Went for Mother's Day. Food was good. Service was SLOW as molasses. !!!!! First, despite reservations, we waited for a table. It looked like they were understaffed. Definitely got minimal attention from staff. It was a while before our server came to our table after we were seated just to get water. My cocktail order was forgotten. Waited a fair amount of time for the appetizer, entrees, and even longer for dessert and water refills. I guess coffee wasn't an option as it was not offered with dessert. In summary, we were there for more than 2 hours. We wasted a beautiful day. Would not come back based on service. Really enjoyed my time here! The first thing I noticed was how beautiful this restaurant is - the decor really contributes to the ambiance. For starters we got the spanakopita, tirokafteri, soutzoukakia, and the grilled shrimp - the crowd favorites were definitely the spanakopita and tirokafteri. All of the starters were well balanced and not too filling which I always appreciate. For starters, we got the chicken souvla, filet mignon, shrimp saganaki, and beef short rib. Everyone really seemed to enjoy their entrees except for the filet. I tried a piece and agreed it was extremely underwhelming - not because the quality or the cook weren't spot on, they were, the seasoning was lacking severely which was a huge disappointment considering the price. The favorite was definitely the chicken souvla, the meat was incredibly tender and paired with that paprika sauce and tzatziki, it was hard to beat! We ended up getting the dessert cocktails (espresso martini, baklava old fashioned), both were great as well as their baklava, which was exactly what a good baklava should be! However, we waited 2 more hours for our entrees! We were told by our waiter after 30 minutes that the kitchen was backed up, and then he proceeded to avoid us completely. Most tables were sitting with nothing to eat. We were there for over 3 hours, with no apology, or even an offer for coffee. While I understand the kitchen delays were not the wait staffs fault, their lack of attention was unacceptable. There were long stretches where there were no wait staff to be seen anywhere! And the restaurant was packed! This was our 4th time dining at Naos, and I've never found any of the staff to be friendly. This will likely be our last time. read more

The zucchini croquettes with taziki was a great appetizer and the taziki was thick. kritharota : The orzo was cooked so well and the lemon flavor was outstanding. giglandes plaki: beans were so hearty and rich however it came in a small bowl so ended up ordering the sourdough bread on the side to make the dish more filling. The baklava was incredibly large and but the filling was flavorful. Also not super syrupy like other places may do. Ambiance: it was very airy and light and gave the atmosphere like you were traveling in Greece. Enjoyed dinner with my husband on a Saturday evening. It was packed but we luckily had a reservation and were seated promptly. We started with a round of drinks - the smoke mezcal cocktail for me and a glass of Greek wine for him. Both were delicious! We weren't super hungry so chose a few dishes to share meze style. Interior is super impressive, high ceilings and well decorated. My husband and I came out for a fancy date night and enjoyed our service from our nice Bulgarian server (I forget his name I just remember he's Bulgarian). The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is because the lamb dish I ordered was WAY too sour! I thought maybe it was a mistake or something because it was so off-putting, especially since it was a recommended dish and I saw so many people rave about it in their reviews. Our server went back to the kitchen to ask and apparently that was just how the dish was...but truly I found it inedible. First, the place is gorgeous. They did an amazing job updating the prior space to this Hellenic theme. Large restaurant too, with lots of rooms so you could definitely do a large private dinner here well. Food was phenomenal- we ordered multiple plates and shared, with the dolmas being a favorite, and the spanakopita being absolutely amazing. I don't typically like beets but the way they were prepared and paired with cheese and nuts made me really enjoy as well! My only gripe is our server was rough- made disparaging jokes about himself not being good which made it more awkward. He knew two drinks they were out of, but was unsure if the bartenders could do something similar. We were celebrating a birthday and it wasn't special or even mentioned at all. They placed down an appetizer and didn't tell us the skewer was hot and I ended up seriously burning myself. We had the pleasure of dining here this weekend. We were seated in one of the booths near the center of the restaurant. It is beautifully decorated and very detailed. A feast for the eyes. One note- the tablecloths at these tables felt a little big long and as you move into the booth be careful not to pull it along with you. They would benefit from a shorter cloth. For reference I'm small body wise. We started with the Tiropita which was feta baked inside phyllo with honey and sesame seeds. One of the best bites I've ever had. A must get. 10/10 Spanakorizo was next which is a spinach and rice dish. Very flavorful, very dilly, a hint of spice. One issue is our rice wasn't cooked through but the restaurant was very apologetic and took it off our bill. Despite that it was actually still pretty good and there wasn't a ton of rice in it anyway. If cooked right prob would have been a 7.5/10 but this was more of a 6.5/10 For dinner we had the shrimp saganaki which was absolutely delicious and the shrimp were enormous (you get 8)! Insane value as far as I'm concerned at only $25. 9/10 We also had the bone in pork chop which was quite good and very smoky tasting. The sauce was good but you wanted more of it. 8/10 We shared a affogato for dessert which was ok- but should have had way more ice cream. I would suggest smushing the ice cream down and creating a well for the espresso vs just pouring it over top. Some additions like hot fudge and almonds would elevate this. The biscuit with it was ok but nothing great. 4/10 Overall we enjoyed and will be back. Our waitress was lovely, it was a beautiful atmosphere. read more

A true Greek kitchen and what an absolute treat. Naōs Hellenic Cuisine in Cary left a lasting impression from the moment we walked in. From the food to the service to the ambiance, everything felt intentional, refined, and thoughtfully executed. First impressions matter, and one small but meaningful detail immediately stood out. Our server came to the table and asked what type of water we preferred. I personally do not drink tap water, and I truly appreciate when a restaurant takes the time to ask rather than automatically pouring it while I am trying to decline. It set the tone for the level of attentiveness we experienced throughout the evening. The restaurant itself is stunning. Elegant, polished, and full of class without feeling stiff or pretentious. The space feels warm and elevated at the same time, like the kind of place where time slows down just enough for you to enjoy every bite. We started with the Spanakopita and the Calamari, and both were excellent. I will say that lemon is used generously throughout the menu. While I am not a huge fan of overpowering citrus, it never crossed into unpleasant territory. The Spanakopita was not traditional in the classic sense, but the chef absolutely got it right. Perfect balance of flavor, cheese, and texture with an incredible crunch. This is the kind of dish you would happily take home and snack on later. The Calamari was cooked to perfection. It came with a lemon aioli that was not my personal favorite, but our server suggested pairing it with a side of the tomato sugo that accompanies the Shrimp Saganaki. That suggestion changed everything. The sugo was rich, savory, and completely elevated the dish. For soups, I ordered the beef cheek soup, which I would describe as just okay. Not bad, but it did not stand out compared to everything else we tried. Another person in our party ordered the chicken lemon soup and felt the lemon flavor was too overwhelming to fully enjoy. Now, let's talk about the mains, because this is where Naōs truly shines. The pork chop. Whew. Pure perfection. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. Nothing extra needed. This dish was executed with confidence and restraint, and it showed. The Souvla completely surprised me. I am not typically a dark meat chicken eater, but wow. The chicken was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Paired with the warm pita, creamy tzatziki, and the fresh side salad, this dish was outstanding. Every element worked together effortlessly. The short rib was the least favorite at the table, but that speaks more to how strong the other dishes were because it was still very good. Savory, comforting, and the gravy was rich and delicious. It simply did not steal the spotlight like the others. The Shrimp Saganaki was a small but mighty dish. The shrimp were truly colossal and cooked perfectly. The tomato base was bold, rich, and incredibly satisfying. Personally, I would have loved a side of noodles to soak up every drop of that sauce. We also ordered the Greek salad and my, my, my, it was so good. Fresh, crisp, and beautifully balanced. It was very busy when we went for our date night since it was also prom time. Be forewarned, it can get pretty loud in there! Service was very good...They obviously train their serving staff well on all their dishes as our server was very thorough in explaining each course and each dish. This was greatly appreciated! The food - Everything was very well made & cooked to perfection. The cocktails were creative & the ones we had were excellent. The standouts are the Greek Village Salad, Clay Pot Lamb & the Orange Phylli Cake. I don't care for lamb but it was delicious...well seasoned, very tender & not at all gamey. The orange phyllo cake was honestly one of the best desserts we've ever had! The plaki for me was ok. Fish was well cooked but the tomatoes on the stem were awkward to eat. I felt that there was too much sauce & it overwhelmed the delicateness of the halibut. Woodfired octopus was good but it was too soft imho. It lacked the springy texture I expected for octopus & it lacked the smoky woodfired taste. We also ordered taramosalata. My company hosted a dinner here on the patio. The restaurant is absolutely stunning!!!! One of the most beautiful restaurants I've been inside. The team were nice and helpful. The food was incredible! The only complaint was it took forever for us to get our courses. There were dips already on the table, 2 salads a meat plate and dessert and it took over an hour between the salads and the meat to come out. This place was super lovely with lots of space and gorgeous Greek decor! It's perfect for when you go for an anniversary or just in the mood to go to a fancy meal! I was part of a table of 8 and we all shared multiple dishes. For wine the waiter recommended Gai'a 'Monograph' Assyritko, which was super refreshing. We got a salad and potatoes as appetizers (I was a bit shocked that the lemon juice used on the potatoes were super lemony and not just a hint). The potatoes were definitely a hit and we had a second order even! We also had 2 orders of the octopus that was cooked perfectly! Not spongey at all and seasoned well! I loved the lobster pasta, lamb chops, and seafood stew, although it was a mix as some felt the stew was underwhelming but some of us enjoy that it had that homemade feel (not overseasoned at all, and the broth was a light natural watery flavor of the mussels, squid, and vegetables). We also had an order of the sirloin souvla. I thought it was just ok, but it definitely impressed the others at the table. We also wanted to order the lamb clay pot, but it was sold out so next time I visit I would like to try. The dessert was nice and made by their own in house pastry chef! We had an orange cake with ice cream, baklava, and a goat cheesecake. I personally loved the goat cheesecake as it was not too sweet, although my friends find it very rich and too much after a few bites. The baklava was also not flakey and had pistachio on top. I personally am not the biggest fan and usually find baklava too sweet, but fans of the pastry would not be disappointed. Went to happy hour on Thursday. Naos advertised happy hour specials and drinks. When we walked into the bar the hostess asked us where we were going and said the bar was full. There were several tables open and three seats at the bar so our group of four sat at a table. When the waiter finally stopped by we were told the happy hour pricing was reserved for those sitting at the bar only! There was no music and the waiter wasn't sure what we were talking about. The atmosphere was stuffy and arrogant. Not suitable for Happy Hour. We went down the way and had a great time elsewhere. You lost $250 in revenue. read more

The calamari was basic and similarly bland, just not memorable. The beet salad was the standout--bright, well-seasoned, and genuinely enjoyable. The lamb chops were lukewarm on arrival, served over lemon potatoes so aggressively lemony they were basically inedible. For nearly $150 for two people, you expect far better execution. If you go, plan to share plates--the portions are decent--but the value isn't quite there yet. Hopefully they're still finding their footing, because the space and service deserve food that matches their potential. I have been looking for a high end Greek place. Unfortunate for any Greek Restauranteur, my measures are Evvia in Palo Alto and Nostos in Tysons Corner. Well... surprise surprise... this place measure up pretty well. There were three of us. We ordered two appetizers, and three entrees and one dessert and some coffee/drinks. We ordered the zucchini croquettes... which came with tzatziki. Both were delicious and the croquettes were light and melt in your mouth. The other was an eggplant Meza with pita slices which was fresh, and lemony and very tasty. We ordered the Moussaka, the lamb chops with lemon potatoes, and the shrimp in tomato sauce. Forgot their official me u names. The lamb and shrimp were absolutely devine. Truly exquisite!!! Taste to calorie ratio rock solid. Worth every bite. Food is big in portion. Entrees are easily sharable. The moussaka unfortunately was awful which is sad. I have always lived Moussaka --- outside of Saganaki, my absolutely favorite dish. This moussaka did NOT have a greek spice blend. In fact it seemed to have a moroccan spice mix with a heavy dose of nutmeg. It threw me. And the Béchamel on too was not creamy and rich but pasty and like the flour was undercooked... i felt like I was eating raw flour ... not the creamy sauce that we all know as Béchamel. And the eggplant in the meat mixture was cooked in some spits and partially cooked in other parts. So disappointing. I could t get past it to each more than the first spoon. Bummer. I have been looking forward to Moussaka. I guess I have to wait a little longer. Sigh... We didn't drink any wine... but greek wine is amazing since the wine industry was overhauled in last 25 years with the importing of some french winemakers to bring the greek grapes to the modern era of wine making. So order the wines and learn to expand your wine repertoire. I ended up with a private wine class from the bartender of NOSTOS in Tyson's corner so... i got lucky to have a good teacher. We had a fantastic group dinner at Naos and I was very impressed with the ambience, food, and service. I was very happy to find a restaurant in the Cary area that can accommodate larger parties of 25 or more in a private room. Naos has two large rooms and another area that can be partitioned off. As the weather gets better, the patio will also be another nice option. Aesthetically, the restaurant is beautifully designed with Greek photos, pottery, plants and plush elegant seating in the main dining room. I worked with Kayleigh and for larger groups there is a selection of 3 menus to choose from. Guests start with the shared appetizers, get a choice of salad and then pick an entree. The appetizers were so fresh and the Greek salad with fresh feta cheese was one of the best I have ever had. I had the filet mignon and the snapper was my second choice. The chicken souvlaki also looked amazing and our team members said it was some of the most authentic and flavorful Greek food they have ever had. Chris was our server and took great care of our team. This was one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever been to! The atmosphere is so classy and elegant and vibey. I also think this was the best taziki I've ever had. The seafood steam pot is a must have as well. The servers are very attentive and give great recommendations!! read more

Good but not great. Maybe our expectations were too high. The tiropita starter (baked feta in phyllo topped with honey was excellent. Greek salad also good, and substantial, but the cucumbers were just overwhelming - needed more variety. Souvla (variation of souvlaki) was good as well but was accompanied with a salad very similar to the bigger Greek salad, as well as lemon potatoes. And we'd also ordered a separate side of the lemon potatoes. It would have been nice if the server had mentioned that but more importantly the side of potatoes was not good. Luke warm and mushy. Not sure what happened. Service as good and our waiter was excellent. We sat at the counter and watched the chefs prepare the starters which was fun. read more
