Super fun spot with a piano (bonus points)! Came here last month after a concert at the amphitheater. Got my standard glass of bubbles and enjoyed the atmosphere, karaoke, and tinkering on the piano. This is next to the now closed Runologie. It's a lot bigger inside with an entire second room in the back, and the front room has some couches and a lot Of fun eclectic decor. Last night was my first time visiting the Tap Yard but definitely won't be the last. The event was indoors which surprised me but not in a bad way. I'd prefer to be indoors especially as it gets closer to summer but if you want to take a break and go outside you can which is nice. The bartenders were fast and friendly. Beggars Banquet, a Rolling Stones tribute band, played for three hours and what a show! The music was great, the audience was dancing and singing along, the musicians were so skilled and so lively -- they came down off the stage while performing to interact with the crowd. I had a blast! I just feel awful that I didn't plan ahead and bring more cash. I would have liked to leave a better tip for the band. They were extraordinarily good and so generous with their energy and talent. I will definitely be watching for more Beggars Banquet shows and other concerts and events at the Tap Yard! read more

We had a BLAST celebrating St. Patrick's weekend at Tap Yard! I really loved the layout, the different bars, the options to experience different atmospheres, and the drink specials. The 7 piece Irish band was great! We sang! We danced! The staff members were all super nice. We looked forward to the derby party because it was fun last year but this year is was so poorly ran and the advertising was a joke. No prizes and the evening bands set up blocked the big screen so bad you could barely see the race. Meanwhile we spent alot on expensive drink specials. Made really nice derby hats and dressed up to an event that just made money for the bar. While we were invited to a home party but decided to go because of last of last year. This was a major disappointment and false advertisement. great for Saturday day bar sales but this was not a derby party. read more

Tapyard was not only quick to respond, but they could accommodate all of our needs, including potluck dishes, electric for crockpots, and a dedicated space with lighting. It was a dream come true. I'm fond of the spaciousness of Tap Yard and the fact that they are dog-friendly both indoors and outdoors. The cocktails were decent, and I was pleased to find a taco food truck on site when I visited in the evening. The staff at Tap Yard were friendly and made me feel valued. I wouldn't mind returning in the future. For dog owners, Tap Yard is an excellent choice, and I wholeheartedly endorse it. A new option for beer and wine in an odd spot between Wake Forest Road and Capital Blvd. Located in a slightly industrial area, don't let the front of Tap Yard fool you! They are still in soft open mode and working on the front room, head down the side of the building to the back where you'll find another entry door to the area that has finished construction. Inside it's a wide open space with a U-shaped bar and a smattering of tables and games. Very casual, neighborhood feel to the space. They are still working on getting more taps into the space so it's primarily beer in cans right now. Overall I like the feel of the space, they've also got a nice back patio and some other construction going on outside so it should be like a funky and smaller Bowstring Brewyard which is right down the street. Curious to see what else they add before their official, grand opening. read more

Tap Yard is a fun time. They have beer, wine, cocktails, spirits and non-alcoholic options. I like the spacious outdoor area, it's good for groups of all sizes. In addition to having games outside they also have some inside, my favorite was the small rubber duck claw machine. If you're looking for good craft beer choices, this is not the stop for you. There were 4-6 drafts on tap, then cans or bottles available (all of which were average beer, nothing exciting). I was told the owner previously ran Paddy O'Beers, so I was a bit perplexed at the crappy craft beer options. A food truck was setting up as we were leaving. There are tables inside, but even more seating outside in their good sized "backyard." I can see this becoming pretty busy with small children and dogs on weekends, so if that's not your thing (and you want quality beer), I'd drive to nearby Lynnwood (always busy) or Neuse River. read more

Horrible place to vend. Unprofessional and very unorganized . First time vending there , we received a email ASKING us to be there. We came 45 minutes before the event started and got scolded by a young lady name Molly. We were told the area was first come first serve . Then as we inquired indoor area(nobody was in) we were told it was reserved . ... we were greeted by Robyn who told us that the inside was not reserved ... with this confusion we decided to set up outside . After trying to unload our things we were told we couldn't park at the facility . In knowing that, we wanted to just unload our materials first , we had Candles, tents, GLASS table stands & more. Instead of being helpful we were argued at about how it was inappropriate to remove things from the car.. meanwhile it's 80+ degrees and the business is a CANDLE COMPANY. The host for this event was very unprofessional, unrealistic , agitated & unwelcoming .. for my first welcomed event , we do not recommend first timers ANY tap yard event . read more

a new, upcoming bar in raleigh that's having soft openings every friday & saturday up until their grand opening in april! we came by in the evening because of the cellist brianna tam that my cousin told us about. once we arrived, there was a sign that told us to use the side door which lead us to an outdoor area with food trucks, a huge kiddy pool, & bon fire area! we noticed the sound of cellist inside the bar & it was such a cozy place inside. we sat down at a table near the stage & there were qr codes for the menu & to order food/drinks. my sister ordered a mimosa & waited a while before checking with the bar to see if they received the order, which they had to check their device to confirm they did (usually there would be a receipt printed) & then her drink was brought out shortly after. it was pretty quiet for a saturday evening given that the unc vs duke game was happening, which they did have the channel on for customers at the bar who wanted to watch. it was a great time, honestly! loved the duality of having live music & entertainment at the bar area as well as arcade games! their bathrooms were accessible & still in the process of finalizing decoration but it was very clean, even had some tampons/pads for the ladies! we ended up ordering a few more drinks, each time they did receive the order & was brought out to us within 10 minutes. overall, we loved the intimacy of the bar as there were lots of different seating styles & loved how the outdoor was so festive as well! imo, definitely going to be pretty popular once they're fully up & running! read more

When you enter it feels like a cigar bar and as you walk through it quickly turns into a sports bar with a large private outdoor space! Great laid back atmosphere, huge outdoor space, and if you want something a little more dressed up, they have a seperate bar in the front for you. Over an acre!! Tap yard has a huge outdoor space with fire pits, Adirondack chairs, picnic tables and corn hole. Great place to bring your kids or pups. Extensive drink menu - beer, wine, cider, seltzers and mixed drinks! Staff was wonderful and my dog enjoyed the doggie beer. Great band on 3/17! read more

Stopped in just to check this place out. I was designated driver for later in the evening so took in the vibe sober. They had a great 80's band, 3 bars, outdoor area with games and fire pits. New spot just North of downtown Raleigh. They are in soft open mode as they finish out the front room. Head around the right side to the back room and the huge back yard space. This venture is run by experienced Triangle hospitality vets, so they are taking things slow to make sure they get it right--and IMO the are on the right track. We were excited to try out our new neighborhood bar, we came in at 11 thinking they closed at 12 but maybe we were mistaken. The staff was clearly upset we came in when we did, I ordered a round of shots at 11:20 and the girl bartender was rolling her eyes I had to double check they stayed open until 12... very unwelcoming. It was also $30 for 3 shots which is pretty insane for Raleigh especially considering they are off capitol not even DT. The service crew was trying to clean up and close we felt very unwelcome and eventually took our drinks to finish outside at around 11:45. Maybe it's a daytime place, but we most likely will not be back due to being rushed out and drink prices. Very let down, especially since they are right around the corner from out house. read more

You're halfway there! If you're looking for a fun happy hour halfway between Raleigh and Wake Forest, check this out. They have a huge back outdoor area with plenty of entertainment. It was a soft launch so the front was still being renovated but the back bar is set up with games and live music. Should be a good time when it's complete. read more
