Depending on the time of day parking may be hard. There is limited street parking near the front of the business. A food truck is located outside in front of the business & multiple coolers were inside with a variety of beverages. There is also a large self-serve room temperature water cooler with dispenser and paper cups in the dining area. This is where I was told to get my water from when I asked for water. The indoor dining area is spacious with multiple tables inside. When I first walked in I approached the bar. There were two bartenders talking to other customers being personable & one looked at me but did not acknowledge me for a period of time. Finally the other bartender came over & took my order. When I placed my order I paid a tip well above the 20% with the expectation of a better experience & service. I seated myself & waited for my food. There were loud fans turned on inside and near my table. The chef brought my food to my table from the food truck after he cooked it. I got the smash burger and fries. The aioli pub sauce on my burger was disgusting. I tried to wipe it off the burger but my appetite was ruined and something was off about the burger. I felt sick to my stomach after trying to eat it and I couldn't finish it after two bites. I trashed the burger and I ate the fries. They were ok. I looked at the menu to see if there was something else I would get but a lot of things were already sold out for the day. I also used my paid restaurant club membership during this visit. The bartenders or anyone never came over to ask me how my food was or if I needed anything. As I walked out the same bartender that took my order thanked me for coming in. Unfortunately based upon this experience I will not be returning.

I love the atmosphere at Durham Beer Garden. I especially love .50 wing night on Mondays. Their lemon pepper and Carolina gold bbq are our go to. Their fries and edamame are delicious as well. They have a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and arts and crafts night on Mondays well as other weekly events.

A solid new option for beer near downtown Durham, the new Durham Beer Garden along with Little Bull next door are adding a lot of energy to this corner of the Bull City. Durham Beer Garden is a large and sprawling space both indoors and out. Two main rooms along with three patio areas (front, side, in back) means there's lots of space to spread out in. There's about 15 or so taps along a small menu of American grill eats (wings, burgers, etc) available for food. There are several cool murals in the space along with a fun, Durham bull neon sign up front. Overall it's still early to see where this business goes but stop by and check it out!

Convoluted screen that includes mandatory fee/"tip" and the button you will press unknowingly, which looks like the actual tip

Great place (mostly outdoor, with some indoor seating) with a good selection of beers But BIG FEE ALERT: Even if you buy one beer, the 20% tip is already included But the worst part is it prompts you to **tip again** (ranging from an additional 7% to 3% - which brings a tip total to 27% potentially if you do not notice what's going on), without any true warning that you've already been un-optionally charged a 20% fee I cannot stress this enough, but when you're being charged a mandatory amount of money, that's a fee, NOT a tip

Came for the drinks but was honestly immensely impressed by the food and ambiance! There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, as well as extremely kind servers. You order food inside at a kiosk and pick up outside at the food truck when it is ready. Super simple and easy to use, and the food is delicious! May take a while to get the food if lots of people order at once but it is well worth the wait. Can't wait to come back, especially in the summer months when patio seating will be perfect.

This place is huge! It's super cute and fun. They have board games, lots of outside games like cornhole and jenga, and a big beer selection. The outside is super cute, lots of lights and plants. The food was really good, it was Asian, American and Asian fusion. We love places where we can bring our dog inside during the hot months (she is very social and just loves being around people). We can't wait to come back when it's cooler and enjoy the outside!

Great atmosphere with lots of space. Lots of heaters for outside. Just slightly overpriced IMO.

I've been hearing about this Bull City Burger spot for over two months, (noted for their tasty…read moregrass-fed beef) and in watching the reviews -- I figured that the experience should be very pleasant; to the eyes and the palate. I was hoping I would not be disappointed. Downtown Durham on Parrish Street I do believe. I went there midday and there was a sparse lunch crowd already seated when I arrived. The warmly lit space presents nice aesthetic as you walk into the restaurant. A very chill and comfortable atmosphere. I love the bar and the mirrored wall nestled behind it. The spot is pretty laidback and very clean, but has a bit of a rustic nuance to it as well. I like that. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful towards advising me in making my selection -- with me being a first-timer and all. I kept it simple...I chose the Classic Burger (pink) with pepper jack cheese, bacon marmalade, and as a side, I had to go with the Dirty Fries -- 'cause that's how I roll y'all. About the food: I have to say, the burger was staunchly built and crafted with artistry. Nice and tall with a seriously tasty bun encapsulating everything. Perfectly well-seasoned meat and the first bite was simply delightful. I noticed as I got towards the center of the meat, it was bit less juicy than the surrounding parts of the burger, but nevertheless still tasty. My Dirty Fries were delicious In the end; the experience as a whole was quite delightful and I would definitely like to go there again -- perhaps try a different burger to expand upon my experience with this place. Gotta try out That Bar y'all! I do recommend it for those who haven't had a chance to go by there to check it out.

I'm going to open by saying that the fun and humor of this restaurant is amazing. The interior is…read morenice and vibrant, with a perfect mix of minimalist and maximalist designs in the building (especially with the brewery apparatus being visible--which is awesome!!). Even before me an my party entered we could hear music playing from the building, which kept the vibes up! Moving onto the food, a certain menu item caught my eye. Something that I'm legally obligated to keep quiet about... but let tell you- this burger was Gooood. This "Signature Secret Burger" was rather unique, as it was like you took a pretty simple egg burger, and just ramped it up. My initial thought when I first tried it was that it was a burger squared, the mystery ingredients amplified the flavor to make such a savory meal. It wasn't to overbearing like many other burger places that I've visited, not immediately making me feel fat and full after taking a few bites. Our party also ordered a whole quart of fries, and they were SO GOOD!!! I'm a sucker for good fries, and you knocked this out of the park! Your fry soft was nice and mellow and complimented the fries perfectly. (And even afterwards, the fries warmed up really well and were still Really freakin' good!) Finally, during my visit, their anniversary event (Happy 15th By The Way ) and they were offering FREE DESSERT for someone who happened to sit in a randomly chosen seat. And by the luck of the gods my little brother found his way onto the seat! It was just really awesome to see a restaurant doing such awesome things for their birthday, y'don't see that every day! Overall, this place is definitely a place to stop by if you're in Durham. If you're in the area visit IMMEDIATELY if you love good fun food!

We came here on a Thursday for a late lunch. I do not recommend the burger melt. Despite it having…read moremelted cheese and caramelized onions, it had no taste. I thought beef had a naturally salty taste but there was nothing. The buffalo chicken sandwich was decent. I think the buffalo sauce and Cole slaw saved it because the chicken didn't have much of a taste either. I ordered fries originally but they delivered potatoes to me. The server that delivered the food quickly put in an order for fries to fix the first servers error and I'm glad he did. The fries saved the meal. They were cooked perfectly and hot. I'd come back here for the fries for sure. After we got our food, the servers just forgot about us and another customer that had been there for about the same amount of time that we had. We were in the restaurant another 15 minutes trying to get the attention of a server to come give us our check. The original server never came back even though we could see him at a register near the kitchen. The new server had to ask us what our order was and ring us out under her name because our original server was doing something else nearby and not being helpful to us.

The waitress was great about bringing us everything we needed. I ordered the salmon filet on greens with sweet potato cakes. The salmon was great - perfectly cooked, and the greens seemed fresh, but the whole dish was doused in a sweet maple syrup sauce, which rendered the sweet potato cakes so soaked that I couldn't choke them down. I left most of the greens as well, since the maple syrup didn't really go with a salad. The fish was fine, as I could salt it a bit and have serve as a foil to the sauce. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The Rueben looked amazing. So, the moral of the story is, when you go to a bar, don't try to eat healthy! Get the bar food.
