This place was different than what I expected based on the name. I was all set for a greasy-spoon kind of cafe, but it's actually a lot like a Country Kitchen (if you're from the Midwest). Tables and booths and country décor galore! I had the Veggie Delight omelet which included fresh spinach, sautéed mushrooms & tomato with goat cheese. The omelet was good and it was a good size. The potatoes were nicely done as well. Not mushy. This is a fine place for breakfast. I will caution though, if you are going mid-day for brunch, they close at 2pm. Overall enjoyable experience for lunch at another broken egg cafe. I finally was able to try this place located in north hills. I have tried a taste of their French toast at a Yelp event before and was very impressed. Lunch wasn't too crowded at noon on a Friday, yet it took a while for our food to come out even though it was breakfast food. I ordered an omelette - the Chez B's and it was very good. The portobello mushrooms and caramelized onions went really well together and the feta cheese was a perfect touch. The potatoes on the side were crispy. Overall everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. The cinnamon French toast was really good - had berries on top and tasted like a dessert. Only complaint was food took a while to come out and two of my coworkers food was cold when it arrived. However, our waitress was super friendly and went above and beyond for us. She brought us the biscuit beignets for our first visit and they were even better than funnel cake. The honey dipping sauce was so good. When our waitress heard the food was cold, she took those two orders off the bill and even wrote down their names so the manager could give each of them something at their next visit to make up for it. I do not recommend eating at this restaurant. The place was filthy, and not just in a "We've had a busy shift" kind of way. The staff was unpleasant and the food was terrible. Our pancakes were undercooked and the scrambled eggs had spent so much time under the heat lamps they were basically fossilized. I think the 90.5 sanitation rating they currently have is a gross inflation of the actual health and sanitation standards. read more

Prices are a little high for a breakfast joint and the wait time can sometimes be obscene on the weekend (and that's perfectly normal, like what do you expect), but the food is phenomenal. But that's not why we keep coming back, it's the staff! They have some of the best people here at Another Broken Egg. If you can't tell from my other reviews, I'm huge on atmosphere and staff and they definitely have that figured out here. You need something, they are on it in seconds. Came here to have breakfast with my sister while I was in town. I ordered two eggs over hard, sausage and a waffle. I also ordered coffee, which come in these awesome coffee cups. However, my only complaint is that they didn't have any creamers? The waitress informed me that they used flavored syrups. Who does that? (-1 star) I think creamers are necessary if you are serving coffee and you are a breakfast restaurant?! However, the waitress was nice enough to let me order something else, so I had a cuppuchino, which was just fine. My sister ordered the shrimp and grits and with some OJ and she was pleased... she had no complaints! Service was great and our food was deliverely promptly. Typically, we have a good experience at Another Broken Egg, but this time was different. We have a dairy intolerance and usually call in our order so that we can make sure our food has no cheese or butter, but we called twice and nobody answered the phone each time. We finally placed our order online and noted the dairy allergy. When we got home with our food and got settled in, we realized there was cheese all over the scramble we had specifically asked to have no cheese on. We tried calling them again, because we figured they could fix it on our way over, and we didn't want to have to wait in the building. They didn't answer after we called twice again. After our 10 minute drive back, we waited a couple minutes to speak to a manager to let them know what had happened. In that couple of minutes, we saw multiple employees wearing their masks incorrectly (but funnily enough, all the customers in the very crowded/not socially distant waiting area were wearing theirs correctly) and noticed that while there are barriers in between the booths, the tables were seated way less than 6 feet apart (it honestly didn't look like they sacrificed any tables to make room for proper social distancing). The manager gave us a coupon for $10, but the dates are very confusing, so we're not even sure if we can use that in the future, not that we're gonna spend any of our money here anymore. The wait for them to remake our food was unacceptable, too. They weren't terribly busy (it was a Tuesday morning) and making a scramble with eggs, beans, and vegetables should not take very long for a competent person. Meanwhile, the other meal we had ordered was sitting at home, getting colder every minute we had to wait. Overall, this was the worst $30 I've spent in a long time and I won't be giving my money to Another Broken Egg in Raleigh again. We were upset when it initially happened, but since we have both worked in restaurants before, we wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves, but they couldn't even do that. Came here for brunch on a weekday. Service was fine. Location was cute. Menu pretty extensive. Pros: coffee was good, especially paired with a free cinnamon role with a check in! Food wise the huevos rancheros were delicious...The crispy tortilla on the bottom made it. We also subbed grits for home fries which were awesome (buttery and clogged up a few arteries) but delicious. Cons: the hey Lucy was not so tasty. Barely any chorizo nor avocado in the dish. Egg tasted over cooked. Would definitely not recommend. Overall slightly above average breakfast place (thanks to huevos rancheros). Wait was maybe 5 minutes to be seated, however it was a good 30 mins after we ordered before we received our food. Some of the dishes seemed like they had been revamped for the worst from previous visits. I ordered the Peach Cobbler pancakes - which came out uncooked. Completely raw in the center. Great selection of menu items and fast service. I ordered the beignets and Cajun potato skillet. The beignets had a slight crust to the outside but the inside was soft. The marmalade was fresh when you spread it over the soft center it was delicious. A nice combination of flavors. The Cajun potato skillet had crawfish and peppers in addition to the andouille sausage/potatoes. Another great choice off their menu. Tried this out on a Sunday for the first time. It was good we used the waitlist feature in Yelp because it was an hour wait for 2 when we arrived. The food was pretty good. I had the banana foster waffles and grits. Also a half order of beignets for appetizer. I usually don't dare try beignets because no one outside of New Orleans seems to do them well. These ones didn't look like much but tasted pretty good. The grits were very bland. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The waffle was great though. My boyfriend got the seafood omelet which had a surprising amount of crawfish and shrimp in it. More than we were expecting. All and all it was a decent meal. My husband brought me here for Mother's Day and the lady at the front gave us a an hour and a half wait (which was fine for us). She said that we would receive a text message whenever our table was ready. 2 hours had passed by so my husband went to go check. The lady at the front stated that she "sent a text 30 minutes ago". My husband never received any text notifications. The woman kept trying to argue with my husband and was extremely rude. After telling her that we never received a text, she said "well, 30 minutes had now passed, we can't seat you anymore." Pissed off. I've had mixed experiences at this Another Broken Egg Cafe. On a visit a few months ago my eggs Benedict was cold. When someone finally came along to ask how our meal was I did mention how while it was good just an FYI it was cold. They were so nice about the whole thing and comped the eggs Benedict. Something I did not expect them to do! On my most recent visit my in-laws were sharing a the crab cake and fried green tomato dish, they brought out the crab cake Benedict instead. When they mentioned the error they said no problem we can make the right dish, it's a quick swap. Twenty minutes later when I was finishing up my meal, our waitress stoped by to ask how everything was going, we told her most of our table still had not received their food. Fast forward another 10-15 minutes and their meal finally came. To me this was the dish that hands down should have been comped. When your table mate has already finished their meal before you even get yours, there is an issue there! There really wasn't much of an apology either. I like that they have thick cut crispy bacon and the side of fruit is usually a nice mix, not just your run of the mill options. First time trying this place out. It was awesome! I loved the food. I got the cinnamon roll French toast combo. The sausage was amazing and the French toast was as well. Had great service. I didn't have to wait long I used the no wait list through yelp and didn't wait no longer than 5 minutes when I got there. I'll start by saying, if you don't have dietary restrictions this place would be a heavenly brunch spot! You may even enjoy it with some restrictions, I was personally a bit displeased. I ordered the GF French toast and it wasn't anything special in my opinion. I ordered it after seeing someone order the original french toast and I thought it looked delicious! Server was polite & attentive. Ambience is very warm and inviting which was nice gave a very cozy feel which was good thing but basically that's where the good starts and ends. Restaurant can have the best ambience but it knuckles down to the food. I had a smoked salmon scrambler which was just ok. It wasn't exciting in terms of flavor & the quality of egg was not great & that's highly noticeable by the coloring. It came with some pototes that simply were Salty to death & a bagel with cream cheese. There is something in that bagel that I could tell that it was frozen. Do not recommend that dish. However my Fiancé had a different order and her eggs were delicious in comparison you would almost swear side by side we ate at 2 different restaurants. However the bacon was terrible & I'm the cold brew that they serve cannot be brewed in house because it taste similar to the premade iced coffee from McDonald's thats also not great. Went early on Sunday..(before 10 am) ..no wait but this place is popular so be prepared on any given date to be added to wait list. (You can call ahead to not make reservations but to have your name added to list..fyi). We were happy to be seated right away and greeeted by our waitress. Checked in on yelp and got a muffin of the day (blueberry, delicious). I got it to go as I knew I needed to save room for breakfast. They have a fun kids menu..comes with crayons and color sheet and a breakfast/brunch menu that my husband and I both like. On this day I got my usual..shrimp and grits. I can never eat it all but it tasts good heatrd up later anyways. Has the right amount of spice and flavor and the grits are prepared well. My husband decided to up elevate his french toast by getting the bananas foster on top. Talk about decadent. Maybe thats why I could not eat all my shrimp and grits because I was too busy on his plate. Our waitress, Terah, was fantastic though. The beignets were our favorite part of the meal - that and my husband's orange juice. Orange juice wise - we aren't sure it is always the same orange juice so, beware. If you had what we had today though - yummo! Both of our entrees were just okay - satisfying and nothing wrong - just not that memorable. We had the Southwest Scramble and the Huevos Rancheros. I did like the green chiles and black beans on the Huevos Rancheros (which my husband ordered). I wish that my Southwest Scramble had them on top - it would have been better. I liked the side of guacamole that came with the Southwest Scramble too. I was glad to have it and used all of it. The waiting area is very small. We arrived at a busy time (around 11am on a Sunday) and were packed in there to wait for our table. When the weather is better - the outdoor area would alleviate this problem. There just wasn't enough space indoors to wait comfortably and many patrons were out in the cold waiting for their tables. A tip - download the Stealz app to your smartphone. My first breakfast in Raleigh was at this restaurant in the North Hills, but my mediocre dining experience at the time didn't seem to warrant a review. This morning I tried the breakfast spot again with five hungry guy friends, and I was very impressed. The restaurant was packed so we sat outside, which admittedly was a bad idea given how chilly it was. Because of how busy they were, the service was a little slow, but this is North Carolina after all. First thing I did upon arriving was check into Yelp, and to my delight I received a reward for a free latte or muffin. The guys jealously downloaded the app and excitedly redeemed their rewards as well. Honestly, six free lattes would annoy me as a server, but our waiter Daniel was patient, gracious and friendly. He was willing to accommodate two substitute hot chocolates in place of lattes, and even brought us out the muffins as a bonus! My hot chocolate was - for lack of better word - "on point." The whipped cream contained chocolate drizzle and the adorable Broken Egg mug kept it warm, even in the shade. The muffins were incredibly light and moist chocolate treats...I ate three (two at home). As for our meals, I got the fried green tomatoes which I had been eyeing up since I had a business breakfast at the Durham location. The appetizer was huge, with juicy breaded tomatoes over a bed of lettuce topped with crab. I ambiguously asked for a sauce to dip in and Daniel brought out an excellent buttermilk garlic-type dressing. I had to box half of my meal, it was so big, and it was the only item on my bill, totaling breakfast to $10 + tip. I sampled a few other items on the table. The crab stack looked delicious, but I was not all that impressed when I tried it. The grit patty on it was a nice touch, but the toast feels like carb overload and I personally just don't like andouille sausage, but I am sure for someone with that type of palette, it would be a grand slam. The crisp breakfast potatoes that came on the side were awesome. Some of my friends also got the breakfast burrito and said it was pretty good. My friends aren't always the most polite diners, but Daniel dealt with our every request, allowing us to add guests, box items and split the check six ways. At the end of our meal, after our checks were paid, he offered us a to-go coffee which one of my friends actually took him up on. Daniel brought out a warm coffee in a to-go cup, no charge! He was excited about the food, complementing my friend's menu selection, and he even cracked a few jokes with our otherwise annoying crew of YPs brunching. Service is VERY slow and poor. I've been to this location several times, it doesn't matter rather it's busy or not, service is always very slow. Very hard to get the attention of the server. If you come here, don't be in a hurry. Plan on at least 45 minutes to an hour from the time you walk in until you get food. It is not unusual to wait 20 minutes for someone to come take your order. Food is good, but I think overpriced for what you get. I do not recommend this Another Broken Egg. I'm done, and won't be coming back. My experience with this place was very unpleasant I came In on Saturday to join my cousin for her birthday. I don't know the lady name but she was disrespectful after she slammed or drinks on the table very rudely. After we told to the General Manager what our concerns were, she didn't even try to resolve the issue she was very rude. The General Manager told us to never come back.Our server she was really nice and being patient with us.I don't recommended this location at all.
