The pig's head in a thick fried crust

Really interesting process to get a table, you cannot call ahead and make reservations. You walk up at 4:30 and in theory can make reservations for a later time that night... except when we asked for 6:30, they told us they really only had two seatings, 5 and 7:30ish. We ended up just staying, and they bring parties in one at a time starting exactly at five. I guess it's part of the shtick, but that's what lost a star for me. Getting someplace at 4:30 only to wait 45 minutes wasn't ideal. That said, the service was wonderful, and the decor is great, though, it's so dimly lit inside, you don't get the full benefit. We loved the men u and the food was overall outstanding. I was a little disappointed in the pig's head, but, to be fair, my husband thought it was great. The fried oysters were perfectly cooked. The grilled sweet breads were to die for and I've never had them anything but fried before. SO good.

Celebrated our anniversary with a first time visit to Stanbury. Our server was amazing Love the vibe here. We started off with cocktails, Out in the Sticks and Dance Alone. Both were good, and served quickly. For apps, we had the bread and little gem salad, and enjoyed both. The butter was the star! For dinner, I had tagliatelle (not a fan of this version) and husband had the steak - Best Ribeye in Raleigh, hands down! We ended with the Chocolate Torte, which I was pleasantly surprised with since I'm not an Escazu chocolate fan. Stanbury changed my mind about their chocolate with this beautifully prepared dessert.

Everything every time. Just absolutely amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance. Staff always impressed me with their kindness. Just when I think the place can't be better, Drew blows us away with his new creations. I will be back again and again!

I've heard so many good things about Stanbury, but never ventured over bc they don't take reservations & I love a reservation. We got there at 5 on a Friday and only waited 15 minutes, with a menu in hand. Every dish was amazing, honestly. The standouts for me were the smoked fish nduja and striped bass. The smoked fish nduja flavor was so addictive, my whole dinner could have been just that and I would have left happy. The striped bass had one of these nicest fried fish skins I've had in a while, and it stayed surprisingly crisp with the salsa on top. Another fun dish was the bulgogi zucchini - I knew I had to order this unique concoction when I saw it on the menu, and the flavors did not disappoint. The fried oysters dish had perfectly crisp oysters and the sauce gave sriracha mayo vibes, which I love. I love the vibes here, and the seasonal menu was spectacular. We sat outside on the porch which was nice, save for a few pesky flies. We will definitely be back for more when our built-in babysitters are back in town. 8.5/10 s *Smoked Fish Nduja: shaved zucchini, idiazabal, basil, pistachio *Octopus Tostada: salsa macha, cucumber, onion, avocado, cilantro, peanut *Bulgogi Zucchini: squash banchan, sesame, gochugaru, scallion *Fried Oysters: cucumber, daikon, carrot, spicy mayo, cilantro *NC Striped Bass: succotash, berbere butter, piquillo, pickled onion, corn bread *Bread &

We got bread, smoked fish, drinks, pasta, and a salad. Loved it! - Vibe: Moody, chic, lousiana bayou (extra points for uniqueness!) - Service: attentive af, water never empty, food timed in cascade etc - Food and price: curated, worth it

This dinner was phenomenal and the menu is innovative! Stanbury-- I stan. The pork chop, butter and piping hot bread, beef tongue, and fried oysters were all highly recommended and well received. The flavors and plating were absolutely spot on. The service was fast and friendly. The hubs and I enjoyed the ambiance and the cocktails. The restaurant was packed but didn't feel stuffy. All in all, we'd come back in a heartbeat. Cheers!

This place is a culinary experience! This is the type of restaurant the depict in "The Bear" with an ever changing menu and dishes that only a true creative can concoct. This is a place where I say trust a wait staff recommendation and go out on a limb trying new dishes. Whether it's shared tapas style or splitting an entree the wait staff does an incredible job of spacing out your food so you have the perfect amount of time to sit and enjoy the company and ambiance of this tucked away gem! I wouldn't recommend this place to you if you're looking for a "quick bite". Go here to celebrate, catch up with friends or just enjoy an incredible meal GET THERE EARLY. for real, you have to get there before 5:20 on a weekend to get a spot by 8:30. With no reservations though must get there early and it'll be worth it. If there's a wait, just walk down to the standard or station and wait cause it's worth it

If you are going on a Saturday, be sure to get your name on the seating list right at 4:30! The timing worked out for us tonight and we absolutely devoured this meal. My favorites were the beef tartare, grilled romaine, and pickle soup (very unique and not too pickley, despite the name). Our server checked in at all the right times and ambiance was perfect. I appreciate the chocolate shop next door and plenty of heated spaces to wait until opening. We will definitely be back!!

A very unique place and the menu changes all the time but the three things we got on the menu were all very good. I would say this is not a place to come to if you're looking for large portions but the cocktails were unique and the food was unique and a great experience overall. The wait was supposed to be two hours but it turned out to be just over an hour. So plan to do something while you wait. They do not take reservations but they are efficient at the way they manage their list with a phone call.

Although restaurant does not take reservations, they have a cute waiting area with chairs & tables. We ordered some drinks & appz & wait went by quick. The food is phenomenal!!! Every local said it was a must & they were so right! when in raleigh it's a must!

The number one thing to know about Stanbury is they do not take reservation. And it's super popular. So timing is everything if you don't want to wait for a table. If you don't mind an early dinner, show up fifteen minutes before they open, get your name on the list and they will seat accordingly as soon as they open. Secondly, do know it won't be an inexpensive evening. You are paying for quality and perfection in execution. Four of us had a recent enjoyable Saturday dinner. The menu changes frequently. You won't find their menu on their website, but they will sometimes post one on Facebook. Off the current menu we shared off the small bites: Fried Oysters, Scallop Yakitori and Grilled NY Bigeye Tuna. All four of us agreed that the Tuna was the best. The Scallop, while good, was really expensive for what was probably two scallops cut up. So half a scallop per person. For the mains, we shared two of the pork chop dishes and one Tagliatelle. Having had pork here before, we knew they do especially well with it and they did again. The pasta was very tasty as well. For dessert we tried all three: a blueberry cheesecake mousse, peach cake and dark chocolate bread pudding. The blueberry one was the surprise favorite. Cake was a light blah, while bread pudding was the least fave. Service good. Two of us got a little water dropped on us when refilling water glasses, but hey they kept them filled to go along with the alcohol we consumed. As for ambiance, it's on the dark side, with medium to high noise level.

I ate here a couple weeks ago with 2 other people. Overall we were disappointed. There was only 1 dish out of 6 that we thought was really good and that we'd come back for-- the Black Pepper Cavatelli. Bread and Butter-- 4 pretty good, the butter they served with the bread was really good. NC Bigeye Tuna Crudo-- 4 Black Pepper Cavatelli-- 4.5 Delicious! The corn made this dish! F1 Hungarian Sausage-- 3.5 Flavors didn't come together quite right. Roasted Marrow-- 2 Tasted like fat blobs. There was no richness of flavor that marrow should have. Peach Crisp-- 3 The flavors weren't balanced. The peaches didn't have enough sugar in the filling. And wasn't served with enough ice cream. We had to order another scoop to have enough for the crisp. I was torn between giving this restaurant a 3 and 4. It deserved 3.5. However I decided to give it 3 stars because it's pricey. So for the price, the quality should be better. Overall I don't think I'll return.

The pieces of fish were large and thick. -- The Manchego-herb Biscuits were awesome. One order comes with four small biscuits. Crust was flaky, the inside was soft and moist, and the flaky salt was the cherry on top. -- The Seared Duck Breast was phenomenal. The duck was juicy and tender and salted well. I enjoyed the mix of fresh vegetables and warm cooked vegetables served with the dish. -- The Lemon Yuzu Tart was a nice bright and rich dessert. The tartness comes from the jam on top of the tart but it doesn't overwhelm the dish. The creme brulee style top was a nice touch. The buttermilk ice cream was more on the icier side than creamy. The Food The menu leans comfort food with a modern edge, and it's done really well across the board. We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard. The beet salad was also excellent, clean flavors and well balanced. Then came the pimento cheese with fried crackers. This might have been the sleeper hit. The crackers are dangerously good. Simple idea, executed perfectly, and hard to stop eating. For mains, the fried chicken was solid but didn't stand out the same way the starters did. The short rib pot pie, on the other hand, was exactly what you want from a dish like that. Rich, flaky, and deeply comforting. We opted for a reservation at the bar, and we enjoyed excellent service from Brittany and Kylie. Our starter of roasted beets had an incredible blend of buttermilk blue cheese with white balsamic thyme, pickled pumpkin, and Marcona almonds. So yummy. Then my husband and I shared the Ricotta Gnocchi that we agree is the BEST gnocchi we have ever had the privilege of eating. So light in spite of a duck bolognese being the sauce. Fried rosemary sparked my home chef mind for future meals! We also shared the Brussels sprout upon Brittany's recommendation. One of the most unique preparations on Brussels sprouts ever with oyster mushrooms and a sherry cream sauce. We typically pass on dessert, but the description of their Pear Tart Tatin coupled with Kylie's verbal description hooked us and we were thrilled to enjoy every bite of the hazelnut praline ice cream that is part of this beautiful dessert.

Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. First of all, I implore anyone wanting to go, make reservations during peak hours! We entered through a big heavy wooden door into the quasi-dark atmosphere and were promptly seated, despite most of the tables being occupied. We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. The patio blurs the boundary between inside and out, inviting breezes, laughter, and the occasional curious passerby to join the scene. Inside, it's a playful clash of textures and tones--lush greenery tumbling from shelves, vibrant colors dancing against natural wood, and polished metals winking from every corner. It's the kind of place where a cocktail feels brighter, conversations linger longer, and even the sunlight seems to stay for just one more round. From the moment you step in, the welcome feels less like service and more like being let in on a good secret. The staff greet you with easy smiles and a kind of genuine curiosity--like they're actually glad you chose this spot, today. There's no script, no stiffness--just a natural warmth that settles in as quickly as the sunlight. Behind the bar, the bartenders move with quiet confidence and a touch of showmanship. They know their craft, but they don't flaunt it--they share it. Ask for a classic, and it arrives perfectly balanced; ask for something new, and they'll read your mood like a seasoned mind-reader. And then there's the mac & cheese--rich, velvety, and indulgent in a way that feels almost mischievous. Each spoonful stretches and melts like it's putting on a show, wrapping you in buttery comfort while quietly stealing the spotlight.
