Finally tried the Raleigh location. It is way more mainstream than the other location in Durram. The food here though I can actually say is way better but you don't get the outside on beyond you do in Durram. The servers are great! They have dollar wings on Sunday you can't beat that. The coolest part about this establishment is the fossils that hang above you while you drink and eat! definitely definitely get the lamb pizza! And did I mention they have dollar wings? that are actually good and crispy and not soggy???!!!
If you're heading to Raleigh Iron Works and think Ponysaurus is just another brewery, think again. The Chicken Schnitzel completely exceeded my expectations. The chicken was perfectly crispy, thin, and juicy, while the fresh arugula salad added just the right peppery bite. The roasted fingerling potatoes were seasoned perfectly and rounded out a simple dish executed exceptionally well. Ponysaurus Brewing Co. serves the schnitzel with arugula, fried red potatoes, celery, red onion, parsley, and a whole-grain dressing, and it all comes together beautifully. Of course, the craft beer selection is what gets you in the door, but don't overlook the kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service was friendly, and the food easily holds its own against many restaurants in Raleigh.
We went to the Oktoberfest to see the wiener dog race, but it was so crowded we couldn't see anything. We decided to grab a beer and something to eat. I did like that they were serving beer outside but that line was so long! I needed going inside and placed the order for beer went back out and my friend was still 10 people back waiting to be served. After we walked around to check the different restaurants we chose Ponysaurus. Let me tell you how to do it, because no one shared it with Mez I'm not sure if they are always this crowded but we were waiting in line( thinking to be seated) come to find out it's first come, first served. We grabbed a table, and we were waiting when a lady came up and asked if we need anything. We informed her we had an open tab from earlier and could we order and just add to tab. She said yes, and then disappeared. We saw the QR code on the table and figured we must have to order from there. Which means we could not add to current tab. We ordered the Caesar salad, burger and fries, broccoli and the chicken schnitzel salad. The place is nice, I heard they have an upstairs but it had been booked for a wedding shower or something. They also have outside seating, but the inside downstairs was maybe 4 booths and 8 tables. A lot of people were standing and eating.the food arrived fast, I didn't care for the chicken schnitzel in the salad, it needed more seasoning. The burger was good, the fries are curly fries, I'm not a big fan of those either, but it does come with a lemon aioli that was good. Since I asked for mayo on the side I used the aioli on my burger. The Caesar salad is romaine lettuce it on fours, and it was okay. The best thing was the broccoli! Next time I would tell them to put the little sauce on the side, or no sauce at all. It's a nice place for drinks, and maybe an appetizer. When we were ready to leave, I went to the bar to get a box for the food and they pointed to the shelf where you help yourself. It's pretty much a self service place.
Don't let the name fool you! This is an awesome place. There seemed to be a lot of locals possibly from the residences above. A dog friendly outdoor space which is always a plus for dog lovers. They do have a food menu but we just made a quick stop for a beer. The pizzas looked delish. The staff was super nice and they were all super attentive. The bartender really took her time to talk through their beer selection making sure we picked the perfect pint. Would highly recommend putting Ponysaurus on your brewery to do list in Raleigh.
Meet some friends at Ponysaurus one night and liked it so much we took family who were visiting from out of town a few weeks later. I've also been to the Durham location, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a very cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Raleigh location has a smaller footprint and doesn't have the same outdoor patio vibe. The dinning area is a bit small but turn around is quick and there is plenty of space to stand and socialize if you're just there for the beer. I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. The Raleigh location menu has lots to choose from, we had a margarita pizza with pepperoni, hummus and wings. I can't recall what was in the hummus but we practically licked the bowl and the wings were a big hit too - note the Durham menu is a bit scaled down but one thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus. There is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park - plenty of WARM pita for everyone. Service was great, we did't wait long and the tables were turned over quickly. They use a mobile app for ordering food which makes ordering fast and efficient and the food is delivered to your table - which I must note came out very fast.
The service here was great! The staff checked in often and ensured all our questions were answered. I enjoyed the blueberry slushies here. This is hands down a great spot to enjoy on a warm afternoon. The buffalo chicken pizza was decent but not something I'd run back to get. The chicken on the pizza could have been better.
I picked Ponysaurus to try because of the location, fun name, and they had food. I was not disappointed! Easy parking in outdoor lots (but it was super hot) or in the covered (free midday on a Thursday) garage. I tried a flight of beer, and was intrigued by the frozen options. Very inventive food menu; I tried the mushroom with asparagus and happy with my choice! Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere for some me time or a group.
Absolutely recommend this place to dine in!! When you come in it's an open seating environment and even at the bar as well. You will need to scan the QR code to place orders where you are sitting but can also order at the bar as well. The service was very quick! Our food came out hot and fresh and the staff were simply amazing. They asked if we needed anything and were very hands on with cleaning the restaurant as well. I have no complaints and will definitely be back. (Parking is nearby in a garage)
We were here for my bday celebration. We wanted a no wait, and an easy peasy lemon squeezy place for pizza and beer, and that's exactly how ponysaurus at Raleigh turned out to be. It was busy and lively but there was ample of space with help yourself seating. They have an outdoor seating too, with an amazing open area outside with multiple other restaurants and businesses. Food order was through their online menu which was an easy scan of the QR code on the table and drinks menu was taken by one of the server staffs. We ordered beer, coke and juice which were all good. For food we ordered their buffalo wings, garden pizza and hummus and pita. There is not much option for wings flavor but the buffalo wings were good, they were fried not grilled which I don't like much. Hummus was a little too experimental so tasted different from a usual normal hummus, but was good. Pizza was thin crust wood fired with fresh toppings and tasted amazing. Definitely a cool friends to hangout with friends and family.
Nice spot for a relaxing drink! Came here after Brodeto and got a couple glasses of bubbles - appreciate the price point compared to dinner. Friendly service, even able to order while sitting outside when the bussers stopped by. Good indoor/outdoor seating available, great location underneath the new Forge apartments and close to the climbing gym. @azfitfoodfun
Visited Ponysaurus Brewing and it was packed when we arrived -- and stayed that way all the way until closing, which says a lot about how popular this place is. The space itself is lovely with a great vibe, making it an awesome spot to hang out. They have a solid selection of beers along with a good food menu. I sampled a few beers as part of a flight and really enjoyed them. Standouts for me were the Ponysaurus Off-Dry NC Cider, DBMTP (Don't Be Mean to People: A Golden Rule Saison), and the Mango Guava Wit -- all flavorful and well crafted. For food, we ordered the hot chicken buffalo wings and fried Brussels sprouts, both of which were tasty. The absolute highlight on the food side, though, was the curly fries -- crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly addictive. They also have a wide variety of pizzas on the menu, which are definitely on my list to try next time. Overall, a fantastic brewery with great beer, satisfying food, and an energetic atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
Really good! Came here before going to a concert close by at the Ritz. It was crowded but we were able to get a table upstairs. We ordered drinks at the bar like the instructions said, but they did end up having a server that was working upstairs to help with drink orders. We ordered our food on our phones, and service was fast. The artichoke pizza and Brussels sprouts were both really good!
First time coming here even though I'm familiar with the shopping center , was able to get served quickly so I tried the flight which came with 4 flight size beers. I chose 1 cider, 2 sours and a weisse. I thought it was plentiful and the presentation was cute. My group sat upstairs where it was more seating and they also had a server up there to take drink orders. Would try this place again.

Beer lovers will be happy to know that Ponysaurus Brewing is now open at Raleigh Iron Works! With locations in Durham and Wilmington, it was great to see this excellent brewery open up closer to my home base. Ponysaurus has a brand new space that's quirky and industrial. Concrete floors, booths, a large bar in back, you order food online (QR code) with ToastTab and order your drinks (beer, cocktails, wine) at the bar separately. Your food is brought out to your location based on the QR code. The menu features pizza, sandwiches, appetizers along with a handful of desserts. Service was solid on my opening day visit, I'm already looking forward to visit #2! read more

What a fun space! We didn't eat but the food smelled delish-we only grabbed drinks. They do provide plastic cups if you'd like to walk around outdoors, so that's what we did. We loved the Christmas lights and the general ambiance. There seemed to be plenty of staff to ensure all needs were met. We'll return! read more

Thought I left a review here but only been here 3 times and ngl food here is mid and overpriced. First time I got pepperoni pizza and tasted horrible. And the burger here is a solid 5/10. I will say their curly fries are pretty good. If I were to come it would be cause of there drinks or just to hangout. If any elderly come her be prepared to take your phone out and scan the menu to order. read more

We stopped here after a soccer game and saw the reviews. It is so good. The location isn't the best to access when you've never been here before but we figured it after a couple of circles haha. The atmosphere is great, good music, TVs playing games today. The food was perfection. The crust is simple but crispy and so good. The sauce isn't overpowering. The cheese was plenty and the pepperoni cupped perfectly. We loved it. It. And out fast and hot. Service is decent since it's mostly on your own, order from your table via phone and at the bar for drinks. read more

Great spot for a weekend night! The pizza and fried chicken sandwich were amazing! Highly recommend. Their beer is also great! This is definitely a loud, hopping' place. Parking is easy since it's in the complex. Waiters were extremely helpful and nice. You do order food through your phone and that's the only way to order so just be aware of that. Very fun spot! read more

Ponysaurus Brewing is located on the backside of Ironworks Raleigh. The setup is efficient and modern--you order beer at the bar and food from your table using a digital menu on your phone, with food delivered straight to your table. They also have convenient self-serve stations for utensils and water. We tried the pizza and mussels, and both were excellent. The sourdough bread served with the mussels was especially delicious. They also offer a wide variety of beers on draft, plus a full bar with a few fun cocktails and frozen drink options. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for great food, drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. read more

Food was phenomenal! My complaint is about the environment...my sister was here a few months ago with my neice and questioned why only the women's restroom was labeled as being gender neutral. She was told 'ohhh it was on both but it must have fallen off.' Today I was back with my neice and said sign had not replaced. In an attempt to see how the sign 'fell off' I checked the one on the men's room door and it might as well have been screwed onto the door....so my question is, why is this ok to make just one gender's restroom 'gender neutral' ? They could not answer the question...they made up a blatant lie. read more

Love this brewery! There is free parking along the sides of Iron Works or in the garage. If you just want drinks, you can walk up to the bar and order. There are tons of beer on tap, as well as frozen cocktails, wine, and regular bar menu. As for ordering food, all tables have a QR code to scan which notes the table number and someone will bring your food out to you that way. My table ordered the burger, a pepperoni pizza, and the chicken wings. All the food was delicious! I would highly recommend this place. read more

Raleigh Iron Works has recently welcomed Ponysaurus with this location focused on sour and barrel-aged beers. The brewery has a life-size ponysaurus statue and a two-story barrel room. Please note if the downstairs and outside are packed, there is a whole 2nd level of seating. We ran into that on a Sunday evening. The menu includes a variety of pizzas, salads, & starters contributing to a lively dining and drinking experience. This is a great new addition to Raleigh's food and beer scene. You order beverages at the bar and food using a QR code at your table which means you will have 2 tabs. You also bus your own table at the stations on each level. Love the use of the San Marzano can for the pizza holder! read more
The pizza was excellent. You pretty much place your own order at the table online and they bring it out to you but there is self serve water and condiments. The brewing silo and bar give it a craft brewery feel but it's inside a residential building. There is a life sized skeleton of a ponysaurus in the middle of the dining area which is overlooked by a second story seating area. I couldn't help think it would be an interesting venue for a concert. read more
I have been here a few times now, they have a good beer selection, a decent food menu, and great atmosphere! I love their buffalo wings - they are small but they are very delicious! They have upstairs, downstairs and outside seating on patio benches. Parking is very easy as they have a giant parking garage along with additional parking as well right on the premises. I definitely will be returning! read more

We came here to enjoy an afternoon. We had some beers on tap and shared the burger. The burger was delicious. The fries were amazing too! I really enjoyed the beer I had. My husband is more of a cocktail guy so he was disappointed at their cocktail menu. Other than that, this place is fantastic! I'll be back. read more
Brand new place, absolutely packed on a Friday night. They have a pretty cool ordering system for food with QR codes but it was absolute chaos and I never got my food when I had to shuffle spots at the stand up tables. Fortunately the management was awesome and apologetic and offered a discounted pizza. Great service as they try to figure out the crowd situation. Well done. The beer was good despite the slow service. The pizza however we need to talk about... It was absolutely delicious. The pizza HAS no business being this amazing at a brewery. We got a margarita pie and it was so incredible that we ordered a late night meatball one instead of heading elsewhere. Both were eye opening. One of the best pizzas I've had in awhile and I know good pizza. Shoutout the management and pizza chef. I'm rooting for you guys to be successful! read more

Does anyone know if the Raleigh location allows dogs? There's no phone number on their website and the Durham location doesn't answer their phone.
I'm not 100% sure but usually if food is served, no dogs are allowed inside. Maybe the patio?
