Stopped by RBF recently for an afternoon drink and really enjoyed my experience! First, we ended up finding street parking right next to RBF, but I think there may also be a dedicated parking lot outside the back patio? Not entirely sure since we still have no idea how to access it, but maybe look for that lot if street parking is challenging :) Anyway, RBF is located in the basement of a building, so we had to take an elevator down from the entrance we took. Inside, it's got chill vibes - it definitely feels like a wine bar :) We ended up sitting inside on a high top, but there were various couches and a good amount of outdoor seating available as well. It took a while for our server to come check in with us, but she was super friendly and helpful with the wine selections once she came over. I got a random glass of red wine (they do not serve beer, in case you were wondering!) while my wife tried out a couple of tasters and then picked out a white wine for herself. The wine was pretty tasty and it was definitely a generous portion. After sitting there for a while, we also decided to grab some bread with pesto on the side. It took a sec for it to come out, but it wasn't bad! Nothing extraordinary but I wasn't expecting anything super gourmet, so it was totally fine. I don't know how but I had never been to RBF before this past Friday. I popped in with some friends around 5pm and it was already busy. In fact, we had to sit at the bar because a few tables were reserved - I didn't know you could do this but good to know now for the future. I would recommend getting a reservation if you can for a Friday evening. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. The space is so gorgeous and leans into women's empowerment. We had a bottle of cava between us as well as the extra kneady board, which had bread plus 3 spreads. For our spreads we got goat cheese, garlic butter, and hummus. Um WOW, the goat cheese was SO GOOD. Like so good. You should visit simply to have warm bread and goat cheese for girl dinner. This is a great space to spend an afternoon or evening. I love it here!! One of my favorite third spaces in Raleigh. The vibe and messaging is vibrant and empowering. I looove the champagne glassware. I've gone a couple of times. Now, I do find it's Decor intriguing and they do have interesting specials and yummy items to choose from to eat. We got a couple of student sandwiches and the frizen drink for the winter in July theme they had going on who were all great. However, each time I felt like it's very cliquish in there and the glasses of champagne can be quite expensive. We're looking at about 20 plus per glass, so get ready to shell that out. They do have champagne flights that run around 50 bucks. They have inside seating outside seating in a bar seating. There was Music Entertainment the last time I went. Again, it just seems kind of clicky and not that I need anyone to be my friend but it just didn't feel very welcoming as in a place that you would want to spend a lot of time and once you got there. What a find! RBF is a cool champagne bar with a well thought out selection of wines and bites. The space is nicely decorated as well. Although every inch appears to be covered, it's not stuffy and quite cozy. The vibe is chill and the music is great. The hubs and I enjoyed our first visit of many to come. The staff was attentive and helpful in walking us through the menu and offering advice on our selections. We settled on the Fierce & Fiesty wine flight, the lumberjack charcuterie board, and the croissants w/ garlic butter. All were delicious, prices are fair, and the portions and pours were great. This place was suggested to me in a downtown Cary forum when I asked for recommendations for a girl's night out. So many people enthusiastically recommended RBF (with exclamation marks) it was hard to ignore. The vibe at RBF is more like a big city destination than someplace you'd expect to find in Cary. First, you can't see it from the street and have to walk downstairs (or take an elevator down). That gives it a cool factor...you have to know where it is. And once you get in, there's a kind of insulated, off the beaten path feeling. I met a new friend there and we shared a bottle of champagne and split a charcuterie board (The Suit). The menu is very clever and entertaining. Given that I'm a professional writer I have to give RBF props for the work that it took to create the humorous menu descriptions. Think Trader Joe's product descriptions with an edge. **Piollot Brut Nature 130 Btl 100% Pinot Noir No one puts baby in the corner for this one. Grab your Patrick Swayze for this crispy, tree fruity, nutty, and earthy dance lift in the water. I can guarantee that you will have the time of your life. ***A Chickpea is Neither a Chick Nor a Pea. Discuss Amongst Yourselves. ***Good in Bread. There was live music, kind of a Stevie Nicks vibe, sans the hippy chick shawl or fringe. RBF is an acronym for Resting Bitch Face and when you realize that, the wry humor of the artwork becomes kind of an inside joke. RBF has a living-wage business model, so you might find it a little pricier than some other places, but I believe this contributes to the relaxed atmosphere. You don't get that kind of desperate server hustling vibe that sometimes overtakes a Saturday night. Lastly, I have to mention that in the restroom there are toiletries in a basket which is such a great amenity. What girl doesn't need a little hair spray in this humidity? As someone always trying to cram way to much into an evening bag I really appreciated the little comforts usually found in nice hotels. I'm really looking forward to going again to try some of the more unusual sparkling wines. Also, they have some community discussion events that look interesting and sophisticated. Overall a very beautiful and thoughtfully decorated space. I love the concept as well and they have a great variety of champagne/wine. The downsides are, it's hard to find parking. I appreciate the pricing that tip is included, but then when you go to pay the tip option starts at around 20%, I would totally add on an additional 5-10% if that were an option. I also thought it was weird that your server won't bring you water. You have to go over to the water station at the side of the bar, for the prices it just seems like the server could drop off a jug of water. All that aside, the vibe is fun in there. The service is super friendly and casual. The server will chat you through champagne/wine options if you are unsure of what to go for. The champagne flight is basically whatever bottles they have open that day, random, but a good way to try something new. I love how thoughtful they even were with decorating the bathroom, you can tell they thought of everything. Another nice addition to downtown Cary, RBF brings an upscale drinking option along with small plates for the area! I had stopped by during its soft opening and the place was jammed so came back during a quieter time. RBF sits out back, behind Bull City Ciderworks, and offers a nice lit patio along with a well-designed interior. So much to look at inside, the main action is at the bar to the left. They've got about 60 varieties of champagne and sparkling wine available by the glass or bottle. The menu also has a nice selection of small plates and charcuterie, RBF will be adding brunch in the near future. Note that RBF pays a living wage so tipping is not required and that is factored into their prices. The space is lively, there's a lot to look at but as you may guess, it's a drinking spot that's heavily female. So your mileage may vary if you're a dude. All in all, it seems like a fun spot, even though it might not be my spot! But for a girls night out, you probably couldn't find a better place to start with in Cary. read more

The Chibatta w truffle butter cost almost nothing and broke up everything perfectly-- honestly, if I lived here, I'd make weekly trips here just to take the butter home. I think we dropped a couple hundred exploring the dark side of Champagne, but without my wife's presence the first visit to NC I can say I loved my less expensive Lambrusco and even the Elio Altare Barbera...I'm just a sucker for Italian reds...so if bubbles aren't your thing, you're covered. Look no further--after visiting around a dozen places in Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Cary & RTP, I can safely say this place rises to the top for wine enthusiasts. I encountered a couple of honorable mentions for having a well-curated wine list, but no one nailed the trifecta to go with it with food, service, and vibe. I didn't even realize I was speaking with the owner until 15 min. after--that alone shows the interest in the customer experience. The knowledgeable staff steered me to a Lambrusco that was my fave, but I found a bubbly rose from Italy that was a mix of sangiovese and shiraz I loved too. The manchego chips were really good--I need to return hungrier to try more. Did I mention the outdoor patio, free parking, and nice price points? I have to start by saying I'm not a wine kinda girlie. I still really like this place! Their cute snack selections are really yummy and the venue itself is a whole vibe. Excited to get my friends together and go back. Will try my best to explore the drink menu more this time. I got something sparkly and sweet. The restrooms (unisex whoop whoop), are so cool! RBF(Resting Bitch Face) is a feminist's wildest dream come true. This champagne bar features all the aesthetics of girl power and is women owned and operated. I love how the theme of RBF is carried throughout the bar with random photos of women with resting bitch faces. This is a very zen place to kick it. They also have a cute patio. The walls are adorned in what I would say is a art gallery of women's empowerment photos and quotes. Absolutely loved it. I struggled locating this bar. It is housed in one building shared with other businesses on the lower level of Bull City Ciderworks and a & bè bridal shop above. There is a entrance through their very small parking lot. The perfect location for any brides-to-be to kick it with a few bottles after a dress fitting.I visited close to closing time unplanned with a friend who celebrated a birthday that weekend. The ladies here provided excellent service and did not rush us at all. We spent about 1.5 hours here. Bottle service, and champagne/ wine / mock tails as well as charcuterie boards are available to order. We decided on glasses as my friend and I enjoy different things. Purchasing a bottle is more economical when visiting. I had the Rosè Nat and she had a glass of Gruner. We then tried the Stipe cocktails that is topped with Prosecco. We didn't enjoy that unfortunately. Meg was our hostess and was happy to bring over Reifenberg Mimosas. The drinks were nicely garnished. The beautiful decor within RBF. Full of feminine energy. First time here! I was excited to try this considering other reviews. My sister and I came in for a nightcap. Upon entering there was a warm greeting from one employee. We were told to have a seat anywhere and a server would be over to help. The server (different from the one who welcomed us in) came over immediately. The server wasn't pleasant/friendly, spoke very passively to us, and then walked away. Didn't ask if we had questions. We immediately left. I refuse to spend money where I don't feel welcome. We felt from this encounter alone that the service would be subpar. With their prices being aligned with the economy I sensed the server thought we could not afford the champagne. Awful experience! We took our money elsewhere. read more

This is it: the best bar in the Triangle (or at least my favorite!). It has everything on my wishlist for a relaxing and fun drink out in my 30s: great indoor decor, beautiful and inviting patio space, variety of comfy seating, extensive drink list, delicious elevated snacks, friendly staff that serve you at your seat so there's no jockeying for at the bar, and good acoustics so you can actually have engaging conversation. An added bonus are the bathrooms with fun female-forward art and the most amazing smelling candles! I actually came here while pregnant and enjoyed one of their fabulous mock tails, and then came back with a 2 week old newborn to indulge in a glass of champagne - I loved this place enough to make the effort to get out of the house! BLUF: I want to come back again and again and again!! RBF exudes such a relaxed environment. We ordered their hummus plate and one glass of sparkling each and felt a perfect ease to nurse our items for a couple of hours. They also have great taste for music videos, these range from Huey Lewis to Missy Elliot to Michael Jackson. On a beautiful sunny day, they have a dog friendly patio to lounge on. Very weird energy from a customer service standpoint. Went to the restaurant when it was completely empty and our party requested one of the couches and we were told we weren't able to be accommodated at any of the available couches. we asked why not and then they told us they could. They then sat our 3 person party at a two seater couch and folding chair...just a weird way to treat customers paying $10+ for a mocktail when everything is completely empty. As a note, all the other couch sections were empty the entirety of our visit, so we could've been accommodated, and there weren't any reservations. Drinks were ok and waitress was great. It just very much came across that we were being gate-kept for no reason. Disappointing to not feel like we also deserved to be in good seats or comfortable accommodations.
