So we ordered steak that was recommended to us. Porchini rubbed bone in ribeye, spinach pear pecan salad, lobster bisque. EACH dish was 5 stars out of 5! Let me tell ya, when your not- so- favorite dish becomes your favorite, they are doing something right. Lobster bisque was delicate- savory and light and lobster in soup was chunky and cooked perfect. Salad was amazing - sweet salty of sweetened pear and Gorgonzola cheese and pecan crunch in every bite was heavenly. Porchini ribeye was recommended and we were hesitant as we didn't want overpowering flavor but it was perfect! Porchini rubbed seasoning was light- hint of vinaigrette cut the richness down and complimented steak flavor. I went today for lunch. There weren't many people in there but it took a few minutes to get a table ready for 2 of us. The staff were all very kind and personable. Our waiter was very engaging and talked to us about not only our current meal but special offerings coming. The dining room is your classic steakhouse. Leather booths and tablecloths on the tables. They have a bar area but we chose the dining room instead. My issue was with the food itself. We both had the burger and I found mine to be extremely salty. The person with me didn't find any issues with theirs. The size of the burger was good and the quality of the beef seemed nice. It was cooked well, but overly seasoned. The bread was warm and served with salted butter which was a nice touch. I had the butternut squash bisque which was just ok. The portion of the soup was really small and I don't think it was worth the price. The soup was a bit watery and just lacked flavor. I had the filet mignon with mushrooms, onions and fig essence. I had it cooked medium rare. It was really delicious. Super tender and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms, onions and fig essence added a slight sweetness to the dish which really enhanced it. For the side dishes we ordered the asparagus and the au gratin potatoes. I would highly recommends the au gratin potatoes. Phenomenal! They had a crispy potato topping which really added to the textural component of the dish. The asparagus was a miss. They left the woody root on and some pieces were overcooked and some undercooked. Update: 12/31/25 - 1/1/26 We dined at Capital Grille on New Year's Eve with a reservation. We arrived about 10 minutes early, yet still waited an additional 10 minutes to be seated. While not a dealbreaker on its own, it set the tone for the evening. The hostess staff was not particularly welcoming, and once seated, our server was absent for much of the meal. Basic service expectations were missed, including attention to the table and timely check-ins. Cleanliness was another concern. Our glassware had visible fingerprints, the carpet appeared overdue for a deep cleaning, and the tile flooring in the entryway and hallway toward the restrooms was noticeably slippery--something that felt unsafe. Overall, the restaurant did not meet the cleanliness standards we've come to expect. My drinks were great I loved the peach bourbon smash. My strawberry lemon drop was a little off it may have been the brand of liquor. The lobster crab cake was tasty and feeling. Not sure why the RALEIGH location is so inconsistent but after recent business in Chicago and Miami, I guess I am a bit spoiled. Went out for the first time in a while since completing my cancer treatment. My husband thought it would be a great idea to try this place. We've been here once before mainly for drinks. So we decided it was time to try dinner. We were sat in the bar area on a high top table. Started off with the calamari which was amazing as well as the Caesar Salad. I ordered the chefs choice which was beef tenderloin with lobster tail and my husband had the scallops and asparagus. The steak was ok, it was not my favorite but the lobster...oh the lobster was a disappointment. It was the smallest piece of lobster I've ever seen but that wasn't the issue. The issue when cooking a lobster that small is it doesn't need that much time to cook or else it gets tough. That's exactly what happened here. For the price you pay I would expect more. On the other hand my husband enjoyed his meal and the mashed potatoes were delicious. Now I probably would've tried this place again if it wasn't for the service. Service was slow and not very pleasant. What sealed it for me is when our server decided to rate my husband and I as customers. He says "it was a pleasure although you were both very quiet" I've never in my life have heard a comment from a server like that. Why he even thought it was a good idea to even say that is beyond me. It was nicely decorated. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation. One server introduced herself a little while after we were seated. The other server was helpful and nice. We were provided with complimentary bread. We ended up ordering the lobster and crab cakes as an appetizer. They were served with a sauce and a corn salad. The salad and cakes were great. For my dinner I got the lamb chops. They were prepared perfectly. The sides were served family style. You have the option of splitting them and getting half orders to try other options. We got the asparagus, mashed potatoes, cauliflower au gratin and potatoes au gratin. The au gratins were ok. I wouldn't get them again. I loved the asparagus and mashed potatoes. I was also provided with a birthday card and dessert sampler for my birthday. I wasn't a fan of the flourless cake. The cheesecake with a creme brûlée topper was good and creamy.
