He provided excellent service and helped make the experience feel special. I ordered the bone-in ribeye with garlic butter on top, along with a side of creamed corn with bacon. Russell recommended the RouteStock Cellars red wine to pair with my steak, and it went really well with the meal. For an appetizer, I ordered six fresh oysters on the half shell, which were really good. For dessert, I went with the cheesesteak. Overall, I was very pleased with everything. The food had great flavor, and the steak was excellent. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again is the creamed corn with bacon. Next time, I'd go with the garlic mashed potatoes instead. It pains me to write this , but this is one of the worst restaurants I've been to. Capital Grill is a great chain, but this location is horrible. First, no valet at the front on a Saturday night, then our reservation wasn't honored. We booked a lounge table at 8:30 but were sat in the back room in a corner. I ordered a patron in club soda, received club soda. The beet salad had soggy leaves . The steaks were a joke. My "aged strip" was overcooked and tough as yogi berras catchers mitt, my daughter's filet was undercooked and fatty. The fries were cold a stale, and asparagus was mushy . We sent a few things back but it was so bad I just took it as an off night. My daughter's birthday was rescued by a nice offer of ice cream and cake at the end . Finally made to the luxurious Capital Grille. It was a Tuesday evening so they weren't too busy and there was plenty of parking in the deck. I was greeted upon entry and let the hostessk ow that I wanted to go to the bar area. She offered me a high top and walked me over. I was promptly greeted after being seated with a menu and ask for my drink order. Then another lovely server followed. Introduced herself and let me know she was partnered with the gentleman that initially greeted me. I was handed the regular menu, but asked for the Happy Hour Menu. That menu had $10 drinks and small plates that range from $11-$40. From the regular menu, I ordered a beet and goat cheese salad. From the other menu, I ordered the truffle fries, NY Strip, and the Peach Bourbon Smash. While I waited I took notice of the space. High ceilings, dim lights, and jazz music. There was a covered patio just off lf the bar are. The bar itself did have televisions with a variety of sports on each screen. Their sound was muted. It truly feels like a place to chill after work. I did not get overstimulated by noise. At my request, the salad arrived first. It was the perfect size. The beet slices were huge under the lettuce. I wish they'd take the time to slice them a bit more. I love that they put a dollop of goat cheese on top so that i could plan how to incorporate some into every bite! The steak and fries followed. The steak had cooled a bit, but the fries were piping hot. The presentations were lovely. The steak was cooked perfectly medium and I enjoyed the added crust. The fries were delicious. Truffle oil wasn't too overwhelming. I had to remind the server about my Peach Bourbon Smash. She apologized, promptly made it and said it was on the house. I spent a total of $44. As always, the ambiance was set with the lovely all glass wine cellar as you walk in. We had a reservation, we our wait was minimal, which was great because there is very little space to stand and wait. The service was slow but still kind and professional. Me and a group of friends went for dinner and everything was beyond amazing. Our server Maxx (who is a certified trainer) was perfect the whole night and anticipated every need. I went today for lunch. There weren't many people in there but it took a few minutes to get a table ready for 2 of us. The staff were all very kind and personable. Our waiter was very engaging and talked to us about not only our current meal but special offerings coming. The dining room is your classic steakhouse. Leather booths and tablecloths on the tables. They have a bar area but we chose the dining room instead. My issue was with the food itself. We both had the burger and I found mine to be extremely salty. The person with me didn't find any issues with theirs. The size of the burger was good and the quality of the beef seemed nice. It was cooked well, but overly seasoned. We each got a glass of wine as well, but that was separate. They brought out bread right away, which was nice. I liked the variety. I got the clam chowder, filet mignon, and the espresso cake. The bread was warm and served with salted butter which was a nice touch. I had the butternut squash bisque which was just ok. For the side dishes we ordered the asparagus and the au gratin potatoes. I would highly recommends the au gratin potatoes. Phenomenal! They had a crispy potato topping which really added to the textural component of the dish. The asparagus was a miss. They left the woody root on and some pieces were overcooked and some undercooked. It was my mom's birthday so they gave her a card upon arrival and added birthday confetti to the table. We had a great table in a booth and started with bread and butter. Today's lunch was very lackluster from the minute go with lukewarm clam chowder to poorly seasoned steak to greasy calamari the only thing that saved the day was Max as a server otherwise I would have been sending everything back and asking for concessions for $150 bill so all I can say is great place for drinks and people watching in the bar at this particular location as this has been inconsistent since I moved here in 2016. read more

Basic service expectations were missed, including attention to the table and timely check-ins. Cleanliness was another concern. Our glassware had visible fingerprints, the carpet appeared overdue for a deep cleaning, and the tile flooring in the entryway and hallway toward the restrooms was noticeably slippery--something that felt unsafe. Overall, the restaurant did not meet the cleanliness standards we've come to expect. It was delicious and did not lack in the alcohol department. I got the shrimp cocktail appetizer and it was delishhh! The shrimp was colossal in size and fresh. I chose the seared tenderloin and butter poached lobster tail. The lobster was cooked well and the tenderloin was tender. The sides are always delicious at the capital grille. The mishaps that night were the missing wedge salad and being charged too much. I was not pleased that me and the other woman in my party were charged $50 more for gratuity. Our server (Rachel) had a wonderful personality and knew what she was doing. She was knowledgeable while balancing attentiveness with privacy. i didn't take any pictures of the food because it wasn't worth it. i want to start by saying they gave our birthday cake away to another table "by accident". a $140 cake, that we told them the reservation name for. we went out our way that day to get that cake and they lied to us and told us they didn't know where the cake went, but we saw a waiter walk away from a table with the same exact cake box. the service was so slow, they brought all the food out a different times we were all waiting for everyone to they their food. Before i ordered, i was told not to order the ribeye by someone because it wasn't seasoned enough but i ordered it anyway cooked medium and they were right. it needed a lot of salt. the lobster mac and cheese was okay but i it also needed salt. this place is way too expensive for that in my opinion. i've gotten a 10/10 ribeye at The Hamilton in DC and Clyde's for almost half the price. i really want to give this place another chance because i heard good things and i was so disappointed especially with the cake thing. the hostess at the front was also so rude. the staffs attitudes were not nice even though THEY were the ones messing up. read more

I ordered the chefs choice which was beef tenderloin with lobster tail and my husband had the scallops and asparagus. The steak was ok, it was not my favorite but the lobster...oh the lobster was a disappointment. It was the smallest piece of lobster I've ever seen but that wasn't the issue. The issue when cooking a lobster that small is it doesn't need that much time to cook or else it gets tough. That's exactly what happened here. For the price you pay I would expect more. On the other hand my husband enjoyed his meal and the mashed potatoes were delicious. Now I probably would've tried this place again if it wasn't for the service. Service was slow and not very pleasant. What sealed it for me is when our server decided to rate my husband and I as customers. He says "it was a pleasure although you were both very quiet" I've never in my life have heard a comment from a server like that. Why he even thought it was a good idea to even say that is beyond me.
