This is a cute little bottle shop in Cary. I'll definitely return. Parking can be a bit crazy in downtown Cary on the weekends, but there is parking behind the ice cream/jeweler next door (just be sure to avoid the spots with signs for the jeweler). The place is very open and clean. There is a bit of seating at different tables scattered about. It's almost as if there are 3 different areas to the establishment: the bar area, bottle shop seating, and "sports" seating by the 1 television. I did see a sign for a patio, but it was raining when I was there, so I didn't venture out and can't comment on the size or quality. Now to the actual selection of beer in the bottle shop. I thought the draft list was better than the bottle selection, it contained local beers, as well as Charlotte area (Birdsong), Wilmington (Wilmington Brewing), Asheville (Burial), and national (Bells). The bottles were somewhat basic, but nothing extraordinary. They carry most all things Raleigh area, along with similar assortment carried on draft. It wasn't an extensive selection, but it wasn't the most limited I've seen in a bottle shop. Based on this aspect, this appears to be more of a bar/hang out location first, bottle shop second. In the event you don't enjoy beer, I do want to point out there were a few selections of wine, as well as hard cider on draft. There is no food that I could tell, besides local beef sticks. I've read in other reviews that food can be brought in, but I did not ask/did not need to bring in food. Overall it was a good experience, and I will likely stop by again when I need a change of pace from downtown Raleigh. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for people watching. They beer selection is incredible and the ambiance is nice. It's farmy-industrial. Staff is nice and can guide your palate in the right direction for your tastes. Love it. read more

Pharmacy is a quaint bottle shop in the heart of downtown Cary. We went there in a Saturday and it was hopping. As with most other breweries and bottle shops, Pharmacy is dog-friendly and kid-friendly. There is a large tv with a few tables inside and then the bar area with seats lining the bar. I really like the white subway tiles that make up the bar walls and there are about 13 draft beers on tap. The beer is served in glasses with the Pharmacy logo and Cary, NC. There were also picnic tables outside and a really friendly atmosphere. The left side of the shop has beer in bottles and cans for sale and there were even a few wine selections. I found a bottle of red Sangiovese that I had at Pompieri in Durham and this was the first time I have seen this wine outside of the restaurant. They have all the local and domestic craft beers (Wicked Weed, Ponysauras, Alpine, etc) and everything is nicely displayed. There is not food served yet I did see people bring in their own picnic items or food to eat. Pharmacy is a great addition to downtown Cary as this area is undergoing a revitalization. After Pharmacy, we went to the new Brew coffee shop connected to the Cary Theater and everything is within walking distance. read more

Really cool draft and bottle shop. Nice selection of craft beers. Love the decor of the refurbished Pharmacy. Nice place to hangout to enjoy a brew before or after enjoying Cary Theatre next door. read more

Great local spot in the heart of downtown Cary. Next to The Cary Theater. Great feel/vibe to the place. I hope the beer selection grows with the business. I grabbed some food from Crosstown Pub next door and enjoyed a few pints. Friendly and helpful staff and good beer selection. Parking can be tricky but it's worth a block or two walk to. read more

Checked out Pharmacy on Saturday afternoon and had a great time. 2 negatives for me - parking is super limited, but as long as you know that going in, it's fine. Just park a few blocks away and walk - I actually found a street spot about a block away! There is street parking one street over. Also - there is no sign! I'm sure that is in the works, but you have to know vaguely where it is to not walk past it. The positives - everything else! What a cool, modern industrial interior they had. Natural wood tables with iron pipe legs, white subway tile walls with a chalkboard menu, wooden ceiling with industrial pendant lights, concrete floors and huge windows that open on to the street. I wish my house looked like this place! Draft beer selection was great, bartender was super friendly and even talked with my husband about ordering kegs for him. The bottle selection looked a little smaller than other bottle shops, but still plenty of variety. No coolers of bottled beer yet - not sure if they're adding that. Plenty of room - it's a really good sized space. The place was filled with a mix of families, couple of all ages, friends, babies and dogs. Windows were open on a sunny day, and it really could not have been a more relaxed, welcoming environment. Pharmacy is 4 minutes from my house, which is dangerous. Can't wait to go back! read more

Edit: I've been back to Pharmacy a number of times and they've addressed my two issues, so bumping it from 4 to 5 stars. I also really like a lot of the events and tap takeovers they've been doing! Pharmacy is basically the only beer bar in downtown Cary, but they are doing a great job and have a cool space with good beers. I do have a minor quibble: Put prices on bottles! I know their stock rotates out quickly, but other bottle shops label theirs and given how much craft beer prices can vary, it'd be nice if there were prices. We come here often, as it is close to our house, but generally get beer on draft. They usually have ~15 beers on draft and I can generally always find something I'm interested in. I will say, I wish they had less drafts that were non-NC (they also occasionally have a non-craft draft like Terrapin, etc which is not great), but the vast majority are usually local. All drafts are $5.50, so prices are pretty reasonable. Don't forget to check out the back patio as well, it's pretty nice! read more

Great relaximg atmosphere. Not your typical bar. It's very laid back and progressive. A wonderful place to meet friends or coworkers. I love that it is an intelligent environment. So many beers to try. I love the Omission light gluten free beer. read more

Such a cool place to grab some drinks with friends! I came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. It was relatively empty, but we were served quickly! I ordered their blueberry cider since I don't particularly like beer, but it was super good! It wasn't overly sweet, but instead, it began with sweetness and ended with tartness. My boyfriend enjoyed his drinks! But the best part was the price. A 16oz pour for $5.50?!?! That can't be beat. We'll definitely be back especially since you can bring your own food inside! read more

As a resident of "downtown" Cary I have been watching the progress of Pharmacy and eagerly anticipating its opening. I stopped in yesterday and was not disappointed. The selection is decent and will likely expand/improve, the feel is great and the owners are friendly. A welcome addition to the 'hood. read more

This is my favorite bottle shop. The Bartenders (especially Caitrin and Carter) are excellent -- very courteous service and always ready with a recommendation when I'm feeling indecisive. Chill vibe, great prices, excellent place to work remotely or just relax after a day of dealing with life. read more

Pharmacy Bottle + Beverage - Cheers! - Beer Bar Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

We have been here a couple of times and really like it. During Chatham chowdown they even have a table outside to sell ice cold cans. (or did the last time we went to a chowdown) Just here over the weekend and the outside seating, tap selection and service make this a win. We had some that sampled the bottle beer selection and were happy with the selection and their choices. For me having a cider on tap was very nice and we will absolutely come back. read more

This place is awesome. Not awesome like cathedral ceilings, hipster ambience, or loud music. Awesome like great beer (with a menu that changes weekly and could probably be influenced by your input if you get to know Ty), nice wooden tables, and indoor/outdoor seating perfect for lazy afternoons on weekends or happy hour. I love the beer glasses too, actually. They are shaped like Coke cans. Trust me. Go grab you one (full of craft IPA, obvi). One of my favorites. So glad it's in Cary. read more

Great selection on tap. I've seen larger bottle selections but it looks like they are just starting up. It's a pretty decent size and they have huge front windows that open which will be great for warm weather. Their beer glasses are interesting. My biggest gripe is they have no parking. read more

Love this place. Rotating taps plus a bunch of different beers on the shelf as well as in a cooler. Plus if you wanna buy a single and drink it there they will pour it for you. People are nice and service is excellent. Keep up the good work! read more

Rude Service. My Wife and I WERE regulars at the Pharmacy in the past, that will not be the case in the future. We went there tonight; Friday October 6. There were two bartenders working; a woman and a man. The woman as usual, was delightful. The man was not. We ordered another round, at this point there was a bit of Wine left in her glass, he emptied the bottle. Unfortunately, what was left was not even a regular pour, especially considering there was some in the glass. We politely mentioned this and he disagreed in a disrespectful manner. Not only is the customer not always right at the Pharmacy, I guess the customer is never right at the Pharmacy and deserves to be argued with by this rude douche. My opinion is that he was too lazy to open a new bottle. Horrible service and this will be remembered! Don't patronize this place, This guy needs to go. read more

I love this place! It's a fun little place in downtown Cary to grab a beer and hang out with your friends. I love that they rotate beers on tap. I'm able to try a lot of new beers. I really love the atmosphere and the bartenders are really friendly. They are great at making recommendations. It's one of my new favorite spots to go. There is ample seating and the acoustics are great. It's not too loud. I plan to keep going there in the future! read more

Amazing selection of local and national brews. The cork fee gets ya, though. I thought I was coming out ahead ordering from the fridge, but I ended up paying $1.50 extra for each beer from the cooler. I love the proximity to local restaurants. I can't wait to return and sample their draft selection. read more

Wow. Amazing place. When my friend suggested it I was excited to try and it didn't disappoint. I was only here for one drink but I already want to return. I cannot believe I've never been here before and when I return home in the future, I'm sure to revisit. The staff: super friendly. The bartender was nice and helped me find a cider I would like. Plus I didn't wait long to be served. I definitely gave a good tip for this awesome bartender. The location: downtown Cary was perfect! I never realized how awesome the area was until then. A bit hard to find parking but worth it and not the Pharmacy's fault. Give yourself a few minutes if you're meeting a friend. The place itself: absolutely great! I was able to choose my cider from the fridge, pay for it, and go sit outside with my friend. The place has a great layout and I love how you can just go pick up your bottled beer or wine and pay for it. Prices: I can only speak on what I got, but it was pretty cheap compared to the same item at other places. Overall: a must come to! I will be returning in the future! Plus: they hold events. read more

I love this place. Tyler and the gang are terrific. Greta beer on tap and an excellent wine selection. A real gem in Downtown Cary! read more

The bottle selection continues to grow, they always have something I've been wanting to try both on tap and in bottles. We've found ourselves stopping on to just grab a couple bottles of beer whenever we're driving by on our way home. read more

If you are going to drink in downtown Cary, then this is the place to be. They typically have an affordable variety of beers on draft (aka not just IPAs or Porters) and they have a great selection of cold cans/bottles. I have always enjoyed the crowd and never had any problems with people being too drunk or annoying. If you want a place to lounge on the weekend and have some good booze, this is your spot. Service is always friendly and quick and you can bring your four legged canine friends too (always a good thing). read more

I got there at 6:30 this Sunday and was told last call was done. It closes at 7:00 on Sundays. The guy behind the bar was very nasty about it. When I asked his name he said he was the owner. Some dude making 8 bucks an hour I get trying to get out of there as early as possible but the owner? The beer selection was poor and the prices high. read more

This place is awesome, great drinks and such a bargain if you get them from the cooler. Only thing that would make it better would be a collection of games, like battleship! read more

Great place but seriously, you close at 9pm and stop serving at 8:45pm. We showed up at 8:45 and couldn't get a draft. I love the place but very disappointed. read more

I live just a few miles down the road from Pharmacy and it takes so much restraint for me not to drop by every day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and they have a really nice selection of beer on tap as well as in bottles. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, and I really love their emphasis on NC beer. If you're a craft beer fan, you should definitely check this place out. Go on a weekend for the full hoppin' joint experience, or on a weekday afternoon for a more low-key hang. read more

Great friendly atmosphere. Large selection of beer. I came in around lunchtime during the weekday and they are about 4-5 different groups here including a family with 2 Young's kids. You can bring in your own food because no food is served here. Decor is wearhouse like with exposed ducts. Very relaxed atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi only 2 takes are near outlets. read more

I am thrilled to have a great place to try new beers and get a pint or a few bottles that you don't find in the grocery beer aisle. The owner is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his beer. The place is clean and spacious, the white subway tile and edison lamps are a really nice design touch. They allow dogs and outside food. They will someday soon be able to fill your growlers. read more

My boyfriend and I love coming to Pharmacy for a drink. The beer selection on tap is always good. Thy have a variety of styles and if you don't like beer they have some decent wine too. The staff are always friendly and helpful with suggestions. What's best is they allow dogs! Our dog loves coming here with us, especially because they have dog treats readily available for him. I recommend making a trip down here, you won't be disappointed! read more

I give Pharmacy five stars because I believe in perfection and this is the perfect place to get a brew, buy brews or taste some really good, reasonably priced wine. Tyler is the owner and he really knows his beer and wine. They also allow you to bring in your own food (Crosstown Pub) and bring in your dogs. Heaven on Earth! read more

Went here for the first time from all the way in North Raleigh, all excited. Credit card machine was not working, cash only. I didn't have any cash. Nice addition to downtown Cary. Great staff, good selection of beer on tap and in the coolers. Is dog friendly and a great place to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Knowledgeable staff and finely cultivated draught list, updated daily!

This place is awesome and always a crowd pleaser as you can find a drink for just about anyone in this relaxed, modern bottle shop. There are a variety of fresh beers to enjoy both on tap and in the fridge, and wine is available if beer isn't your thing. When we're done, my husband usually makes his own mixed pack to take home from their non-chilled section. Outside food is allowed but they do sell pimento cheese and hot dogs grilled out back (on certain days). read more

Great atmosphere. Bartenders are amazing. Excellent selection of draft local beers. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have huge fridges with bottled beer you can drink in addition to the draft beer. This is a great place! A few notes about the design: the white tile wall where the taps are don't fit the rustic decor and the fans are too modern. The space behind the bar is too wide to fit the building, but there's still enough table space and room to hang out. Overall, this is a great place to hang out and enjoy great beer. By far the best beer shop I've been to!! read more

This place is such a great little gem in downtown Cary. As other reviews have said, the parking is a bit of a challenge. However, it's definitely worth it. They have a great selection of beers on tap (which is saying a lot, because I'm a picky beer drinker), and they have a decent selection of bottled beers. They even have a cooler of bottled beers if one of the taps doesn't suit you. The bartender is great, very friendly. The pint glasses are awesome and unique - we bought 2 to take home. Next step is serving some snacks! read more
