I came for the deviled eggs but the steak frites won me over! The deviled eggs are not quite bite-sized, so you do have a mouth full but it's an explosion of the best deviled eggs I've ever had. The fried oyster on top with a drop is hot sauce was incredible. I got a half portion of the roasted carrot salad, I could have used more carrots and I didn't realize it came with blue cheese but overall a really good salad. There were these crispy cornbread sprinkled on top, I could have eaten that by itself! And the steak frites won me over, perfectly cooked steak and the bone marrow fries were amazing. Have you ever tried to get a baked potato in the afternoon? They all tell you to wait until after 3:00pm. Not these folks! Sometimes a hot baked potato fills you like nothing else. I walked in the entrance, it had some cool license plates. A long booth style bench and a warm friendly hostess. She gladly took my to go order and made sure I got the sides for the potato. Stopped by the Oak Steakhouse for a business dinner a while back and it made a strong impression. The restaurant is beautiful, elevated enough for a date night, but well-suited for a business dinner. Parking can be bit tricky. You'll need to either find parallel parking or use a nearby paid garage. Once inside, you'll check in with the host. Definitely worth making a reservation ahead of time to ensure you are seated without a wait. The overall experience feels a step above many Raleigh, comparable steakhouses you'd find in Dallas. We started with a bottle of the 2009 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet wine to start with. The sommelier brought out a decanter to let the bottle of wine breath before serving it, which was a nice touch. Next we ordered our main entrees. I ordered the 8 oz Filet Mignon with black truffle butter. We also ordered the parkhouse rolls for the table along with several sides (Mac & cheese, braised collard greens, and the bone marrow frites). The steak was excellent and the server melted the butter down with a blowtorch. The sides were all well executed and complemented the meal nicely. Out of everything I was most impressed with service, our server was not only friendly and conversational, but also very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, provided great suggestions, and anticipated all of our needs. Freshly baked rolls with whipped butter were absolutely amazing. I went for hangar steak and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. Classic American steakhouse at its finest, the gorgeous modern design gave a sophisticated vibe without being overly pretentious. I visited on a semi quiet Tuesday evening with only a few patrons at the bar. The waiter was fast and welcoming, immediately took my drink order of an old-fashioned that was perfectly executed. I had the medium rare steak frites, but substituted the fries for collard green. The steak was well-seasoned and buttery, while the flavorful collard greens were a bit too sweet for my liking. Also, the portion of the collard greens was weirdly massive, more than enough for two people. This was a last minute walk in and I sat at the bar so hungry from the day. I was attending an event nearby and couldn't focus until I filled my belly and I knew this place wouldn't disappoint. Service was a bit on the slower side and our server was just okay, not the warmest. For starters, we tried the bone marrow. It was good, though I've had better, and I wasn't a fan of the bacon mustard jam--probably just a personal preference since I lean more savory than sweet. For my main, I went with the steak frites. The steak was cooked just how I like it, tender with great flavor, and the bone marrow frites were excellent. We shared the mac and cheese, which was a disappointment. We've been here before and it's always been consistently amazing but most recently we dined here for our 9 year anniversary in November and let me tell you, they sure know how to make you feel special. When you dine here you will be treated like kings, nay, gods. No, the food wasn't perfect but yes, they fixed any issues that came up (the over $100 dry aged steak was raw inside after being sent back to the kitchen twice but they comped it without us asking and the marrow fries were so salty to the point of being inedible although we didn't mention it because there was more than enough food to eat anyway). Tartare was nice and the spice on the side has quite the kick so be careful not to be heavy handed when seasoning your lettuce wrap. Good but wouldn't get again. Deviled eggs were incredible and topped with fried oysters. It's been a while but I wanna say my drink was called the blue lemon? I loved it. My husband said it didn't taste like alcohol but that's what I was going for hahaha Scallops are yummy. They gave us free marrow (with toast) and that was delicious. Bone marrow fries were the inedibly salty ones. It tasted like the cap fell off as they were seasoning it. You've gotta get the bread DUH it's amazing. Beef Wellington I ordered was like one of 7 and there were two left so of course I had to. It was lovely and the meat was perfectly medium rare. Sauce was quite salty but not unforgivable. We ordered the ice cream flight and they were all fantastic. They also gave us a complimentary blood orange dessert. Of course we will be coming back. The ambience is always gorgeous, intimate, and warm. The staff always goes above and beyond and is extremely attentive and helpful. We went here for a birthday dinner and by the look of the crowd this looked to be a great meal. While the atmosphere was great the meal was average. The Caesar was nothing special just because it had broccolini. The Mac & cheese was again just average and small being "for the table". Just sauce over pasta. The frites were tasty but just frozen fries. While I don't expect anything special recognition of the birthday would have been nice. It was also so loud we could not clearly hear our server or carry on a conversation. There was no sense asking her to repeat herself as we could never hear her. Overall: Very nice experience and exceptional service, great quality steak, other food was hit or miss. Husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. First and foremost, the staff were exceptional. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and felt like we could really take our time enjoying the night. The food in general was good, but some specifics: - Rolls are excellent. $8 is crazy but dang they are so good. I would always get these again despite the price. - Caesar salad: We were advised to split the "small" size for an appetizer and this was good advice as this salad is big! It is a very non-traditional Caesar with spicy honey and broccoli. I thought it was excellent and very unique. Be warned it is quite spicy. - Pork chop: Unfortunately this was just okay. The cook was a perfect medium and the meat quality was nice but it just lacked flavor overall. Would not order this again. - Dry aged bone-on ribeye: Excellent quality steak and perfect medium rare cook with a great crust. Probably the best quality steak we've had in Raleigh! Seasoning was simple and let the steak shine. - Mac and cheese: Good flavor but unfortunately texture was terrible. Sauce was too thick/not creamy and noodles were terribly overcooked, just falling apart. I feel like if we'd said something to the waiter he definitely would have replaced it, we just didn't mind enough to say anything but that was our choice. - Mashed potatoes: Fine/not memorable We were also blown away by the dessert menu! Some steak places sleep on dessert but the Oak really had a lot of creativity here. They had a baked Alaska that we weren't in the mood for but I will definitely be back to try as the other desserts were so good. - Chocolate cake: Really tasty and rich - huge slice! Our servers, Cameron & John, were absolutely TOP TIER! I have extreme food allergies & was just going to enjoy the ambience and company. Cameron asked if I wanted him to speak to the chef, but I told him no as this is a usual thing for me *I despise being that person & don't want to cause a ruckus*. He continued to take everyone's orders and came back 10 minutes later to let me know the chef had a plan to ensure I could also enjoy the food. They took my allergies very seriously and my pork chop was one of the best I've ever had!!! Also, the shrimp cocktail was delicious as they season the shrimp so no sauces were actually needed. My grandfather always told me there's a few things worth spending money on in life. Food is not always one of them but at the right place, with the right people, who create a perfect experience, it can be. To start my 2025 dining experiences off with Oak Steakhouse for the first time, may have been a bad decision because now every place I go to from here on out, has a very high bar to meet. My husband and I love to try new restaurants, we try and pick at least one a month but strive for two. We've been to many different steakhouses around the area, all of the popular ones Im sure you've heard of. If you have not tried Oak Steakhouse yet and made it this far in reading my review, just stop here, make the reservation, and go indulge yourself. Ask for David :) He made the best recommendations to pair items together, knew the menu perfectly and was the star of our experience because of his attentiveness and knowledge. My husband even said "they dont have a cook back there, they have a chef!" Everything was so flavorful and dopamine filled with each bite. Here's what we had: We tried Rosie Corsair (rose petal infused kettle one, hibiscus syrup, lemon soda). It was like a hibiscus sprite with vodka, perfectly paired flavors, it was light and crispy with a bit of sweetness. My husband ordered the flight of old fashions. He LOVEs a good old fashioned and has learned not everyone can make a good one, even though it's a simple drink. His flight had Old Forester 1920, Evan Williams (house aged), and the seasonal old fashioned was an Apple version. His favorite was the house aged Even Williams. They had a few things to it that make it theirs, which is what made the drink. For starters, the Parkerhouse rolls and roasted bone marrow. Fix your face if "bone marrow" tripped you out, it was DELICIOUS and not what we expected. You spread this bacon concoction onto a piece of what I think is sourdough bread thats been toasted. All the flavors just dance in your mouth, it was so good! We also shared a Caesar salad which was the best version of a Caesar salad we've ever had (we're big Caesar fans, I always judge a high end restaurant off their Caesar salad). For entrees we both ordered steaks. I got the filet and he got the ribeye so we could try both cuts. I never had a steak cooked so perfectly to my liking, I ordered mine medium well because too much red will upset my stomach although I used to love a good medium steak. Both steaks had the perfect fill flavor and we topped them both with chimichurri. I loved their chimichurri, it was more like a soft butter spread texture than super oily like some can be. SO GOOD. Even the mashed potatoes and collard greens had their own moment. They just did not miss with anything. The collards have some of the "southern" flavor of a lot of us in the south enjoy but with their own spin on it with the creamy texture and flavor. To wrap up our evening we tried their Peanut Butter Pie. It's like a much better version of a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and an Oreo had a baby who went on to become the president. It. Was. So. Good. A peanut butter mouse that just melts in your mouth paired with that crisp banana chip topping, creates a firework of flavors in your mouth that send you back for another bite, even if you are full. This will be our go to steakhouse of all special events or when we just want to have special date night out. I can no longer with good heart recommend some of our favorite steakhouses in the same price bracket, this will be my #1 pick for now. read more

Very solid experience! We dined here to celebrate my friend's birthday. We really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was spectacular and the Service was amazing as well. We had to wait until our entire party was present to be seated so in the meantime we were able to sit at the bar which was a hospitable touch. Once seated, our waiter James was very nice and informed on the menu. You could tell he really knew and enjoyed what he was doing. The appetizers were amazing including the deviled eggs and the oysters. The deviled eggs had a kick to them which was much appreciated. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The only downside on the food was that they ran out of rolls :( Ambiance is typical of a steakhouse, dimly lit and sultry. Back on September 9th some associates with the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors were having dinner the night before our Global Summit taking place at RRAR's Cary headquarters. In attendance were members of the Exec Committee and a couple of guests including John McPherson, the 2025 President of NC Realtors. When we were ordering our meals I asked for a hamburger with no buns but with a lot of pickles on the side. I am trying to lose weight and I knew I would not be able to resist having a dessert so I figured ordering just the patti would help offset the dessert calories. We can rationalize a lot when we are trying to lose weight. Little did I know that the restaurant was out of pickles. Before I knew it the manager, Nicholas Papas, was standing next to me with a whole jar of pickles. He had actually run across the street to either a store or another restaurant and found a jar of hamburger dill pickles just so I could get the pickles I ordered. Everyone at the table was very impressed with what the manager had done. It was a great example of top notch service, of finding a way to give the customer what they desired. If Mr. Papas did that for someone who had never set foot in his restaurant before that night and something that he could have easily ignored I think he deserves more than 5 stars for his efforts. And the meals were all great too. The rest of the staff provided great service to me and my companions. Don't confuse this place with "The Oak" as I did...they are two separate restaurants in different parts of the city lol. This one is relatively new compared to some of the older staples like Angus Barn or Sullivans. I'm a huge fan of Angus Barn, they make a mean steak and sides. The Oak is just as good if not better in certain categories such as sides. However, the Angus Barn wins for atmosphere and theme, the Oak is just a typical higher end steakhouse very clean and very modern. Service here is exemplary. Never ever had anything to complain about. The food is oh so amazing. I usually get the ribeye rare and it comes out perfectly each time and has a ton of flavor. It's a bit more pricy compared to the Angus Barn but the venue is much smaller and way less crowded, so more intimate. You feel less cramped in here. I really love their salads and Brussels sprouts. They bake fresh rolls and bring them to your table hot, they are much more dense than the fluffy rolls you'd get at Texas Roadhouse, having more substance and less sugar. Any of the appetizers or sides I've had have also been amazing. I would rank the Oak as my 2nd favorite steakhouse in the triangle after Angus Barn. Definitely 5 stars or above. read more

First, Taylor greeted us and was a wealth of knowledge about night time places to check out after dinner (better than most concierge desks at hotels!). The menu was straight and the food was nothing short of amazing. Im not sure I get all the hype but i had the pork chop and it was ok not great. I have had much better in other places. When it came out it looked big but about 1/4 of it was all fat which i guess was for flavor. It was not edible and just cut it off and put to the side. All the sides were good and rolls were awesome. A couple of other folks also said it was just ok and they had the filet and one had some other steak. I am sure it is hard to differentiate yourself from other steakhouses. The waitress mentioned the caesar salad was not a traditional caesar salad and one person did order it but didnt care for it. IMO just stick w the way a caesar is supposed to be made and make your own dressing to set it apart from others. If you want the best pork-chop it is in minneapolis at Doolittle's! If there is anything that you MUST do, it's get that Black truffle butter on your steak. After tasting my man's I knew forsure I messed up. I should have added that. And Eric made it happen. Once I added it to my steak it enhanced it EVEN MORE. I will dream about that butter forever. Eric also surprised us with 2 glasses of champagne to help celebrate our anniversary. Such a personal touch to make us feel ever more special than we did while we were there. We actually had to take food home because we were so full toward the end. My boyfriend and I dined here last night and had a wonderful experience. I booked a reservation online at Opentable for 6:00PM. We arrived a few minutes early and were warmly greeted and seated in a booth. Our waiter, Jesse, was awesome. He informed us of all the specials along with the prices which I appreciated. He recommended the Beef Wellington and my boyfriend and I each ordered that entree along with the bone marrow frites. For our appetizers we ordered the Parker House rolls, Oysters Rockefeller and our waiter gave us 2 complimentary oyster deviled eggs to try. I ordered a smoked Manhattan and my boyfriend had a bourbon. The presentation of our drinks and entrees were impressive. Everything was delicious! Jesse checked on us often making sure our drinks and water were filled, even Management checked on us making sure we were happy with our meals and drinks. The Beef Wellington is a must order if it's available. They sell out of it pretty quickly, so you will want to get there earlier. The flavors were outstanding! My filet was cooked perfectly, the sauce, prosciutto, mushrooms and puff pastry complimented the filet and I didn't want my meal to end. You must order the bone marrow frites! I've never had fries this tasty in my life! And our appetizers and rolls were delicious too. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and classy. I loved the dimmed lighting and coziness of the booth. This falls under My top restaurant Raleigh! They get everything right. 10/10... the menu is diverse and sophisticated created for each season. Steaks are beautifully prepared. Tonight we had the burger...don't forget to add the bacon, Brussels and bone marrow! Must have the bone marrow every single time with the bacon jam situation...talk about being high on the hog! Planning a romantic date night, just because or business meetings they have you covered. The managers are welcoming and amazing. They build community and remember the frequent flyers; after all don't you wanna go where everybody knows your name? I do! Be sure to make a reservation! My fiancé and I came here for my birthday celebration and we could not have been more pleased. The food was so incredible, from start to finish we enjoyed every bite. The service was amazing, everyone there that took care of us seamlessly worked together to make sure we were 100% taken care of at all times. The recommendations on food were perfect, our server even offered to have the creamed collards comped since he recommended it and we weren't too sure. They gave us dessert on them as well as the collards and a glass of wine. While this spot is a bit pricey for an every weekend sort of date night, it was incredibly worth it for a once in a while treat yourself. Attire seems to be business casual, although there were a few people dressed in jeans and T-shirts as well. We will definitely be back, hopefully for next years celebration! read more

We came here to celebrate a special occasion, looking for a fine steak. Walking in with a reservation on this weeknight, we were promptly seated. The decor and ambiance was exactly what we were looking for, and service was excellent throughout the meal. For starters, we ordered the table bread, which was not complementary but was absolutely delicious and fluffy and worth it. As for entrees, my wife ordered the 16 oz ribeye and I ordered the 14 oz NY Strip. Unfortunately, the steaks were just about the only part of the meal that I found disappointing - medium rare was closer to medium, there wasn't as much marbling of the steak that I'd like (perhaps personal preference), but most of all, neither steak (and I tried some of my wife's for good measure) was anywhere near as juicy as expected. The salt and pepper seasoning was a little light on the steak, but this actually paired fairly well with the extra salty creamed NC collards, a Southern spin on a typical creamed spinach you'd find at a steakhouse. Word of advice, consider what you're pairing the collard greens with since it is very salty after all. The waiter had recommend a hearty helping of the bone marrow frites and it didn't disappoint. And finally, we were served a complementary key lime pie to celebrate our occasion and this was delicious as well. To wrap it up, we spent a fair amount and everything was up to or exceeding my expectations ... except the steaks. Setting: Located in Glenwood conveniently near a parking garage. The ambience is a more modern take on a steakhouse. With lots of dark rich colors surrounded by large windows. Food: We started off with a bone marrow appetizer, which was a perfect size for two people. The bread was toasted perfectly, and the bone marrow melted beautifully along with the complementary jam. For our entrées, we ordered the 8 ounce filet mignon and 14 ounce New York strip. Both steaks had black truffle butter on top. One was ordered, medium rare, and the other one medium. Both were cooked perfectly and had a nice sear. The fillet was exceptionally tender. The New York strip was bounding with flavor. Our side dishes included the mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes were definitely my favorite while the mac & cheese was good; however, it was more unorthodox with a jalapeño flavor. For dessert the apple soufflé takes about 15min to prepare and was worth the wait. It was fluffy and delicious. As for drinks we had a smoked Manhattan which was wonderful and a Vieux Carre.
