Cary often, but I guarantee you that Pharmacy will be a new reason for me to visit! read more

So maybe I'm slightly partial because I met my husband here, got engaged here, and come here enough to have befriended the (awesome) staff, but shouldn't that be an indication as to how great this place is?? Look. Theyve always got 16 beers on draft of all varieties. When they run out of one, they've got a backup keg ready to be tapped. They also have a cooler full of all sorts of options. Don't want beer? They've got a solid wine selection. Need a snack? EAT THE PIMENTO CHEESE (it's honestly so dang good). Need a meal? Swing by the hotdog cart (yep, I recommend it for a good beer buddy food) or swing by and grab grub from a myriad of restaurants nearby... like Taipei that's across the street. Need to love on a cute puppy? I bet someone has one there!! Need to let your dog stretch it's legs on a rainy day? Bring it here. I've been coming here every Summer and Fall, and haven't really been disappointed yet. I can bring my brother (still under 21) and get him something so he doesn't feel left out and have a good time. The staff is so considerate last year my grandfather died in a VA hospice, and I just wanted to help get my Mom out of the house. So we came here picked her out a cider (she's tiny and really doesn't drink) and they didn't charge her! She hadn't said anything, but was so thankful and when I told them her Dad had passed they even came to our table to ask us how everything was and it was a pretty busy day. They have a bar and a great selection of beers to take home. You can buy them by the pack or singles. Either way a great way to try new beers. I bought a Cigar City stout and a stone IPA. Love the way they serve their beers in a glass looking can. There is parking on the side or around the establishment. I visited on a Sunday night and there was a lot of parking. What a great addition to downtown Cary! It's a breath of fresh air to see something that the younger generation can enjoy. This place is 1/2 bar and 1/2 bottle shop (including wine) and only being open 3 (ish) weeks now they have brought in some great brews in bottles and on draft. Tyler, the owner, wants to bring in beers that you won't find everywhere else in Cary. It's very non intimidating to go in and chose a beer... Tyler is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to making suggestions on what your tastes are even letting you sample them before you purchase a pint. The space has these massive sliding windows that open up to Chatham St. There are picnic tables outside and several tables inside (aside from the bar seating) where you can bring in a bite to eat. One of our new ways to wind down and bond is now to walk up there and catch up over a beer at the end of the day. They already have a weekly run club and plan to start having tap take overs, live music, food trucks and more! read more

Wish I had a chance to sit down and have a beer, but I did get to walk the shelves and found a couple of bottles of my liking. One of them was a Foothills IPA of the month, which can be hard to find. The selection was pretty decent with locals and and better national known craft breweries well represented. They're all loose bottles and cans, but you can build a 6-pack if you need to. Walking in you see an old 70's Hi-Fi system, and I think this sets the mood pretty good. It's not loud at all, just the right volume so as not to sound like an empty church. The bar is very nice looking, plenty of seats. The draft list is on a chalkboard, as to be expected. Apparently they get at least one new keg a day, so variety shouldn't be a problem. They have some nice big windows they can open once the pollen goes away, and a few tables outside. Looking forward to a quiet evening or two here! Only downside might be there's no dedicated parking. But this is downtown Cary - so not a problem to take a very short walk. read more

Such a cool spot! You can bring your pups inside - only wish I had known that before we went, but that just means I have to return, which I will be doing, several times. They had a Ballast Point tap takeover thing going so hubs and I had the peach and an IPA. The bartenders were fast and friendly and the crowd seemed to have a fantastic time. Very cool setup and nice location for a craft beer shop in downtown cary. Parking is limited but its worth the walk. They have a great rotating tap list and its cool that they also operate as package store. No food but Im pretty sure you can bring your own since I saw a bunch of people with menus from the chinese place across the way. Only thing thats a good and a bad thing is they have a open air garage type setup which means if anyone is smoking outside of the bar at the tables it all bleeds into the shop. Family-friendly, dog-friendly, friend-friendly ... basically really FRIENDLY! There isn't another place around like this, and can't remember what we did before having a place like this. Perfect on warm afternoons and nights, a great stop-off before or after-dinner, a place for a family get-together or just to catch up with someone over a beer. Oh, and by the way, they know what they're talking about. Really top-notch all the way around. I came across this place in passing during laze daze art festival in DT Cary. I enjoyed their selection of beers (16 rotating drafts) and other craft bottled beers for sale. The staff was helpful and friendly. Most importantly they have a nice open space to sit and relax while enjoying a beer. On my next weekday off, I'm looking forward to doing some light reading or catch up on emails (free wifi) while enjoying a nice cold brew. Unfortunately, they don't serve food, but they do allow you to bring your food. If I remember correctly, their hours are 12-9pm Sunday to Thursday and 12-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. read more

This is a cute little bottle shop in Cary. I'll definitely return. Parking can be a bit crazy in downtown Cary on the weekends, but there is parking behind the ice cream/jeweler next door (just be sure to avoid the spots with signs for the jeweler). The place is very open and clean. There is a bit of seating at different tables scattered about. It's almost as if there are 3 different areas to the establishment: the bar area, bottle shop seating, and "sports" seating by the 1 television. I did see a sign for a patio, but it was raining when I was there, so I didn't venture out and can't comment on the size or quality. Now to the actual selection of beer in the bottle shop. I thought the draft list was better than the bottle selection, it contained local beers, as well as Charlotte area (Birdsong), Wilmington (Wilmington Brewing), Asheville (Burial), and national (Bells). The bottles were somewhat basic, but nothing extraordinary. They carry most all things Raleigh area, along with similar assortment carried on draft. It wasn't an extensive selection, but it wasn't the most limited I've seen in a bottle shop. Based on this aspect, this appears to be more of a bar/hang out location first, bottle shop second. In the event you don't enjoy beer, I do want to point out there were a few selections of wine, as well as hard cider on draft. There is no food that I could tell, besides local beef sticks. I've read in other reviews that food can be brought in, but I did not ask/did not need to bring in food. Overall it was a good experience, and I will likely stop by again when I need a change of pace from downtown Raleigh. read more
