Veggie pizza. So amazing!
Kori M.

I had every intention of taking more photos of our pizza but I was so hungry and it smelled and looked heavenly, so I was almost done eating by the time I remembered to take a picture - sorry! The pizza is SO GOOD. We got single servings of the veggie pizza and loved everything about it. It's definitely a thicker crusted pizza with a bottom that tastes like it's cooked in a deep dish pan. The cheese was super thick and seemed like big slices rather than shredded cheese, so delicious! The veggies were the star of the show as they just tasted super fresh and had a nice crunch to them. And the sourdough crust just tasted clean and soft, similar to mellow mushroom but way better. Great friendly service was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back!

We came to Boxyard RTP with high expectations, partly because this place fell so low on my rating. It is the only place currently to get draft beer, some of which is decent. The pizza sounded good but was overpriced for what you got. There was also a pourer that had a nasty attitude and should be working in a non-customer service-related industry, this woman and the pizza really brought down the experience and my bill for two pizzas and five beers for the group I was with was over $100. I know when I come back to Boxyard RTP, this is NOT going to be the pace for food and beer I will choose.

Slow Burn. Made with their house-made ginger beer and pepper vodka. Not too burny, very tasty!

For a speedy square and a great cocktail, this is a fine place to eat. Service is fast and friendly. If it's windy, inside is a great option. But food and drink is not the real tea you're at Boxyard, is it? Go chat with your friends. They're here if you need them.

Fullsteam's a new name in the area, and their drink selection doesn't disappoint. They serve thick-cut flatbread pizzas. My favorite beer is the Paycheck. Get one when you get paid; it's an easy drink. Celebrate the newly arrived provisions. Fullsteam is the flagship spot here at the Boxyard, an outdoor food court created from repurposed shipping containers. I like the idea of giving old things new lives. Come enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company. There's ample outdoor seating on the covered patio. I happened to come on a day that they had live music. Bonus!

Great to see an old Durham standby expand to a new location, Fullsteam RTP is now open at Boxyard! The anchor tenant for Boxyard RTP, Fullsteam is a substantial and modern location covering 9 shipping containers. They've done a great job inside with some light and bright paint, modern light fixtures and a large kitchen. Starting 11/9, they'll be serving up a thick-slice pizza so you'll have some eats with your brews. Above the first floor bar is their private events space good for 20 to 200 people, hence the large kitchen. Overall it looks like it will be a fun spot in warmer weather but stop on by now to take a look!

The G.O.A.T pizza

We found out about Fullsteam mostly because we were excited to check out Boxyard RTP for the first time. I got a glass of Lambrusco and my husband got a hazy IPA. We both really enjoyed them and they went well with our pizza. We split a square G.O.A.T pizza which had a roasted garlic base, mozzarella, Goat Lady dairy chevre, and caramelized onions. It was good, but pricey for a pizza and was pretty sparse on top, hence the 4 stars. I also wish they used less single-use disposable plates and cups, but that might have been because all of the places at Boxyard use them for convenience. Overall though, solid spot to grab a drink and enjoy Boxyard's atmosphere and live music.

This will be a quick review because it's about their beverage service, not a meal. We're familiar with their original location in Durham and happened to stop by on a Saturday evening while they had entertainment in Boxyard courtyard area. It seems they have one line for drinks only, and another line if you want to order food. I ordered a beer, picked it up, and took it outside to enjoy. The place was very busy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. We'll have to come back when it's less crowded and order something to eat.

Beer was good, but the service was lacking. Very grouchy lady serving the beer. We asked for tastings of the beer and it seemed to be looked down on to even ask. Pizza was so expensive at $26 a pizza and not good at all! Yuk. Tasted like little Caesars. We had a big group of friends and no one liked the pizza.

Fullsteam has a location inside of Boxyard RTP now. They have a small selection of beer and food. The food items consist of snacks, salads and square pizzas. I got a Rocket Science IPA and enjoyed it outside. I can't wait to return to try more beers and the pizza.

Ceaser Salad from Fullsteam

I enjoyed stopping by the Fullsteam at Boxyard RTP for lunch one recent workday. I ordered a Caesar Salad and a canned Diet Pepsi. The salad was a pretty big one for lunch. It didn't seem to have much dressing, though, and maybe two croutons. Not sure if this is the standard for Caesars at Fullsteam, or if I got the corner of a bigger salad mix. Still, less dressing and fewer croutons made it healthier for me, right?!

Finally went to Boxyard RTP. The courtyard was completely packed at 7PM on a Wednesday. Fullsteam offers square pizza. They are 6 thick slices and they have about 10 varieties along with slices. They give you a number and ask that you sit inside or near them in the courtyard for delivery. I will tell you if there are only 2 of you, the 2nd level has a ton of seating and you could always wait on your food and then head up the stairs. This is a super cool idea for a food hall and Fullsteam offers all of their beer varieties, but there is also a cocktail bar-Lagoon-and a wine bar on Premises if this is more your thing. The pizza was ooey gooey cheesy and came out piping hot. You get your own paper plates and to-go containers and they have a water station.

I've been to Fullsteam in downtown but this was my first time to their location at Boxyard. I was here for a work event so I was excited to try their pizza. For a thicker crust pizza, I didn't really expect the crust to be crispy but it surprisingly was. I really enjoyed it. Also can't go wrong with any of their beers. I got a NC Mule and it was super refreshing and delicious! Can't wait to come back!

Fullsteam is finally open at Boxyard and I'm so glad!! I've been watching for updates for this spot for a while and dragged my work team out for a happy hour :) I just love Boxyard in general. It is a really cool concept that allows something for everyone. This Fullsteam location is great - it's surprisingly spacious on the inside - lots of seating - could push tables together for a group or even bring a laptop and sit in the booths. And then tons outside in the main area. The beer selection is the perfect variety of beer types - I got the Rock Science IPA, which I'd had before and is good! I also tried the Carver which was interesting and I enjoyed it! I also love that they're doing food here - I didn't get to try any of the pizza on this trip, but I definitely will on the next one.

So one Sunday morning when I got done watching my nephew play hockey, I decided to take a detour on the way home and stop here. I got there right as they opened and was the only one there besides the bartender. He was super enthusiastic and helpful and got me set up with the flight right away. I went and sat in the room with all of the steel brewing barrels. I nibbled on chocolate and sipped my beer as I looked around at all the interesting things. Right when you walk in the front door, there is an amazing bottle shop or selection of local beer. It was really quite amazing and much larger than the selection at the downtown location. Completely understandable since they have a lot more space here. The bar was nice and had really neat lit up menus with a lot of beers on tap. They also had two separate indoor seating areas that looked like they could sit quite a few people. It was chilly in February so I did not venture into the outdoor area behind the building. I'll have to try that if I come back. My most favorite thing about The Glass Jug are their specialty flights. I got the Girl Scout cookie flight last year and this year, which is a cookie paired with a beer, and I really enjoyed that. I actually had a Valentine's Day flight at the downtown location last year, but it did not come with chocolate. This year, the one with chocolate, was the best flight ever!!! It was absolute amazing. So now whenever I hear that they have a specialty flight, especially with chocolate or cookies, I will be making an effort to come back to visit. So much fun!

There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and everything felt clean and well taken care of. We also shared a small bite, which came out quickly and paired nicely with the drinks. What really stood out was the friendly energy -- everyone seemed to be having a good time, and the service felt genuine and attentive without being overbearing. It's the kind of spot that feels both local and welcoming to visitors. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're nearby. I think the buffalo sauce and Cole slaw saved it because the chicken didn't have much of a taste either. I ordered fries originally but they delivered potatoes to me. The server that delivered the food quickly put in an order for fries to fix the first servers error and I'm glad he did. The fries saved the meal. They were cooked perfectly and hot. I'd come back here for the fries for sure. After we got our food, the servers just forgot about us and another customer that had been there for about the same amount of time that we had. We were in the restaurant another 15 minutes trying to get the attention of a server to come give us our check. The original server never came back even though we could see him at a register near the kitchen. The new server had to ask us what our order was and ring us out under her name because our original server was doing something else nearby and not being helpful to us.

They don't take reservations, so you wait in a queue to order at the counter. (Clipboards with menus are available throughout the line.) Once you order, you are given a number and can seat yourself either indoors or outdoors. We asked for appetizers first and received our bread service and brezels very quickly. The range of breads and the beautifully salted butter were a crowd favorite, while a pickier member of our party focused in on the delicious pretzels. I also received my drink, the seasonal Hugo Rose, at the same time - it was so light and refreshing & the perfect complement to a spring evening. Soon after we finished our appetizers, our plates were cleared and food was brought to the table. Two of our party ordered the schnitzel, an absolutely massive portion of perfectly breaded meat. Two more ordered the grilled bratwurst sandwich, which was absolutely spectacular both with and without sauerkraut. Finally, we tried their pigs in a blanket. Everything was beautifully prepared, warm, and delicious, not to mention generously portioned. While it took me a while to finally make it to the restaurant, I won't go so long without it again. I still love the fruit tart - good texture and mix of sweet and slightly tart. The macaron and elephant ear was pretty good. The macaron had good flavor and texture. I know they make their pastries fresh every day but on a busy Saturday at 10:30 am, the eclair dough didn't taste fresh and was not as light and airy as I hoped. Cream puff was ok. The dough was also meh. BUT the focaccia was amazing!! It was on-sale day old bread but had great flavor and was soft on the inside and slightly crispy in the outside. All in all, for what's in the area and restaurant's atmosphere, it's still worth the trip.
