What I recommend: The spicy vodka pizza or the brisket pizza Hutchins Garage is one of my favorite pizza spots in Durham. They serve up some of the most unique and creative pizzas in town, and the flavors never miss. The spicy vodka pizza and brisket pizza are both incredible and easily two of the best things on the menu. The beer is always cold, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is some of the friendliest you'll meet. This is the kind of place you go when you want something a little different that still feels familiar. The pizzas are wacky in the best way and will absolutely blow your taste buds away. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it perfect for any night out. Always a 10 out of 10 for me.

Really not sure HOW this pizza place has such high ratings on Yelp- huge letdown for me. Ordered the spicy vodka pizza (with bacon instead of ham), and thought the entire pizza was a mess. Dripping in grease, with a pie crust SO thin you couldn't hold a slice without folding it in half. The dough was so thin it was actually see-through. Definitely would not return back, threw out 75% of the pizza. Wanted to like the place more than I did because they have a really cool outdoor area (and they're close to my apartment). $50 is too much for 2 pizzas that aren't incredible.

Had another great lunch at Hutchins! I will always order the brisket pizza because it's so delicious. Casual ambiance with GREAT music playing (all 80s). It's an order from a QR code place now so you don't interact with the staff much at all. Great lunch!

This is a great place to grab a beer or a cocktail before heading to a show at Motorco!! Park once and head to dinner followed by a concert. They always have an interesting mix of beers on draft and if that's not for you they have a full bar and an interesting list of cocktails to choose from. Their pizza is always bomb! Get the Grandma's pizza and top it however you like! We always sit at the bar and get the best service!

Pizza served out a garage with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was also pretty packed so I'm glad we ordered our pies online and picked up. It took around 22 minutes to be ready. They have a bar too to sip while you wait. You do have to find parking on the street which may be hard around that area with all the bars but the walk isn't too bad. Sadly the grandma pie wasn't available and that's what we really came for. Instead we got a the vodka pie, hot honey pie, and margherita with half sausage and pepperoni. The vodka pie is not vodka at all. It tasted like there was no vodka sauce on it. Just more of a spicy cheese pizza because the peppers on it definitely had some heat to it. I also said no ham and sausage when ordering because it comes on that pie. If you can't take spicy food you might want to remove the fresno chilli. It was good but wish it had more vodka sauce. My boyfriend loved the hot honey pie and said it was great. He modified it as well and took off the ham but kept the pepperoni. He enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately, they made the margherita half sausage and half pepperoni, instead of half sausage and pepperoni and half cheese like we asked so I wasn't able to eat it. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of this pie though. I would come back to try the brisket and hopefully have the grandma pie!

Came in without a reservation on a Saturday night and was promptly seated. Pizza was pretty good and came out quickly! Very small parking lot so may have to walk a little.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza for takeout - delicious crispy thin crust that worked well with the sauce and toppings. Loved the fresh basil. Service was excellent and pizza was as ready a few minutes before promised! Would definitely recommend and next time I'll try one of their unique flavors.

This spot was such a fun, good vibe with bistro lights (sucker for the lights!). We sat on the picnic table outside which fit a family of 7 perfectly. I love the inventive take on pizzas with cool toppings like fried chicken and brisket. I wish the fried chicken was crispier, but overall a solid slice of pizza. We ordered the Pilsner which was the perfect refreshing sip with the pizza. As my 8 year old niece, Bella says: Good food!Good employees!good vibes!good everything! Bathroom pretty!

Ambiance is laidback, great spot to unwind. During summer it does feel a bit warm inside but the ventilation helps. Food is fresh, you can tell in the ingredients. I also liked how we can order using our phones, it didn't make the service any less attentive. I recommend the hot honey pizza, it does have a spicy kick.

Hubby and I were visiting his brother and our sister in law in Durham. On a Saturday night, we were all craving pizza. We decided to check out Hutchins Garage. Yelp reviews and photos looked strong but it was even better than we expected! Ordering was easy using a QR code on the table. Our food and drinks came out very fast. We ordered a grandma's pie with sausage and a classic pepperoni. The grandma's pie was thinner than expected, good amount of crust without being bready. The sausage was so fresh and flavorful. The large slices of fresh mozzarella were delicious! The crust on the classic pepperoni was so thin and crispy without being crunchy and cracker like. The sauce was tangy and delicious. The cheese was absolute perfection. Good amount of pepperoni slices and tasty fresh basil. Both pizzas were phenomenal! I foresee us stopping in next time we're in Durham.

Finally visited here after several recommendations from friends, and I have to agree with them--this place really lives up to the hype! I enjoyed the creative toppings they offer and the slightly doughy texture. The brisket pizza had tenderly made brisket and a strong blue cheese profile--if you are a fan of potent cheese, this is for you. We were told to seat ourselves, and the service was really quick. It's a casual and fun spot, but not too loud--a great place to hang out with a small group of friends or relax in their outdoor space with a couple of beers (which they had quite some good local beer options on tap). I look forward to returning and trying more pizzas - maybe my favorite durham pizza by far!

What a hidden gem! I've lived in Durham for 7 years and never knew this existed! We came here with some friends and split a bunch of pizzas. We started with the burrata app and it was so good! We tried the honey hot, peach and bacon, pepperoni, and kale and fennel pizzas. Everything was so good! I will say the things that said they had spicy items on it did have a bit of kick but all were very good. I love the QR ordering system where you place your order on the app and they bring the pizzas out to you instead of having a server take orders. Plenty of space inside and good outdoor areas. 10/10 will def be back!

Our waitress came over and was so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. I cannot wait to bring my uncle back to enjoy some new bourbons. I started with a Wake Up Holland and my aunt had a chocolate martini (not on the menu but the bartender understood the assignment!) Wake Up Holland is 100% worth the hype. I LOVED IT. But since I was worried about the caffiene, I tried The Smoking Jacket next. It wasn't really my favorite...it tasted like a campfire which I know some people enjoy but it wasn't my jam. The waitress was very astute and mentioned that they could make the Wake Up Holland in decaf and I rejoiced!!! And ended the evening with that. The service, ambiance, and drinks were all stellar and I cannot wait to return to this establishment!
