This is a long over due review to Brodeto. (Pictures are from Oct/Nov 2025) Date night? Celebrating? Looking for a place in town? This is the spot. We've been here a total of 3-4 times as of 6/25/26. This last time we had the Amberjack, gnocchi, little gem hearts, and peka, side of focaccia and 2 different bottles of wine. Everything this place has to office is other worldly truly. If you're not picking up the bowl of peka to drink the stew you're not doing it right. Everything about the dishes to the staff is perfect. The teamwork and the perfection that goes into these dishes is astonishing. I recommend doing a bunch of small plates to get a taste of everything. Something to definitely get is their grilled ribeye. 1000% worth it. We had Truman as our server she's was lovely, knowledgeable on proper wine service; she took great care of my husband and I. Wow! This is one of the most memorable meals I have had within NC in a long time. Several people had recommended Brodeto and we knew this was a style of food we would really enjoy. They have a great selection of fresh fish crudo and a whole Bronzino entree. We received incredible service and every dish was times perfectly. Our city doesn't have many choices when it comes to Italian food, nor do we have Michelin recognized restaurants, so my husband and I were excited to visit Brodeto. We made a reservation the week before our visit, but even then, we had to reserve bar seats because this is such a hot spot. Spoiler- it was worth it. I had a specialty cocktail that the bartender made for me. I love telling bartenders what ingredients I like and just letting their imaginations go wild. My husband had a whiskey sour which he said was delicious. Both of us stuck with only one drink, but the drinks are delicious and strong, so we only needed one. The limoncello spritz was the most popular drink we saw that night, but we didn't try it. I also appreciated that they have several spirit-free options. For food, we tried a little bit of everything. Both of the crudos we tried (salmon and tuna) were delicious, although the portions were small. The Little Gem Salad is Caesar and surprised us. My husband and I ordered it just to give our bodies a vegetable at dinner, but it was delicious with just the right amount of dressing and crunch. The whipped feta was rich and I loved the figs on top. Our pasta dishes, the Sopresine and Linguine al Nero, were wonderful. The linguine was my favorite of the two. I highly suggest ordered multiple pasta dishes and sharing them so you can try several- on that particular night, the menu had seven pastas. For dessert, my favorite was the vanilla gelato. You should definitely save room for it. I'm still thinking of the gelato and wish they sold pints! Both of us agreed Brodeto was one of the best meals we've had in the US. Even at the bar, service was excellent, and it was fun talking to the bartenders. We would certainly return when in Raleigh, and the menu changes seasonally, so it's a great place for return visits. read more

Brodeto has been on my radar for quite awhile based off the reviews and the ambiance. I finally went this past weekend and my friend and I are still raving about the food! Every. Single. Thing. we ordered was delicious and we ordered alot as a table. Overall the service was great as our waiter and the other servers were all very pleasant and patient when we had questions. My son and I visited this restaurant on his birthday as part of his birthday celebration. My son had been there previously and wanted to go back for his birthday because he enjoyed it that much, so he made reservations for us to go. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our seat. We had a wonderful server, Felicity. She took great care of us and answered all of our questions. We ordered several things on the menu. Everything ordered was flavorful, had great texture, and was displayed well on the plate. The moistness and tenderness of each dish were definitely highlights. I wasn't sure about the snapper crudo but decided to try it anyway. It was scrumptious! The Wood Roasted Oysters were good, and the Bordeto seafood meal was awesome; however, I felt it could've been a larger portion for that price. Our gelato desserts were very tasty and refreshing. My son loved the uniqueness of the Vanilla Bean Gelato with olive oil and sea salt. I thoroughly enjoyed my Strawberry Sorbetto. I can see why this restaurant received Michelin acknowledgment in 2025. Between the food, service, and ambience, it was an absolutely fabulous experience. I was so excited to go to Brodeto. I had been hearing such good things so we went as a belated birthday dinner with my family. Four of us, three women and one man. The space is absolutely gorgeous, like wow. It is located in Ironworks so parking can be a little iffy so keep that in mind when you come. We were there on a Sunday evening at 6pm and it was busy, so I would recommend a reservation. We started off with drinks. I got their rose spritz, which they said was newer to the menu. It was both gorgeous and delicious. The idea of this place is tapas/small plates. I knew that going in. So we ordered a few small plates to enjoy: whipped ricotta, beef carpaccio, and little gem hearts. Our food came out pretty quickly but I will admit I was pretty underwhelmed by the portions. Each small plate is $22, which I am fine with paying when there is actually enough food. The bread that came with the whipped ricotta was delicious, that was probably my favorite. But there wasn't a lot of bread. And each new order of bread was $5. We had two order two more small rolls to be able to use up all of the whipped ricotta. For our entrees (again shared) we had the half roasted chicken, ravioli, and a side of potatoes. Again, I was underwhelmed by the portion of the ravioli. It was like 5 pieces of ravioli. Personal preference also, I just do not like when pasta is cooked al dente. The chicken was a large portion and was pretty decent. The crispy potato side was good. Then for dessert we had the olive oil cake, which was very good. But again, small in portion size compared to the quality and cost. I will admit, I was just overall pretty underwhelmed. It was a lovely dining experience with a beautiful ambiance, knowledgeable and attentive server, and unique menu but for the price, I was not obsessed with the food. The food was all so very good, no complaints there. A few things I didn't like. First and foremost, a 3% credit card charge?!? Seriously? Y'all's prices are already adequately high AND you want to charge me for using a credit card?! I feel like this is just petty. I feel disrespected. We as customers already subsidize the cost of your wait and bar staff by personally paying their salaries, you could at least pick up the CC fees. Which sort of brings me to my next point. If your going to charge me $30 for literally 6-7 tiny little ravioli, at least indicate in SOME way that I'm getting a little appetizer portion and not an actual pasta dish that would serve as a meal. Granted, they were friggin delicious, but come on... I really liked almost all the food here and I want to give it a better rating but there are issues here that will not allow it. I have been to Brodeto twice now and both the times the food has been phenomenal. This time we got the following: Char Crudo - This was my first time trying char and I really liked it. The crudo was flavorful Croatian Pogača, fresh herbs, wood grilled - I was not a big fan of this bread. It was grilled a bit too much that it got tough and tasted charred. Scallops - I loved the presentation of this dish. The scallops were cooked tender and had a lot of flavor. Linguine al Nero - This was hands down my favorite dish. The pasta is cooked in a sea urchin butter and it gives it such a rich flavor. I would definitely go back and order this again. It was so good. Ribeye: The steak came perfectly grilled to a medium rare precut on a bed of porcini and grilled mushrooms. I'm not a big mushroom fan but they actually complimented the steak. The ambience was beautiful and contemporary, Staff were friendly. The food was tasteful, but overpriced. The scallops were the smallest that I've ever seen and eaten. They were bite size. Also, the arugula salad was bland. I enjoyed the Cocomero drink. The Croatian experience was interesting, but not as exciting as I expected. I will return again to try a different dish. Tips: you must order all food items at the same time. Also, the wooden door inverts when opened as if it is going to revolve. My friend and I had the perfect girls night here! I love Italian and this was on her list of suggestions. Even better it's walkable from the climbing gym so I was able to have a full evening of climbing and catching up with my friend. We made a reservation for 7:30pm and were seated at a two top in the main area. The ambiance here is clean, classy and upscale. We started with an espresso martini and a mezcal drink. The mezcal had that classic smoky kick and the espresso martini was actually a bit more bitter (ha) than expected but still very good. I had the busiate with shrimp and my friend got the pork chop. I also had a glass of pink rose that was delicious and paired well with my pasta. I tried a bit of the polenta - which I'm pretty indifferent towards, but this was scrumptious. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake and it was amazing. Serving sizes are on the smaller side but makes you savor every single bite! All in all, I had an excellent night here. Brodeto is probably one of the top five restaurants in the Triangle. The food, ambience and service were top notch! It's fairly new and opened in 2024. I do love it when the reviews align with my own experience. For Brodeto, the bulk of the reviews are spot on. We ordered the Focaccia ($10), Croatian Pogaca ($8), Brodeto ($40), Cavatelli ($22), Pork Chop ($38) with white polenta ($12), Olive Oil Cake ($13), Italian Chocolate Tart ($13), and Vanilla Bean Gelato ($10). Everything we ordered was delightful apart from the Pogaca. We could not taste any of the basil or salt on the pogaca, only the overpowering burnt flavor. I understand if it is supposed to be baked on an open fire and have a smoky flavor, but it was too much. Food: exceptional flavors with widely varying portion sizes and prices. Our waiter wanted us to order everything at once, which is fine but challenging to do when the portions and prices are seemingly random. It would help if the menu identified items that are intended to be shared and items that feed one person. The Brodeto is smaller than expected so best for one person or two (if you purchase bread separately). Highly recommend the desserts, they are divine. Atmosphere: open, welcoming interior with natural light and live plants. Our evening started off chilly and quiet. By the end of our meal the dining room was nearly full with a noticeable rise in ambient temperature and noise. Customer service: The service is excellent. The waiters and bussers are attentive and patient. Our table was consistently cleaned and our waters topped off. Parking: free parking available in the stone lot adjacent to the restaurant or across the way in the parking garage. This place is an ambiences and vibe GOLDMIND. To start it's kinda tucked away in the plaza, with dark windows and a huge door but it creates this incredible immersion of being almost "hidden". The aesthetic of the interior, is clean, modern, yet full of artistic flavor and vibrancy. The walls and lighting give it an almost underground kind of feeling but it works so incredibly well. This place feels like a restaurant Bruce Wayne would visit, in its supreme class and vibe. The service was also spectacular and our waiter was super friendly, helpful, and kind throughout our visit. Food menu is limited and easy to choose from. We ordered tomato salad, scallops, tuna crudo and their famous focaccia bread and butter. Not a fan of raw fish, but my friends liked it, bread and butter, awesome! Will order again. Scallops were juicy and soft with lots of flavors. In the main course we ordered shrimp pasta, cod fish, pork chops and baked potatoes. Pasta was decent but loved their pork chops and cod fish filet, well cooked, really soft that melted in mouth. For dessert for ordered olive oil cake, espresso and a latte. Their latte is a must try. Service was prompt and smooth. They kept checking in and explained everything we asked for. My butter knife sliced through the crust easily. I won't lie, everything we put in our mouths was great. However, (and my wife called it, I have to give her credit), we were still hungry after we ate bread, appetizer, and entrees. We were fearful as we saw plates get sent to other tables that were smaller than the price tag would suggest. If I'm spending a premium for a meal, I'd like to at least leave satisfied. We started with the Razor clams, this is a rare seafood to find on a menu and the reason we ordered them, it comes with 2 clams about 4-5 inches long and 1 1 inch wide, the clams come chopped and mixed with garlic, lemon and salsa rossa. delicious...Also, try the amberjack, this is my favorite raw fish...super good. Next the Little Gem hearts salad was one of the best prepared Cesar salads I have had, however, it is very large and can easely be spit with 4 people. Then, Coursed out perfectly, came the Linguine al Nero, (sea urchin butter, chile pangrattato), this was my favorite dish of the night. Our main dish was the whole roasted pork chop and while it was very tasty, I was too full to really enjoy it, had on 2 slices. We started with cocktails (both were good, but not $18 good), and the Whipped Ricotta which comes with the most amazing bread. For dinner we shared the Cavatelli (5 stars) and Embered Beef Rib (4 stars - way too much fat for a $79 meat only dish). We ended the night with both desserts - Olive Oil Cake and Chocolate Tart. Overall the food was very good but some things just need a slight alteration to add a bit more punch or another layer of flavor to really take each dish to the next level. Crudo was the favorite of the meal for us. The crudo the fish was so tender. It was perfectly balanced with capers and sauce. Mussels were very good the sauce added a nice amount of spice but the bread crumbs were too heavy and you couldn't taste much of the mussels. The breads our favorite faccia it was well balanced buttery and crusty with some nice olive oil. The pacia was a little too dry and it was burnt it had a bad bitter aftertaste. I think we didn't get the full experience but it was our least favorite. For mains we got the black risotto, Busiate al Limon, gnocchi, and grilled prawns. Overall our favorite gnocchi was well balanced between savoryness of the fish and freshness of the beans. Black risotto was very good but it needs some chili flakes and some acidity to give it more depth of flavor. Brusiat was very good had nice flavor to it with perfectly cooked ingredients but need some chili flakes or another ingredient to add some more depth with savory or some lemon. Desert we got some olive oil cake and vanilla bean gillato. Both were good but the cake was a little dry and the vanilla had a little too much of olive oil on it over powering the vanilla bean flavor to me. TLDR: Good stuff, but as others have pointed out, they need to use less salt. Made a reservation a few days ahead for 6 people and had an awesome meal here! Definitely one of the best new restaurants in Raleigh. We tried: + Tuna crudo + amberjack crudo + Housemade ricotta + foccacia + little gem hearts + octopus carpaccio + Black risotto + Ravioli + agnolotti + whole roasted branzino + Vanilla bean and raspberry sorbetto twist + Olive oil cake + Italian dark chocolate custard My absolute favorite bites were the risotto and the raspberry sorbetto. Next favorites were the ricotta, ravioli and the other two desserts. Apparently the (incredible) bread that comes with the ricotta is available a la carte, so will be ordering that next time. Amberjack crudo is also worth getting - I liked how the dill and capers give it a bagel vibe - but you can skip the tuna. Everything else was really solid. They could pull back on the salt a bit (with the salad and pastas especially) but overall I thought it was excellent. Desserts brought it to a 5! read more

This is a marvelous date night spot! My friend surprised me with a girls night at Brodeto for my last night in town - and it was such a delightful surprise. We ate what felt like everything, and everything was outstanding. We started with the whipped ricotta and beat salad - both of which were light, yet flavorful. The server recommended the ricotta with a different local bread and it was divine- fluffy and soaked in olive oil. Afterwards, I had the gnocchi which is typically not my favorite dish. This was noticeably lighter and the beef was so tender it broke apart so easily. Definitely better than any other gnocchi I have had. I should have stopped there - but our waiter was persistent on how divine the dessert was (especially calling out the custard). Oh man. That vanilla custard was like an angel's pillow. It was beautifully smooth and rich - a reason to visit Raleigh all on its own. Then we paired it with a dense lemon olive oil cake. Wow. Simply amazing. I don't know if they advertise themselves as a dessert restaurant - but it was easily the best thing i consumed during my weekend trip. read more

Wow! What an amazing addition to Iron Works. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and you can tell they thought of everything. Our server was super friendly and made some great wine recommendations. Starting out with the straciatello and it did not disappoint. Loved the salted strawberries and the bread cooked in pork fat that accompanied it. The other highlight for me was the spaghetti Al Nero. The pasta and sauce was just so delicious and flavorful. The whole branzino and the salt cod potatoes were also spot on. I'd order everything again! For dessert we had the olive oil cake and the vanilla and hazelnut gelato twist.
