I love places like this. It's a great place to figure out what kind of beers you like. They had a great selection of beers, ciders, and wine. They also had some THC seltzers and non alcoholic beers. Cans of soda were also available for purchase. The service was good since you pretty much serve yourself. There are some big tables together, so it's conducive to big and small groups. There is also a big outdoor patio.

For Restful Death from Haw River Farmhouse Ales. $0.85/oz.

Pour Taproom is a chain of bars which has a great concept - you pour your own beer and drink as much or as little as you want. You don't have to commit to a whole glass. This is a great way to sample multiple beers without drinking too much. My wife and I are familiar with this chain from its multiple locations in Atlanta (Pour is headquartered in Atlanta) and the self-serve beer concept in general from similar businesses like Pinhouse in Charlotte. They all use individually-assigned electronic wristbands to keep track of consumption. We're fans. At the time of writing this review, there are two Pour locations in North Carolina: Durham and Wilmington. This location opened in June 2017 on the ground level of Unscripted, a hotel that faces Durham's Main Square in the heart of downtown. This is a great location because there are many excellent restaurants, bars, and other places to go to within short walking distance. For example, I recommend The Parlour across the square for outstanding ice cream. I don't think this place has dedicated or validated parking. However, there's plenty of street, surface lot, and deck parking nearby. Metered parking is enforced Monday-Friday, 8am-7pm. At the time of writing this review, parking rates are $2.50/hour for street and $2.25/hour for lot/deck. We parked for free in Lot 32 at 111 W Chapel Hill St (free because it was a Saturday). We had a good time during our Saturday night visit. We were expecting this place to be busier than it was, especially since it was nice out. Pour has a sizable and enjoyable outdoor patio at this location. They did a really nice job with that. Lawn games included cornhole and big Connect Four. The inside was pleasant as well. The staff was really friendly, they had sports playing on the big screens, and the vibe was comfortable. I liked it because it wasn't crowded or loud. So, if you prefer more of a relaxed and relatively-quiet bar atmosphere, this is the place to be. There were many dozens of beers on tap plus a very limited selection of wine and cocktails. A lot of the beer was local/regional, which is what I think mainly sets the different Pour locations apart (menu). Drinks are individually priced. I enjoyed the Haw River Farmhouse Ales For Restful Death foeder-aged lager ($0.85/oz) and Fullsteam Brewery's Paycheck pilsner ($0.55/oz), both local. My wife's favorite beer was the Lindemans Framboise Raspberry Lambic Beer. She didn't like the cocktails (cosmopolitan, margarita) nor the wines that she got. Our friend tried the old fashioned and described it as "interesting" and about what you'd expect from old fashioned on tap. The self-rinsing mechanisms don't seem very sanitary, but more power to you if you use them. Pour in Durham partnered with local restaurant Lula and Sadie's for food. A group near us ordered a Tasting Board ($7.00) and it looked good. This place gets four stars out of me mainly because of the flexible ordering format, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff.

We came here to waste some time before our table was ready at a nearby restaurant. There were a lot of people outside and nobody inside. The girl explained how to badge your bracelet to begin pouring from tap. I tried a couple of drinks before we ended up going to the restaurant. We sat outside and it was pretty chill with everybody drinking and hanging out. Everything was good and I would recommend it.

Get your bracelet and you pour your own drinks.

Cool concept but as a consumer you need to be conscious of your bill. You can easily spend a lot. Tons of choices from cider to beer to sparkling wines. We stood at the counter for quite some time before we called it and said, "let's leave". That is when the employee came over and took care of us. If you are in this part of town it is a great place to hang out with your friends for some drinks.

It is a beautiful day! Just got married Came here due to it being near the court house. It has outdoor seating which is a big plus. It looks really cool from the outside! The concept is fantastic. You are charged by the ounce. You are giving a bracelet which you use to turn on the taps. There are several options from light to darks. There is also wine. The have some board games as well. It is a great vibe. I would come back for sure!

Atmosphere: Pour is a spacious taproom that has great options for indoor or outdoor seating. There are also games to play and TVs to watch while spending time with friends. Service: Though there is not a lot of interaction with the staff, they have always been friendly and make light conversation when it's not too busy. It never takes a long time to get your wristband from the register, and everything is self-serve! Food: We love the variety of drinks at Pour! They have a rich selection from fruity ciders to hazy IPAs, which means there's something for everyone to enjoy or discover. Pour especially appealed to us because they charge by ounce, allowing for us to try many of the beers without the pressure of buying an entire glass. Overall: Pour has the perfect welcoming and fun environment to enjoy on a night in Downtown Durham. The wide selection of drinks at a very reasonable price allows you to discover some new beers, ciders, and even wines. The wristband system is easy to follow, and our time has always flown by with great company, fun complementary games, and great booze!

Went here for drinks, haven't tried the food. I really love that you only pour as much or as little as you want so you can try basically anything (within limit) from their long (like 50-60+?) selection of ciders, beers, and wine on tap. You pay by the ounce--which is really perfect for a non-heavy drinker like me. I have low alcohol tolerance so I can't even finish a whole can of beer without feeling hot and queasy--my low alcohol tolerance doesn't stop me from trying a couple sips here and there of new stuff and appreciating a good drink though! They give you a wristband to scan each drink you pour. There is something for everyone here at Pour--and you don't have to commit to a whole pint--not even a whole glass! PS: they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating!

Four instead of a five because after my first pour, I noticed some odd brown stuff covering half my glass...the waitress was nice enough to deduct those ounces from my total but it was a little gross since it could have been on other glasses, too. The concept of pour is really neat, you can try as many different beers, ciders, and wines as you want as long as you stay under the allotted total--I think the cutoff is around 32 for beer and 25 for wine, which is reasonable. My friend got a charcuterie board for less than $10 and it had a lot of good things on it (I don't know anywhere else you can get a good one for that cheap). I had the toasted turkey sandwich and it was good and pretty large---loved that it came with brie, considering it is my favorite cheese. For the quality of beers and wines offered, it is pretty cheap and it's nice that you can try any of them before buying a whole glass of something you don't like. There is something for everyone here, whether you're a sour person, a stout person, or a rose lover.

I really like the concept of Pour Taproom! You start a tab at the front and they hand you a red wristband that you tap against whichever tap you want. Since I'm not a big beer drinker, I really liked that you pay based on how much you pour, so you don't have to get a full glass of a single beer. My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday night and had a blast pouring our own beers and sampling everything. We sampled sours, Belgians, IPAs, and stouts. They also have wine if you're not into beer. Ambiance was great and they have many board games for you to play too!

    Wine too!

After fighting for a table, we both ordered hot drinks: my friend got a latte and I ordered the rose chai latte, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, after my friend placed her order, the barista mentioned they were "out of espresso" and offered to "top it with milk" instead and she wouldn't taste a difference. That was disappointing and felt a bit unfair that my friend essentially ended up paying for milk rather than a true latte. We also tried the Tepuy donuts, which were tasty (love Tepuy sourdough donuts!), though I wish they had been warmed up. Given how busy it was, service felt a bit rushed and less attentive than expected--understandable, but still noticeable. The space itself is nice, with a variety of table sizes, and I can tell it would be a great spot to sit and chat on a slower day. I would look forward to giving it another try on a less hectic day!

Panysaurus over all is a cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Durham location brings you an awesome patio scene! The bar itself is a bit small but their indoor/outdoor approach makes it seem huge. The patio is two floors, both covered, one just off the bar and the other right about that which has a few TVs for those interested. Off of the patio is a nice size "beer garden" sitting area complete with picnic tables and a great view. If you are looking for chill family friendly patio vibes this is the place to be! I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. If you've been to the Raleigh location, the Durham menus is not the same. Yes they have pizza but it doesn't seem to have the same options - still good though. We went with a hankering for the hummus we got at the Raleigh location, again the Durham location had hummus but a different variation. One thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus, there is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park. Plenty of WARM pita for everyone. This location is somewhat self-service, the bartender obviously poured out beer and there is a cute window for picking up snacks but no table service.
