Trophy Brewing Company is a brewery I tried a while back and somehow it escaped my attention to get a review posted for it. But as I have said before while writing these kinds of reviews, better late than never. The beer that Steve and I enjoyed was a good one! The name of it was I Can See My Helles from here. So what that is is a Helles Lager and it was a good one! I do enjoy these types of beers as they are usually fairly light and that is something I can completely appreciate. Flavors to be on the lookout for with this beer are malty, a hint of apple, bready and a clean finish. It is also very light bodied which is exactly what I like to strive towards as the warmer summer months are starting to crank up once again! read more

Nice little brewery spot. Could be crowded on a day that the doors are patio is closed. Luckily it was open while I was there. Dog friendly, rotating food trucks, and some house provided games to choose from. I got the juicy IPA that was definitely a 5 star beer. read more

Stopped in with local friends on our way back to NY. The Food was really good! We got the Winner Winner and Goat pizzas. It was something to dream about. We had 2 large pies between the 4 of us and took about 6 slices home. Patrick our Server was fantastic! He was so spot on with everything and so attentive. Great asset for this place!! The ambiance was top notch. Very well laid out AND there is a game room that is about to open and is going to put this place on the charts! Good luck to you All! Grabbed a beer from here recently and had a good time. They had a parking lot available for customers, but I decided to use the street parking since I was heading to a nearby show after visiting the brewery. They had a pretty decent selection of beers, and the bartender was friendly and helpful. There's no food offered directly by Trophy, but you can always hit up the food truck outside. Overall, not a bad experience and I'd come back if I was in the area. read more

Came here on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised at a not overly crowded place (in a good way!). They have a private parking lot and there's plenty of street parking. A decent sized inside area with a really nice patio. They had a good variety of beer/drink options and a rotating food truck. I absolutely Trophy Brewing company! While this review is specifically about this location, the company itself actually has four different locations: one that's a brewery and pizzeria, this location (beer only, and also happens to be Trophy's production facility), a distillery, and a craft beer & wine shop. Your options are limitless depending on the kind of outing you're looking to have. Out of the four locations I'm an absolute sucker for this one, it's genuinely one of my favorite places to go with my wife for a day out and to enjoy fantastic beer. It's the perfect spot to bring a dog if you have one, as they are super dog friendly and typically always have food trucks on site. I think just about the only downside is their beer selection is slightly limited, but that's actually typical for a craft brewer, so don't let that deter you! There is a great option for just about anyone, just mention your flavor profile to the folks working there, and you'll get your perfect suggestion. Verdict: If you're on the hunt for good beer and are in the area, look no further! Have a dog? Perfect! Looking to grab a bite? No problem! Stop by and you won't be disappointed. Great place to sit outside and enjoy a beer. They have a good selection of beers to choose from and are reasonably priced. They provide suggestions when requested. Some brews are packaged and available to-go. Social distancing and masks supported. No line when we arrived. Dog friendly environment. Ample seating. Parking is tricky, we ended up parallel parking on the street. We purchased: Trophy wife ($10.99/6 pack) Trophy husband ($5) Sly Wit ($5) Stack of Vermont ($17.99/4 pack) I prefer the sly wit, trophy husband, and trophy wife. The stack of Vermont was strong and flavorful, however, I did not enjoy the overwhelming syrup flavor. If you enjoy maple syrup and stouts then this is the brew for you. My favorite Raleigh brewery, Trophy serves up a great selection of brews for every taste, from their signature Trophy Wife IPA and its equally amazing Trophy Partner, to the deliciously hazy Cloud Surfer and the crisp Trophy Husband Wit. There's also a wide selection of Stouts and Porters for those whose tastes trend in the heavier direction. While the Maywood location doesn't offer the wonderful menu of pizza and apps served at the Morgan St. taproom, there are food trucks onsite most nights. There's ample seating inside and out, as well as a little merch store so you can stock on cool Trophy Brewing swag. Okay if you are ever in Raleigh you have to go to trophy brewing it is so fun! I had the best gose I have had in a while. They also have a pizza joint that is out of this world just sayin. We decided to try this establishment because they have vegan options and we could bring our sweet senior dog with us if we sit out on their lovely patio area. The staff is friendly and accommodating, vegan sausage and cheese with lots of veggies makes for a delish cruelty free pizza! They have fantastic salads too! We visit the Maywood location very often, maybe a little too often. So that explains my 5 stars. This location has parking limitations but you can park by the side of the streets around them when it gets busy. The good news is, there is PLENTY of outdoor seating- sun, shade, tent. The beers are rotating taps of specials, funky, reliable regular ones. We always get at least 2 new beers and have always loved it. Never had a bad beer ever. My opinion is they make the best IPA (NEIPA, DIPA, Imperials) and Stouts. There are food trucks to make sure you're belly isn't empty. I have a shrimp allergy so it is rare for me to find a food truck there which doesn't contaminate- that said, my family generally devours food with Trophy beers. We love their Tshirts too. Watch where you park. I parked in the lot next to the shop and luckily caught the tow company before I got towed. $90 later I moved my car. Could trophy put up a warning signs facing the lot to warn prospective patrons not to park here? No. Due to coronavirus they have eliminated 20 parking spots replacing them with tables and tents. I love Trophy and pretty much anything this group does. The taproom is great! The interior has a good feel and even better is that they have a ton of outdoor seating. They typically have good food trucks. They have their own limited parking lot and there's plenty of on-street parking. The staff is always pleasant and on top of things. Stopped in to Trophy passing through town based on a recommendation from a local. It was pretty crowded but the line moved fast. The beer was tasty, and the prices were reasonable. For food they had two food trucks to choose from outside, another plus. The kicker? Every 3rd Saturday of the month they have a "pop up" arts/crafts sale whereby local artists set up shop in the brewery and sell their products. Such a cool idea and the art was awesome! Did the flight here last night; $15 gets you eight 5-oz pours of what they want you to try. I have to say, it's all pretty good, but the Milky Way stout and DIPA were my favorites! No food at this location, but they have food trucks every day except Mon/Tues. after my flight and a pint, I went back to the other location for salad & pizza... We came specifically for the 2018 New Years Day Hangover Bash. Bluegrass music in the brewery (way too cold outside) and Spread Catering and Events Co. had the Que covered. Sassagrass a collection of talented musicians from across NC provided the entertainment. Check out their Facebook page or website to find out more. A New Years spread of black eyed peas, collards, slaw, rolls and a whole pig for the pickin' were served. Fresh and delicious raw oysters from Harkers Island harvested today were also available from Oysters Carolina. I've only been to this "Trophy" establishment, but I was thoroughly impressed and am eager to visit the others. They don't have food options, but have a food truck there. Their taps varied from Hefeweizens to heavy stouts with several options in between! They had a great to-go selection and the staff was really attentive and pleasant. I felt like the atmosphere was great as an out of Towner party of 1. I kind of wish they had a TV in there but otherwise to mellow out and relax this was a great spot.! The location I went to was the one located on maywood outside of the downtown Raleigh. They have parking on the premises and on the road. Get there early if you want parking. I arrived for an event and they also had a pop-up market which was a lot of fun. Inside is a lot more spacious than it seems. The taproom is a little cramped but they serve delicious beers. There's wifi as well and the password is usually by the menu of drinks and snacks under social media. If you're looking for water it's by the corner on a wall outside if you exit the taproom. I like that. They also have a food truck that changed everyday. It's a good place to chill and eat. They turn on the heaters outside when it gets chilly which helps if you're sitting outside. read more

I always order the Cloud Surfer IPA when they have it because it's one of the best hazy IPAs I've ever had. I'm pretty picky when it comes to beer but I can always find something I like at Trophy. The interior design of trophy is so unique and definitely follows the theme that they had in mind. There is plenty of seating at Trophy whether that be inside or outside. If you like the beer enough, then they even have a gift shop with awesome t-shirts, beer to go, and other apparel. There are large garages doors that open to the outside which unfortunately brings in hot air but it must be great for the cooler nights. There has been a food truck every time that I've gone. I was at Trophy on Maywood yesterday and watched the "towing" incident described below and I would have to agree with it. Parking has always been limited at this location but now that Covid restrictions are in place, there is literally NOWHERE to park. All parking spaces that there used to be, have been taken over by outside tables and tents. You are forced to park on the street, sometimes several blocks away, and walk on the busy street to get a beer. Dangerous and just not worth it. Trophy should go back to being closed. I will be finding another brewery to give my money to...there are plenty of them in town. read more

Was here the other day for a very quick beer. I like this location even better than the other one. We didn't try the food truck, but I wouldn't mind doing so next time. This spot felt WAY less clausterphobic and crowded than the other location. More comfortable. More off the beaten path. Still convenient to downtown. And I love the space. May be a tad biased. I'm "two degrees" of separation from the owner (although I've never met them). I've been to two Trophy locations in my last couple of trips to Raleigh and this location was definitely more enjoyable. It was a beautiful day outside, so they had the garage doors up which open up to a large patio area. Unfortunately, it was SO nice, that we were relegated inside. I had the Inside Joke to drink, a double IPA that is a collaboration with Trophy and Night Shift Brewing. I'm no professional, but definitely a very full flavor without being overpowered by hops. We also did a self-guided tour of the brewery (the perks of knowing someone that knows someone). All of the brewing tanks are named after Star Wars characters, hilarious. As a major Star Wars fan and minor Star Wars nerd, I really enjoyed that. I had a great time and look forward to checking out Trophy's future offerings. So excited that Trophy on Maywood is open! I love the Trophy downtown brewery/restaurant, but it is so small.. We stopped by on opening night and grabbed a few beers- Slingshot (coffee porter), Milky Way (stout) and Limbo Champ (American Brown). They have a great selection of darker beers! They have several beers at the Maywood taproom that they don't currently have at the restaurant downtown. The taproom is awesome, but I'm excited for them to have food eventually (I believe they said they would...?). I can't wait for the pizza!! read more
